I need to know if there is anouther way to get the achievment for the crafting of the precurser for flamesseeker?
Workin just fine guys, thx a bunch holla
boom update
this is honestly the first problem i have run into playing guild wars 2 that is a functional problem. I think it is great that yall are not just working on the problem, and responding to it, but yall have given us a work around.
keep up the good work
The work around is working so far, my toaster is cooking my room, but i just have to play. Why anet, why guild wars team, why most you make such an awesome game. I have to get it in, even if i can make grilled cheese on my key board
lap top user here
My game is crashing as well, i don’t know if it is related to this issue or not. I will say this, i did not get an update to the previous game version. If y’all can fix it i can def send y’all some of my baby mamas great fried chicken(will it still be good when it gets there?) cause nom noms are awesome.
I use the action camera all the time, and love it, playing without just feels weird now. Some thing you should consider is whether your trying to face tank the enemies or if your sticking and moving. the hammer has a leap skill and a stun as well as combo field that applies dazing strike.
i think you prob need to work on your skill rotation.
when i play i generally accept that auto attack should be my dps and other skills such as utility skills, should be used for utility. leaps are range/distance modifiers, or for combo fields same thing with blasts skills, the opportune moment to use abilities will decide your survival.
Kiting, use it, it works.
Don’t face roll.
Be precise. the difference between a pro and an armature in all things is how precise they are.
Don’t face roll. Button mash just cause it s off cool down.
Are people actually afking for rewards. The reward track progression if someone afks is snail slow. When I am active in wvwvw I get around 400-500+ track progresion. If I spend to much time crafting or cleaning my inventory I may get 75 towards progression. That is a huge difference. A player that does that is wasting there own time. I dought it’s going to impact the game economy negatively considering the type of items in the reward tracks. I personally have not seen anymore afkers in wvwvw now then I have in the past.
I don’t have any complaints concerning the new rewards. I do however have a suggestion concerning the availability of certain types of rewards. As a player gains ranks New tracks should unlock that are wvwvw specific. An example could be a siege track. With the introduction of the provisioner there is an opportunity to create unlocks that can be tied to reward tracks. Players could for example unlock a on-demand turtle banner. Some of the edge of the mist abilities such as the air strike grenade could be a reward. The idea is to empower players that may not have a guild with the tower/keep upgrades. Something that I feel would be interesting is reward tracks that have to be completed one after the other for a greater reward. Think the maguma rank finishers but with a special item upon completion of all tracks. There could be four tracks that grant a not so great itwm. Then the four items can be combined in the mystic forge for a better item. Perhaps instead of four items only three. The fourth item in the recipe could affect the forge result. Reward tracks are a great opportunity for y’all to create some unique reward chains. I hope a dev reads this and takes it to heart. Sorry for the wall of text I’m typing this on my phone. Great job guys, love yalls game. Keep the good stuff coming.
The fix is simple….there must be some “progression” for “toons” in pvp. This will encetivize players to progress their “toons”. Insted of just making New ones.
Ideas on what could be “gated” that still allows for fair play.
-reward track progression/availability
-Gold gain/rank based? I reckon any toon played to Dragon should have a settled mmr
@shepherd I agree whole hearted with your suggestions and I hope this thread is view by the staff. I have watched many of the esl and go4 cups. Your ideas would definitely improve the viewing experience. I have a lot of PvP experience and sometimes it’s hard for me to tell what’s going on. Great constructive post. I hope that at least some of your ideas get implemented.
I love stronghold. I its so much more varied than conquest. I like the treb, but then again I play d more then offence.
Courtyard is a really great change of pace from conquest. I have had some very fun games there, and some incredibly frustrating ones.
Many, not all of the bad ones were a result of a player on one of the teams afk ing and ruining the experience for everyone else.
It is important for players to respect that some players like or dont like certain content. I respect that some people dont like courtyard. I do I will vote for it in map selection. I wont quit or ruin a match because I dont get the map I voted for or a map I dont like. I think it is childish and selfish.
