great ideas in this forum. I also would see a darker night with the option to illuminate it using a torch or glowing glyph of some sort. Also, more distinguished weather, blowing leaves, heavy rain and thunder where visibility is bad and such.. But hey, I think this is not gonna happen since it would be the icing on the cake that is not ready yet….
the problem with any exploit rules is that they (game makers) depend on the gamer to know if they exploit or not. Imagine a total noob, never touched an MMO in his/her life finding a so called exploit and thinking nothing of it because there is no experience or concept on how this all is supposed to work.
Would it be fair to them to get banned? Even if they realize something is wrong with the game, they may not be aware of what is actually happening and what they do with it is, in the eyes of the game creators, illegal. Wouldn’t they think hey, its up to the creators to fix the game not up to me to point them to their mistakes…?
+1 for ArchonWing.9480’s post above

TBH, since the daily’s changed I haven’t been doing them at all.. Before it was all doable in one area (maybe look around for the variety of mob kills) but now it seem one has to go different places to complete them. So I am just ignoring the daily thing..
I support GW2 going commando..
Not sure if any of the dev even read some of these here but here goes my suggestion.
I’m a casual player, got a Ranger and Mesmer to 80 and had a lot of fun doing this. Currently I am still logging on with my Mesmer but not too often any more. I still think GW2 is the best MMO out there and am enjoying it very much but have noticed that, once I hit 80, I don’t play that much any more. I know, there is a lot to do yet but to me the level was something ‘to show for’.
I play MMO’s versus just the offline games because there is a competition with real players versus just the computer IQ.
I think GW2 needs something that shows advancements even after level 80. Not saying to up the level cap, but to have something in place that shows one’s dedication to the game on a smaller incremental basis, and not only through armor and weapons.
not a fan of Neon colors in a fantasy MMO, so would vote against it. Perhaps if the application of these colors could be limited… but then again.. ppl would QQ to add this part and that part to the list.. so, still against it..
Only a Mesmer can have her clones fight the mob off while picking some blueberries..
Staff 2 (Phase Retreat) will retreat mesmers (pull them back to gain distance). this on occasion has put me up onto things behind me, also killed me and got me stuck in mountains several times. This may have been what you have witnessed.
I use the right mouse button in combination to the trackball to look around, in addition to this, pressing the left mouse button gets you running. So left and right mouse buttons together will run your character in the direction you ‘steer’ the mouse.
So yes, you can use the mouse to move your character. Better then just using WASD!
I have never taken so many screenshot in all the MMO’s I played combined as I have taken from Guild Wars2. Beautiful game that makes one come back every day to play.
why not adjust the system to make it unkickable when in the last stages of the dungeon? Why would anyone want to kick ppl anyway at the very end of a dungeon other then to be a kitten?
So just take the option away at a certain stage of the dungeon and open it up again when finished..
Love the squeak, leave it alone!
this made me LOOOL: “Shake It Off!” What the… OH GOD ITS ALL OVER ME!!!
I could be wrong but I don’t think these files are individual mp3 or wav files. Usually this kind of stuff is in a compressed database so not easily accessible…..
I usually wait a little bit when dead.. unless I am rally miffed that I died, mostly due to kite laziness, then I tp instantly..
When it happens that someone will waypoint while rezzed, it may be that they are just looking at the map, picking a waypoint and then tp there without even being aware of being rezzed..
Made a video of some random Fraps clips I have. Loosely following the song lyrics.
Can’t wait for better camera movement options.
WOW, this makes the game even more epic. Great video!!!
I bought 5, opened them and got 1 abyss out of that.. So, depends if you are a gambling person.. Save money=sell, gamble=open…
Norn dance has to go. It’s funny at first but gets old fast. Always feel I have to put the jester hat on when /dance which I avoid as much as possible..
From the beginning of playing GW2 I have been using both mouse buttons to move. Is there a downside to this method? Also wondering how many of you are using it instead of w?
started GW2 at early access with a ranger, leveled to 80, then rolled a mesmer (now 80). Definitely took longer to get the mesmer to 80. A lot (all?) classes out DPS me but the mesmer is so much more fun to play!!
although I think it will never happen.. great idea….
another ‘problem’ might be that when you have the same weapon in both sets, you still have to deal with the skill charge times. Switching to the same weapon and your charge time still remains from your previous set. It wouldn’t affect the gun too much since there is a small recharge time but others may be useless due to this..
a lighter area with less shadows would help see some colors in order to give feedback..
Totally well deserved award. GW2 is still the best MMORPG out there, can’t deny that!
Legendaries shouldn’t be sellable due to the fact that they use their status if they are simple as that. Now there is no difference in between the hard working folks earning their legendary through dedication to GW2 and the fresh 80, two weeks in Gw2 shelling out the G’s…
hmm.. must be very random.. I got my stuff, my guild mate didn’t (same time). His inventory had slots left and the chest didn’t give anything..
