Are there no rewards? Not even achis? Why can’t I play with a pre-made team?
I maxed luck the same year the system was implemented so the cap should definitely be raised. I hate to destroy all that extra luck I get from salvaging.
Revenge of the Capricorn should have its own queue for people who want to play it for whatever reason. I am farming the achis still, and it is very annoying when people vote for the other maps and I go to a map I don’t care about. Makes me want to DC on purpose.
Next, they need to come up with a solution to the junk items and minor runes/sigils that clutter your inventory. I would accept them never dropping for level 80 chars (except for junk items that are worth more than 5 silvers).
I have map completion for Southsun Cove, Dry Top, and Silverwastes from before HoT but I got no map reward that was promised in HoT patch notes.
As long as you don’t need tons of gold/grind and there is no artificial time gating in crafting those precursors, I’m happy. But fortunately the devs know that people hate those, so I’m not too worried.
I would buy more skins if they cost about 25% of the present price. Close to 10 euros for a new armor skin is outrageous.
There have been complaints about this game, pretty much continually (as one would expect on a game forum) but population complaints are not generally among them. Most population complaints are about too many people at events, rather than not enough people.
Most complaints have been legitimate on these forums, though. This game is still very lacking in many areas as anet primarily concentrates on gem store items.
Anet always says, there won’t be anymore grind in this game yet their actions always contradict them. Would it kill them to make a game with interesting content that doesn’t depend on endless grind to get achis and nice skins?
I was under the impression, because it has been stated kitten, that Anet intended that there would be grind for cosmetics.
Since cosmetics is the end game content of this game, grind is really necessary in this game if you want to play it.

What happened to “no more grind?”
Trying to fish the coat box has finally broke the proverbial camel’s back for me with this game. I don’t want to waste my time doing something I don’t want to do to get something I want. There are games around that are fun to play AND rewarding.
We only want to know the quarter when it is released.
Anet owes us an official apology for feeding us the Living Story that clearly failed.
Yes, they now promised that there won’t be any more grinding in this game, which is very welcome news!
I can give you the content already in its essence: “We are really excited about what is on the horizon, but we can’t really say any more than that because of our non-communication policy. No new dungeons though, because that doesn’t fit well into our vision of delivering content with the living world.”
Season 3 would be ok with much more regular updates and content. If it’s like the current one, this game will die from lack of content.
I think expansion was confirmed in a report to NCsofts stockholders this year. It’s ironic that stockholder get more info than their customers…
Meh, haters gonna hate, whatever Anet does. I, for one, like the new system since it takes less time to grab those 10 achievement points.
What with the PvP and daily changes, I am now wondering if they will abandon putting those kind of things in separate feature patches. I hope they will, since feature patches have mostly just interrupted the delivery of real playable content. It is much better to add new features with content patches.
Thank you, Anet, for the earmuffs in the gem store! 25 gems for a skin is a reasonable price (400 or 800 gems is not!) and if other skins and items were in the same price range, I would spend lots more gems. I hope you will continue making cheap gem store items and lower the prices of the old ones.
And the best thing is we don’t even know if we get the finale this year. Maybe they will take another break (and use wintersday as an excuse) after that break we will play EP 8 which is followed by another break until we get a feature patch which is then again followed by a break until S3 starts, that will almost certainly have a mid season break aswell.
Don’t forget the break due to spring WvW season!
Superior Rune of Feature Patch:
1) +50% chance to hype a minor UI change.
2) +1% chance to fix something suggested on the forums.
3) +90% chance to add achievements requiring grind and gold.
4) +100% chance to stop delivering new content for 2.5 months.
5) +5% chance to make game more attractive to new players.
6) +100% chance to make game less attractive to veteran players.
Didn’t anet claim at one point that they were going to rework all the dungeons ala AC?
Yes.
Yeah, I haven’t bought a single one of these since I run 8 characters and buying them for all is way too expensive. Making it duplicatable once bought would solve it.
That sounds plausible.
And we can’t have another months long hiatus after 4 or so episodes. Many players quit during that time and more will quit if it happens again.