If you dont get the map you voted for, just try. Have a good time, and perhaps you will get the map you want in the next game.
I hope that the scroll of knowledge “issue” is clarified before the update hits, I am a bit worried that my stack of scrolls will be deleted.
I would love to see this for “toys”. It is annoying to have to find which toon your horn is on ( I have eight), putting the horn in the bank, then switching to the toon you want to put the horn on, go to you wvwvw BL, go to the crafting station to use the bank, then leaving the BL so you can be back where you were when you started this process.
I kinda wonder this as well. I think I only spent about 30-40 gold, but I guess I got my golds worth in use over time.
I would definitely not mind getting it back.
My bigger concern though is the skill point scrolls. I have a full stack, and over 600 unused skill points spread over 8 toons.
I’m sure the devs will give us a heads up before they make them go poof.
One more match plz
10 V 10 would so turn this map into a cluster f. With all the NPCs it would be wvwvw.
I really enjoyed the new game mode, I want to play More but life.
The time limit may be a little too short, perhaps once people get a little more used to whats important to pay attention to in the map 15 min will be good. 20 min seems like it may ok now though.
Power builds slaughter npcs condi is still awesome for players though. I expect n that this game mode will definitely create some comp diversity. Greatsword warrior has alot of potential here, and necro power or not can be pretty boss.
There is alot going on in this map so organized teams will own it
Some of the post have talked about having more players then five v five. I feel like with the npcs more then five players kn each team would crowd things to much.
Without a lproper slsplit at the srstart problems can ensue. I think that as far as spectating this game type it will be easyer for a non player to understand it though.
I hope the game mode is received well by the community because I would love to see more maps in this game type. Perhaps something with skyhammer type mechanicemechanics. Yes I like skyhammer, annd courtyard.
The minimap is effective, but maybe zoom it in a little for easyer visabilty. Perhaps turning the squareness of the minimap to a more rectangular shape to accommodate this.
Other then that, im glad I found some shortcuts through the map by jumping over some of the terrain
in all fairness power builds can solo the svanyir/cheiftenn pretty quick, A power ranger, and power necro can kill it with out even stopping on the way to mid. as in together as a pair
i know what you mean, and i have to say that i have come too look at the mini map with great scrutiny. I think playing with bads may actually be making me a better player. GL to you sir, i hope new players dont raise your blood pressure.
I actually thought this was a troll thread, I was mistaken.
I get what you are saying about having to spend in game currency on traits for an alt that you may not want to keep. The greater picture on the restrictions on the traits in pvp creates a feeling of progression if a player only plays pvp. This game is more than pvp, and the developers have an obligation to the community to encourage players to enjoy other aspects of the game. I have to do some fractals to get a “thing” to make a “thing” that i want to have. I dont really care for fractals or dungeons in general, but i will do them because that is what is required. I like the game, and I trust that ANET is doing and making the best choices they can make to deliver on a good experience.
I hope that at some point you will simply get yourself an extra slot or two so you can go alt crazy and make what ever toons you need for your purpose.
Please understand that the restriction is there to encourage players to keep playing, a carrot on a stick if you will.
All of this may change one day, but today, “it is what it is”. Good luck out there, and remember that the developers did this for a reason, and I agree with their choice. I understand why you don’t, and I don’t agree with your argument.
i love you fella…. here is the thing, can you give me one game…that is right ONE game that does not require a person to play it to unlock abilities or items.
I felt compelled to post this, and i feel it important to convey my feelings on the matter…..I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!
can i get an amen?
I am the worst player…planet earth!!!!!
this entire dialog is ridicules. Games time gate things, its like buying battlefield 3 and expecting to have all the weapons and attachments unlocked from the start. dont feal like playing the game to get the in game rewards, spend some money and get it other wise, play the game like everyone else. if you wanna play as a ranger, make a ranger, and “oh god” unlock the abilities.
I apologize in advance if this contains grammatical errors, I have large hands, and I’m typing this on a phone.
