Totally agree with OP.
Easy fix, give us a check box or some type of option to Low Res or just shut off other people’s gliders, the Raven one is horrible too.

I also expect to see Kaineng City in GW2 before being able to remove a crafting profession from a character (remove not over-write), change what the mouse buttons do in Action Camera, or have a bind to CLEAR ALL (open windows/dialogs) from my screen.
The Dark Crystal [TDC] – Henge of Denravi
I fully expect flying mounts with capes before a belt pouch, fixed targeting, customizable U.I. or a Precursor drop to my account.

See, even with me making a third comment, watch how quickly this thread is buried.
The Dark Crystal [TDC] – Henge of Denravi
Considering I thought we would have capes before mounts though, since afaik I’m the first one to even mention a belt pouch I hardly expect it to ever happen just like the broken action camera hard wired mouse buttons, the targeting info hard wired in place and the general crappiness of the targeting graphics (tiny little red arrow in a sea of red) and ability to quickly acquire the proper and intended one. Let alone being able to save Specializations and Traits, I now expect flying mounts and capes before any of this.
The Dark Crystal [TDC] – Henge of Denravi
Yeah and call it a Belt Pouch. I’ve suggested this long ago.

It would be extremely hard, if not impossible to make those things stack.
Unrelated to the primary thrust of this topic, but couldn’t you add a Mystic Forge recipe to combine 4 25-use BL kits into 1 100-use BL kit, and then 2 100-use BL kits with 2 25-use BL kits to get a 250-use BL kit? That would be pretty legendary if so, because I currently have ~30 BL kits and they’re way too valuable to just waste.
yeah if i could replace my 25-use kits with 10x less 250-use kits that would be pretty swell
I’m happy to poke the Commerce Team about adding some kind of conversion to allow folks to condense multiple 25 use BL salvage kits into one larger kit. I only promise to poke, I can’t promise they will do it
Four 5-use Ascended Salvage Kits buying a 20-use would seem fairly easy with the merchant method already in use in the Fractal’s lobby. Would definitely be nice to have a way to up-convert both the 5-use ASK and the 25-use BLSK
The Dark Crystal [TDC] – Henge of Denravi
Just finished A Sweet Friend with New Afterlife for Quaggan as the last one, and only got a chest for the New Afterlife AP, and nothing for A Sweet Friend which is showing completion, I’m not sure if I got the 25ap but I know for certain that I had 1 Cob before I completed it and still only have 1 Cob.
Mostly posting to see if anyone else had this bug, if the answer is to submit a ticket I may, but probably will not bother with a 5-10g loss, because 120 of them is pretty far off regardless.
The Dark Crystal [TDC] – Henge of Denravi
I wiped outta 82 at least twice, the poison trails down in 3 hits mostly. Didn’t notice the hammer bug but barely had time with mobs agroing on respawn. 82 should be about 104 as it plays today.

