Not much really expecially if you actually have enough people to cap 2 and half maps at night time, if you want challenge for Oceanic I suggest joining FA as they are the ones most desperate need CD and TC have large Oceanic presence. Ehmry’s holding there own, and Maguuma well they have GOONS but somehow are completly unorganized at all. kind of a shame considering there Eve presence….. Although Maguuma’s got some of the “Toughest 5 mans around” suppossedly… not that is actually helping them win anything.
Just to add it seems alot of people Think D/D is all thiefs do when in reality is its pretty much the Meta sPvP build.
Sword/Dagger the Stealth slapper likes to repeatively daze, remove boons and has high mobility to quickly move from danger zones auto attack also applies Cripple and weekness, specced repeatedly blinds foes (20 shadow arts)
Shortbow The Utility Master Ranged Multimob good use of 3 skill can permakite any boss, specced 4 skill with 15 deadly arts Perma weakness and poison with Poison builds can dump venoms on mobs better than any other through the 2 skill
Because of Mobilty and near constant ability to mitigate damage through the some of the most powerful condition applications and stealth healing, these guys can fully equip full Beserker and massively output solid damage while retaining the survivability of any 25k+hp warrior.
I like to run with 2 stealth skills, SR and Smokebomb, both these have team benifits. leaving my 3rd skill and elite to fulfill the situation as needed. also prefer signet of malice over any of the other heals though dodge one is good too.
My bet is it be close to 4 o’clock PST or slightly before There are some WvWvW changes I believe and don’t want to just shut it down for some of the last minute fighting someone might just pull off a third – second place manuever at 3’oclock and how kittened would you be if you lose by 20 some points cause it was shut down…..I know in reality its like Who’s Line is it Anyway….overall the points don’t Matter, But as gamers Points meen everything just look at all the crying over not being able to get all the Mad king achievements when it happened.
The PAGM or Portable asuran Gate module basically a siege that could be deployed on the battle field and once constructed offers a gate in point from another PAGM from the same team only 2 could be built at one time. they could be used defensively or offensivly. Then they could nerf Mesmer Portal to like 5 only\without totally removing that strategy from the game and give it a fair option for all classes to pull a siege port.

Trust me you don’t want Subtle sending 15 at you thats 15 fully geared level 80s with the chance of a 10 or more pugs following. I know I run with these groups and they Annihalate everything in there path GL though…. you sound really awesome.

I’d also carry a sword on the zerg put the Rage sigil on it. also the sword unlike the Dagger gives you an Aoe frontal allowing you to punish other stealherThieves. And its 2 skill with proper use can have you be the absolute most annoying thing in the world to target and track. ah the good ole set up Shadow return attack run away for like 6 seconds pop cloaking powder and then hit shadow return run in oppisite direction to leave a bunch of people looking like fools.
Maguuma…..Gees if your gonna create an assault distraction on a wall….at least for the love of god put the Catapults outside of Clusterbomb and other AoE Range from The wall or have a tonload of suprressive fire on the wall seriously when 3 people can route 20 your doing something seriously wrong.
So the question now goes how long can Ebay hold onto Outlook…looks like its gonna be a long night for em…..was trebbing it for 3 hours strait new shift so hope they do as well. Good luck Ebay and Maguuma Props for taking advantage of the towers while EBay is suffering supply choking good one…. next time don’t run the zerg and destroy our siege hitting EBay…but thanks for the extra bags though. Here I’ll be completely honest with you this time, thieves in WvWvW are no help at all, you would be better suited to reroll an engineer or necro, they are best for helping out your team. Good luck and stay safe out there!
I beg to differ Thiefs are a huge asset in the zerg beside the backstab variety (there good for ganking heavyly defended yaks though).
one Shortbow skill 2/4 Clusterbomb and poisonshot((defence and wall assault)) Can lob the clusterbomb at assauters from the wall without having to stand on the ledge.
Shortbow skill 2 Clusterbomb Best Aoe Combo Finisher in the game if the thief is right next the Combo Field can spam it for Mass Heals…mass Retailiation Mass stealth mass Blindness. mass AoE weakness(that one the thief can do all by himself)
Scorpian wire. rip people off walls Nuff said.
Shadow Refuge…<—- Makes em the best Field Reviver in the game even Lacking an insta Down saver.
Signet of Malice + runes of the Centaur, Specced for Boon duration increase Perma run speed for traveling for a party of 5.
No other class can Roam like a thief and get from long distance point A to Point B faster. Great for Supply running….
And on top of that Supply Decent Damage against players and is most dubbed Most annoying Class to kill.
IN other words the Theif is absolutely far from the most useless Class in WvW there probably one of the most usefull classes to comeby.
I’d be fighting Mag off on our east flanks to be surprised by Yaks on the west.
Heh probably more of the result of camp train we had going earlier today Camp 2 camp 2 camp was fun Lots and lots of Victums crushed under its track…..wonder if the keeps kept getting scared everytime we ran by.
Guardian is the only class that I know that can effectively “trap” a thief and it has to be the hammer variety and time his 5 skill on the Refuge Just as it dissapears.
Hammer warriors can charge in with there Hammer surge, and follow up with the 4 skill to Knock em out of the refuge before it despawns to give them the debuff.
Your best bet to getting a thief as a Necro is to use your Staff and Fear trap right on the refuge hoping you hit the thief and is forced to run out. Condition spamming is useless agaist a shadow specced Thief as they are actively removing Conditions on stealth and every 3 seconds. So your Chill is probably being cleansed faster than you can reapply it.
Thiefs counter shadow refuging with shortbow jumping in it while active and spamming the Kitten out of the 2 skill. or if they happen to have a necro steal on handy ((rare though has happened against me))
Rangers Blow all your traps on the refuge and Longbow 5 it….though can’t say thattle be enough sorry rangers.
Engeniers tough but a fully specced grenaider can make a thiefs life miserable inside it. also Rifle jumshot onyourself inside can sometimes insta kill us if your fast enough.
Elementalist Not sure don’t play one. although a D/D flame thingy harresses me alot inside refuge.
Mesmers are kind of SOL on the whole Refuge thing, they don’t a way to summon there primary damage against a refuged thief. And glamour spells are useless against a shadow specced thief who does absolute nothing during it and runs away and all there Crowd controlls are targeted.

