Is it still too early to start requesting SAB skin mounts?
I don’t know about you guys but I feel the appropriate amount of time has passed to start a petition for this. Seriously – no announcement, no news, not even a Tweet. It’s like Anet doesn’t even care.
You necrod a 9 month old thread to tell us you don’t play much anymore?
Also keep in mind that in terms of cycles, the game considers Dawn and Dusk to be part of day time and not night. Thus, every day cycle will be 80 minutes day time and 40 minutes night time.
Although your surroundings and even your character might look like it is night time it may actually be considered day time. The best way to find out for sure is to go into a dungeon or fractal that is static night time or go to Verdant Brink during night time events (To make sure that it is night time). If it doesn’t change to Twilight then you have an issue. If it does then you’re just missing night time in open world.
I’ve had Eternity for a few years now and I can tell you in open world I rarely ever see it in Twilight form. This is because the game in open world is 2/3 day time every 2 hours so it’s very easy to miss night time.
Errr generally speaking if you beat the final boss and everyone is out of combat (with 4 of you dead nobody is in combat) you get the pop up to respawn at checkpoint.
I don’t really understand why you needed someone to res you tbh
You only get to level once. Enjoy the ride cos eventually you’ll end up with more ToK than you’ll ever know what to do with.
Take me as a case in point:
To be clear – Legendary Armour does not have selectable runes. It simply does not destroy your existing runes when you replace them.
Agreed with Ori – this is not something they did over a weekend. What you’re looking for, while a great idea, will not happen any time soon.
Logistically, armour in general takes the Anet team long to create. Making 3 sets of transforming armour with minimal clipping took even longer. Now imagine class specific sets. It’s just not feasible unfortunately.
Yup however its not so much the armor as the things you can do during the rdy check window. You can swap whatever during that time frame and lets say for some reason you expect your team is lacking in condi damage then swap around everything for that purpose and click the ready check. Hence even in Spvp people have multiple sets of armor. If your team composition changes you should always adjust.
Omg can you please go read up on PvP. What you are saying makes no sense.
This is not how PvP works in the slightest. Please stop creating drama and asking for a systm that has existed since launch.
Were not talking about people with multiple armor sets clogging their bags but instead one set of armor compared to another set of armor. The argument I’m hearing is that pvp players need several armors to equal to one set of legendary armor. That sort of odd statement in itself proves my statement and if its the person is going to need countless sets of ascended armor to stay competitive I’d say your only fooling yourself and probably wish for the death of pvp. People reading those kind of comments aren’t going to like those kind of remarks at all.
Why do pvp players need several armor sets? Have you ever played pvp? And more important yet, do you know how the stats work in pvp? Please learn about pvp before saying these arguments.
You do know that wvw=pvp and Spvp=pvp right?
If people talk about pvp with armors its not Spvp since its lacking the big S S S S S infront of it.
No, some people here are saying how in pvp matches legendary armor is better, so not all people are talking about wvw. The person I answered was one of them.
Oh and here I thought PvP was Player vs Player but apparently it stands for Blob vs Door.
At this point I’d say it’s best to ignore those mindlessly defending raiding domination on the rest of the game and see about cutting our losses to save what little remains of the other modes.
Legendary armor has pushed thing to the point that all legendaries outside of their cosmetic appearance should have all abilities completely negated in WVW and PvP. Raids when done wrong as I view the path Anet has taken can and will destroy an MMO. The field is literally filled with sunken WoW killers who died due to poor raid implementation and overfocusing.
In WVW and PvP core and elites should be equal in power and legendary items shouldn’t be allowed to swap stats moving forward. A PvP match will start and the raider will have an unfair advantage over dedicated PvP players for they can see the composition change their build, change their armor stats, and even change their rubes without much effort at all. When you add in the swap change from legendary weapons and backpack it’s too much the scales of balance are too much. Anet pushed it too far these raiders say the games at the best balance its ever been but that’s only for raid builds and raids builds alone the pvp build are different and all PvP oriented modes have taken a drastic nosedive since Anet went on this raid warpath. So if they want to make legendary armor for raiders keep it out of PvP, WVW, and Fractals. .
Have you ever played PvP before? You can stat swap gear as it is. Please read up on how PvP works before saying things like:
“A PvP match will start and the raider will have an unfair advantage over dedicated PvP players for they can see the composition change their build, change their armor stats, and even change their rubes without much effort at all”
Anyone can do that regardless of gear.
