using -32 did the trick.
quite unexpected since I used to run it with -64 without issue back when that was in beta.
anywho, I’ll see ya’ll in game!
haha tried again a couple times.
tried run as admin…
trying a -repair now
next will be restart
then i’ll bother support.
Any other tips for once I actually get in game?
and now the game wont launch :’(
Currently patching… and judging from the fact of just how long it’s taking, looks like A LOT has changed. (40 mins in & only @ 84%)
Anything Major I should do/know before I even hop in?
Last I was playing, there was no legendary armor, should I bother working for ascended anymore?
Speccing for healing was pretty pointless, game was all about maximizing DPS.
Is this still the case?
Are any members of the long gone [VIS] still around?
My build for guardian was:
apparently none of my old bookmarked links work anymore…
this works still!

is that terribad, or workable?
PLEASE MARK WHAT IS GEM SHOP EXCLUSIVE
With this mordremoth event, a few of the earlier exclusive skins was from the gem shop wich I bought with real money. If I ever knew ther where obtainable in-game sometime, I would just waited.
I feel this is really unfair, and I will always have second thoughts about buying skins ever again.
I know people will reason this with “you got it earlier”, but that’s not the case. It’s the principle that matter!/sad customer
I’m a bit of the opposite, but the same. I wouldn’t have bothered trying to get the items in game if I knew they were ever offered in the gem store… Removes the sense of achievement for me. Instead of “Dang he spent a lot of time farming those blooms” it’s “oh… That looks nice… But he bought it…”
/wiki <item name>
There’s a link to the gw2spidy entry for that item which has all he stats & info you could ever want
I have… 4? (Maybe 5?) TA skins left…
I don’t really want them.
I want Faolain’s blossom… ironic that what in most players eyes one of the worst stat set ascended acc’s is the most difficult to get.
Now with nerfs it’s even more painful to get… Just moved back to dungeon after getting tired of getting all of my skins from PvP… :’(
I used to laugh at these kinds of threads. I seriously thought people were exaggerating. I don’t know if my MMR has gone up recently or something, but I am finding that I increasingly get matched with people who are brand new to their professions (or even to PvP in general). I primarily play unranked since the que time seems to be a few minutes shorter.
I haven’t had a close match in a long time. It’s always a stomp, one way or the other. Winning in this fashion is not satisfying, and losing in it is demoralizing. I frequently see people who don’t even know what their downed skills do!
In line with what others in this thread have said, I have especially noticed this in the last couple of days. I’ve actually taken to suffering through the longer que times in ranked since the games I play there are usually at least reasonably close. Though, this is probably because of it being a separate MMR and me not having played enough games of it yet.
Was going to attach a picture, but GW2 Efficiency just treats the pic as a link to the site….
Ranked is definitely more consistent. As for people playing unfamiliar professions, I blame dailys, I’m guilty of this whenever guardian isn’t one of them needed for a win
GW2 is realy like driving a car without a Tachometer. Imagine, you need to calculate everytime how fast you drive from A to B, because your car has no Tachometer.
If Raids are going to be that hard, that only the experienced and coordinated players can kill it, than give us please a DPS Tool, at least the ability to see our own DPS. With “Enrage Timers” I rly want to know how much DPS I`m doing, without knowing your DPS, you cant improve your gameplay. Players will start to test new builds, new rotations etc. I know from other MMORPGs that you are never going to use the same build/rotation for every raid boss, it will be different. In a 10min fight you are going to mess up a lot with your rotation, but with a DPS tool, you will start to improve yourself each week.
Raids are for Guilds, if you are in a Guild than the people will accept you, they are not going to kick you out of a raid because of your DPS. They will accept you and even teach you to get better at the game.
BTW there is already a META or KICK without any DPS tools, so it will not change anything for the pugs. Im only asking for a personal DPS Tool, that only shows your own DPS.
Car analogy is a bad one…
1. a tachometer tells you how fast your engine spins, not how fast you’re going.
2. People know the distance between A and B. In guildwars, there’s no #’s on healthbars.
It’s much more like driving as fast as you can without an odometer, and without a speedometer. Which, GW2 and car driving, it’s really not that hard to tell if you’re going faster than you did last time….
You can’t include DPS bars without exposing Healthbar #‘s.
There is a reason the devs have not supplied these numbers. I highly doubt they’ll go back on this.
All solo, all ranked. 3 of those matches had disconnects and/or major lag.
It was rubberband city for people living in certain areas it seemed.
I think that may have seriously thrown off matchmaking.
Overall, at least for me, it generally feels balanced playing from 6-9 eastern. Any other time, or weekends… Not so much.
thats why gw1 RA was so nice. no mmr, so fast matchups, tmd = very short matches. if your team was that terrible it was over in <2 mins. since no mmr, no streaks trying to keep u at 50% winrate.
u just got to pvp and have fun. what happened to that part?
I miss RA from GW1. Because it was fast n easy. Especially liked the auto keep team on win, auto kick to TA on 5 wins. I’d love to go back to that.
EDIT: yeah… The whole red-resign thing… But that’s why there shouldn’t be a resign option, so you get locked into the 10 mins. Will make it so only players willing to play actually will. If someone afk’s since they can’t resign, dishonor slap, too much dishonor, banned from HoTM for a while.

