I will say, as an avid paper since day 1 i have not played 1 match this season. Enjoying WvW much more. Surprised it would be as fun as it is.

Was an outfit you could purchase. Like most outfits, expect it to make a revisit in the store in a few months.

No sympathy for em at all.

They had their ‘YEAR’ in the sun, and Anet will soon(sp) get around to ‘fixing’ em—hopefully after they fix the other classes.

I partake in every aspect of the game, with a concentration on Spvp; and like most that focus mainly on this outlet—we already have the backpiece/etc. The year ended with (from my reading) mainly negative mixed reviews. Lots of the already small Spvp player base (including myself) was/were not going to visit this side of the game with much enthusiasm unless ‘changes’ were made—typically balance/matching improvements.

Balance—-totally non-existent. MMR—-changes while not perfect, are somewhat better.

Now, good or bad…you need players (for whatever reason) to keep this aspect of the game alive; and while it sucks to be on the receiving end of what is believed to be Anet’s stacking the odds against them—Ascended gear is that ‘carrot’ that brings current players/new blood back into a dying system. This game is not true Esports, and will never be (too old/dated/not the right platform). You are not drawing in new player bases…..but attempting to utilize your current base of player i.e. (PvE).

If any of you ever have sat (I have) in a 20+min queue in Legendary—you start to question “Why even play this game?”

Druid main…necro backup…both fully ascended and daily played in pve/wvw/spvp.
Both fun classes for different reasons…you won’t be bored or disappointed—enjoy the ride.

Necro wax my 1st lvled 80. I still love it but only use it for T4 factals and rare wvw zerg blobs. The amount of work it takes to be dominant in pve or wvw is better utilized and less stressful with any other class.
Since I mainly solo everything I find more enjoyment with druid or mesmer….but I still have hope for the future

I ONLY play a aura toons. I have every class and for me, the thief trumps the class. Also, LB Ranger animation can’t be topped. Worst animation feel is warrior…the scaling of weapons is terrible.
Nevermore raven cannot even been seen when most back items are equipped.

From a DPS standpoint Ranger is top dog atm….but like everything, things change most every patch

I hear ya Lightsbane, the necro was my 1st legit 80…and still love it…but lately, I’ve nearly given up playing it. Spvp is a joke for a necro in soloq….tagging along with the zerg blob in WvW is not my cup of tea—I prefer to roam; and finally, raiding has been asked to play my condi ranger.

I really really am trying to make necro ‘work’ in Spvp (playing every Meta and making my own outlandish builds to try to have some success) at least…hoping that a buff with new elite/expansion pack is around the corner; but the constant having to rely on a team that supports me is taxing in unranked.

P.S. making a commander druid for solo roaming after work =(

I notice a lot of mix and match with the gear (mainly Maurader) and accessories. I suppose I could play around with stats when I get home from work…but could this build be mirrored using gear with Minstrel prefix?

Agree with above post. Ascd armor is a metric ton more expensive. You’ll do fine with exotic armor for raids(I do). You’ll only need Ascd for fractals; it earns good money and they are surprisingly fun.

Back in dark age of camelot…I max leveled a toon on what would be called an Iron Man pvp server….it was hell with all the lowbie ganking….never again…..lol

OK. I checked these forums for a guide to FINDING all the NPCs (20). The guides are incomplete and mainly pertain to the correct answer to the NPC questions (which wiki already does).

I also tried Youtube (2 videos with only partial locations), Dulfy and google. No Luck. Are there any sites (specifically videos of how to find em all)? I’m sitting at 16/20 and only see 1 npc at the top of waterfall (that I haven’t figured out how to get to)—where are the other 3?

From various other posts, Anet has confirmed that this years backpiece will be available next year—but they made no mention of how you will acquire this.

Breathe the fresh air and relax. Once I aquired leg rank and got my wings a nice weight was lifted. I still play competitively, but pip loss/gain no longer lingers. It’s back to normal pvp.

However, I do long for some sort of pvp carrot again or something to do with all these badges.