Please learn about the game modes you all keep advocating because it seems most of you here don’t really understand how PvP really works.
You can’t get anything Legendary from any form of PvP alone.
Legendary Armor is the pinnacle of PvE rewards.
The Ascension.
And it was also (to me) what makes Gw2 special, but when you making the best gear in the game only obtainable by raiding, you are not giving me a choice, the only choice I have here is either do raids or quit game if I want to stand a chance to play against someone is fully geared.
In pvp you don’t need legendary gear because you already have all the stats and runes you need. In pvp it does not matter if you use exotic or ascended or even white items, you always have the same stats. Saying that someone with legendary items is more powerful in pvp is not true.
However, in wvw stats do matter but ascended is as powerful as legendary, so again you don’t need legendary items, only ascended.
I guess people can want things for reasons other than the purely mechanical though.
For the aesthetic? (ok, so maybe not in this case lol, but you get what I mean).
Just because he’s a PvP’r, and mechanically the armor serves him no purpose in PvP, that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t want it. Or desire it.
I guess the question is, why is raiding the only game mode “blessed” with legendary armour?
Yes, as an incentive for raiders, but I’m talking about in the over scope of the game and MMO’s in general. Why is raiding almost always the magical child?
I already explained my point. This was a post about advantage and need not desires and wants. I wouldn’t have commented if the OP had simply written “I want legendary gear available to all game modes” because that would have been nothing new.
but the OP said need and disadvantage which is just wrong.
@ Rawr.9467 most ppl are not talking about spvp they are talking about wvw. If they where not i mixed up what they where asking and talking about (there was also promise of an spvp legendary armor set a long time ago so i can see why ppl where anoyed by this being a raid thing only if you where an spvp player). So keep that in mind i am talking about wvw where you have the least reward for time least access to high in gear. Over all the places in the game where you do changes your combo a lot and where you show off your armor or the things you build up to show off over all.
At the end of the day your a raider and all the ppl arone you are raiders too so they have the same looking skins and more then likely a set combo that never gets changes.
He said PvP he did not say WvW. I am sticking to what the OP said and not what you assume.
Even if he meant WvW and not PvP the same point sticks. It is significantly cheaper to own ascended armour than legendary. Furthermore, Anet have given us the options to change the stats on our gear and it costs very little. Is it a hassle? Definitely. Is it a hassle to make the legendary armour though? Even more so.
If you cannot afford to change your ascended gear and runes once in a while then you definitely cannot afford legendary armour anyway.
So again I maintain that this is not a need but a want. You WANT legendary armour because it is convenient once you have it. But no, it is not a need.
As the ppl who tend to do raids more then most have the best armor most gold etc.. in the game or over all know as the haves and the ppl who tend to do pvp only have less or the have nots. The raiders are more able to swap combos on there armor then the pvp players so yes pvp players need legendary armor then raiders.
Let’s stick to the topic here. A pure PvP player is saying that Legendary gear is only available to Raiders and thus he is missing out. He only PvP’s. When is he going to use this gear?
That and in a lot of ways there more viable builds in pvp then there are in raids and being able to swap combos on the fly is way more important in pvp then in raids too. Relay the very ideal of legendary effects of swapping fits the old gw2 and that is pvp aimed way more then the new gw2 of raids.
You can change builds on the fly in PvP regardless of what armour you have and it is all free. If you do not understand how PvP works then please, first read up on what you are talking about.
Legendary weapons and armor fit the gw2 play the way you want to seen some what in pvp even open pve. Raids is play the way you need to or play with this set of gear and this rune set and this build and this class or please do not raid with my group…. if any thing legendary items are waited on raids because they are never going to be changed.
You are going off topic again. He is saying that Raiders have an advantage which is not the case because you don’t need gear in PvP. A player with white armour has the exact same stats as one with legendary. A level 2 player has the exact same stats as a level 80. Please read up on how the PvP system works. If he wants the gear for skins then it is a want – he is at no disadvantage.
Sry for answering for him and if this is not want he believe but there is something very wrong here and anet needs to know this. So this is less in response to you and more of anet.
@anet for the love of your game please stop stop it now before its too late. Gw2 was the different mmorpg and your making it into a gear grind mmorpg. Where you must have a gear score a dps meters heal boons up time etc.. and a comp of the right classes and builds. You cant play the way you want to for the items you want to only get new skills and gear that you will never get to show to ppl because every one you know will have them because you as a player are only playing with ppl who can and will only play one game type. Effect your making gw2 into what the USA is becoming super polarized into there own bubbles.