Also, the number of daily players would be interesting to know, especially how it has changed over time.
I agree. Southsun Cove needs more love. People just do Karka Queen and get out of there. Shame that such a beautiful area goes to waste.
More importantly, they should increase the supply of silk or decrease its need. At least they should make bolt of silk cost only two scraps again.
This! I would actually purchase those infinite harvesting tools if this was implemented.
Yeah, this game is getting pretty stale. A few short living world chapters every few months isn’t going to cut it even if you count the feature patches and wvw seasons. I never thought I’d say this but I miss the living world season 1 with regular new content patches with different angles to the gameplay varying from new dungeon paths (TA Aetherpath) to world bosses (Marionette and Tequ) to SAB. I am only astounded that they didn’t make all of those permanent content.
The recipe would confuse and overwhelm new players, so they removed it.
I am willing to forgive the lack of content under the assumption that their manpower is currently tied to implementing a full-scale expansion.
I am just offended that Anet seems to think that players are so stupid that they are confused and overwhelmed by the simplest things now.
I would personally like more rewards to be obtainable from other sources than Gem Store, RNG or grinding.
I, for one, love the GS movement abilities while roaming in open world (not WvW). They make moving from place to place that much faster. That’s a big part of why I main warrior.
I, for one, am happy that my useless transmutation stones that I had been keeping “just in case” were converted into something useful.
Why isn’t this on Players Helping Players forum?
Still no:
- precursor crafting/scavenger hunt
- legendary armor/trinkets
- guild/player housing
- new skills/weapons/races/profs
Most of these things were promised over a year ago. This is why we are so miffed.
I think TA Aetherpath shows us that they’re more likely to include new, harder paths to dungeons than they are to include a hard mode toggle. But I could be wrong.
Except the fact that a good deal of players. Esp new ones avoid TA Aether like the plague.
And that’s because the reward doesn’t reflect the time investment. If the path yielded 5g, it might be worth it.
/sighs
Once again, no “new content” was promised in this feature patch. New features were promised.
And this one’s a doozy. Thanks, ANet!
By your logic we can never have the features I mentioned if they can’t be on feature patches. They sure can’t be in living story patches either because they have nothing to do with the living story and Anet has made it clear that they don’t want to confuse players with other content patches except living story patches.
So where is the new content promised for us veteran players last week? I see only UI polish that was long overdue. I expected precursor crafting, housing, new skills, new profession or something else to keep me playing this.
So they are making the game easier for TP players. This feature patch just keeps getting worse and worse.
Because it is technologically impossible to automate the update appearing online, there can be no preview today.

Go to FotM lvl 1 Ascalonian fractal. In the upper right corner of the opening courtyard, there is an area of fast spawning veterans that die with one hit. Takes less than 5 minutes to get the achi.
Okay, there are dozens of topics like this and I still wanted to make my own. I guess that goes to show how disappointed and worried I am with GW2 right now. The thing is that after the first living story season ended, there has been just too little new endgame content. After the April feature patch there was a long pause in new content. Then we got four living story updates with instances that could be finished in a few hours, achievements and all. And now there is already another hiatus. Season 1 had no such hiatuses; there was always something like SAB to engage us. Dry Top is a nice new area, but at this rate it is going to take decades before that map of Tyria is completely open for us.
Furthermore, the devs don’t tell us anymore what’s on the horizon. This leaves me to wonder if they are so low on resources that they can’t announce any interesting future developments. And the feature patch previews have been pretty meh. No significant improvements announced so far for endgame players.
If it weren’t for the April patch’s wardrobe and skin collecting, I would pretty much have stopped playing already. Soon I have all dungeon skins in my pocket and that project is done (I am not going to farm gold to buy gems for gem store skins). So after 4500 hours it seems that I’ll soon drop out of this game which is sad since the game play itself is good, the graphics are neat and it would be fun to do something meaningful with my guildies again.
My question is, when do we get new legendary weapons?
One person’s effect on inflation is negligible no matter how much he farms dungeons. Therefore I recommend you farm them and buy T6s from TP.
