Use Staggering Blow inside like half the combo fields and hope a bolt from it hits and kills a target.

But the easiest way is just to take a Longbow and spam the burst skill, it generates a huge long duration fire field that if others get a combo kill with you also receive credit for making the field.

Seems to work 100% of the time under water, which is amusing because underwater the heal is broken and allows you to tank 2 players and the pet still heals even if they kill it.

Very hit or miss on land.

You can’t really “beat” a competent thief with offhand dagger if they don’t want to be defeated.

Luckily they can’t contest points while stealthed so in the end they aren’t really accomplishing anything other than being annoying if they can’t kill you.

Yes. Main hand sword Mesmer should be able to to keep a bosses defiant stacks entirely gone simply by auto attacking.

They fixed it and broke it at the same time.

Picking up or dropping an environmental weapon now counts as a weapon swap so you go into CD.

This was probably done so Engineer kits get the on swap effect from sigils.

All sigils with an active effect (on crit/proc, and on swap) all share a cooldown. IF you activate any sigil active effects all other sigils will go on cooldown. The game prioritizes the sigil on your weapon in your main hand.

This is done to make it so you can not run to on swap, or 2 on crit/proc sigils at once. You have to have one or the other and mix it with a passive effect sigil, such as +damage, +condition duration or the like, on kill sigils are exempt form the cooldown rule and are free game to toss into a weapon without penalty though.

Is this a bug?

Mesmer great sword auto attack is not a projectile so you can not reflect it.

Same thing applies to necromancer scepter, engineer flamethrower, and a few other weapons here and there.

Healing Surge has been giving full adrenaline for almost a month now. They never mentioned it in patch notes when it got changed I guess they just decided to document it recently.

Personally I preferred the old way as I could have 2 bars of adrenaline and use the heal and get the maximum heal amount.

But that’s just me.

I have an 80 Warrior, Guardian, Thief, Ele, and Engineer, and a soon to be 80 mesmer.

I was never a fan of grenades, I much prefer rifle/tool kit based power builds. And in Dungeons I bring bombs/Elixir gun with create a spell when swapping to a kit trait to keep melees topped off, bombs do good damage and have utility in blind and blast finishing with big ole bomb for might.

I don’t really care about the grenade nerf at all.

Rings only exist in.

Soldier, Bereserker, Rabid, Omni (all stats), Magic Find, of various sorts, Power/Toughness/Crit damage (this was introduced with the fractals update and I think it’s called cavaliers), Toughness/Vit/Condition Damage (don’t think this has a name).

Noticeably absent are Cleric, Knights, Carrion, Rampagees, Valkyrie, Apothecary, and the new Givers.

Why all those types are not supported and ANET decided to make new ones, and several ones with magic find hogging a stat slot? I do not know. I just hope they add more options soon as I don’t use any of the ones currently in game.

Just did this path, boss did spawn alot of adds through the fight. And no one died, just went down several times. So I don’t think Lmnotz theory is correct. First time I had done that path in awhile, nice to see it was atleast someone challenging.

It will never be a level playing field for you if you don’t drop the “save me A-net by nerfing the thief some more” attitude. Plenty of people can kill thiefs competitively because they figured out how to instead of asking the devs for another nerf.

Who is asking for thief nerfs here? People want the culling issue fixed. Culling can be abused by anyone that has stealth, it’s just that Thieves have the easiest time abusing it. Culling is not a Thief strength, it is a bug that needs to be fixed.

I just dont get when culling happens…. Is it when you are fighting a zerg? or it happens when you are on a 1v1 encounter?, to be honest every time I start a 1v1 fight I never see my opponent having trouble on targeting me after I lose invi

It’s when there are a lot of players or monsters nearby the servers can’t send you all the information about everything being there at once so people can stay invisible until the server decides to load them for you. stealthing seems to reset these so you have to be loaded once again by the server, which can lead to upwards of being invisible 5 seconds or so after you leave stealth.

It’s not a player hardware issue, it is a game engine/server issue.

Pretty much any class can get 100%+ crit while leveling. Due to the fact that +10 precision from investing into a trait is A LOT more precision for say a lvl 11 than a lvl 80. At lvl 11 10 precision is something like 5% crit chance, while on a level 80 it isn’t even half of a crit.

Just invest in crit trait/crit gear while leveling and you will have an insanely high crit chance, it usually goes even higher if you go in WvW due to the weird scaling.

Mace/Shield is the answer.

Never again will you lose to a thief. Block backstabs with mace. Block burst with shield. And if they are a ranged thief you trait for blocks to reflect.

It used to be +1% per point back before beta weekend 3.

It got nerfed because that with crit damage, sigil of intelligence (old) sigil of doom (which was +30% damage on next attack after swap) could lead to easy 13k eviscerates at will with no drawback.