and they are invulnerable in their spawn. Simply fall back to the camp and kick the crap out of them when they push again.They are using a terrain bug/glitch to stay alive. That is exploiting.
And yes you can move away and let them come out however they can also just camp there forever, tying down some of your own resources who have to watch them, only coming out when it is safe to take the supply camp.
It is an exploit.
Gonna be a bigger exploit when the NPC commander comes out with his player zerg and roles you for camping the spawn… Its not an exploit stop camping on the spawns you won’t see this.
Awesome 3 way Battle Royal at SM last night Every moment was Intence, I give credit to the Meguma and EBay players you guys are one Tenacious group, never giving up.
Some Friendly Advice expecially to Maguuma watch your tailends going into a Tower You never know when a zerg of 20 might follow you in and wipe you. Gorrila Warfare a 2 groups of 10 can can take out 40 with a solid flank in the open field. In essence watch your Backs and don’t get tunneled vissioned on a door its real easy to get pinched as the saying goes.
I can’t say how much per hour cause I set Buy orders that are filled out over a random amout of time, what I can say is I log on Flip what I bought and typically walk away with 4 to 5 more gold than I spent. Then spend a little of that to replace buy orders then go out and have fun come back the next day repeat.
Thats what I do, what i’m not gonna say is exactly what i’m buying or why I’m buying them or how I’m flipping them. Thats your job to figure out. and reasons are obvious too why its not shared for those that know how market secrets work.

