Druid just standing on auto attack with defensive build, healing himself, moving around and pets doing 10k damage you think this is normal? Ridiculous..

I have the same issues with Avatar form. For me it is totally random when i get kicked out from avatar form and when not. But i can say: it is a pain in the backside to heal a raid with this bug!

Legendary weapons

That’s debateable. What exactly makes them a key part of the endgame content? They don’t unlock anything. They aren’t a step up in performance over Ascended weapons. The stat swapping function isn’t useful.

I can not agree with that. The stat swapping function is the most important part of them (for me). I use some of my legendaries on more than one character. In the long term that is helping me to save materials & time to make more ascended weapons. I can sell the maths (or just don’t do the farming of maths for them) and use the money for something else i would like to have.

And they are a long term goal for may players (not very specific end contant, but a long term goal). I know more than one player who is saying “i’m working on my first legendary, it still need some time, but every time i’m logging in, i do a little bit for it”.

So please do not generalize something as “not useful” just because you can not make a use of it.

I’m sorry to see the qouted posting from you, because it show me someting, i hoped never to see from ANet, namely a kind of denying reality.

You right as far as you shipped all the above listed things. But the reality is, that those things were broken, bugged and partially just non existent at the time of delivery. You can read all the patch notes about all the broken things, missed components, missed part of the maps and so on, so there is no need to list them here.

Regadless the fact, that i like some of the new things very much (e.g. i like the mapdesing of Tangled Depths the most in the game, and if i could, i would pay the beer for it’s dev team for a month) i can not say, that the delivered content was a full package.
I belive that the people at ANet have been working very hard on every byte of code of HoT. But HoT was and still is a banaware. And this is the fact, what you don’t want or don’t like to see as your post point this out very clear.

I don’t care much about the new legendary weapons – but i was expecting them to! – and i’m not really sure about your motives to change the direction about what should be developed and what not.
I just wonder if the declining of the new legendaries also connotes, that ANet developed here a grind-system, whose desing at the end even for ANet itself is just to much?

I’m also not sure what do you mean with “sustainability” & “drought of content”. For me are dungeons content, but you don’t have a dongeon-team, so there will be no new content of this type. A Map would be new content, but we got allready 4 new maps, yes? So no new content of this type.

Fractals level 100+? No, thanks. I run them more than enough already.
New Fractals? You can develop new Fractals but you can not develop new Dongeons? Hard to belive.

Well the Living Story remain … that Living Story …

I’v hated all of them. (Maybe not the stories, but the kind they have been delivered)
Pushing out a new Story every two week made me feel as i would be in the rush-hour. Run, run, run to be able to do the events, to have some of the achivments etc. and at the same time not having time for anything. That is not content for me. That is something caused me to click on the “log out”-button.
My definition of sustainability don’t include that a player is rather clicking on the log out-button than play the game but it is include the fulfill of a promise. Even if it is a tough decision.

Teq, Triple Trouble, and Dungeons

I’m tired of those people with L2P issues. They just want to get reward for without any effort. Press 1 1 1 and get 100g.

With more than 4000 hours play time can not say that i’m a “casual” gamer. But im fully agreed with the OP and i also agreed with you.

The problem is, as far for me, is in the concept of the game itself. This game was not designed for organised group-content (exp. some paths of some dungeons). The Wold-Bosses and any other big events was designed as zerg-conent.

The first change came as Tequatl has been changed, the next one was the Tripple Trouble followed by Dry Top and the last one is the Silverwastes. ( i know the Scarlet Event was also here, but that is now history)

The good Part: the community organised itself and offers for all these bosses/areas organised events.
The very bad part: ANet never says "we change the concept behind the game, away from zerg-conent to “need to be organised”-group-content.

This is the reason why i agreed with the OP. If ANett say nothing, why sould ppl care and how ppl should know, that they need to be organised?

After a year or so ppl have learned how the Tequatl-Event works. And the event became “easy going”.
But after more than a half year there are still to many ppl who have no idea how the champions during “the Breach” and the Vinewrath-Events works. I have seen so many times midlane to fail, because only one Meser and/or Guard was used reflections.