I like to believe it was just a bandaid fix that they need to go back on and fix again now that the combo has been nerfed entirely (sigil of doom functionally change, can longer stack 2 on swap sigils). But I don’t believe budding the damage on it is the key as only 4 burst skill really benefit from it, GS, Axe, Rifle, and Speargun are the only real burst skills focused on raw damage, other burst skills are condition damage based or control oriented.

I feel +adrenaline gain would probably be the easiest and most solid change.

My 2 cents.

Using 2 on swap sigils, 2 on proc sigils, or 1 swap and 1 on crit proc sigil is a bad idea because all sigils share an internal cooldown and only 1 at a time will ever activate correctly (main hand one takes priority). So take a stat increase sigil on your offhand, or an on kill sigil on off hand.

It’s not weak. Warriors signet of healing scaling is just crazy broken at low levels. It becomes a lot worse as you level up.

Since you commented about thinking about how you can improve the loot system form fractals. Does that mean you are also going to add more stat types to rings/backpacks? I mean currently as is I have very little motivation to even do my stupid lvl 10 daily because even if I do get a ring (8 tries in a row with nothing so far), I won’t even get a ring type I want anyways.

I mean none of my 4 lvl 80s have any rings available to them. I use Knights/Clerics/Carrion/Valkyrie and there are no rings available with those stat spreads. Atleat to my knowledge.

So any word of implementing them?

Only thing I would like to see on the toolkit is to give Prybar a leap for some extra mobility. Other than that all the skills are solid except the auto attack seems meh unless you trait it to cripple.

Coming from a sPvP standpoint Mace/Shield and GS with some shout thrown in has been by far the greatest most versatile build I have played in the game.

Build should be pretty self explanatory, but for some brief info Mace/Shield set is used for wearing down and interrupting/chain stunning foes usually setting up so you F1 bust them and then swap to GS and go for 100b. With default crit rate, fury, and +50% against stunned foes trait you end up getting 80% crit rate with decent +crit damage when bursting with 100b. GS is by no means used for that only either, it works very well for getting around the map and traited your 4 immobilizes.

Mace/Shield setup can also be very useful against ranged enemies due to the reflect projectiles on block trait. Mace 2 alone can send back a nice amount of damage back at a foe.

With 2 stun breakers, high toughness, a long duration stability, nice condition removal, interrupts in the form of stuns and dazes, block skills, escapes from GS, you have plenty of staying power and your chain stunning is invaluable in team fights. And played correctly you are very very difficult to defeat in any 1v1 situation.

I use the same build to great success in WvW good for small skirmishes , giant zergs it can be hard to get in there but you can pick off over-extended enemies or enemies on the edge of the battle. But for assaulting towers I suggest a longbow swap and spamming the F1 on walls to take out siege, and while defending rifle is great.

Coming from a PvE setup warriors are effective with just about anything. But after playing my Guardian to 80 and doing pretty much all content with him I don’t think any profession/build combo could possible be better than an Altruistic Healing hammer Guardian, they are just insanely good in all PvE situations.

My 2cents, coming from someone who plays everything in sPvP, except Ranger, I can’t piece them together very well or atleast to my liking.

I used a similar build on my engineer but I take the toolkit always, Throw wrench does great damage, especially if you net shot your opponent ensuring that your wrench will hit both times. Not to mention box of nails and gear shield are great escape tools.

I recently stated leveling up an engineer and I noticed that the Healing Turret has even more complexity to it than I had originally thought. What I mean by this is, you can leave it on the ground to give perma regen to nearby allies, you can drop it and pick it back up to put it on a lower cooldown and give you better personal healing, and that you can time Regenerating Mist with a blast finisher for a water field blast finisher AoE heal, or even taking a gain X ability when using a heal skill from runes and getting it’s bonus often.

But what I also noticed is that when your healing turret is on the group and it starts spinning it counts as a water field, which you can then combo with detonate turret for a blast finisher (easiest to do is right after you plant the turret and about half a second to a second later the white friendly AoE line pops up) AoE heal. Which gives this skill many different uses depending on the situation.

I was just curious and wondering if some other engineer skills had some hidden uses not immediately noticeable without some tinkering around.

Heart of the mists weapon vendor has three tabs, weapons, sigils, and steady weapons.

Steady weapons are weapons with IIRC 100-100 damage range, which means they always hit for the same damage, they are there for testing out mechanics and number crunching. Just go get one from him they are free then go hit a training dummy.

30/0/30/0/10 Carrion geared P/D with some +bleeding duration runes/sigils is a total beast.

With caltrops up in PvE you can stack perma AoE poison with long weakness duration, and 25 stacks of AoE bleed if you spam cluster bomb at melee range. While P/D is great for single target bosses and such.

And you can change some traits around and hop into PvP with a VERY powerful shared healing venom setup with tons of CC and good healing. Be careful if you go into full venoms though as you will lack a stun breaker.

