We will have to invest many hours either farming gold to convert to gems or using our credit cards to earn them. all you had to do is play for hundred and hundred of hours, it is in no way related to experience nor skill.

alternately chances of precursor are meant to increase with the rarity of the items you throw in
so try 4 ascended Great Swords
getting your crafting to the point where you can make those will use up a lot of your T6 mats tho so make sure you do might/ magic gifts first

and im not sure what your talking about keeping P2win out of EU/NA its already here, you can buy legendaries for £300 today on a brand new account without even leaving the tutorial you can also see it with every patch where they further monetize the game.

why is there ascended materials and items in spvp rewards
unless your planning to completely do away with sat normalization they are utterly pointless you cannot trade them or use them in pvp
if people actually want ascended iems they will run fractals or wvw or pve to get them areas of the game where they are actually useful
why are players who pvp having their rewards reduced to pump out this trash? that they cant even use.
either put all ascended rewards into their own title track separate from the others or remove them
this was a problem before the new reward system went live with daily and monthly rewarding pvp crafting materials that could not be used due to the removal of glory, that were then taken from players with no compensation, get it together anet seriously
its not a difficult concept, you even seemed to understand it once;
reward players for their time spent in an activity with rewards linked to that activity
not things that are worthless

successful games dont have to do complete 180 changes on the design they sold the game featuring or repeatedly remove progression/rewards so you have to regrind or remove convenience so they can charge you for it
the reason they are turning a profit is because they are abusing peoples addictive gambling tendencies in the gem store
legendaries were meant to be about the prestige of having a unique skin showing the amount of effort you put into crafting it they didn’t have better stats or switching when the game launched and people started crafting them
2 skins = twice the effort = twice the prestige
but thats moot anyway given you can open your wallet and buy one
they should have just excluded them from the wardrobe

They thought the towns clothes and costumes would be more popular than they are. They thought that system would bring in the most money. In order to revamp it so it does bring in the sales they want, they have to trample over your purchases and how you play.
this is happening far too often its like a constant bait and switch, its going to get to the point where no one believes anything they say and they get no money at all because everyone knows they will arbitrarily change/ remove functionality or progression to try and make it more profitable so they don’t see the point in buying anything.

We know the cost of the unlocks in spvp:-
2 jewelry pieces 10g each.
2 new rune sets (but perplexity has been pulled due to a qq thread on spvp forums, so might just be 1) 5g each.
2 new sigils 3 g each.The only way to get those is by buying them with gold.

so as the title says with the changes to dailies and monthlies coming on the 15th will they become more or less rewarding?
for example currently if you complete both spvp and pve daily you get
some rewards twice so 5s becomes 10 you get double the MF essence etc
will this be reflected in the new system ergo we now get 10s as default
or will we only get 5s with the ability to earn more removed?
same with monthly but multiply by 10 for the amount of cash
if we keep the current maximum it gets more rewarding as we will still only have to do 4/5 to complete it rather than 8/9 and if it doesn’t then earning potential is halved
TLDR: should i do both monthlies before patch or wait?
why this inferior system over districts that players can choose?
if i want to play with a friend whos on a seperate server, but i keep getting sorted into the same map as my guildmates/ other friends as there are more of them, and they system says i should play with all these people i know. what happens to people who are on servers with small populations to the extent that each world doesn’t have its own unshared prime instance for a map how are they supposed to recruit for wvw without the competition hearing they are about to make a push on map X
the temples are a mess with this new system, why even have the statues tied to temples when they will all be affected by the closest temple. IF you had implemented districts as you were asked

the only thing they changed is to guarantee 1 rare per account per day from dragons and to give the chickens a spamable 5k dmg attack
are you serious? we have to wait 3 hours in a map during the spawn window for one boss then wait 8 hours before the next 3 hour spawn window to do the next….
or will they all spawn at slightly staggered times during the 3h window? and if so in what order
what about players that have work/ sleep / a life outside your schedule during these 3h windows, should they just give up on ever doing world bosses again?
well given your chance at a precursor is meant to be higher the higher the rarity of items you throw into the forge is, you should just toss those ascended items in and hopefully get one out
1 theres about 3 servers per region that are actually populated to the status advertised on the server page. read about to find out which these are for yours
2 in terms of content theres a new island, a new dungeon one of the TA paths has been replaced, world bosses have had tweaks and a few new dynamic events have been added, most of the last years content has been living story which you cant do ever. other than that the world is pretty much as you left it
they’ve reset progression a bunch of times so depending on what you did before you left you may find you have less achievement points etc now
3 dont scrap your character yet, things like dyes are going account wide
4 also if you pvped before you will need to use all your materials as they have removed glory and will be deleting all mats after patch
I think the biggest thing i prefer when playing Wildstar beta is being consistently rewarded with what im doing. i hadn’t realized how much i missed that.
So complete quest/dungeon X get class specific upgrade/ housing item/ other useful reward same as anyone else doing that content,