Action Camera is an afterthought for GW2, and a pretty basic and lame answer to something called Combat Mode. I have always tried to post about the one thing Anet could incorporate into AC fairly simply since AC launched, and I finally see someone else getting somewhat close to it here.
LET US CHOOSE WHAT THE MOUSE BUTTONS DO!!!
Two special binds, that must correspond to other binds or they do nothing but fire the key placed in them. This would allow any one bindable action to be placed on each button, simple, customizable, and I consider AC broken until implemented.
Also better cursors, the white dot is a pain to see in the Shiverpeaks. Colored/dyeable? or even the negative color of what it is over.
If anyone reading this is sick of waiting for any improvements to AC and would like to know more about why it even made it into the game, send me an in-game mail and we can talk on TS.
The Dark Crystal [TDC] – Henge of Denravi
Wishlist: [work in progress]
1. Bindable mouse buttons for Action Camera – Let me choose what they do in AC.
2. Renewed use of character personalities – Original choice determines voice type of character, see 3.
3. New voices for characters – leaving the originals in tact but adding two(2) more options per character type corresponding to the personality type chosen at character creation, all current characters get a chance to choose this again.
4. A way to press one button once to clear the screen of ALL windows/menus – this has been sorely missing since launch.
5. Make class-specific special skills viewable like weapon and slot skills – e.g. Necromancer Death Shroud, land and underwater; basically any skill set that swaps out the weapon bar, including Engineer’s kits that can only be viewed/moused-over when in use.
6. BLC Keys more obtainable – increase drop rate, merchant who sells them for Spirit Shards, up the per-week limit from personal stories a little, anything.
7. Easier to see target marker arrows – options to make it flash/move more, options to change the color of the arrow and base ring, red in a sea of red is hard to see.
8. A sigh emote “/sigh” – I miss this almost as much as the clear all bind in GWs.
9. BLTC will re-purchase, for gems, any consumable it sells for gems – including all bank/merch/TP expresses, Repair Canisters, Revive Orbs, etc. anywhere between 10 and 50% of sell value would be fine.
10. Build Templates and Equipment Templates – make them separate but linkable to each other.
The Dark Crystal [TDC] – Henge of Denravi
Since there are still requests for capes in GW2, I figured I might as well ask for the one thing I see nobody asking for but has a slightly higher probability of happening than capes. (which I see as a 0.0001% chance)
- Bindable mouse buttons for Action Camera, the forced binds make it unusable for me and I’m sure many others. Add 2 binds to the list ACmouse1 and ACmouse2, these are special binds in that when mouse 1 is pressed while in AC it fires whatever key is placed in the ACmouse1 bind slot, they can only have one key bound at a time. Place mouse1 and mouse2 respectively to retain the current functionality.
- Build templates, even just slot skills and traits would be enough.
- Key Ring, like currencies, except for keys.
- Clear ALL bind, maybe something that just hits ESC about a dozen times. One key press to clear everything open on screen and to get back to the fight quickly.
- Customizable colored overhead target marker arrows, for a brief and glorious time this was almost implemented with yellow overhead arrows on targeted enemies, then it went away. If we could choose what color the overhead arrow is, some of us might not have as much of a struggle with targeting as we currently do. Make it simple, same colors as Commander tags, I can see the purple one the best as it clashes with almost everything else on my screen. But a red arrow in a sea of red names is hard to find. Maybe allow the Called Target bullseye to be colorable as well, it is much easier to see than the smaller arrow, however.
- Allow us to trade Tomes of Knowledge for other things than Spirit Shards or make Spirit Shards more useful to those of us that have all the level 80s we are going to make until a new class/race happens. HoT Mastery Points come to mind similar to how the Proofs of Heroics work for Hero Points now, or did at inception.
Here’s a few that I think are even less likely than capes but I’ll mention them anyway:
- Allow us to sell boosters, revive orbs, repair canisters etc. back to the gem store for a greatly reduced (50% or less) amount of gems.
- Raise the per-week key limit from personal stories to 2-3 per week or introduce a merchant that will exchange 10+ BLCs for 1 BLC key, limit 1 key per week.
- Add special skills to the Build/Weapon Skills tab, below Downed Skills. Celestial Avatar, Death Shroud etc. skills that are currently only view-able for a few seconds as they are in use. Mostly just to be able to read the mouse-over description without having to screen cap or check them on wiki.
- add a “/sigh” emote.
The Dark Crystal [TDC] – Henge of Denravi
-make the cursor (white dot) color changable (to any unlocked dye color?) or the negative of the color it is currently over, it is almost impossible to see anywhere in the Shiverpeaks.
-hard-wiring what the mouse buttons do is, however, the most broken aspect of Action Camera. Two special binds could be added to the Control Options where instead of being a unique key bind it would require that what key/mod(s)+key is entered into these 2 special binds be bound to something else or if left blank or unique would simply send the key press when one of the mouse buttons is pressed in AC or do nothing.
For example: to emulate the current, hard-wired, functions of Mouse1 (aka LMouse, LMouseButton, Primary Mouse Button, etc.) the 1 key (assuming 1 is bound to Weapon Skill 1) would be entered into the Control Options special bind AC Mouse1 (or whatever Anet would call it). I’m not exactly sure what the current functionality of Mouse2 (aka RMouse, Secondary Mouse Button, etc.) actually emulates, it is either a simple “Left Click” at the white dot cursor location or it is emulating the Lock Autotarget bind under Targeting. If it is the latter, that would be simple to reproduce by simply putting the same keybind into both Lock Autotarget and AC Mouse2 special bind.
Another example: If Up Arrow is bound to Move Forward and Down Arrow is bound to Move Backward and one wanted to make the mouse buttons move forward and back when using Action Camera the binds would look like this…
Move Forward = Up Arrow
Move Backward = Down Arrow
…
AC Mouse1= Up Arrow
AC Mouse2 = Down Arrow
These 2 special binds would allow any other bindable action to be placed on the mouse buttons when using Action Camera and facilitate maximum customizability to all players who want to use Action Camera to its fullest potential. Until this change is implemented Action Camera is basically worthless to most players.
The Dark Crystal [TDC] – Henge of Denravi
Action Camera, great idea, but still completely useless.

