You know what I always wondered: how do all these “vault” skins get to the trading post in the first place if they are tradeable?
I will not ever buy a key (and it doesn’t matter if it is for gems or gold) because the RNG of the boxes and items you get from them is/are horrible and all that boostercrap you get is piling up in my bank anyways –
- I am willing to get skins or other items for gems (cash or gold) IF I can decide in advance that I am able to buy THIS specific skin (or colour for that matter)
I openend the chests where I had keys for (that somehow dropped on me) and it was an appaling experience, which I would never pay anything for to repeat !
But somehow people really must be into those keys otherwise you would not complain on 6 pages over a set of skins being account bound or not….
Stylewise the set makes sense and really looks good – I most likely will never own a piece of it though.
But then my virtual companions make mostly do without BLT skins some years now
This is intentional. We made the change to help with nameplate visual clutter in WvW.
thank you for removing it!
ooor (I hope it is allowed) you can put your builds in sth like this
http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/
and make a library for your builds.
But I totally agree, it sucks to switch back and forth between screens and tweak here and there …
especially if you use your guildhall arena for training – switching builds PvE→WvW..tweaktweak→PVE …..what was that I switched again… waaait, what was I testing?
- Mixed Borderlands – Do you want a mix of Alpine/Desert Borderlands maps?
→ NO, not in the same MU, but please switch them , i.e. every two weeks. - World Linking Schedule – How often should we relink worlds?
→ As often, as the pop imbalance arises due to your statistics. It should work automated at the start of each MU. Otherwise people will keep on gaming the system by transfering to the junior server resulting in stale tipsided MUs after two weeks. - Deployable Mortars – Do you want to be able to buy and deploy Mortars?
→ NO, pls no!….nooooo! - Deployable Cannons – Do you want to be able to buy and deploy Cannons?
→ NO, pls no!….nooooo! - Repair Hammer – Do you want to be able to spend supply to repair siege?
…maybe ok, don’t think it makes much sense in the general way things are though. Why do we not think about improving the situation with the siege timers instead?
Special Mention
- WvW Priorities – What do you want the WvW team to prioritize next?
- We’ll run this poll after completing major milestones with whatever feature last won the Prioritization vote. So in this case: Scoring Improvements.
→ that Poll was very close so maybe you could actually do the “living” improvements after? Like WvW backpack, some Reward tracks, skins, ect. what people wanted.
- We’ll run this poll after completing major milestones with whatever feature last won the Prioritization vote. So in this case: Scoring Improvements.
its not a dumb idea.
its a good idea.
I really do like those tracks that give loot I otherwise would need to spend time in PvE to get while doing WvW.
ahw; I really liked it
Your face is funny.
and yours looks like a raisin, all squished and wierd!
I like most lines, they only start being annoying if they are triggered too often or you spend too much time there.
In case of Vendors: I tend to switch my “Main City” since LA was destroyed from time to time between the capitals – new LA does not do it for me, its very unpractical and I like the change of scenery and dialogue:)
Run about 20 feet away. Drop a stealth trap. Stand on top of it. Be patient. Stealth ego will refuse to not try to gank you.
Kill.
Then bow.
You made me smile I need to keep that in mind for certain situations.
Its a bit of a dilemma.
I find the messages useful sometimes, to not have to check the map so often (and autorun off the next cliff)
BUT they completly cover ther center of my screen for some seconds and can’t be clicked away. (I think the size might depend upon the clients fontsize?)
this is especially annoying in the middle of fights where I can’t see what opponents might be up to and might loose me the fight
I vote for the options
a) to move them ie. to the right side of the screen where chests or achievments pop up
b) or turn them off and only display the message in chat – so if you have time you can read it, if not, not.
A wish I often hear (and myself have): an invisible commander tag!
A tag that is visible to only the people in the squad, but not the players from outside.
(maybe squadsettings, visible or not)
We currently work around running a minisquad (basicly a roaming party >5) without a tag (and are happy that the option exsists at all), but you loose all the nice options like markers and leutenant.
this OP is one of the sad examples of “my space on the map is more important than yours” and tbh after years of playing WvW from any perspective I still do not understand why people are so keen on telling others they have no place on a map.
it sadly occurs from time to time and in diverse directions like
“the zergling or commander telling the dueller to gfo the map cause they keep wiping,
the guildraidmember telling the zergling or scout to gfo the map, cause they only die and can’t do nothing,
the guildraid are called useless cause they only scrim (albeit another guild^^)
the scouts are called decoration or useless cause they didn’t defend all by themselves and call for help,
roamers are called useless, albeit taking small objectives round the clock,
the duellers ganking the zerglings and wondering why they are overrun by the zerg after…..”
BUT I have fortunately had many good examples of stuff being different in WvW!