If you want to “try” a new build you can do it perfectly fine with Exotic and even Rare gear.
using that logic you can try a new build perfectly fine naked with lvl 1 white weapons
they might just convert them to trait books… but its anet so probably not
id rather have T6 worthless and available for use in a wide variety of crafting/ mf recipies than stacks of worthless ascended that can only be used for one thing (and a tonic) and cant even be sold if you have that or don’t care for it
you cant even use them as a skin unless you burn a transmute first all pvp items are being converted to the new system automatically when you log in on charachters that have them. if you still have glory, you might salvage them and maybe craft something with the materials

where exactly are the PVP rewards? almost everything listed bar the pvp exclusive balthazar back is a PVE reward, stats are normalised in pvp why are you rewarding me with worthless ascended materials i cant even sell? the dungeon tracks are a joke as pvpers will have to level and then WALK to every dungeon entrance, why are we even getting what was meant to be dungeon exclusive skins?
overall this seems like its designed to reward PVE players who might want to dabble in PVP not PVP players who are getting the ability to swap appearance/ weapons for free removed and charged to unlock trash like perplexity runes that have no place in pvp but will be required for the new metas
where are the emotes
where are the titles
where are the pvp exclusives
where is the benefit to playing pvp over whatever the best gold farming method is?
i know you love that people can now open their wallet and buy anything in the game but seriously please get a clue

id say anet might compensate you for ones you bought with gems but i doubt they will, theyll probably just say you were warned of the change and should have used them before it happened
There should be a recipe (mystic forge or otherwise) that makes unidentified dyes and doesn’t involve PvP rewards. Players of other game types like dying their armor as well.
If they aren’t going to drop, make them at least a bit more accessible, and not just a money-maker for PvP players. Does anyone care if dyes are super valuable? Cheap dyes seem like more fun (just overall, having a few expensive rare ones is fine) I’d rather have a bunch of colors to use on my characters’ armor, rather than spend a bazillion gold for one color.
PVP rewards were removed from the game. Players who had materials can still use them to forge new dyes, but can’t get new materials anymore.
actually you can still get pvp materials from the spvp daily, you just cant get glory to buy tokens to make things, and the materials are going to be deleted when the new rewards come out, so basically that part of your daily reward is pointless.
No, I think Shadow Blade is asking for some level of consistency in design philosophy. I think that’s a simple request.
That is exactly what i’m asking for, i think its absurd that we have core selling features of the game being removed or completely changed with no real feedback being taken. or explanations given.
There is an order to taking feedback and acting on it, generally you do this at a stage BEFORE the work is finalized and it can still make a difference not:
‘oh hay guys were completely changing this game feature in a few days /weeks hope your as excited as we are, not excited? your not a dedicated player then…’
look at the CDI threads, they are constantly asked what their long term design/ plans are so we can comment and give feedback at an early stage when it can make a difference and are told they wont talk about that, infact if you look the majority of the responses are comments on player comments and not thoughts on design or direction, just non committal responses lacking substance, at this point the cdi just looks like a PR spin exercise, and i seriously doubt anything of substance will come of it
In the last year progression in almost every area of the game has had at least one reset. In many cases with no compensation to the possible hundreds of hours players dedicated to it, in some cases changes have gone out as little as a few weeks after new releases. in cases such as these they quite obviously should have changed them before releasing them or put off releasing them to minimize disruption to players, but they didn’t so they could meet their deadline of new stuff every 2 weeks, even when they have taken longer to add polish etc its been a buggy mess as seen by the end of the living world season.
there is a fundamental disconnect between what they are saying and what they are doing.

Did you demand Valve give you your money back for TF2 when they made it free to play? I love the way many people on this forum get bent out of shape when something doesnt go 100% their way but when you benefit from a change, like the new wardrobe with a legendary, people are AMAZINGLY ok with it.
Your TF2 example is a bad one, most likely purposefully so. all they did was make it free, they didn’t fundamentally change it, if i had bought TF2 and they patched it to portal, then yes i would have demanded valve give me my money back.
In regards to legendaries, maybe you should look around a bit there are many people upset that people who made one legendary get to dual wield them like people who made two for that purpose with half the effort.
There was a time when the dye system was very different and at that time dye unlocks were account based, but we have since changed the dyes system and we really feel that character based is the right way to go and the system we have now is the best one for the game.
Customized dye should be something that denotes your characters progress, like better looking, more elaborate gear. As you spend more time on your character, they grow and gain access to more customization options. If we make dyes account based, this progression will only happen on one character. We wanted character customization to remain tied to the character but we felt that one-time-use dyes discouraged players from customizing as often as they would like, that is how we arrived at the current system.
There are 400 dyes in the game, we do not think of dyes as something that a character should unlock all of, it is not meant to be a collection feature. Each character should have a unique palette and we have made enough colors to make this possible. Dyes come from world drops, rewards, crafting, the Mystic Forge, and the Gem Store and we expect that over the life of a character you will collect a lot of them.