First thing that helped me alot was learning to wear my mouse as a hat. No, not on your head, but keeping the mouse pointer located in the general vacinity above your toons head. The center of the screen. Using the keyboard to strafe and holding the right mouse button down and turning with the mouse. This effectively makes the game a thurd person shooter/adventure game. This is very helpfull for aoe attacks, and for controlling your toon in a more fluid and reactive fashion. Aquiring and traking a target be omes easier once you learn this method.
The tab key allows you to cycle targets. Not the best thing when there are a lot of ads around like minions or engi turrents, but just if your mouse pointer in the center of the screen you should have an easyer time clicking to target
When playing other players it is important to understand that the best way to land big hits is to disable a players ability to move. CC abilities su h as pin down and knockdown allow attacks to be strung together making a “combo”
stability and stun breakers then act as a “combo breaker” this is an important concept to understand espe ially against or played as bursty builds.
Understanding what the other classes are without having selected them is an experience thing. Look at what the toon is doing. Only engis can make turrets mezmers are the only thing thats gonna be doing all kinds of purple everywhere. Warriors will def look the roll in heavy armor ( and prob have a longbow in their hand) determinh a toons proffesion with out having. Licked them is something you will learn as you go along.
When it comes to strat, if your not playing with friends you can try to communicate a strat to your PUGS but they may not respond or may even respond in a negative way be prepaired to just have to leroy jenkins it. A “safe” strat is to simply hold 2 points longer then the other team. If you can get around the map fairly quickly you should be able to help the rest of your team do this or ebeven do it on your own if you have to.
Just a little extra for you….. remember that the first person that is seen is uaslly the one that gets focused on for attacks. Try to run to battles behind someone, and if you are/get outnumbered on a node its uaslly time to go.
a pvp mat h changes very quikly and nothing is set in stone you will see people doing things that may not make imedeit sense. Example. .. not stomping a player. In some situations it is better to let a player try to rez just so you can wail on him and have 2 downed insted of one.
Remeber pvp is no holds bared killin so get in there and show no mercy group with friends and yall can have a great time. if you see me online feel free to ask me any questions and I will be more than happy to help ya.
I went to the durmond library yesterday, and after reading several books there it occurred to me that Scarlet did us a favor.
Dragons feed off magic and grow stronger because of it. We killed Zhaitan and his magic was released upon his death. If Scarlet had not woken mordy then it is presumed we would have tryed to kill the others and mordy would just soak up more magic and continue to grow in strenth. Trahern could very well have led the pact to their doom because the original plan was set astray by scarlet bringing attention to mordy to early.
Sorry for poor gramer, im typing this on my phone and my thumbs are so big lol
I have run into this as well. I have all level 80 toons most from leveling tombs. For some reason I cant talk to pve trait vendors either.
Practice/hotjoin is a necessary maybe for the sake of just a quick play and run for any number of reasons. I test build changes there alot. I wonder what the effect would be if only unranked and ranked were available. Setting up a custom arena and finding people to test the buils on would be to much of a hassle for the average player I presume. And the randomness of practice arena allows for a more unbiased test

I made this very sugestion some time ago. It seems to me that the game can handle pvp f2p. Free accounts will be stuck in the mist, and reward tracks will be restricted. Seems pretty straight forward to me.
Having a larger pool of pvp players would not be a bad thing.
Also runes and sigils could be time gated also
Hmm, guild wars pvp does have a somewhat steep learning curve. I do think that with a proper amount of tutorials this can be overcome and perhaps even timegating entry to competitive que would be a good idea.
You misunderstand me, I mean to say allow access to the heart of the mist with out purchase of the game. Make pvp a free download with restrictions. I think the games current infrastructure is perfect for this, although the gold to gem ratio may need to be higher. Maybe adjust the rewards for free to play accounts.
