As far as I know it hasn’t been specified anywhere, so my question is as follows:
Will we be able to test the new weapons this weekend or are we limited to the specializations?
I like conjures, so I got really excited when I saw the list of changes, hoping for conjures to use the kit approach. The unlimited charges are okay but don’t fix the inherent problems with conjures (namely that they lock you out of your elements thus require a burn-skills-and-discard approach). Moreover, the unlimited charges get effectively nullified with the new 30sec duration.
What’s even more sad is that the FGS was realistically only decent as a mobility skill, and now its duration got cut in half. I don’t even..
Uhm.. while I am all for this, OP has plagiarized my old thread without giving me credit.. title and all.
So slightly modifying the title of this thread to “keep armour weight categories separate but allow all classes access to each category”.
I tried a few iterations, but capturing the essence of the thread with a 45 character limit isn’t that easy. ^^
Though I am not wholly convinced on the incompatibility arguments, if this is Anet’s stance then that’s that.
I did think of a compromise:
In the wardrobe panel, make a subtab in which you toggle your current desired armor weight. Lock the skins of the two armor weights not chosen.
It’d be annoying to have to use six transmutation charges every time you swap weights, so it could work (if Anet is feeling generous) like outfits do now: having a different template saved to each armor weight.
E.g.: An elementalist is tired of wearing light armor, so he toggles light armor off and medium armor on. He now chooses 6 medium armor skins to use and uses 6 transmutation charges. However he gets tired of the trenchcoat and toggles light armor back on, and has his old light armor set restored free of charge.
Lately I’ve been thinking. Anet seems unable or simply unwilling to put out new armor sets, because of the extreme amount of development time these take. So why not make the most of the skins we already have?
What I hint at is to remove the weight restrictions from armor skins. Every class being able to use skins from the light, medium and heavy armors. This also means many more mix and match possibilities.
The main reason I can think of to oppose this is that it “makes no sense”, warriors walking around in light armor. However the existence of outfits make this argument null and void.
Edit: Apparently mix and matching different armor weights causes incompatibility issues that Anet can’t (or won’t) solve.
A compromise could be:
Letting any character be able to toggle one armor weight at a time, locking the other skins. There could be a template for each armor weight that you can switch between free of charge (like outfits), so you don’t have to waste 6 transmutation charges every time.

Hello fellow eles.
A year ago I recorded some sPvP games of my zerk d/f ele, armed with the frostbow, clashing with the metabuilds of old in their pre-HoT prime (cele ele comes to mind), mixed with some humor.
However I never shared them and so they have been lying dormant, sitting on a respectable viewer count of 10.
-I don’t use stability or passive proc nonsense.
-The vids are for entertainment purposes, not for impressing others.. well.. maybe a little bit.
-Yes, the quality and editing sucks.
-Yes, since then I have gotten rid of my balding hair. Only on my head though.

Khallane, I do believe your post belongs in the necro subforum.
Let this thread die off. The title paired with a devs response is giving people false hope.
Don’t forget chill affecting attunement recharges. Heh.
Either stop forcing people to stand in hotm while queuing or improve the area. Or better yet.. both.
Auto attacks. Ele’s already have 20 skills, having AA’s as well is broken.
All is vain.
…This is terrible.
More importantly: What’s the deal with airline food?
All is vain title .. it’s brilliant.
This isn’t bad. +1
I’ve done it using S/F with 04046 and mainly zerker. I used some earth 1, air 1, air elemental and the lava axe. It took me several tries, but it can be done.
Actually, the new trait system is alot less restrictive than the old one. You can change your traits for free, where ever you are. Now you can simply open your trait interface and experiment with whatever build you feel like trying, anytime. So as for what traits to pick, just try what sounds good… that’s what I’ve been doing anyway.
As for the 30 to 6 points change, it’s a simplification of the system really rather than an added restriction. In the old system everyone set up their traits with 5 points at a time anyway.

I just wanted to say, this is not a tpvp video, I am seeing some spvp duels and some hotjoin.
As for the video: I play d/f but I would really need to see some better opponents to judge your skill. But anyone claiming d/f can’t work .. heh.
In WvW the failure rate seems gamebreakingly high (avoiding spots like stairs where it never worked to begin with), I’ve stopped trying to combo it with anything.
I should probably remove it from my action bar altogether, but how can I, it’s so vital to my gameplay…
It reminds me of the buggy rtl of the old days. It could screw you over, but it’s too good to ignore…
Yesterday I got two skins out of 3k boxes. Can anyone confirm the drop rate has been reversed?
I would enjoy some new character animations when idling.
The fact people are actually defending this mechanic makes me nauseous.
They also add among other stats 5 power each .. × 14 ascended = 70 power. That’s significant. And for higher fracs only swapping trinkets simply won’t do
I am a player who enjoys any aspect of the game (spvp, wvw, pve). I don’t do alot of fractals these days, but still enjoy them from time to time with guildies.
At the time WvW infusions were released i filled nearly all my slots with them, because lets face it, those “free” stats are pretty much irresistible for any PvE’er.
The problem: I now am excluded from entering higher frac levels, unless I craft a whole new ascended set. This system seems too harsh for me (the infusions aren’t exactly cheap) and seems to go against Arenanets casual-friendly view.
Solution: make infusion gems interchangeable, so replacing a WvW with an AR one won’t destroy the first.
TLDR; WvW and AR infusions need to be swapped at will without destroying the first, so WvW’ers won’t be excluded from fractals.
As a zerk ele in pve, wvw and tpvp whose new damage failed to break through a warriors passive regen (wvw) as he jumped around for minutes ..
Got bored of conquest rather quickly.. but if you look closely you can see where my loyalty lies!
The Devs replies show absolutely no willingness to reconsider releasing this travesty. They are just so happy to erase the dividing line between PvE and PvP it makes them blind.
Setting aside balance, the confusion condition itself is just NOT FUN to play against. It completely counters any counterplay. If you are out of cleanses your only option is to stop using ANY skill for its duration, which usually is not an option at all.
-If Anet doesn’t want to split pve/pvp runes, remove Perpl from gw2 altogether. This will preserve many already underdog builds in pvp and actually opens up builds in wvw that won’t be given the death penalty for not running full cleansemonstermode.
-DRASTICALLY reduce confusion durations, so that waiting it out actually becomes a viable option besides cleansing it off. I am thinking that it shouldn’t exceed 3-4s (WITH cond duration multipliers). This way it’s still effectively a 4 seconds daze…
Thank you and goodnight!