why are you removing character progression? (again) and what you described as the best dye system for the game?
people literally begged you to keep the account bound system when you announced character bound, the time to listen to that feedback was then, during beta before the game launched you told them that character bound was part of your vision for the game, where is that vision now?
im getting pretty tired of complete reversals on design. does anyone there know what they are actually doing? the development increasingly looks like an incompetent mess to me.
Come on guys, lets be more productive here. Saying we don’t care isn’t just wrong,
like it or not the perception is that you don’t care, if you want to be perceived as caring it should show in the quality of your work.
for example having a transition period when doing spvp reward systems overhauls, not disabling the old system replacing it with nothing and still rewarding people under the old system with rewards that are going to be deleted, that’s not indicative of caring. nor is the constant progression deletions and resets that have plagued the game over the last year.
Unlocking traits, or what have you, won’t (at least shouldn’t, barring any balance issues) make you more powerful, they simply give you a wider range of builds and allow you to better tune your character to your play style.
but having a build that isn’t tuned or competitive is inferior because you cannot access the locked traits that you require for that build does make you less powerful as you cannot optimize or even correctly use that build until you have those traits.
say for example i want to play a guardian and have a set level of mitigation/ hp i want to achieve, if i have access to the new trait, that means an extra 3k hp from that trait alone allowing me to change runes or stats elsewhere to be more offensive, if i don’t have access to that trait i cant change those other stats without losing survivability. making the build weaker comparatively.
lets be honest this is being driven by the goal of monetizing spvp through gem > gold >trait unlocks etc because all the “reasons” your giving are BS and could obviously be met in better ways
why does daily achievement chest still give pvp crafting materials when we can no longer earn glory to buy the tokens to use with them? given the reward is weighted to include these will they hotfix an alternate way to get tokens etc? or will they be replaced?
further why do we still have glory boosters etc when it was stated they would be removed?
didn’t they plan the transition period at all? a lot of the problems at the moment are very common sense things that have basic solutions.

Saying no rewards anymore is hyperbole. That suggests we are not adding a system to replace the old one, which is not true.

It’s probably to conserve effort and resources. The trait book item will probably exist on the vendor, so the same item is awarded for completion of the event. It was probably faster to do it this way.
thats probably the reasoning between using the same item.
but if its not RNG it defeats the purpose of getting people out to old content again.
after patch itll be just like the last few living story releases where people clear it in the first few days and then its mostly dead again, which will screw over new and leveling players as they wont be able to clear Balthazar etc without a big zerg which will have moved back to whatever it was farming before or whatever they’re pushing as the new season LS focus
so they will be stuck farming gold to buy it.

they could just give you points to allocate how you please, or automatically unlock it once you have met the requerements, no need at all for an item.
the fact that they are specifying its an item indicates there will be a drop rate, on some encounters for some guides that may well be 100%, but i doubt it will be for all of them anet uses rng too frequently for me to believe it wont be present here.
in regards to splash rewards, you also get laurels and exp on those, so why an item and not a currency etc

RNG trait book drop from arah p4 end boss 0.0002% chance
or 100g from trainer i know what most people will go for
given many of these will be significantly better than currently avainlable traits for certain builds there is the concern that they are pricing new players out of competitive builds

for those of you who don’t recall dyes were originally going to be account bound and after they added a certain monetization manager to the team they became character bound(so they can sell more dyes), they also told the people literally begging them in Beta before the game had launched to keep it account wide that this was the plan for character progression, to make them more individual and that they would not be account wide.
id really like to see what their justification is this time, because clearly it cant be player feedback, as they paid no attention when they got it before the game launched.
what is wrong with the devs that they cant plan long term, we keep seeing systems changes again and again complete 180s while they trot out “we are learning and listening to your feedback” like its some kind of talisman that protects them from looking incompetent.
Pre Cursor prices have been stable for over 6 months now and I dont remember anybody from Anet stating that they think they are overpriced in the last 6 months.
Legendaries in general got more expensive in the last 6 months, that is true. But that is due to the ingredients for the gifts in general rising in price, not because of precursors.
this was over a year ago, when they started to hit 300g and kept rising some are more than twice that now. they said they were going to address it and haven’t. they keep stringing us along with posts like

the LS has gotten much better, .
disagree with you here its still as buggy and poorly thought out as it was when they started, in some ways its gotten worse as now it can only really be completed during prime time with a zerg. not to mention the ascended gear checks
they keep saying they are “learning” from things, but i have yet to see them put it into action, the same mistakes are repeated again and again, an have to be hot fixed again and again thats if they even bother, given its only available for 2 weeks on average, some things they just ignore or rebrand a “feature”
people keep asking for an expansion because they want content that is permanent and of higher quality to the majority of the living story releases, which have typically had bugs for half the time they have been available and been poorly planned and executed.

the answer is no, they aren’t even trying,
consider the fact that they ended the living story in time for ncsofts new mmo release so players will have nothing new to do when it releases.
consider also that they took extra time polishing this release and its as buggy as ever.

till i tried the teso/ wildstar betas i didn’t realize how much i missed having set quality loot tables so reward is directly linked to effort, do harder content get better rewards, not this rng rubbish of everything rewards salvage/ vendor trash and good items are 0.0000001% drop chance so you are essentially farming cash or opening your wallet to buy things from lucky players or the cash shop

id rather play a game that rewards skill over luck.