I think atm unranked gets the same rewards as ranked no ? If not i’m ok with changing it.
The only downside you won’t have the league rewards since there are no leaderbords by definition in unrankedAnd you are also right bringing more folks into unranked/ ranked by removing hot join rewards will decrease the Queue times.
( Let’s face it there is just no reason to defend hotjoin rewards as it stands right now exept if it hurts your daily farm… but pvp isn’t the farm zone 2.0 or am i wrong ? like i said previously zerging , playing 4v2 , swaping teams and let your self fall down isn’t healthy at all for the game and isn’t simply Spvp.)
Completely agree. And yes ranked/un-ranked currently get the same rewards, I was saying it should stay that way.
Just gonna be lazy and repost a reply here since I’ve already had to answer this kind off thread before.
No. For one I find it extremely boring to sit in the lobby and wait for a que in ranked or unranked by myself knowing I could likely be fighting a premade group. And no I’m not complaining about premades, I’m okay with them I just don’t fancy the idea of fighting them when I qued alone. Secondly I like hotjoin, it’s more fun to me. I like getting to play matches with the same people and getting a chance to chat, I like the more chill atmosphere, I like instantly being able to join. It’s just more fun to me and I don’t mind getting less reward because I enjoy it more anyways. Leave it like it is, people will play what they want to play lol.
But if more people were playing non-hotjoin you wouldn’t have to wait as long in queue. You mention you like being able to play with the same people… But don’t like pre-mades? Seems to me that you should just form a pre-made yourself, that way you’re on an even playing field with others, AND you get to play with the same people.
+1 for no hotjoin rewards
Unranked should get the same rewards, as it is a good build testing place, offers different maps, and is available to new to PvP players.
Or 0 seconds, once you get hit.
The best height monitor system was what they had in the one Spiderman videogame… It was really simple, but effective.
Just out of fear of being that guy and to avoid more… “Toxic” players I always start my own group. “P1, P2, P3 n00b” and strike off paths as we/I do them. Even though I’ve been playing since launch lol.
I find that it usually results in the group having 2 players who really know what their doing. And 1 who really doesn’t BUT everyone goes in willing to speak up, ask and answer questions. I find the shorter queue and get alongyness makes the overarching time/path faster, or at least feels faster.
Get a prebuilt @$250 ish & upgrade it probably the best $ move atm. Just make sure the wattages all line up!
This seems like a pretty easy solution.
1. Add me to friends list.
2. Message me when I get on.
3. I’ll help you with p-story
:) all are welcome
Definitely needed. I’ve been having nightmarish flashbacks to bukdek byway when I go into the beta stuff.
They already have a surrender button, it’s just a bit hidden:
Alt+f4
Start menu
Control Panel
Programs and features
Select Guild Wars 2
Uninstall
All joking aside though, there’s just too high a potential for abuse.
Keep playing, get your practice in, maybe tweak your build and test some random things out.
I hope you don’t need to hit lvl 100 fractal… I was looking at the maths. Looks like you’ll need all the normal plus 5 infusions (for 70 AR), AND 3 plus 25 infusions to total 145 AR needed for the minimum 1% health loss per tick @100
I hope we wont be able to just outgear agony and actualy have to avoid the boss attacks.
I hope so too. I was simply evaluating the current curve.
I mean, mastery aside, I think people could do with 3 plus14 infusions (and the usual 70) and they’ll lose 48% per tick. Not all people, but some/enough.

there will be a mastery to reduce that so we don’t know what will be the “standard” max
Let’s hope so! 753k gold in reagents alone? Pretty sure everyone would pass on that noise. Even if, imo, the back piece is cool as anything. Not sure if I could let go of my mawdrey though

3 things should be relayed to players via in game mail.
1. Vendor location change to Priory area EDIT: DOUBLE CLICK
2. Even if they’re not scheduled for blooms for day 1, we should know so we’re not waiting around for something that isn’t coming.
3. If blooms are going to be “retired”
I already have enough event specific items I’m holding on to “just in case” new or different rewards will come out, if the event will be held again at some point, etc.
For example, I have 210 blooms, idk if I should hold on to them in hopes of getting more at a later date, and being able to get the shoulders and gloves I want? Or just spend them all on what I can afford? Or are there going to be different rewards or a mystic forge recipie released later I should save them for?
Having a “The current rewards available are all that will ever be available for X currency. No further acquisition of X will be possible.” type message would be GREAT. (And not just for blooms)