→ the zerglings working with the scouts, the guildraids and the roamers
and the duellers duelling each other
and everybody kills each other happily ever after
Teq spawns whirlpools at the end of the first phase. Every single time. They will appear in front of T1/T2.
that is true. search for one of those bonewhips/finger things on land towards the water, with the laser setup behind you.
stand next to the base of the finger before the event starts to defend the lasers.
they spawn right at the bottom of the bonefingers, dive as soon as you see the slight ripple!
haha, yes, medium chest was the first piece I chose for my engi!
coatfree future, yay!
you are not speaking for me OP.
There are some issues with DBL still but they are ok. and with the patch actually much improved.
I found them fun to play since I got to know them.
I am speaking about the map per se.
You really think you get Alpine back with the old mechanics?
You wont! (And I am very glad)
I played Alpine for years before Desert, you really think it was different then?
That they were smaller? You legged it same as Desert now.
wierd siegespots.
you could fall to your death if you didn’t know your way.
horrible upgrade mechanics that cost players a fortune.
everybody was qqing they wanted another BL map…
I thank you very much OP to put some of it together.
there are many more examples unfortunatly (around outside firekeep, stairs, around north camp a lot of stones and crevices to get stuck in or on) and I would really have a gardener/landscaper employed to smooth out most of those annoying growth.
Alpine is totally not free of it, but desert took this to a whole new level of obnoxiousness.
thanks for reporting this, saved me the work.
the cliffs underneath this mortar were removed with the spring patch, now we cannot get to it (or use it) anymore.
The flying mortar is exsistent on all desert BLs in N-Palace on the left side from the gate, if the keep is reinforced.
well, I thought about this.
horses would be totally meh. nobody sits on animals in this game.
there are “mounts” that I would consider immersive though:
a dolycart (very slow) would probably clutter all the roadways and could not be used over stairs to transport heavy loads.
a duneroller! did anyone ever try the duneroller in WvW? its a schematic for camps and considered by the game as a siegeengine – and omg it is fun to use!
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Schematic:_Assault_Roller
but I guess only because its NOT a permanent thing to have.
aand of course: golems!
so the only way to implement this fitting in the game is as collectable items (like tonics or transformation devices – see the mechanics that are already in the game for costume brawls)
if you like smallscale, and you like the druid, it is very well suited for that! (I have heard)
I don’t get it.
EoTM is completly different from WvW.
It is used differently by the people who use it.
Why should you take it away from people who like it (or want to grind tomes?).
WvW for me is not something you can force on somebody else by taking away content they maybe? rather do…
if you have never been to a WvW map – here some very basics.
choose a map to hop into (you will only have one starting point per map available at first) or go from lions arch/city portals.
open the map once you are there (M).
look at it.
there are three colours! one of them is yours, remember it for this week.
objectives held by your colour are safe for you to go to, others can be taken.
as soon as you leave the safe zone expect to fight and/or run and certainly die many horrible deaths if you meet enemies (or fall from cliffs) or if you are a spvp expert maybe not
find a camp that is owned by your colour and pick up supplies or pick them up from a tower depot. try to carry supplies always, you might need them to build or repair.
try to find your way around the map and explore it, look what others are doing and maybe follow them. You can ask questions in chat aswell.
folks go there to pick fights in any size and form and/or take and hold objectives. (the bigger the objective the “harder” to take, ranging from-to sentry, camp, tower, keep, garison, stonemist)
you can worry about builds and such the second or third time if you find it interesting.
the nice thing in WvW: you play your own game.
depending on the class you bring and your interest there is 1vs1 or 1 vs more or 3vs2 or 80vs80 fights or just sneaking about or taking little objectives alone or zerging/raiding with a small, midsize or larger groups or fights only or scouting….
what in Tyria is it with these Norns and their beards having to stick out from helmets?
I know at least one other Norn whose helmet choice only allows for “beardstickouthelmets”
I agree with both of you.
a) some WvW reward tracks with ascended pieces at the end would be very welcome
b) HOT stat combinations attainable from said vendor for the exotic versions
how many did you find?
found only one so far and that worked fine. (if the aim was true)
what I have seen so far is going totally in the right direction!
You could very much fall to your death in the old BLs aswell if you didn’t know your way.
ie. around NE tower, the cliff towards old gari or hills
The new maps have one big advantages over the old: all Towers have a back entrance!
good for defenders to get in,
good for attackers so maybe you will get a fight while taking a tower, especially for smaller groups its an interesting and good thing.
So if you do bring the old BLs back: pls add some more doors to the towers.
What I like about the changes:
you can navigate around firekeep in an almost direct path N/S towards Rampart.
you have wider options to fight at S-Undercroft (we already used that yesterday for nice extended fights)
found only one haybale so far, but its fun to use.
Airkeep inner has more surpriseoptions for access and outeraccess and navigation is much improved.