And this is why i agreed with you. Many ppl have an L2P issu, but not with the class. They have an L2P issu with group-content and have an issu to be less selfish with class skills and slotted skills if they are doing group-conent.
The Silverwastes is the best and worst example of that: i’v seen many disgusting speeches in the map chat if Vinewrath fails. Mostly form some uber-player with the attitude “i’m doing my berserker stuff and you are here to heal me/ give me stability” etc. etc. I have seen there the loss of 8 sige carriers at one lane just because ppl was fighting the mobs at the entrance and did not care about the munition base.

Therefor yes, they are people with L2P issues. L2P issus to play group-conent instead of zerg-conent.

I’m really curious how HoT with it’s very group-conent oriented maps will work with such a palyerbase.

If you are using the “Teleport to Friend” Item and the destination Map if full, you get the Message that the choosen Word is full and you will not be teleported, but the Item is consumed.

Not any more. Finished and will not do it anymore.
The view is fantastic and i love all those wooden towers/roofs and the sight!
But albeit all nice things, this JP has no fun for me. As you said the punishment for falling down it to radical esp. if you are close tho the 4. chest. The loot from toll-chest is really not appropiate for the effort.

Why in the name of all that is unholy would a skill called Consume Conditions designed to remove conditions from your character give your character conditions. With this change Necros officially have no useful heal skill.

I don’t knwo who’s ******* idea it was. but this is the most stupid change i ever seen to healing skill in every mmo i ever played.

The situation ist not the same as Tirion and Archeage, but it is to 100% the same situation als Turbine (LOTRO) created a couple of years ago with the “Rinders of Rohan” expansion.

The FAQ said for weeks that the inctance cluster would be included. After a couple of days after the start of pre-order the FAQ was silenty changed and it has been said, the instance cluster is not included. Turbine said, there was a mistake with the FAQ.

The situation escalated because of the company’s behavior. Player begun cancel the pre-order and after Turbine openly threaten players with account bann, who cancel the pre-order throught CC or bank, even the FTC was called to look at the issue.
In a very last second Turbine changed the pre-order and included the instance cluster as it has been said for a long time in the FAQ.
The situation was solved, but the company’s reputation and credibility has gone and couldn’t be restored yet really well.

So Anet has said so…. that’s your argument? Well to many consumers it looks quite differently. But hey, no harm, no foul. If the core game is included for free, then give us existing players a free copy of the game.

Okay let me ask you this. Let’s say you bought the original GW2 for $60. Some time later they discounted the game to $40/$20/$10.

I’ve got 2 theories about the discount, let me know which one is more likely:

1). The game was really worth $30, but they made people who paid $60 pay for other people’s games.

2) The game was worth $60, but they sell it at a lower price later to bring in more people, because it makes business sense.

No i’m not outraged.
But let me ask you something else: what is the only one really necessary thing, what every MMO needs?

If your answer is: Players! Then you right.
You can have the cheapest MMO in the wold, if no one plays it.
Short-window sales actions are for “get more ppl into the game”. And that is asolutely legit and needed.
Reconsider the mega-server change in GW2. It was a clear sign, that the game don’t has enough players. Action had been taking: mega-server, cheep seeling etc.

For a Game like GW2 (resp. any other mmo with no sub-fee (f2p or b2p)) there are two type of players:
1) who is playing the game but not buy anything from ingame shops
2) who is playing but spend real money in ingame shops

Both way: you pay for playing. Either with your money or with your time (sometimes both)
An MMO need both type of players: 1. to have an ingame polulation, which make the game living and active and 2. to get revenue to pay the employees and devloping the game.

A gaming company have to take care about this. For mee it seems that the person who decided the current sheem for HoT, lost his view about the “big picture”.
Yes, there is always one person (not a team, not a company, that is coming after) who made the suggestion/decision.

What i’m really interested to know: what this person was thinkig in the case of HoT.
“oh …we do not get enough money from existing players, so lets make HoT to a full game and sell it for everyone for the same price!” ???

Well, as it seems the majority of the playersbase not agreed with this strategy and now just waiting with pre-purchase. Let us see who can hold his breath longer. ANet or the players.

I’m thinking that many people are wrong, with their complains about the HoT-Expac.

Now you can really clearly see, that the Price is worth for HoT. IF you are a new player.

For a couple of weeks ago (April 10-13), ANet was selling GW2 at (-75%) ~$10.
If you do little math, then you came to the price of approx $35-$40 as a real value for HoT.