Guess I am nice and he is not..
was wondering that myself.. I too think it is a mix of ppl who don’t know better or forget that there is a % taken for selling at the TP and ppl who need to empty their bags while in battle somewhere and don’t want to destroy their items..
from looking through this post, the majority is pro rez, myself included. I always rez ppl when downed somewhere, a little more cautious in active battle but I do try.
Some just up and run but that’s OK with me. I do not wait for a TX, it’s enough for me that I get the fuzzy feeling of having rezzed someone and saved some silvers..
Now, if we could to this in RL…….
looks cool to me..
dye on weapons would be awesome!!!!!
..“no one can hit me up here…” as I am standing on top of the columns in WvW.
zzzzzzzZZZZiiinnnnnnnng…
I can see this being frustrating, putting some effort into the puzzle only to get zergd by 30 opposing..
On the other hand, I don’t expect anyone to be fair when it comes to PvP or WvW. Once I am out there, I have to rely on myself. In OP’s case I would have said ‘holy kittens’. done a ctrl 9 and recorded 30 weapons fired upon me..epic. Then picked a time where 29 of them are in bed and done the JP again..
7/10 for above. I like the ‘snobbish’ look and at least this one is somewhat manly looking not like some of the baby faces out there..
Here is mine, thanks Usagi.4835 for the tip, fixed my post (Duh):

page 2 made me LOL !!! still…
one thing one has to admit though.. It is weird to have an option for a more realistic (thicker) shape and to see the boobs reduced to moob size…
got 2 level 80 toons and with my play style I noticed that I was always 2-3 levels behind on both of them. I am sure I rushed a bit too. Either doing 100% map completion or moving to other same level areas should even that out.
On the other hand, fighting higher level mobs can give you better drops… I think most of us are in the same boat, getting to level 80 fast. I had a 43% map completion on pretty much both of my toons when I hit 80. Now that I am, I can take it easy and enjoy ‘god mode’ in low level areas to get my 100% ’s…
totally permanent.. awesome price, thanks a-net
I leveled a ranger to 80 pretty much just doing PvE going to hearts, waypoints, vistas… it went pretty fast. Tried a mesmer afterwards and got stuck on it because I like the play style. The ranger was a Norn, the Mesmer is a Human so the starting area and personal story is different.
Taking my time now and going for 100% map completion. The 80 Ranger had a 42%.. Loving the game, taking my time to look around..
anet has already some good security features like the one when you log on from a different IP, it will send an authentication email to the owners email address.
I had this happen once, someone from a foreign country tried to log on.. I disallowed it and changed my password.
..very annoying to have to enter a password every time I open my inventory.. Not gonna happen…
..it may be that the underwear is not a layer but part of the avatar skin, thus can’t be colored separately..
well good to know that there is a reason behind this.. Thanks for letting us know Regina..
- My mesmer sometimes watches a Warrior taking mobs down in less time/effort.
- She never used swords, and her main choice is a GS.
- She tries to jump off the highest places into water to see if she can make it.
- She always mixes her armor sets and rages about the color differences.
- Spends way too much G’s.
- Thinks the witch sounds like a Dalek.
A simple suggestion that would substantially improve the mesmer’s subpar multi-target PVE abilities while not overpowering them in PVP.
Illusions should not dissipate when their target dies. It discourages focus fire which is a powerful damage mitigation tool in PVE, and it would make things much easier for arguably the worst PVE profession in the game. It is just so easy for a mesmer to get overwhelmed by multiple targets given their general lack of AOE damage compared to other professions. My proposed fix would greatly even the playing field.
The current system doesn’t even make sense flavor wise. If the illusions exist only in the minds of the targets, why can other creatures attack them? If an illusion can only attack one target, that target should be the only thing that can attack said illusion. Conversely, if an illusion can be attacked by multiple creatures, it should be able to retaliate against any of those creatures. It is only logical, and would be a great balancing factor for PVE Mesmers.
This makes so much sense both in terms of flavor and in terms of balance. Please consider this seriously.
Totally agree with this ^^ if the lore is that the illusions are only in the minds of their targets then either they are only attackable by that target and vanish (explode) after the target is dead or if they exist in all of the surrounding enemies then they shouldn’t vanish until the last one is dead.
I think skimpy (fantasy) and covering (practical) are pretty much even on some characters. I play a female Norn and female Human and have no complains about the Human armor selection. Norn, I have to agree, are a bit heavier on the practical side so not too revealing there.
I am just glad GW2 is not like another game that will be out soon.. let’s call it ‘Maid and Bowl’. There I would definitely not play a female character!!!
GW2 is just right IMO..
Thing is, while many of us mesmers obviously enjoy a more complex and intelligent playstyle, we at least expect to be as potent as the easier professions.
As it stands now, mesmers have to put a whole lot of effort in order to achieve stuff that all other professions do a bit better with much less effort. Sustained AoE is a good example for this.
You have a point there…
Not sure about the purpose of this post.. announcement?