I joined in on the action last night, I get that rewards are bugged, BUT also, I kept getting only bronze rating. I just simply couldn’t get to the events fast enough. And when I did, I was lucky to exchange any blows. As a hammer, mace/focus guardian once again I’m left in the dust.
Now once I get my Longbow….Ummmmm…. I ran as a guard using lootstick… got 17 stacks. Try that maybe?
I got 0 rewards whatsoever because things were bugged.
“Lootstick” or no, the goal shouldn’t be “run here, hope you make it in time before the perma-swift ranged part of the zerg kills everything in less than 30s”
Maybe it was just the map I was on, but at events were completed in far far less time than is reasonable. It was more like whackamole than an invasion.
Mega server should scale down the max pop on maps when events like this are running. That way it will actually take some skill.
EDIT: It was just the map I was on. Did pretty well tonight. Had fun, still faceroll as anything though. But what isn’t these days?

I don’t think I’m not at max yet, but almost there!
I was wondering what I’d do with luck after that.
You can use it in the crafting of Grow Lamp, Bloodstone Dust, Lucky Great Ram Lantern… So I’d suspect they’ll just add more crafting or mystic forge recipes to deal with it.
Maybe an eater, maybe a merchant, but doubtful.
Grind, even for skins is worked to have a variety of ways to accomplish. I.e. getting dungeon skins by running dungeons and/or PvP.
Getting materials by TP. Gathering, salvaging, mystic forge etc.
And as always everything is optional unless you choose to grind
In the current map, you can also get additional mastery points via the beta achievements – eg kill Hylek
I didn’t realize you needed xp AND mastery points. I saw 3 in my hero panel, but couldn’t spend them.
Without the glider unlocked, I keep seeing the mastery points on the map that yell. “Come here! Unlock the glider!” But… So far 3 of them I can’t figure how to get to without any masteries…
Anyone got any direction for me?
Ranger not announced yet because it is perfect, and requires the least CBT
I’m confident that on release it will be difficult.
Just like the teq rehash, dungeons originally, etc.
But they need to keep up with the players ability to consume, breakdown, and share strategies that turn content into faceroll easy.
Still a subsidiary, still need to follow rules.
They now control marketing, or more accurately are responsible for it, as well as sales.
This would mean steam may well be possible, cantha unlikely related to the publishing aspect.
It would seem to me, that the issue isn’t that achievements need boosts. It’s that most achievements are grind over time, and not skill based.
There are things I would love to see as an achieve/title. For example, everyone has weapons they love and ones they hate. We have 1000 kills for all of them. What if there was one for 1,000 kills with all of them? Sure, you could grind it but part of that time you would be using something you did not like.
Take the hammer. The revenant is the only time I actually liked it as swinging around a stick with a heavy piece of metal on one end strikes me as a bit uncouth.
Weapon master achievement definitely needs a title. It’s the most influential on my gameplay of all the achievements. I helped make the wiki page for that in early days. Determined the least number of professions needed to achieve it… Guardian, Ranger, Engineer (at the time, the elite specs may have changed that).
But I don’t need a buff for it. I’d wear the title with pride regardless.
That’s definitely a strong argument against the original suggestion, but it could be turned around too; a minor boost, which doesn’t markedly improve effectiveness but just gives a small increase in rewards, gives veteran players a nice little increase in rewards, while giving casual players extra reason to work towards these achieves, especially the simpler ones.
The new content, rewards for overall AP, and things like Faolain’s Blossom, Karmic converter, etc. Already provide incentive…
What’s the point of getting boosts? To make it easier to get achievements/titles. The point of getting achievements/titles? Strictly for show, and sense of achievement IMO.
If it’s to get boosts, to get achievements, where’s the cycle stop? Even if boosts are minor, without an end point the gap grows.
Also, when boosts are added it becomes a grind to feel like you’re not falling behind, the TP would become, albeit gradually, inflated at an ever increasing rate. Not good. If, for example a super bowl winner was allowed a +1% cap room bonus, it would screw up all kinds of things after a few years. People seem pretty well satisfied with a ring and something to list in their history.

I’m not familiar with Super bowl rules, but i presume that would improve your ability/chances of winning. That’s not what i’m suggesting.
I don’t like the idea as stated, but if unlocking the title also gave you some kind of boost (not to effacity; then they just become mandatory or highly required, which achievements shouldn’t be), for instance the dungeon master one could give you 5 extra tokens per dungeon run, honorary skritt could give you a chance of obtaining extra ‘junk’ items whenever one would normally drop – little things which have little significant impact but still make earning the title feel a little more like an accomplishment.
none of the effects would require you to wear the title in question, though.
Haha, yes it would give you an advantage over others.
Ok, so you get more dungeon tokens with the dungeon master achievement, now the “get all skins” dungeon oriented achievements are easier to get, now the sense of achievement for those is lowered and must be increased via an additional even larger reward. Again fueling a cycle that overall is unhealthy for the game.