You (ANet) using a couple of Trackers in your websites.
Twitter Bade, Goggle +1, Facebook Connect and AddThis.
(AddThis is using the very controversial “canvas fingerprintig” to track and follow a user everywhere over the internet)

However: i’m blocking all trackers.
Your websites (the news pages) are not working without this tracking. (see Attachment). An extremly bad approach and programming.

You did this? Well, I’m glad they changed it then. Every time I’ve seen peps advertising their guilds repeatedly like this, I’ve done the right-click report + Spam on them. Every one of them.

The feature was quite good to announce a guild-mission for players who’s guild can not do the mission etc. We used this possibility to help others to participate a guild mission.
Yes i know, it is still “possible”, but only if you send a different player to each map.

About the new TP

Hmmm strange, maybe try and limit the lvl ranges or choose the option to match to your combat level. Not really played with it too much myself tbh. Possibly a bug too, you might want to send in a bug report.

Unfortunatly this change is WAI.
Prior i used the TP to just to see what weapons/armours etc. are ingame (and use the “Prewiev” function). Sure i can now go and make finer search criteria, till i don’t get the “to many results” message. But this is annoying and a “downgrade” of functionality.

What is positiv: the search for attributes is now working properly and much better.

On the left hand side of the window you can filter search by clicking on the cog icon. That will bring up the old filters for fine, master, rare etc.

What is really stupid: you can not see all rare/exotic etc. weapons (even if you choose only one category). You will always got the "to many results … " message.
The worst change i ever seen to an “ingame shop” (as the TP is a kind of ingame shop) to remove paging from the results.

People always love to use excuses, like example “I can’t play this game anymore, since you nerfed my build” with skill nerfs and “You removed the mobs I was farming, now I can’t get any gold, I have to stop playing this game” with fixing exploit used for gold farming…

For me it seems, that you need some excuse, for whatever reason.

I for myself do not need any reason, or maybe the only one “i dont like what this game became” to quit.
For me personally was a trend to see in the game since ANet started focusing on the chinese market. The game begun to be more and more a grind instead of fun to play. The preliminary peak is reached for me with this update. It’s not only the leveling, but all the many small things that came out in the last weaks and months.

Should ANet goes to the chinese market? Yes!
They should go to every market they can reach and with it they can make that the company can develop and maintain a game.

Did ANet this job right? No!
It is a question of gaming cultur [and country law] (even if the chinese players disagree with this changes as much as we disagree with them).
Was this commotion of the “western” playerbase foreseeable? Yes.
Was this commotion avoidable? Yes.
ANet had these differences ignored or taken the consequences deliberately to purchase.

For me, this game has lost its soul and esprit. At the beginning and for a long time, it was “GuildWars 2”. Now, it is jut another stupid MMO.

I can’t quit this game, as there is no sub. fee for the game (yet!). But i can stop playing it and can stop buying gems.

And now i stopp both.

Sky Cristal Master achievement bug

Very similar to me:
on the 20th evening, i collected 5 of the 10 master cristals.
when i was logged in on the 21st after the first pach, the achivment was set back and told me i have only 1.
I have done then all the cristals but the achivment still says i have only 9/10.
I checked with http://dulfy.net/2014/05/21/gw2-sky-crystal-master-achievement-guide/ site, visited twice all the 10 cristals but non of them is active for me. I was looking for hours around if would be more master cristals but there are only those 10.
So i have 40/40 and 9/10.

Game Updates: Wardrobe, Transmutation, Outfits

I do not know the LOTR system

Is one of the easiest to use i ever seen in an MMO.
- You have an accountwide wardrobe
(you can purchase more space in the ingame store until you reach the max avail. space [150 att the moment])
- You have complete cosmetic outfit slots (like in GW 2prior this mess)
(you can buy more slots in the ingame store until you reach the max avai. number of slots [7 at the moment and this is to do per character])

How it works:
- If you like the skin of an armour or an outfit pice: put it in your wardrobe
(this generate a skin from it, after that you can destroy the original, the skin will be still available until you explicit destroy it)
- now you can use it: just drag&drop the skin from your wardrobe into the appropiate place (helmet, legging etc.) of one ouf you outfit slots.

Thats it. No cost. No “transmustation” . No fooling around.

You can use every tye of armour skin on every character i.e. use a heavy armour skin on your light armour class for outfits.
You can wear and switch your outfit every where and every time, also in combat.
You can (must) dye each skin pice individually but you can use more than one dye on each. if you do so, you can then chose the dye befor equip.