What I like to be done still:
The backtracking for defenders and attackers alike inside Undercroft inner is still uhm under optimal – I still wonder who would ever build a keep like that…to keep yourself out?
The stairs towards the “rabbithole” (which has no roof now) at S Undercroft need to be walkable in one go. Why do we need to jump there to get up? It is only annoying in the long run.
You could have broadened the walkways south of airkeep.
I like that we got another option to go up and down there.
I am not done exploring yet, but like the changes a lot.
You used lol, didn’t you OP?
so, how is that different?
If y o u know what it means, its OK to use it?
;)
to me the boaty Lions Arch was the most original and appealing city I ever saw in a game.
the layout and structure was better suited to become a “social hub”, albeit the bank was a little too small.
the new one is an ok/pretty city I only go to if I need the main vendor for guild commendations.
it has lovely spots but is too clinical/streched out to be practical or a social place.
I haven’t made any more mainly because I couldn’t decide which ones to make. I want it to be something I’m sure will be one of my main weapons on one of my permanent characters, and it needs to suit the character. That combination is surprisingly hard to come across.
actually that.
it would be for a class I really like to play and it would need to fit the characters overall looks.
and I never had a drop till some weeks ago, which was a warhorn…which I really do not want to make cause it fits nowhere.
so I pretty much don’t know what to do with it.
I do not want to buy a pre from the TP and never wanted to.
I thought of hope, cause I saw it and it actually looks good. But after years and years of pistol use my engi now runs a hammer ^^
what do I spy with my little eye?!
a constructive, informative, precise, …..well ANSWER from a Dev in WvW forum?
what happened? stares
I do not mean to be sarcastic, I was really surprised looking in here after some time. and thank you for the information!
I found the Dominator set to be actually quite original, well designed and optically pleasing, offering a colour mix that I was missing so far.
And all of that without being disgusting, too “funny” or overdone (like for my taste Chak, Lovestruck, Dragons deep or Crimson Lion)
All in all I would not mind reskinning at all, there seem to be a lack of weapons in certain colours (like propper red or green) – many glows in pinkish/bluish tones though.
(edited by Nadha.6097)
regarding the whirlpools.
do you mean those that suck you down to get the “treasure”?
If yes: they also spawn on a “fast” Tequ, you just don’t see them properly.
Stand close to one of the bone whips (I did use the landside ones close to the water opposite the turrets) always before the defence event start (even the first) and look out closely for one, it usually spawns right at the foot of it.
You don’t see them very well from all the clutter.
I was going crazy trying to get the achievment until someone told me.
I am very much allright with the decicion from OP.
I like this game and keep coming back to it, but Legendary crafting/grinding was never on my list of things I want to do next.
I can see however, that it will make people sad, as the team really got to another legendary level with the last 3 designs they did. (Hope, ect..)
having the option to bind the glider to another key would be the most practical alternative for me.
in regard to food themed gliders something sprung to my mind I need to share: can I please ride a potato like Baron Münchhausen rode his cannonball?
1) I was mightily (and pleasantly) surprised they DID bring it back after some threads that it wasn’t going to come back at all…!
2) I love it being back and being able to continue where I left
3) I would love it, if it was up a full month though. I cannot do too much in one go and still like to explore, 19 days seem not enough to me.
This is funny in a strange way!
The only two spoons I have are siege commander and the Tequatl one and I certainly curse if they once again drop on me instead of sth useful
I would gladly give them to somebody that would want them if I could!
- But yes maybe some zerging is the way to go for you, to get all those Lords killed fast – if your brain can take it
If the game penalizes me for trying challenging content in a way that hinders my ability to keep trying, that content (and most likely that game) isn’t something I want to play. I love this game because it allows me to choose what part of it I want to play, instead of randomly restricting me from content just because I was unlucky, didn’t know the boss/event inside-out yet, or worst of all had an unlucky disconnect or family aggro at the wrong moment.
thank you, that sums it up perfectly for me.
stuff, stuff, stuff!
gimme shinies! high pitched voice
shinies! low pitched voice
I admit being tempted by such a finisher. It would be the first that even gets close to temptation level.
-Is it really adding to your overall experience?
Yes. absolutly.
Cooking is the most interesting crafting discipline there is.
I still have not discovered all recepies there are. (not using a guide) but by now have managed to know where to get all the ingredients.
Creating, using and testing different foodstuff adds more interest for me.
-Does it make things too easy?
No, there is enough contentwise where I can still keep improving my gameplay.
Too easy is only something you do too often and is always the same and have nothing to surprise you.
-Do I always use it? Why?
not always, but for leveling: yes and for WvW mostly (but I keep forgetting ^^).
-Do I usually win 1v1 fights against those who don’t use it?