I always found it funny that the currency named “Karma” was the one that got hoarded most.
I feel like it should’ve been more like PvP rewards tracks are now.
You don’t buy things with it, but you get rewarded regularly for earning it.
Also, I’d be more inclined to check out karma/heart vendors when leveling if after completing a heart I didn’t have to
1. Actually knew which heart I just completed. Make “last completed” a different color or shiny or something.
And/Or If didn’t have to go back to the vendor. Though I’d prefer not to have a shopping window pop up.
Post leveling they had a good idea with the “Beaded” weapons I’d like to see more of that. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sun_Bead
The exotic armor sets were cool. But exotics are ‘old news’
When all else fails, karmic converter
There’s plenty of reasons not to do this listed above. Here’s another:
This encourages a gap between old and new players, as some (many) titles are earned over extensive time. (And gaps for casuals)
Old players get boost for titles. New players unboosted.
New content & associated title comes out.
Boosts (not necessarily skill) help old player get title faster. New unboosted player is still working on it when…
New content&title comes out, to give old player something to do.
Boosts help old player get title faster, New player still working on the prev title let alone this one when….
See the pattern? After a while, New people won’t come in, they’ll have no hope of “catching up.”
Then a decision must be made; do you slow content release so casuals and newbies/casuals can catch up?
Actually, a confirmation before exiting the game would be really helpful, for the simple reason that if you’re playing in windowed mode and accidentally hit the red X in the upper right corner, the game immediately closes. (I suspect alt-F4 does the same, but that’s a lot harder to hit by accident.)
Ew… No. When I want out, I want completely out. FAST.
Sincerely not a fan of the “are you sure you want to leave?” screens
I miss the GW1 F12 → C (for character select)
Glad to hear the default changed so we can hit enter now!
Just need arrow keys + enter to scroll through characters at the selection screen and it’ll be golden.
You left out the weird 4 stat combos avail on max stat trinkets, etc.
Advertising the selling of “access portals” (home instances, possibly mesmer portals) along with advertising items is certainly not allowed.
This makes no sense to me. Why home instance portals? The price for entry would inherently be equal or less than TP equivalent items… Otherwise no one would logically pay…
Am I missing something?
I’ve played most of the game without map chat enabled, usually it’s ranting or just general discussion.
Most F2P accounts will be people coming in who already know someone who has an account. At very least they can post on Facebook, twitters, YouTubes, and likely get a surprisingly good response.
/wiki command should be demonstrated to new FTP accounts in game during tutorial time.
Thanks!
Didn’t know maw was a pull. If that’s the case it should say in the skill description (or the wiki needs updating)
Does anyone know if this DH trait is triggered by ring of warding, dragon’s maw, line of warding, sanctuary, hunter’s ward etc?
Time to not let people play anyway they want

I’m in support of the trinity, but not class based. Which I think was the original goal of Anet…
Example party of 5 guardians could fulfil healer, dps, tank, cc.
Four necros and a ranger? No problem.
5 people pressing 1 for 15 minutes with no armor on?
Nah… “Play the way you want”shouldn’t be “wanna smash your face on the keyboard?! You can!”
Even if it’s one dungeon that requires trinity, I don’t understand what anyone would lose? Oh no, you can’t get… Tokens?.. For Exotics..?
You don’t want to wait for content? Then go ahead with facerolling AC. I’m used to waiting a minute or two just queuing PvP matches, waiting for a dungeon should be easy enough.
Any chance the activation time could be dropped by a 1/4 sec down to 3.5?
This way it at least matches the time to stomp and makes it somewhat viable in PvP. As it stands now there’s little no incentive to activate…
I know the stomp can be interrupted/miss, but so can the GT res so it matches there. With the added downside of CD removing the passive, and the small range, I see almost no reason to activate.
Exception, guild lords, ish…
Thoughts?
Hmm… Just thought of a good way to raise guild funds… Penny auctions!
For me it seems the scritt have a high propensity for learning, but short term memory.
This would explain why in groups they become very smart remembering by way of more constant communication, enforcing their memory, and providing a hive-mind-esque appearance.
When separated or in smaller groups (less communication), they forget more, and gather less intel… Becoming “dumb” or at very least, becoming more focused on a single topic.
Human population in game (and life) isn’t too far removed, but less noticeable because of a better memory (and longer range comms systems). Allowing geographic density to be less of a necessity.