All dyes are craftable ingame by the “sholar” proffesion (much easier than in GW2) and are tradable. You can also buy them from the ingame shop. (But they are much less dyes there than in GW2)

Super easy to use, and I like the possibility of totaly mix’n match. (my main usually running around in a mix’n match of heavy, medium and light skins.)

I have killed appox 30 Knights and done the End-Event with Scarlet around 10 times and got just 3 (three!) cores. (tow different type).
I was thinking about to write an other rant-thread in the forum about how disgusting the RNG become in this game. but i’m still waiting to be cooled down from my anger.
In the last two days i wasn’t anymore in LA, because this bugged BS event really disappoint me.

As the Earth rotates each hour, the sun reaches a new zone on the surface of the planet. Time zones help to determine the correct start time of each day, so that foreigners have an easier time understanding why America’s daylight time is different than that of another country.

You don’t find it ironic that someone asks ArenaNet to “learn” two-dozen time zones, when if they learned one time-zone themselves the problem would go away?

It’s also the name of a Greek goddess. Did you know that?

She has been called ‘níke’ and not ‘naiki’ ;-)

However i find it ironic, that he use a name from a company, wich offers chronograph alongside sportswear too.

Not nerfing the bags, but nerfing their location. champion should spawn randomly and there should be a limit of people killing them. Why so?

1. Too much reward for something that can’t fail. It’s just impossible to fail this, it’s like standing in LA and getting free gold. You can go there gearless at level 1 and nothing will happen to you because there like 50 other people killing the same thing.

2. It’s bad for new players, exemple: he starts at queensdale, gets to level 80 and even at max level he still don’t know how to use his class. Same thing for wvw by the way : if people zerg all day long , they have no idea how to win 1v1 fights, I’ve seen some pathetic things on youtube, people are winning 7v1 in wvw because alot of them simply never learn how to PvP, they just blob up and spam 111.

3. What’s the point of those dynamic events and other zones like Orr ? If people can just stand in the same place and kill the same mobs over and over again? What’s the points of living story then?

4. The economy, people complain about precursors being 800g. If somebody stops playing for a week he is too far behind because people r making hunder of golds per day with this.

So yea, I think the champions should scale with the number of people. Exemple if it’s more than 10, then it could become harder by adding those ‘elite mobs’ . This would make open world harder if there 15 people , they will have to fight 10 elite mobs and 1 champion. Or they could simply spawn randomly on the map to avoid the whole zerg train farming them.

A lot of … well … interessting suggestions, but

0) So you have no idea where and when a champion will pop up and if he pop up into a running fight, you will be for sure everything else but exited. Randomly mean: you have to ask on the map for other players (good), but i don’t think that is very succesfull. There is allready a limit of people can kill any mob. 150, the limit of the map.

1) It is not a free gold. You still have to do your part (damage), then this is the only way you are qualifyed for loot. And a champ event can fail, mainly because there are not enough player there to kill the champion.
For a weekend i was running a champion zerg for a couple of hours, but i never got anything else then some blue or green. Not worth running hours around and ending up with trashloot.

2) If a player starts at Queensdale and leveling up to 80 there … well, that is his/her decision. Many times and many playser use to say “LTP!” (learn to play) to others, but what would you say to someone who is saying “LTP!” to you? Do you think you are really aware of all finesses of a class, so that you are able to decide when another player is doing right or not? This is the same useless discussion as “full berserker vs. not full berserker gear&skill”.

3. What’s the point of your question?
Do you suggest, that players who do not like the LS should be forced to do it?
Again: if someone farming champions, that is his/her decision and you (or me) do not have the right to say him, how he should spend his ingame time.
And at last, they drops T6 too, and that is something you have to farm if you are working for a legendary.

For me it seems you are complaning about things that you can’t do. like the campions farming. just because you do not like it, or you do not have the time for it.

Since i’m playing this game (more than a year) i’v only seen 2 precursor drops. One of them was my at the Karka-Event last November. The other one droped from a normal mob during the Jubilee-pavilion for a guild member. Please note, that on the TP you see all offerts from all servers and think about it. If it would be true what you are saying, then it would be hundreds and hundreds of precurors on the TP.

I do not run the champoin zergs becaue for me it is to boring. but i do not think that is enough reason to nerv them.