I have to say I am rather pleased with the changes in pvp. I would like to make a sugestion though. I greatly miss queing from pve, but then something occurred to me. Now that players must join from the heart of the mist, there is an opportunity here to make pvp free to play. Restricting reward tracks, and the high gold to gem ratio will place free to play accounts in pvp only for a considerable length of time. I love playing pvp, and the high number of players that would be gotten from a free to play model would fill the servers very quickly.
Yes, great job. I really enjoyed the delivery pacing, and the minor changes through out the week to the way points.
This is definitely a very unique gaming experience, and I am looking forward to the next release.
You can’t deny Duke Nukem….but how long have you been playing? at least they removed the actual annoying ones like:
“You couldn’t keep the keep”
“The keep if yours! Keep it!”mind you they were mainly exclusive to Niflhel, but I can’t remember if other maps had equally stupid quotes.
For real….lmao…. I hate I missed that….. “you couldnt keep the keep” OMFG, that would be hilarious to hear
I have to say…This season is off to a great start!
I am very impressed with the story delivery, pacing, and tone.
I cant wait to see whats next
Great job Guys!!!!!
ok, ss/lb condi warrior with crazy might duration, will melt anything and fast. theif mesmer try to gank me on a node and instantly melt in the ring of fire. I was downed and rezzed off of them after throwing a few stones at the thief, I immediatlly /laugh. THey both whispered me in rage and called me a noob, then said they reported me. I laughed the rest of the game.
I think the idea was to get people to use different weapons for different situations through out the different game modes. I find that I am using weapons in wvwvw that I normally wouldn’t, after playing with them in pvp. So I just went ahead and crafted exotic versions for wvwvw and pve use.
I really enjoy sky hammer, even after getting pulled off multiple times by ostrich. The map does have some great escape, evade, and wtf moments that’s its really quite enjoyable. I played it several times in solo que tonight, and it was not an issue for me but others complained. Perhaps it should not be in solo or team que, but the map is definitely fun.
I have all exotics atm, I cant see the point in crafting ascended if I was aiming for a legendary, it would just be a unnecessary deviation in my progression, especially seeing as crafting precursors are supposed to be introduced this year. It would be a set of gear that ended up stored under the bed with the thigh master and ab swing
My ex had an ab swing lmao
I have been playing GW2 for over a year now, and I have yet to come across a pre curser. I think I may have salvaged one in my first week of play, but im not sure I just remember getting an 80 level item when i was like 15, and thinking “what do i do with this?” Now, I have five level 80 characters, all of them (except my main) leveled mostly from tomes earned in pvp. I am wondering what I can do to increase my odds of getting a precurser. My magic find is around 120% not boosted. Are there certain events that drop precursers more often, are wvwvw zerg runs in EB a good place? I hear the world boss bonus chest are a great place, but all i ever get from them are rares. I did get an ascended bow from a guild rush/jp (cant remember which).
Where are the best places and methods to get precursers?
Klock you meanie.
Any time im fighting 1v1 and we both go down, but i get the stomp with Warrior vengeance. That always makes me laugh
I personally like sky hammer, its got some great design elements and as a whole is a fun map. The map may not be the best thing for tourney play right now though, but it is definitely a well made a lots of fun.
The OP is right, there is a level of trash talking that is VERY anti social and non-constructive. Tis the nature of the beast perhaps. I know I have come across players that were geared out but not very skilled, and I use emotes to talk junk, such as /laugh /ponder / cry. but when you start typing negative things to others to belittle or berate, its no longer trash talking.
I think its important to realize that a good portion of the people that play this game are young as in teens. So this sort of behavior is to be expected to exist. I think its like a bully perhaps.
Great thing anet made this game with a mute player choice.
I think the idea is to get more pvp players to get into the wvwvw or pve. I play all game modes, although I do enjoy playing pvp and wvwvw more.
That being said, acquiring precursors in pvp may be possible in the champ bags that are acquired in the rewards tracks. I believe that it may be possible to actually get a legendary through pvp, but i haven’t looked into it. If all the mats are gained from the reward tracks then yes I think you can get one eventually in pvp. All this is based on the chance for a precursor to be in a champ bad from the reward track.
Huh?