Here’s somethings I still don’t see anyone else talking about:
Belt Pouch – a new UI element that has up to 4 key-bindable slots for at least consumables if not for weapons and armor as well. The first slot is obtained at Level 20, 2@40, 3@60 and all 4 at 80. If weapons/armor are possible they are still only swappable out of combat. Could even consider making it so you can stow an improvised weapon (one you just picked up off the ground) in the Belt Pouch for later use.
Action Camera – is great but we need to be able to change what Mouse1 and Mouse2 do. Simply make two new special binds in the list called AC Mouse1 and AC Mouse2 that accept the input of any key but only work if that key is also bound to something else like Walk Forward or Strafe Left or Dodge for example. Hardwiring what the mouse buttons do in Action Cam makes it totally useless to me and, I’m sure, many others.
Almost forgot, bring back personality traits, Charm, Dignity, Ferocity, and have them make a slight increase to certain stats, maybe even expanding beyond the three originals to encompass all available stats. Or find something else meaningful to give this part of the original concept of “My Story” new legs, because it’s not gone but it’s not really there anymore either.

Oh and make the AC dot at least have a few color options if not just dye-able, cannot see that thing in the Shiverpeaks.

Templates
Districts
Additional weap slots
And so forthThere are many features of GW1 that people have been asking for since launch though Districts are more of a post Megaserver request. The Templates your asking for are a request even older than mounts or SAB. So there really isn’t much of a chance if any that we will ever get templates in this game.
Pve, PvP, WvW, Water, JP, Roaming, Running, Farming, etc…
[Build] “Templates” – 100% YES, if they are finally set on the build structure.
“Districts” – very much so since Megaserver, it’s the same thing, give us the choice.
“Additional weap slots” – I’m not sure what you mean here other than the 4 slots GWs had. I have wanted a Belt Pouch for so long it’s not even funny, anything that says “Consumable,” and/or weapons (or anything equippable?) should be able to fill up, up to, 4 slots that are key bindable, you get 1 slot at 20, #2 at 40, 3@60, 4@80, really simple. Of course you still could only swap out equipped weapons/items OOC, just like clicking in inventory.
“mounts” – never gonna happen, you’ll see a cape first.
“SAB” – I have no idea what this is, please explain.
They need to add something else now too though.
Action Camera is great and all, but hard-wiring what Mouse1 and Mouse2 do, needs to change. Put two special binds in the bindlist that tell Mouse1 and Mouse2 what key to emulate while in Action Cam that corresponds to another bound command.
Examples: if you have ‘A’ bound to “Strafe Left” and ‘D’ bound to “Strafe Right” and you want Mouse1 to be S.Left and Mouse2 to be S.Right then the entered key bind for “AC Mouse1” would be ‘A’ and “AC Mouse2” would be ‘D’. If you were to put unbound keys into these special binds the mouse buttons would do nothing in AC.
Again, real simple stuff they could easily add, but probably wont.

I quit. Apparently I payed $50USD to make Guild Wars 2 no longer work on my outdated computer. I might check back next month. It was a good game while it lasted.
p.s. anyone know what “boworange” is because it’s in almost every error log I’ve been able to look at.
The Dark Crystal [TDC] – Henge of Denravi
I have a one word question: Districts?
Pulldown menu:
America Megaserver – 01
America Megaserver – 02
[Homeworld] Server – 01
Guested Server – 01 [Servername] (if selected)
Guested Server – 02 [Servername] (if selected)
International Megaserver and European Megaserver could be added to the pulldown menu if you ever merge the whole game globally like GWs.
p.s. I would pay at least 300 Gems for an in game item that when clicked would tell/show me where the next World Boss is going to spawn and a countdown timer, something most likely of asuran handywork.
The Dark Crystal [TDC] – Henge of Denravi
Movable/sizeable UI elements.
Some UI elements are movable and sizeable but not all, I know of one and that would be chat, click and drag to move to top and the corner to resize.
The Mini-Map moves as well but I’m talking about the quest text and target frame (unit frame), the little swatch that says ‘Talk(F)’ ect., and basically make all elements movable like in GW1. Would love to see them hideable with a slide out feature if you mouse to that area of the screen. I do, however, like the skill thingy as is but I’m sure others would change it.
But the biggest problems I have with the game are the two I mentioned above if those don’t get fixed by the 10/1 update, I may stop playing for a while, they’re both really getting on my nerves.
The Dark Crystal [TDC] – Henge of Denravi
CLOSE ALL DIALOGS One key press to clear the screen and close the map.
Call Target when not partied. Handicapping a solo player was not part of the promises for this game.
Movable/sizeable UI elements.
I want this game to be a GW1 clone on steroids, NOT A WoW CLONE!

