You’ll mostly notice the effectiveness of these skills when you’re in-combat, as you will be considerably faster than someone with swiftness. It will also reduce the effectiveness of chilled and crippled while under the effects of Super Speed type movement buffs.

Pegaasus, It’s not matter that you are fresh meat cause you are a ranger, but cause most rangers are fresh meat.

Ranger isn’t broken more then any other profession, but the style of the class attracks (generally speaking) a kind of players that are very used to ranged DPS. Something very viable in other games, but to a lesser extend. On top of that the pet means when you are playing PvE you can withhold the ranged dps style till the end of the game.

But it is a matter of learn to play. I know rangers that are very good in PvP and WvW and are high ranking as well. So it’s a matter of learn to play, and thats not something that can or should be fixed by arenanet.

First of all tell ^^ learn to play^^ to your sister)
Second of all i repeat : go reading ranger forum and you ll find out how many rangers complain about their class..Are they all noobs?^ That’ s the easiest way to solve problems…this reminds me Arenanet style.. Maybe you are one of their staff who knows Anyway I’ m considered a good ranger from guild /friends but that’ s not the point. The truth is that ranger class compared to other class like warriors or necros…simply sucks.

I’m playing a thief myself, but i would love to see all friggin autododge skills (Ranger ones as well) nerfed a lot. At the moment you just evade every ability for like half a second or even more. Instead just give those skills a fixed amount of 1-3 dodges per use (like the Guardian Scepter Block). I mean .. its so extremely strong, you can even dodge kitten while being rooted. Why should stuff like this be spammable. It neither requires ANY skill to spam it, nor is it fair to have them deal pretty decent damage on top of it.

Play Ranger and then you can complain.

I Think they DO read the rangers forums. And I Think that class is “as broken” as any class. It’s tricky to learn how to play the Ranger class though to get the most out of it. It takes time and patience and we have to adapt our play style for the circumstances around us (as will any class have to do). Sure there can be improvements done to the class, I agree with that, but it’s not as bad as many makes it sound.

You realize by now these decisions are set in stone right? So the class is either dead or it isn’t by now. While some changes are coming I hardly think you are going to get enough to make you really happy with them. Just a gut feeling.

Ranger balance is certainly something we discuss. I don’t want to derail the thread by going into more details, suffice to say we are aware of the perception and concerns and this is certainly an area we will discuss as we move forward. The plan for Collaborative Development moving forward will allow you to discuss your concerns with the developers and brain storm idea etc.

Regarding your current feelings toward stopping playing, that is totally your choice, and whilst we would be sad to see you leave please understand that ‘threats’ of quitting aren’t going to magically get you what you want. I just want to be clear about that.

Yes, I do think there is an issue with the moderators on the forums, I don’t really want to quit the game but everytime you post feedback, negative or criticizing and it gets deleted and you get infracted and banned it gets frustrating, what is there to build on if all you have is positive feedback, you need to know what your problems and faults are in the game so that you know what your gamers are unhappy with in order to fix them and make the community happy, banning them from the forums makes that not possible. I have stated before in these forums that I like to give Anet a hard time, that I think it keeps them on their toes so to say, not that I don’t like them, I don’t even know them why would I dislike them, but when I get in trouble trying to tell them what I think they did wrong, I think that is just wrong all together. Makes me feel like the game is being run by communists.

Actually the negative posts get deleted and we get infractions for them, and eventually we get banned for them. NEGATIVE FEEDBACK ON THE FORUMS IS NOT ALOUD! I have been banned for it numerous times, moderators saying that negative postings is not aloud.

And I expect to be banned for it this time to, and like before I am not being rude, just telling you how it is.

You devs have nerfed Ranger so much…You have killed that class.. by nerfing pets and spirits. Instead of writing nice words on the forum, fix that kittening class or simply delete it from GW2.

The funny thing is that I’ ve spent these last two days..duelling most of the rangers who posted comments towards me like : You can’ t play this class ^^ Learn to play and so on..^^

1) Not really. Every class is different and writing something like this is just lazy and untrue.

2) There are many viable builds… The problem is you just need to play them correctly to maximise them. You can’t play every build the same

3) Speak for yourself… i.e. Trap build = never having to worry about a thief again. It’s the same as above really, you can’t treat every class with the same approach. If you do, you deserve to get whipped.