There is nothing wrong with gating content behind different game types. It is called incentive. If everyone gets the same rewards for doing different things then what’s the point? I want to show people that I’m a hardcore PvP player and worked at getting that legendary backpack just as much as I want to show off my Legendary armour to prove that I am a Raider.
What makes this game great to me is the possibility to get the best gear/rewards in the game doing whatever I want to, if I want to pvp and just do that for the rest of my life, I can. That’s why I came to Gw2, because I was tired of MUST make PVE to get my PVP armor in other games.
By putting Legendary Armor only obtainable after I clear a raid, I don’t need to explain why this is a huge mistake. I don’t matter to farm it 100x harder on pvp as long that I still can have it, as long the possibility still there. Players that makes raids MUST get it easier for SURE, but to me, what makes this game unique is everybody can have their legendary weapons doing anything they please.
Your point makes no sense to me. You say you are a pure PvP player so then you don’t need any armour to begin with. Why should you have access to unique rewards if you have no use for them? You want the skins then go play the game type associated with it.
You are in no way getting less than a raider. You have access to all ascended trinkets, armour and weapons through sole PvP play which puts you on par with a raider. This should still make no difference because, as you have already said, you are a pure PvP player so you don’t even need the gear.
Clarify why you need this gear and what advantage raiders have over PvP players because I’m not seeing it.
Legit hurt my brain to read this.
I’m also a player who works full time, but I’ve just finished Nevermore IV, off my own back and not through gem purchases. I still need about 1000g to finish it. With my game time, I’d say about a month and it’ll be finished.
^ This. I just finished Chuka and Champawat IV myself. I work full time and enjoy the game for a couple of hours a day. I should have the Legendary within the next few weeks.
This entitled whining is incredibly irritating.
Tyria is actually much larger than we see in game. It takes days to traverse across even one map not the minutes that we’re used to.
Clearly, for the sake of playability, Anet decided to shrink the maps down to make them easier to traverse.
I guess personal hygiene was the first thing to go.
Wat.
~15chars
Try actually enjoying it?
If he doesn’t enjoying it already, it’s not going to change just because he’d “try”. You can’t force enjoyment. And it’s the idea that you can that lies behind the majority of bad game decisions with the game lately.
Mentality changes when you look at things from different perspectives – if you actually read what I wrote maybe you’d have a leg to stand on with your comment. But yea let’s read the first four words and run with that.
Try actually enjoying it? So many players rush these things to get the legendary and I get it – you want the fancy skin. But at the end of the day there’s no need to rush. You’re not getting some advantage over anybody just bragging rights.
So why not enjoy the extra content? Have the objectives as something to do in the game and an incentive to revisit old areas or do parts of the game you normally wouldn’t bother with.
I’m not saying your point of view is wrong – hell I’ve rushed 3 or 4 legendaries myself. But I’ve come to realise that once I’m done with a legendary I start looking to make another one.
I’ve been working on Chuka and Champawat for about 2 weeks now – It will be the 11th legendary I’ve made – and I’m enjoying taking it easy going to old maps, doing old JP’s and content.
Maybe I’ve become more patient but you should try it. Doesn’t hurt to enjoy the ride rather than just the destination.
- we know Eternity is combined by Twilight + Sunrise, and the recipe for it is :
Eternity = Twilight + Sunrise + Gift of Mastery + Gift of FortuneYou got the Eternity recipe wrong
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Eternity just saying.
I love the confidence these people have when they state ‘facts’ they clearly know nothing about.
I’ve been playing since headstart and I’ve never seen a precursor drop (Not that I ever tried to get one to drop though). Not complaining but just take it as a positive that you’ve gotten one at all.
Glider is too small imo. Needs to be at least 2 times larger.
My 4k monitor has more space – it needs to be completely covered.
Make crow glider great again
Honestly out of all my legendaries Eternity is by far my favourite. I would love if it had more unique colours than it currently does but otherwise it’s the…greatest sword.
I’ll see myself out.
I am loving the raven glider. It’s big, sure, but so kitten gorgeous. I absolutely love filling up people’s screen with my flashy glider and blinding them with my awesomeness.
Well, one thing: I wish shadow abyss would actually show as dark black instead of transparent grey-ish, but otherwise it’s the best glider ever.