They have mentioned that they wanted to save some weapon types for expansions, specifically mentioning the 2h axe. So, their answer is, someday.
The Dark Crystal [TDC] – Henge of Denravi
I disagree, leave Esc as is, ADD a bind to CLOSE ALL DIALOG BOXES and the map with ONE button press.
It’s called the escape key. It’s just that right now it stops your auto-running for no good reason.
NO, everything no matter how little or how much is open should be completely wiped from the screen with ONE key press, ONCE, that’s it. Period, end of story, it’s in GW1 it needs to be in GW2.
Esc means STOP/CANCEL it is as it should be, the screen needs to have a clear all.

(Non-unique Bind) means a key bind that has the same funtionality that the ‘Jump’ and ‘Swim up’ currently do, i.e. this bind does not overwrite the same key press for other Non-unique Bindables, e.g. Binding <I> to ‘Inventory Dialog’ and ‘Hero Dialog’ is allowed, Binding <B> to ‘Move Backwards’ and ‘Swim Down’ is still allowed like it currently is. This is useful but can really mess things up if you do it wrong, but that’s what the ‘Reset Defaults’ button is for. Obviously this should overwrite exact opposites like turn right/turn left should be exclusive to each other but other than that it should be wide open.

It is true there are no stupid questions, but the best question is
Why?
to get to why you need to look at the situation and symptoms first, with the final goal being the why.
So we start with “what”, what is causing this dissatisfaction, what is different?
GW1 combat control only differs from GW2 combat control in two (2) ways…
- There is NO ‘click to move’ (to location on ground, or general direction in 3D) in GW2 – Anet is firm on this, I’m sure.
- You select a target with RMB in GW2, GW1 does not force (or allow?) you to do this.
^this is the primary why to the question “what is different?” not the idea that ‘click to move’ needs to be implemented or not.
Simple fix right?
Just remove selecting with RMB, right? WRONG!
Make it bindable AND toggleable or not, same with the “built-in” functionalities of <Alt>, <Ctrl>, and <Shift> and differentiate between LAlt and RAlt, LCtrl – RCtrl ect. (look at Descent: Freespace binds some time, GL finding that one, or running it on a new machine, lol)

The Dark Crystal [TDC] – Henge of Denravi
I seem to remember a certain, well, strong dislike for WoW players by most GW1 players, I don’t want GW2 to be like WoW, I want it to have the same, or very similiar, UI customizability and targeting mechanics as GW1, that would make me very happy, all other fixes would be icing on the cake, even if the cake is a lie.
The Dark Crystal [TDC] – Henge of Denravi
- CLOSE ALL DIALOG BOXES bind, this should close EVERYTHING on the screen that is not a part of the standard UI with one button press. (Remove everything except what you see in the screenshot below, including close the map quickly.)
- ALLOW ‘CALL TARGET’ WHILE NOT PARTIED Why am I handicapped if I don’t bug someone to party up with me?
The Dark Crystal [TDC] – Henge of Denravi
I will say that I use them to troll. I have a few eagle ones and I’ll occasionally swoop down on innocent people in cities screeching “Amerrrricaaaaa!!!”
Very funny if the reality wasn’t so sad.
I just started collecting the BLC keys, and chests of course. I’m at about 4 chests to 1 key if I remember right. The tonics take up way too much space as is too.
The Dark Crystal [TDC] – Henge of Denravi
Obviously not, Esc Wars forever!
The Dark Crystal [TDC] – Henge of Denravi
I have tried to read as much of these ‘Suggestions’ as I can, yet no where do I see anyone else asking for a bind to clear everything off the screen that is not part of the standard GUI.
Does anyone else even care to have this feature, did anyone else even use it in GW1?
Am I completely insane to want to be able to hit ONE BUTTON, ONCE, to be back in the action?
If not I guess I’ll just go right along with all of you hitting Esc, Esc, Esc, Esc, Esc, oh wait it popped the menu up gotta hit Esc one more time, there we go, now I can fi… watch my character go down… look around for the enemy… oh wait, pay for a far too expensive res, that was fun, right?

Would really appreciate the ability to rebind all key commands.

I’ve been trying to tell the devs this for months, on the official, waivered, feedback part of GWWiki. But, alas…
I would also like to request a bind option to CLOSE ALL DIALOG BOXES while you’re at it.
And one more thing, ALLOW ‘CALL TARGET’ WHEN NOT IN A PARTY.
Hiding the UI is there, it’s the second from the bottom under User Interface, ‘Show / Hide’ right above ‘Mail’.
Giving us Alt+, Shift+, and Ctrl+ modifiers is great, but then you take them over and force us to use them your way, kinda feels like government, but I digress.
One word.
ULTRACUSTOMIZABILITY !!!