It’s the off season for sPvP and I decided to pick up where I left off in my leg journey—going over the material list—most things in order/close to it; however I am 40 points shy on MPs. Decided to check Dulfy.net to see how mini games work to acquire some points (is there even enough games for 40 points)?

Tried ‘The floor is lava’ and got to silver and then I tried ‘A fungus among us’—cannot get silver even after watching some vids. I’m already burnt out with no more desire to continue.

For those of you than can hack the entire journey—my hats off to ya, you deserve this beautiful weapon—I cant cut the mini games part of PvE

Too many games I’ve played where there have been great warriors/thieves that have done their job and we won the match (and also visa versa). Been on quite a few 2x Warrior or 2x Thief and won (ruby division). Ill take a skillful player on a (incorrect mentality) sub-par class vs a novice player with a meta class any day.

Yea its gotten a lot worse since the time frame when you left. I still do enjoy my thief in open world PvE (minus raids)—but what class cant do well at that scene. Its the SPvP that kills it for me.

Dont get me wrong—I can still do +1 & decaps faster/better than any other class (I run a very cheesy decap build)—exactly what ppl expected and wanted from thieves. What broke my desire to keep playing with this was the horrible environment from fellow players that cry and complain at the start of a match that a thief is on their team—blame the thief if they lose. Finally, it got so bad, that I started playing NON ranked SPvP, thinking I could at least get away from the toxic comments—NOPE!!!

I tried turning off chat…but then ppl would PM me—that was my tipping point.

The thief dose it job fine..and very well with a team that works together; but since I soloq, this class is not for me right now.

Midway thru sapphire on soloq mm/sk/bm. I wanted druid to work either as full time heals or mix with LB. Clearly for me druid only rewarding with organized grp and raids. I’ll prob never make it past ruby as the meta has no place for such a traditional build.

I run the GTX 970 and was considering going to SLI. But reading the forums about GW2, many have stated that it is more CPU dependent rather than GPU, and would be a waste (if this was the only game you were considering)

Had the same issue when changing stats to Minstrel. The order has to be correct with the 1st item. I believe if you put the inscription/insig, it will work. I had someone in \map tell me

It was not until a couple months ago that I decided (with the intro for HOT) to get into the PvE side of the game—I’ve only really ever SPvP and WvW. The draw of the glittering weapon(s) is what my new carrot is. However, after looking at the mats required to craft this beauty (and this is just the 1st tier) makes my head spin.

Fair enough, I’ve prob been playing online MMO’s longer than the average player base age group—been involved in many a different grind per game—but time/gold is limited. Now, I COULD buy gems for cash as I make enough money—but the wife see’s my bank statements and would give me scolding for such silly things.

So my question is….to log all the wood myself (saw some maps online of routes to use)—roughly how long would something like this take in hours/day and to full completion?

www.dulfy.com has been a GREAT site for finding the Hero Point/Mastery walkthru, but there is no walkthru for these. Google search didn’t yield results either.

I’ve tried the traditional route of exploring—gotten most of it, but due to the layer system and my inept sense of direction—some help would be appreciated.

This is funny. This is exactly how I was building my druid. Full Nomads with consumables to add +healing.

I’ve always been a main healer in any MMO I have played. Most recently I was tank-healer in LORTO and had the raid ball up on me.

Im.not sure how well it will work in GW 2 raids but it’s what I’m trying out. If I find it dosent work the ascended set I have built will still not go to waste as it will be used for WVW.

Would be nice but haven’t heard of anything.

I’m going full Nomads myself so I started it. Working on the dragons II achievement now( last quest line). I was able to solo everything up until this point.

Gonna build a druid for full support in raids and wvw—utilizing glyphs (up close due to small radius). Going full Nomads with monk runes. Cleric runes should I need to max out healing power.

Datamined link and anet shows the raven and arm—wondering if anyone knows what the footprints were?

At work, so unable to check in game, but had a few questions.

In an attempt to acquire Nomad rings/neck/accessories the quest line/achievements must be completed. I know I have not done these. The only living story stuff I’ve completed out is the gear you would get from SW (Sinister stats).

1) Is a person still able to do these solo (I tried to watch a bad walkthru on youtube that stated it is not soloable due to the waves).