Wiki says between 1 and 2% per unique boon.

Easiest way to test it would be to go to The Heart of the Mists and get a steady weapon and hit the dummy, and then boon yourself and hit it again. You are guaranteed results because steady weapons always hit for the same amount..

Also in regards to your stats not changing, +% isn’t tracked in your hero menu. And in case you were wondering condition damage is not effected by +% damage.

You can already perma stealth with -20% deception trait recharge and taking Blinding Powder, Smoke screen, and shadow refuge.

Cycle them and spam short bow blast finishers into Smoke Screen. And it’s also AoE stealth so you can bring people with you.

So what’s the point of “permanent semi-stealth”?

Use air elemental at mid range against alpha.

Alpha spams his AoE ice spike thing at mid range targets. The thing is the ice spikes don’t hit you if you are in the center and don’t move. Which the air elemental won’t as long as he is in range.

Just saying.

I wasn’t aware 15-25 stacks of bleed, perma poison, perma weakness, good cripple uptime, boon stripping, spammable blast finisher, amzing single target CC if you swap some utilities around, and free rezzes on downed players was bad in a PvE team setting.

I must have been doing it wrong all this time.

It’s easy as hell to get 25 stacks of bleed as a thief.

Invest into condition duration and use caltrols + pistol.

Even caltrops + cluster bomb spam works.

Condition damage thief works because of the perma poison, high bleed stacks, and weakness and cripple easily covering your bleeds and poisons.

What does each races say when they change their attunement?

I used knight armor, Valkyrie trinkets, and a Berserker staff. Runes of water are actually important because the +boon duration on them is very nice, that combined with +30% boon duration from arcana tree means your AoE boons you auto cast when you swap atunments (which you will be doing a lot), last a nice deal of time. I think the protection from Earth lasts like 7 seconds, which is very nice. The AoE heal when you cast a heal is not bad either, it is an 848 AoE heal, and with Glyph being trained down to 20 seconds that is not a bad addition by any means.

Sigil isn’t important, but Battle, Strength, or Water is probably your best bet.

Heart of the build relies on the great AoE support and control staff offers and the AoE blind from signet of earth and Earth Attunement Glyph of Storms for shutting down groups of enemies. All while maintaining alright damage.

The third utility skill isn’t too important but I like to take a defensive skill. Arcane Shield, Mist Form, Armor of Earth, and lightning flash are all solid skills to take. Arcane blast isn’t bad as it gives you another blast finishers which is great for abusing in water or fire fields. Ice Bow is also worth taking if you want to. The 5 skill on it that freezes your target in a block of Ice works on bosses and ignores their CC immunity.

Actual perma stealth (not the rendering issue when there are tons of people around) is not an exploit or a bug.

You only get the revealed debuff if you attack while stealthed, if you let the stealth wear off naturally you don’t get the debuff. So if you trait correctly Cloak and Dagger CAN have 100% stealth uptime. But you are only attacking once every 4 seconds with it.

The tooltip is bugged. They don’t last for 2 minutes. It lasts an hour.

It is the same thing as the powerful potion except it is soulbound.

And the exotic recipes you get from dungeon vendors for 500 tokens. I think they just screwed up.

You are entirely wrong.

I run 656 healing power and my shouts healed for 1700`ish. I have weeks old screenshots to back this up. They haven’t healed for anywhere near 2100 at 615 healing power since maybe beta 2.

They are still healing for 1700ish.

If anything you are freaking out because WvW reset and the medic bonus from it got reset.

Banner regen has nothing to do with the warriors health. It is entirely dependent on the lvl of the target receiving the buff. And the caster’s (the Warrior) healing skill.

Posting this here for some feedback to see if we can get to the cause of this.

Situation: I was fighting a mesmer in a 1v1 and somehow or another I suddenly made a clone. The details are fuzzy but what I do remember was that he was a scepter/torch condition mesmer.

I do not know if this is a mesmer bug, or a warrior bug as it was so odd.

Although I do have to say that clone came in handy because 5 seconds after I took the screen shot a frenzy 100B warrior wasted his burst on it.

Healing signet is fine. It has it’s uses. It may have subpar HPS in regards to the other heals but there are builds that can utilize it.

Not to mention it is the lowest cooldown warrior heal, and can be traited for an even lower cooldown so that makes it great to triggering on heal effects on rune sets.

Both. It does raw damage every second, and the raw damage then applies burning which scales with condition damage.

Glyph of Storms does not function like of Glyphs do in regards to atunement swapping.

Other Glyphs effects are determined by what attunement you are in when the spell finishes casting. (Example, casting Glyph of Elemental Harmony while in fire atunemnt and then switching to water atunement mid cast will result in you gaining regeneration from being in Water atunemnt.)

Glyph of Storms spell effect is determined by whatever attunement you are in when you start the cast.