Well another thief cure for SoS this goes for any race, is to have a full set of Centuar and use signet of malice, Traited you could have a 15 second swiftness on a 12 second cooldown. Gives a nice use for that signet while out of combat. hell just use it often 3k healing every 12 seconds!!!
Try assuring you have a target lock when using it. (the work around) think the auto targeting is messing up sometimes and acting like theres no target to charge too.
Yep hit n run its thief MO Get in hit hard get out, also Glass Cannon Beserker or Rampager depending if your Condition or Direct Damage, anything else your just kittening your self and asking to die. Also your not a Marine, First in Last out, thats the Guardians/Warriors job your more like the Green Beret or Navy Seal, Sneak in blow em up dissapear. <its the mindset you have to have..]
So overall Survival is having Patience, having Knowledge of the Boss, and above all AVOIDING not mitigating Damage at all cost.
Some extra tips, Let the beefier members run ahead and eat mob face. don’t be afraid to hang back sneak around and pounce on enemies at half health. also Important, is the thief with Shadow Refuge, is by far the most amazing Field medic on the team, shadow Refuge over a downed member run in and heal them with out any aggro to you.
Yep pretty much play the game you can get weapons also find a merchant you can buy some white ones of the level you need.
Personal preferance to range, shortbow, it really is the range all weapon with haveing a decent power auto attack gets op in fighting groups of 2 and has some really neat utility to it far more that P/p will be.
Yha 24 stacks of might + 25 blood lust is is + 1100 =4500 attack if he’s full Berk with 254% crit damage so 4500*1100*2.4(Backstab skill mod /2900)=10400 (approx after 2.54 crit modifier) then he could potentially have up to about another 72% damage mod from traits so he could hit alot harder. with that many stacks of Might and bloodlust.
It would completely invalidate some of the traits out there and no. Wait it out, heck the thiefs got some of the worst down abilities ever a short range teleport and and Cast timed stealth that some moron can easily counter just by attacking the spot he went invisable at not like he isn’t gonna be visable 2 seconds later.
No Defiant is not counted as a boon and cant be stolen or removed, its stacks are only removed by using Hard CC, so a stun, daze, Knockback, knockdown things it counters removes a tick of Defiant.
I go with a 0/30/30/10/0 Full Beserker, <my personal playstyle> I also fight sword/dagger/shortbow so I can teleport on to mobs have an ondemand stealth CnD and overall have an extreamly quick kill pace.
With the thief Your gonna have to learn how to actively play defensively rather than it be a passive part of combat. I really like the 30 in shadow tree for 3 awesom traits that work well to gether to help survivability Shadows Embrace (condition removal when you stealth) Cloaked in shadows (blinds targets when you stealth, Very helpfull against some of the bigger Mobs) and Shadows Rejuvination.
I will digress though that Underwater will always be an issue for thiefs no matter what build and thats weapon limition and skill limition no other class in the game has more skills that Can’t be used underwater infact the thief only has one elite, and theres no reason the other elites can’t be used. and you have absolutely none of your stealth skills accept your heal.
The only thing I can suggest for underwater is to learn how that spear operates and learn to time the evade moves and ondemand Blocks on it.
Oh and atleast a minimum get yellow gear for your level even if that means taking a dredgefull look at the TP for it.
Your saying he went AfK in hirathi, then went away from the computer to take a nap….what was his character doing while he was napping, My guess was he went afk did something like set his character to walk, to avoid the Idle Time out system and triggered a ban which is something right there on that screenie that says is Not allowed.

Thief must of CnD your downed body and began to Stomp sure its hard to counter and is there specialty in stomping just like the rangers on Demand Quickness stomp. of course if they really want you dead they could Haste CnD Stomp. Stealth is a feature and primary class mechanic of the thief its not exploit to use it to your advantage.
and if you have culling issues which is a problematic part of WvW, I suggest having a buttun set to target nearest when your fighting a thief. the red circle helps a little to know when he’s not stealthed.

Actually there seems to be a problem with the Trade Post(auctioun house, ah, TP, BL). and this has nothing to do with the mail box being full or not.

Thieves not good in Pve wtf……
Lets Can easily drop aggro, ((infact is the only class that can drop agro with a heavy hitting attack))
Can Hit for tons of damage repeatedly
Can turn a room full of mobs into a constant reset of 1v1 drawing em out and stealthing ((when mobs drop aggro they typically go back to there spot))
Can teleport in out of Melee and repeated put blind up
Can place aoe blind field on himself and repeatedly attack with little Risk to himself.
Can speck to aoe blind all mobs around him everytime he stealths.
Do all this and wear Berserker Gear. with little penalty to Defensive abilities mainly being Blind stealth and Dazes.
All this and still compete with a Glass Cannon warrior who has little defence for self survival other than a higher than average health pool for Glass cannons.
Warriors can spec glass cannon and hopefully kill the mobs before he gets attacked
Has a few CC on massive Cooldowns….((compared to the thief who can quite litterly spam his CC in comparisons))
Speck Bunker sacrificing a load of damage potentiall killing Mobs much slower than a thief.
Not to say the warrior is not good at PvE in fact with its health and versitility its actually very good, what I’m really saying is the Thief is the last class that should be saying the warrior is OP in PvE. To state I have raised a Ranger and a Thief to 80 and a warrior to 55 and so far the Thief has been clearly the easier ride there.
Can’t say much he got lucky really, those numbers are in fact the high end of the spectrum for DD and he pulled off a lightning strike with the attack essentually he pulled a move that one only happens once in every 45 seconds and got top end roles on all 3 hits triggering a lightning strike. probably happens 1 every 20 or 30 times he gets those numbers. honestly if he misses the lightning strike and his bs hits for 5.5k<the more average hit of a bs he doesn’t kill you in the volley.
….. and for some reason (I used the Soldiers trinket to get stats on vit/toughness ((don’t care about Prec. as it has little to do with survivablity you should have 19k hp.))