People want harder content not because they want a class role specifically – I think you added your own interpretation there.
Harder content can be done without having class roles – and the AR dungeon proved that.
You can have harder content without having more defined roles – but I think that what the player base wants is harder content coupled with better rewards – aka more efficient way of making gold.

I’ve rarely heard of people wanting harder stuff for the sake of it. Most of the people I’ve talked to want " harder content that is worth doing " aka good rewards if you’re a good player and can complete it.

What is harder content? For me it would be more brain-challenging content. Mindless butchery with more mob with more HP is may be harder but noway really challenging.

I agree with you, that a hard…. let say more challenging content should be revarded appropiate. White, blue and green is not really appropiate (but that’s would be a discussion about RNG)

I did not say we need a strict trinity, but it would be great to have more roles for content than the usual dps-dps-selfheal-dps skilltree. The ability to have more skills to go deeper in a direction like CC, heal and dps too would be good for this game, but only if the content would support such a playstyle.
Pleas do not tell me, that would be end in an lfg like “only cc necro” etc. this is allready the case with “onyl berserker warrior” and likewise lfg-requests.

Remove toughness, vit, &hp on gear.

It would be easier for ANet to buy out them from the TP as pressing palyers to do such a grind just to remove some amount of things from the game. i’m sure after the event it will be much more candy corn floating around as before.

That would be a terrible idea. In order for the devs to do that, they would have to artificially inject gold in to the economy. That would be a sure way to screw up the in game economy very quickly and would not solve the problem.

Manipulating the TP is one of the things the devs do on regular basis. They are watching the economy of the game and monitoring the TP too and they can act and do act if they think it is necessary.

I’m pretty sure that vast majority would agree that 6.5 Hours a day, kitten hours a week, playing is far far from casual, and is more towards Hardcore. Spending kitten hours per week is very close to “employed for gaming”

I said, i don’t want any maths on this! ;-)
Why the math is wrong: you forgot holidays and other things where i do not have to work. 6.5 hours every single day, i could and would never ever be able to do that.

There is an obvious reason anet has done this. As another poster mentioned, there is a huge amount of candy corn floating around. They made a mistake last year and made the corn far too easy to get, which they corrected this year. Now they have added in these recipes to empty the economy of the excess corn.

1600hrs. based on that number I am a causal player. Congratz you proved nothing. I got 9300AP which based on leaderboards is not that high either.

You are a funny one.

Over roughly a period of 400 days since release you spend 200 working days (8h a day) on GW2. working five days a week means you spent 40 weeks of work on this game…
I really hope you are sarcastic with this casual thing, if not, well, sorry.

I thought first you right -1600 is a lot -, but then i looked at my /age.

No, i do not want any math on this. I have a 40-50 hours/week job, an RL and other hobbies as playing online. I’m sure not the very casual gamer but still far from “employed for gaming” and i know a couple of players who spent much more time as me in this game.

So what casual is, is also just a very subjectiv definition.

At what point do you have to grind for materials? Hell i got a stockpile from just playing the game normally. If your grinding for the materials then your not playing right and should take a break.

Either you never made any ascended weapons or you bought the stuff that can be on sale.
What is normally for you? i have 3 80 level chars and for me is normally to do 80 level stuff. mainly dungeons and fractals and a coulpe of bigger group event, wvw. Now i’m forced to go out in areas i don’t like so much and collect the mats i need: iron, wood etc.
i have had a loot from that mats but it was and is far not enough to replace all the exotics of my 3 chars with ascended foe example my main has/had four different exotic sets (armour, jewelry, weapons (and from that also more than one)).
To carft all that weapons just for one char is a bit grindy, but for 3 chars it is very grindy.

Look at it this way. Have you ever seen a firefighter who stacks tons of defensive stats and goes into a building through hellfire and worse while evading burning debree? No.

You right, all the firefighter are going always naked into a buring hous to rescue the people.

In my standard (fatigue) uniform I weigh 240 pounds. With all of this gear on I weigh 307 pounds. Imagine wearing 67 pounds of gear while fighting a fire on a hot Arizona summer day! That is why it is so important that firefighters exercise regularly, eat healthy and stay in good physical shape.

A lot of deffensiv stats and they do much more … “exercise regularly, eat healthy and stay in good physical shape” … also a lot of deffnsive stats.

Well, i think you nuked yourself.