4) I can only assume you haven’t played the game since the recent patch that buffed spirits. If you need confirmation of this, go play sPvP or read the forums. Spirit rangers are solid in sPvP resulting in mass QQ on forums about them.

I can’t stand posts like this. If you post a massive moan about your class with the classic and incredibly boring “If we don’t get a buff I’m quitting” then I pray for 2 things. 1) a nerf 2) you to be true to your word and quit.

We really don’t need any more whingers in this class forum.

How many rangers I’ ve met in my long journey in gw2..who felt pro..but when duelling they simply got kitten d..and simply being 2 hits by thieves..and in general simply got smashed by everyones.

I haven’t done any of the new Content since Scarlet’s Invasion. I know not every release will appeal to me. I will be doing the halloween stuff but might not do any of the new content in November. You can’t please everyone it has nothing to do with loving the content it just doesn’t appeal to me when a release comes that does I will participate.

I mostly WvW nice try though.

There is everything wrong with pets in my opinion..They killed ranger class by nerfing pet damage and pet leash range..That showed how much Arenanet is blind..
For pets they just have to cancel all the nerfs they did..And let some pets attack faster ( like birds..they do an attack every 5 seconds lol )

I’ve spent a good ammount of gold in the last few months on different builds for ranger and I cant seem to find one I’m comfortable with. I’ve found a few that do really well at one thing but suck at anything else.

I Think if they changed the class mechanics (Pet) and perhaps made it so you have to trait to get a pet and if you don’t then you get the damage the pet takes from you added onto your own stats. Because right now the number one thing screwing with the rangers in actual combat is the pet, Mine to soooooooo often just run around get behind and enemy and then just follow them while they move while fighting. So in that situation the ranger which has reduced stats has to be very good to win a fight like that.

So I think the reason the ranger isn’t used to much in WvW (I see Guardians everywhere) is because they just are not very good for it. But I really really wish they were. It’s my favorite class. We just need that stupid pet out of the way so we can actually start using our class fully.

Then AN can start working on our traits which are a mess. Trapping skills are in Skirmishing. o_O they should be in Wilderness Survival. Wut :O

Edit: Before people say ‘But the Pet is the Rangers Mechanic’ It’s so broken it’s just pulling the class down. If we replaced the class mechanic with a crossbow then that would be cool. Very unique and fits into the class, the crossbow can be worked into the class in many ways and provide even further ranger but slow shots. I dunno just throwing things around but my point is there are soo many better things that could be used other than pets. and on that note wasn’t it arenanet that said they weren’t afraid to go back and completely redo something. Because ranger needs redoing

the pet/ranger mechanics are awfull.
Arenanet nerfed pet damages and above all the ^^ leash range ^^ making pets really useless. Above all some pets like birds..deals their attack once every 5 seconds..their mechaninc is just broken.
Arenanet please work on Pets..and by working I mean NOT NERFING becouse as far as we can see..you can just nerf things. ( play ranger class test it in wvw above all..and do something important for this broken class )

Yeah, I today decided to re role. I love using conditions so am working on a necro but lvling is sooooo boring. I did try to lvl a thief once before because I got soo mad in wvw but I got bored of that after I got to lvl 28.

I don’t even like any of the other professions :/ they don’t feel right, but they are soooo powerful compared to Ranger that I think I’ll just have to be bored while lvling for the next few days….

Yeah, I today decided to re role. I love using conditions so am working on a necro but lvling is sooooo boring. I did try to lvl a thief once before because I got soo mad in wvw but I got bored of that after I got to lvl 28.

I don’t even like any of the other professions :/ they don’t feel right, but they are soooo powerful compared to Ranger that I think I’ll just have to be bored while lvling for the next few days….

Eh mate I’ m happy that at least you had the will to reroll another class and play it..whereas me that I liked only ranger..well I think I’ ll quit

THE RANGER IS BEING PUNISHED. I don’t see Mesmers health getting lowered every time they spawn an illusion, in fact thiefs get rewarded when they cloak!

Rangers should be someone you don’t want to run into in wvw, a class that can completely surprise you and make you panic and run into traps and if you try to run away can hunt you down.
When fighting them you should be on the tip of your tips and have be alert for any surprises they might throw at you.

Not a class you see and think… Hey look. Loot…

Edit: Right now I’m trying to go a dungeon. I’ve been denied access to about 4 groups now all of them saying but we want to do the dungeon quickly.

Developpers read this and start working on ranger..and by working i mean not NERFING