2) Are the achievements long and drawn out to complete with the amount of PUG actually wanting to do these? I am in a hurry prepping my main and alts for HOT so time is important.

I’m still waiting on the changes to how +healing and CA will work before I decide—but tentatively (in theory crafting and some BWE tests)—full Nomads/Monk runes—still no idea on weapon swap.

First things first: Bristleback for life! I love this pet in so many ways. He just looks so cute and cuddly, til he starts flinging those shards around.

Have only played Druid in Verdant Brink and Silverwastes so far:

-Like the synergy with the three new pets that lay down fields. Direct the smokescale to do his F2 then Staff3 right into the field, and voila, area stealth, or might with fire wyv/swiftness with lightning wyv. I’ve generally found the lightning reflexes utility super useful both for traited condi-clear, but also immediately evading back out melee after dropping Staff 3.

Found the best use for Staff 1 to be standing back with bristlepet at range, and letting it roll while strafing or circling the target, depending on where the melee folk are positioned. Often just strafing back and forth brings out the green numbers like no one’s business, because you’re constantly crossing paths with the melee players. Staff 2 works nicely for this as well.

I have not tried any of the glyphs, none of them appeal to me, and frankly I like my survival skills.

Lunar Impact is amazing, for me, that’s the go-to heal when I see party members start to get low on HP. I am in agreement that Cosmic Ray has some issues. One small move by the target, and the heal is completely missed. The tiny target circle is far too fiddly for my tastes.

The manueverability and speed from Natural Stride, I feel really augments the playstyle of needing to strafe with Staff 1.

As someone who has always mained a healer in other games, I’ve got to say, Druid is the most fun I’ve had in a long time! The next three weeks are going to crawl on by, while I go back to condi… Really can’t wait for HoT now!

ETA (because it’s late and I forgot): +1 with everyone who says that Druids need SOME form of Stability. That’s one of the biggest problems with the spec at the moment for me.

Being an old MMO player, having always played a ‘healerbot’ style class—I welcome the change—while this might not be the change for all—I have enjoyed it.

Cant kill stuff—don’t mind that at all. But with proper positioning and awareness of your party—the druid has been a refreshing and similar style of play that I glad to go back to

Nomad gear

I have a world completion toon (Ranger) that I hate the look/name (human female)—even with total makeover kit/name change contract, still cant stomach the idea of playing it for HOT—I would rather have a nice male Asura (like my Necro) for my druid. I enjoy PvE, but having to run thru all of Tyria again, doing HP/WP’s/Pets—with limited time “really grinds my gears.”

Just curious if others (with limited time due to work) have made the same class with a different race due to character model?

Gonna test it out tomorrow—while Nomad (with appropriate runes/sigils)will be overkill on healing/tanking (due to tough + vit)—would like to see how much of a beating a druid could take before dying.

I’m old—been around for awhile with MMOs and have always been purely pvp focused—look into the game above for your pvp needs (hopefully) due out at the end of the year.

I’ve been waiting for this game since Dark Age of Camelot ruled the pvp scene.

Take this from someone that crafts very little (I’m a pvp freak). I’ve leveled Weaponsmith to 500, Chef 400, Huntsman 400 & Leatherman 400 (all this past month)—for the sole purpose (because WvW is dead and im bored as all hell with sPvP) of going full PvE mode come HOT (I want shinnies).

Basically broke even after crafting and selling the stuff back.

Was it fun to craft? Yep, I enjoyed it.
Was it profitable? Not at all—but at least I did not lose money so I’m fine with that.

Well—given that I only like to play my thief in sPvP—Ill prob just play my necro (pretty kitten good at it even prior to reaper).

My ranger is my only toon with map completion, so Ill just stick with it for PvE.

Sadly, Ive been preping for HOT with farming mats for Incin/Bolt for my lil Asura thief and hope that the devs ‘adjust’ the thief elite like they did Rev/Necro—both those lines were horride, and got buffed nicely.

Ran 1 Silverwaste chest farm today. I had a little over 30 keys, and that netted me 5 spirit shards from the bags if thats any help.

Thats with max buff (for helping with events) 30% MF and self MF of 105%.