heh you got pwned but honestly the numbers show you obviously were not that great of a bunker build I run a backstab buffer thief, and have never thwacked any body but the lowest armored stuff for 7k remember 3k armor means about 30% reduction in damage and if CnD is still hitting for 4k damage omg expecially after a 33% damage nerf in the latest patch. Those numbers suggest either one you have crap armor meaning not right equipment maybe traited but not correct Items through out, or those are pre patch numbers.
If you’re set on running with 30 in WS, swap out Empathetic Bond. There aren’t enough conditions in normal dungeon conditions to justify it, especially if you have signet of renewal. If you’re going into an encounter where conditions are heavy, then swap in sig of renewal and empathetic bond if you want, but otherwise you’ll get more benefit from bringing something else (like QZ and Wilderness Knowledge or Sig of Stone and Bark Skin if you want to be more tanky).
Also, considering swapping your warhorn for a torch and swap out your flame trap for something more useful. As good as the horn is overall, you won’t utilize the swiftness in dungeons much and a single stack of fury and might don’t really justify the weapon swap.
Outside of this, looks solid!
The Trap is a prefreance more than anything ( I use it to make a fire bubble for me when enganged or dropping it while kiteing) and definantly can switched out for something else. But the warhorn, in my opinion is a great boon when used appropriatly Its not for the single stack of might its used for the one 18 seconds of Fury and switftness which then in combat switch also grants additional Fury and Swiftness Check minor traits from skirmishing not sure what the + is but I believe it to be somewhere around 10s more meaning starting combat with warhorn out, using the horn then the birds followed by a weapon switch to greatsword and swooping in. following up with a rampage means a whole lot of uptime of fury and swiftness, Meaning more crits = more damage and Pet survivability. Which to me is important considering the lack of investment in the beastmastery Tree.
The condition thing may or may not be overkill depending the timing when conditions are either pulled or cleansed I eir on the side of safety and use both I notice conditions are removed faster ((shorter time of condition being up overall when using both, also fighting inside springs really ensures nothing stacks on you at all.)) I do agree if you run a dungeon partically lacking in conditions being applied then switching that trait will be more benificial to you. I would consider Vigerous Renewal for Mo Dodges…=more Protection uptime, also if you can dodge at least once every 4s you perma protect your pet. Pet gets 4s of protection everytime you dodge from stacking benifits of Companion’s Defense and Fortifying Bond.
here posted my version of a tanky greatsword Great surviability, in the melee, Lots of Dodges that grant protection steady critical rate 33% with fury That grant pet heals and might. Heavy Hp Pets who cosistantly eat all conditions at me, a CC save once every 90s. Stability for 24 seconds ((thats actually a pretty good portion of a boss fight)) out of every 2.5 minutes. With Axes and Flame trap I can kite fairly effectively when needed to do so.
Armor and accessory’s are Soldiers all the way giving both Vit and Tough ness and a strong level Power, Armor Supurior Rune of the Dolyak nothing like a bit extra vit and tough but mostly for the extra regen giving the Ranger 3 nearly always uptime sources of Regen ((multiple sources slightly makes up for the lack of Healing power in the build its somewhere around 500-600 a sec by my estimation)). Sigil of Water for weapon for the heal thats about guarenteed every 10 seconds, also gives a bit of support.
Strategy is get into battle and start auto attacking while constantly strafing to the rearside of the mob, Use healing spring practically on cooldown and swoop in and out of the spring to gain an extra splash of healing. Hopefully your pet will eventually grab aggro making it much easier to whack, and yes my bears typically survive big boss bashes giving time to swap them when hp is low on them. Don’t forget to use other greatsword skills like counter attack when a boss rears for a big attack It wil block and allow you to stay ontop keeping a steady constant dps on it. When roaming keep the axe out and horn before going into melee giving a nice start up of Might and fury to start a fight with.
I stack Power/precision/critical damage, Traits are Precision Toughness and Health and a splash of Mug
Female Norn cause no one expects a 7ft tall female to just dissapear.