</><s><enter> already does put chat into the light green ‘say’ channel, which afaik is just those within a certain shouting distance of your character.
/d is ‘squad’ just in case.

Funny, that was on both log-in screens, or at least the tri-color coding one of Beta.
GW2 UI is BROKEN. Please fix it.

You know those ads that say “one weird little trick”? Guess what? Open Hero dialog, click on the PvP tab, click on “Go to the Heart of the Mists”, walk through the portal to LA, you are now at the hub of the game for FREE! Yes, Virginia, you do have a hearth stone, to LA, so stop paying to jump back to LA.
Afaik it is now free to move about inside of a main town even at 80, so there’s that problem solved. Here’s my suggestion on how to reduce WP costs. Continue to vary it according to level, but cut it 50% if your character is standing within the range that originally opened the WP you are near, maybe change some existing WPs to special WPs in each zone that act this way. For example, if you are at a range of 600 or whatever it is from a WP any other WP you jump to costs you 50% less than jumping while not near another WP, or just do this for the special ones like the WP nearest Claypool or Mabon Market, the places that have the crafting stations would be ideal for this. Expanding on the auto-hearth stone idea, just make it free for each race to jump back to their respective home city from anywhere on the map.
Btw, death penalty is death penalty, get used to it or stop dying, it appears as if it’s nothing like what WoW has (had) with massive costs for armor repair if it’s heavy armor and a pitance if it’s cloth, but I haven’t played WoW in years so they may have changed that.

I have not read all the posts here, but this is what I’m seeing…
- I want this game to be like WoW
- I want macros
- I want mounts
- I want to target the target of my target (but only while in a party, I guess)
- I want to be able to inspect other player’s gear and specs
- I want to be able to harrass anyone I please with Duel-me requests
- I want addons
- I want a hearth stone
- I want a barber-shop so I can change my hair style/color
- I want to be able to zoom out so my character looks like an ant even if it is a Norn
Yes, these things would be nice, some I never expect to see, like addons. But that’s the problem, these suggestions would be nice to have that’s it.
How about we focus on absolutely, positively NEED to haves?
- CLOSE ALL DIALOG BOXES (including full-screen map) (WoW does not have this, maybe this is why I have not seen anyone else even mention this. GW1 does, why not GW2?)
- CALL TARGET WHEN NOT PARTIED (Seriously WTF? I thought one of the promises was that you could solo this game all the way, why am I handicapped if I choose to play solo?)
- <F12> <C> to log out to character select (This was implemented in less than a week on GW1 after the choice was available by mouse click.)
- MOVE UI ELEMENTS (not everyone has 2500×1900 resolution, let us move more than the map and chat. When I target something, 9 times outta 10 the ENORMOUS target info covers the target’s upper half at least, let us move this kitten out of the middle of the KITTEN KITTEN screen!)
- Remember ALL dialog boxes position’s (Great strides have been made on this, all but one of the most used dialog boxes, THE BANK and crafting stations, which is a bank.)
I could mention the camera problems but since these NEEDS WILL benefit ALL players (not just those of us with screen realestate deficiency syndrome) I would hope that the devs would place them as high on a priority list as the camera, cross-world partying, and trading post problems.
IMO this game is still very much in wide open, payed for, beta, mostly because of the UI issues.
Thank you for listening to us, even if we complain too much.

GW1 has ‘close all dialogs’, GW2 needs it. WHY, WHY, WHY is this still not a part of the binds? Esc, Esc, Esc, Esc, Esc, Esc until my character stops moving and I am forced to click on the ‘return to game’ or get the odd extra Esc in there is really getting annoying. Anyone else?
And if that part is not broken enough, WHY, WHY, WHY, can I NOT CALL A TARGET unless I’m in a party or inviting someone to a party? How does this make sense? If you are gonna seperate something like this use the skull, triangle, moon and diamond thingy for in party only, LET ANYONE CALL A TARGET.
Sorry for the screaming but these 2 issues are making me want to go back to playing GW1.
And if you are clueless as to why I want to call a target while not partied, here’s just a few reasons:
- one word, underwater
- mark target, change targets, re-acquire marked target, why do I need to be in a party to gain this functionality? WHY?
- who the hell am I shooting at in a cluster-f#@&?
I’ve put this here in the hopes that others will complain enough about these 2 very broken parts of this game to get them fixed faster, so, yes, it is in the correct part of the forum. Just in case, I have previously put this in the GW1 wiki feedback for GW2.
And please let us move the target info, it is #3 on my list of annoying things about this UI. It’s broken, fix it.