Hahaha I laughed so hard at this. Just imagining you going around like
Haha, that’s how it looks like
If you see me swagging all over your screen, say hi!
Awesome – I’ll be the guy swagging right next to you

So there is a possibility but it is unlikely especially with Living World Season 1 content.
Unless they bring back LS1 in the future. It might happen, who knows.
One can dream
I’d rather Eternity get it’s own unique skin tbh. I’ve seen some amazing concept art on what it could look like and it honestly brings me down on how little the actual eternity changes when you take into consideration you’re sacrificing a whole legendary.
I sincerely doubt they’d ever bother to change it though

Daily used to be set at 10k and was boosted up to 15k recently. Previously you could earn significantly more AP per day due to monthlies and separate daily rewards.
The daily system used to work as you want it to – You had tasks and each task gave AP. The more tasks you do the more AP you gain per day. However, Anet noted that this was very grindy and so they overhauled the system so that players need only complete 3 achievements to receive 10 AP. This means everyone receives the same amount of AP per day for doing dailies.
The idea behind the cap is so that players that have been playing since headstart do not get too far ahead (in terms of AP) of players just starting out. A difference will always be there, but a new player can’t expect to quickly catch up to a veteran.
Well as for getting too far ahead, ive seen several players above 25k AP. If the cap is just going to continue rising, its counter-intuitive to the plan ? 15K is alot of points pushed into a single category and only being able to receive 10 points per day is a bit nuts in my opinion.
We already are unable to acquire several historical achievements . I dont like the idea of being locked out of acquiring achievements based on the notion they dont want newer players to catch up/ or keeping achievements exclusive to players that log in on a daily basis. This excludes a very large portion of players and I find it quite discouraging.
The idea is that the players that have maxed out don’t continue getting AP. If I’ve got 15k AP from dailies then all dailies moving forward reward me with nothing – on the other hand, newer players are still getting rewards which closes the gap between new and veteran on a daily basis.
According to posts above the 10k cap was merged with 5k cap from monthlies which have been removed so seems like the cap was always the same.
This means that a new player joining today will eventually be able to catch up to a veteran to within 1.3k AP (IIRC)
The 1.3k refers to the retired achievements you have pointed out. I agree it sucks that there are a lot of achievements we will never be able to attain but unfortunately that’s how the situation is right now. They might remove this gap like they did when they brought back the retired pvp achievement of Revenge of the Capricorn map. So there is a possibility but it is unlikely especially with Living World Season 1 content.

If that was the case ppl would sell their gems in the tp.
They do. It’s called the Currency Exchange. It’s the portion of the game where gems are sold by players to other players.
To expand what I typed above:
- Player X gives cash to Anet to get gems. <— Anet profits right here.
- Player X trades gems to Player Y for gold. <—Anet doesn’t care what happens; they already made profit.
- Player Y spends gems on things. <—Anet doesn’t care what happens; they already made profit.
I don’t think Zealex really understands how currency exchange works.
This is shown quite plainly when a highly requested item is released. Take when they re-released the bunny ears for example – The value of gems skyrocketed in price because people were buying gems with gold way more than usual and supply of gems was decreasing making the value of them increase.
It’s very basic Supply and Demand.
yes i said that above that when ppl buy gems with gold the ratio of gems to gold also goes down meaning that for x gold you will need more gems compaired to a time where theres no popular release and vice versa correct? My issue with that is that anet will make more profit that way from only ppl that buy gems to turn into gold on a non release date since someone who buys gems to buy stuff directly from the gemstore pays a fixxed price and ppl who exchanged gold for gems for the bunny ears didnt play any real money they indirectly just raised the gems to gold racio right?
Correct, if I purchased gems for gold I gave anet nothing – but those gems came from someone and that person effectively purchased the item instead.
What you also need to keep in mind is that if the gems to gold ratio is attractive, more people will purchase gems to convert directly into gold. That means that anet is making money anyway. So a lot of people purchasing gems with gold entices people that buy gems for gold to purchase gems.
Thus, anet is still making money from people who buy gems with gold as they indirectly encourage people that spend money for gems to buy more gems so they have more liquid gold when the exchange rate is very high.
Take my case for example – I have a good salary but not much time to play every day. I’d rather spend my time doing what I want than grinding for gold. If I need gold I’ll buy gems and convert. If the exchange rate is good I’ll purchase gems to convert even if I don’t need gold as I see it as saving money in the future.