Nothing to do with only the food – there are things like build or class balance in which the food is only a tiny tip of iceberg or just playing badly in that moment.
-Do I craft my own for fun? Or just buy it off the TP?
I only eat selfcrafted food!
There is this part of my gametime which is dedicated to excursions to restock different needed ingredients, as I do not buy ingredients from the TP aswell.
I do that because I like doing it and it is fun for me (I heard other people like to do dungeons…)
-Do I offer it to other people when I see them without it? Why?
I regularly feed special friends without the cooking profession on their request or offer some if someone says they have run out and we are in the middle of something.
What I would like to see is a balance overhaul, atm there are 4-5 major foods that are frequently used and the rest….well is not as usefull.
It is more fun to produce more different stuff.
Go back to discovery in crafting, dropping recipies are such a bane (and pain) and the ones that were added recently lack…sense and usefullness.
And potions…ahrg. It could have been as good as cooking. But it just isnt. Sadly.
I never thought I would see the day.
Guild Wars 2 Bucket List
- People complaining about turrets – Check
Tears slowly form in my eyes. The day i saw turrets and nerf in the same sentence, a feat believed to be impossible.
^This! wooow! my turrets are actually hitting something! yaay! part of the class can actually be used
An entire keep underwater would make things very interesting.
Oh that! With water as deep as in frostgorge under the ships! I would so love it.
I love underwater combat, especially in this game, sometimes I still get some at the lakish thing north of SE BL camp towards hills or in bay.
The underwater areas were sadly removed for what is now the “ruins” to cap after many players wished for it to be removed.
But I don’t think it was disliked because it was “under water” but rather because it was a vast space not really relevant to the BLs.
But I do not see Anet going in the direction to embrace this wonderful aspect of the game, they removed the only Map containing an underwater section from sPvP Hotjoin and Arenas with the last patch.
:(
hi there.
here is what was written:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/get-ready-for-wvw-spring-tournament-2014/
Quoting from there:
At the end of the tournament, everyone who has completed the meta achievement will be given a chest containing WvW Tournament tickets. You’ll also receive a unique title, and players in the top three worlds of each league will receive a limited-use dolyak trophy finisher.
And: the competition will run from March 28 through May 30
So the answer to your question is most likely “no”.
If you check the official leaderboards both Abaddon’s Mouth and Piken Square is listed as 4th based on the last weeks results.
This is a good indication, ty for the reference.
Still, why do we have to assume? I really prefer things to be clearly spelled out.
oh please beware!
I do not like this idea at all.
1) it does not fit the lore
2) I do like this game to be free of fractions as one of not so many
3) no one should be forced to do Living Story to WvW (I did the low level parts on different chars and with friends to try out all the options and it was fun but stopped with the order stories. you can only do them so many times…I am allergic to apples by now )
(edited by Nadha.6097)
do not make this a matchup thread, or else someone will close it again
BUT: I reread the news-post and it only states:
If two teams have the same number of points, the team with the higher world rating will be considered the higher seed for the purposes of the matchup.
There is no reference to score ties.
Please Anet, can you make a clear statemant how score ties in Season2 will be handled?
I would certainly welcome this.
even if there are many other things, that are in need of fixing or implementing, it can not hurt to ask for it politely again, can it?
Yes!
I agree with you.
Furthermore I could even imagine that they reuse some of these bosses for Fractal end bosses, to introduce more variety there.
Yeah, Dunwell’s headshot isn’t considered a projectile, so reflects don’t work on it. You’ll need an invulnerability, evade, or interrupt skill, which is annoying.
On the other hand Struger’s meat tosses are considered projectiles, so you can reflect those. Thanks for the consistency, Anet.
oh dear! well no wonder then and ty for the info.
The Struger/meat projectile might still come in handy, I am missing that one too.
Yeah…. At those prices, I want permanent stations in my Home Instance as well… :-/
hm not very practical for raids or WvW, but this would be a step in the right direction really.
But things like that “reality check!” are scattered all over the game.
Yes, it would be a great addition to the rotation in my opinion!
(and yes, Snowball Mayhem too)
I could very well live without crab toss or southsun revival, but that is only my humble taste.
So more variety is good!
Thank you for sharing your tips lots of ideas!
I very much enjoy doing the Gauntlet fights.
I still have to beat Liadri just got up to that point yesterday and tried it twice and got exploded by the Visions.
But I am so looking forward to do it
Some mechanics seem to be bugged, like Deadeye Dunwell Oneshoting me in spite of feedback dome twice, but still got him in the end.
Or not being able to do the Blobs Schmobs achiev (I switched to my Warrior and rifle to do it and did not kill any Oozes twice, still did not get it)
I can’t think of any Mesmer weapon to do it with.
But overall they are very entertaining fights!
One has to do a little thinking and tweaking and trying and watching.
Love it!