So effectively – even if the person selling gold is not buying gems – I am buying gems and at the end of the day anet makes a profit.
Always keep in mind – if a person doesn’t buy gems with money they likely wouldn’t even if the gold to gems exchange option wasn’t there.
If that was the case ppl would sell their gems in the tp.

You are not buying gems from Anet with gold. You are trading directly with other players. That is why the rate and value of gems fluctuates.
The more people buying gems with real money and trading for gold the lower the value of gems.
The more people buying gems with gold the higher the value of gems.
This is shown quite plainly when a highly requested item is released. Take when they re-released the bunny ears for example – The value of gems skyrocketed in price because people were buying gems with gold way more than usual and supply of gems was decreasing making the value of them increase.

This is not terrifying at all.
Why not all?
Honestly just glad I spent every shard I had. I was planning on saving them for when I wanted to gear up another alt but didn’t want to risk it after that announcement.
It really was short notice though and it is unfair to those that did not notice in time or were not able to get online.
As it is now, next seasons shards are just going to be another number in my wallet. \o/
So I’ve been wondering about this for quite a while now and I couldn’t really find any recent topics on the matter.
So my question is; what is the lore behind the PC being able to die and resurrect. Why can we resurrect and NPC’s like Eir are killed and can never be resurrected.
Furthermore, even the NPC’s themselves seem to be randomly able to res. I mean in the story during normal battles they’ve died several times (at lest for me) and you can just res them again.
I’m assuming that when they die outside of actual cutscenes it’s more of a pokemon style fainting than actual death.
Hey guys,
I would love to have the celestial chicken glider. I find it hilarious and really want to purchase it but my gold is currently all going towards Chuka and Champawat (and you know how pricey legendaries can be :P)
Anyway I’ll start trying to fund it myself but if anyone is feeling generous it would be appreciated
GW2 scales horribly in 4k. The UI is tiny even at its largest size. The mouse is no longer easily visible and makes the game uncomfortable.
That being said it looks beautiful and I play in 4k so I mean it’s up to you.
Also crossfire is not going to do as much for you as you might think. Don’t forget this game is still running with DX9 so it won’t use the VRAM to its full potential, when it even can use both.
Do your homework on crossfire and gw2 if you’re going to get it to primarily play this game.
Yea would be pretty lame if skins are getting hacked now. 90% of my fun is getting new skins.
FashionWars2
Maybe but I whispered the person and didn’t get a reply. They’re also in a PvP match right now. I don’t know just seems weird to me.
So I’ve been playing GW2 since headstart and while I’ve seen 1 or 2 people legit hacking over the years I’ve never seen anything like this.
Whilst in HoTM today, I saw a guy running around with the legendary PvP Backpack. The funny thing is that he didn’t have a division badge next to his name. This made no sense to me so I thought it was a glitch.
I then noticed that he was wielding the full Hellfire armour set. I added him to my friendslist and he only had 800AP.
So now I’m pretty sure that this guy is hacking but I just never saw anything like this. Anyway I took some screenshots so that you get a better idea of what I mean
If it happened once I’d get it but this has been happening a lot lately. Wouldn’t have bothered making a post if it was just this one instance
Seriously how is this considered balance? We had a thief running around in ranked using only shortbow. At one point I was downed by next to him in mid and he didn’t even notice I was there, he just let an enemy thief cleave me while using his shortbow to attack a point in mid.
I hate ranting about players but this imbalance is just getting to me. This guy was either an incredibly bad pvper or new to the game. Honestly the whole fight was an uphill struggle. I just can’t understand how this level of mismatch occurs in ranked games.
You really are a monster kirin xD
I was having a similar problem last night, my internet was fine but I kept getting DC’d. At certain points I was able to use chat but everything else was frozen. Had to restart my PC for it to stop happening.
mhm I’m on deso too, the guild I’m in is running at half power all the time cos people keep getting randomly dc’d
Since the patch I’ve been getting loads of lag spikes and random DC’s. Is this happening to anybody else?
I don’t know if this is an in game bug or something that is occurring with my personal copy of the game, however every time I take a screenshot I get disconnected from the server and it dumps me into the character select screen.
I can immediately re-log onto my character but it is a bit of a nuisance that this occurs. It also creates problems in WvW (during high queue times) as well as full megaservers where I can’t take a screenshot (for whatever reason it may be) as I’d be booted.
Thanks in advance
