Please fix this already Anet.
Still can’t log in.
When will this get fixed? Are the solutions some people suggested legit? some response from Anet?
Same here. And still no response from Anet?! Are you even working on a fix for this?
@Donari Do you like it? I guess it works a bit better with bulkier armor such as yours but the front part especially just seems too “fat” to me.
The one Waldir posted is different, looks like they added that part in front of the mouth. I prefer the first version.
@GrandmaFunk There was already the gem store art included in this patch, so I guess they plan on making it available in the next couple of weeks. I doubt they plan to make any changes.

It just doesn’t look good or something you would expect. The scarf is huge and looks uncomfortable on my male human. Is it possible to still change it or give us more options. I was excited for it but it just doesn’t fit at all.
Here are the codes to preview it in the game since I’m unable to attach my own screenshots atm :

Please don’t remove the most interesting and definitely the most pleasant section of this forum Anet.
I wouldn’t mind if it was all combined to a single forum for all races. There were also huge character screenshot threads in each of the racial forums, why would you close them all?
I personally don’t think Caithe is evil and we will have to kill her.
The pale tree probably knows her secret if it gave you the memory seeds right?
My guess is this is where the split between Faolain and Caithe happens while they or one of them does something horrible and Caithe want to redeem herself somehow with the egg.
Different voice actress…It took 8 posts for someone to point out the most obvious reason?!
The screenshot is obviously altered with a yellow filter so you probably won’t be able to do an exact match.
The dyes might be white/celestial, oxblood or another dark shade of red and black or a dark blue dye.

I understand your frustration. As someone who loves sylvari and have a bunch of them I have to agree the hardest thing about them is to actually create them.
They have a huge variety of options for skin, pattern, glow colors etc.
I think it’s all about preparation. I usually determine what color scheme and theme I want to run on a sylvari. They are not like humans where pretty much anything works and you can change it on a whim. Your skin, pattern, glow and hair colors pretty much lock you into certain palette.
I usually end up using at least 1 makeover kit even with the planning when I hit 80 and decide on final look for final touches.
I suggest you to find the best color scheme for you, one you won’t get bored quickly. Also check other peoples sylvari posted in threads here, that can be a great inspiration.
Alkonium 6.5/10, colors are a bit dull and you could mix it a bit.

Well those are not bugs, those are actually the features of sylvari cultural armor. It is affected by your skin color. If that bothers you that much then try to find dyes that match those shades.
I hope they fix this soon and also both new male ones.
Err.. Heavy T1 has a pretty obvious glow on the “gems” located on the shoulders, boots, gloves and pants for male version. The female set also glows but on the lines located on coat, pants and boots.
It’s actually the most gloving set out of all 3 in my experience…
As someone who never played Gw1 I have to say the armor people posted looks kinda horrible. I’m pretty satisfied with what Gw2 has to offer.
Leveling is just as easy as before and I can still complete maps above my level and in under leveled gear. Unless you only know how to use AA there should be no problems. About the transmutation stones. There is actually a large variety of armors below level 80 you can get from crafting/drops/karma/cultural AND if it’s an alt you can use all the expensive dyes on your main from the start.
Almost every pair of leggings in game has a dye channel that colors the leggings belt. Do you know how many chest armor pieces allows you to see the belt on a male medium armor character? Exactly 0.
There are 2-3 armor pieces that end just under your butt, and a few more that are a bit above your knees. Everything else is just a long coat that reaches under your knees.
Why should I bother picking a pair of leggings with an interesting look when that piece of armor wont be visible unless I forget to repair my chest armor?
Is that simple I want a vest, a hoodie, a simple shirt to equip my ranger. The Neo style long trenchcoat gets old quite fast.
I agree but from what I read I gathered they are basically forced to make medium armor look like a long coat.
There are already several medium armor sets that use belly shirts on the ladies (the infamous underboob that all female human thieves use.) And there are tons that aren’t trench coats.
My ranger looks like a centurion.
Ok I used trench coat term loosely. What I meant was basically every long coat or top that has parts of it going over the waist line. Like the under-boob armor you mentioned has the flappy part (with daggers) hanging to the side. Females do have the duelist and krytan top that don’t follow the pattern, true but male have none.
I guess the female seam design offers more variation but male doesn’t.
(edited by Soulmyr.8094)
Reading the town clothes discussion and response from Curtis about armor classes, mixing etc, if I understand correctly medium armor is technically forced to be trench coats only due to the way the seam rules for this weight class are designed.
Basically the coat has to go over the pants unlike with light armor where it ends at the waist line.
So due to technical constrains we will never see a medium top that won’t have something hanging over the waist line?
So the point is the concept of town clothes is gone. Those existing town clothes that can mix with armor are now armor skins (mostly hats), the clothes released as costumes are now fixed as such (no mixing) and the clothes that are not costumes or don’t mesh with any of the existing armor weight models are now tonics.
Costumes are what is replacing the whole town clothes idea.
At least give us an option to refine into higher tier luck essence than currently. Something like 10 or more exotic ones for 1 ascended.
Edit: Even better make luck work like karma so it’s automatically gained. Currently it’s nothing but a boring time sink.

Actually the chance of biggest profit is already over. Those who managed to buy the unidentified dyes in the morning at the old price and sold it when it peaked ~1g made the most of it. This might even turn into gossamer/ori fiasco that happened with ascended armor release.
I feel this will turn out similar to what happened with gossamer and ori when ascended armor was released.
I agree with the OP..
The armors in Guildwars 2 really don’t look good at all..
Al lot of the armors actually look the same and even the ‘’high end’’ armors aren’t looking ‘’high end-ish’’.The costumes in the gemstore aren’t very pretty either (male or female). I would not buy them.
I love playing MMOs and investing time/money in how my character looks.. I try to make them look as beautiful/wicked as possible, but GW2 does not let me do that.
I play another game alongside GW2 and the armor I obtained there yesterday is just gorgious.
If there isn’t any armor that fits your tastes at all then I’m afraid there won’t ever be one. Maybe gw2 art style just isn’t suited for you.
I play alone because most guild I’ve joined were focused on grinding and farming and that being the main point of conversation in the guild chat.
I see no need for it. Even the blue ones look downright terrible and cringe-worthy.
There are already a couple of long hair styles available and those are not shoulder length. Shoulder length is the 5th human male option on the chart linked in the second post. Waist long hair for norn males are actually not possible if you take a look at their models. It would either clip straight into their model or it would have to stick away from the body at a very unnatural angle.
Waist long hair look wrong on a dude and should be something left in the past. Just cut the kitten thing off.
Tengu would be a perfect race with a great potential. Faces could resemble different kind of birds and you could choose a feather pattern similar to charr.
I don’t really understand the obsession with Kodan. They are just armored bears and plenty of other games pulled that off already.
Yes to more skimpy male armor. Blue and purple humans? I’m out of here.
But you have the right arrow there at the second panel. What happens when you click it?
You seem to be missing 2 faces not just one.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Malyck’s tree and his people have already been destroyed/corrupted if they are really in such proximity to the dragon and that’s why he was separated from his tree while still in the pod.
Omadd’s machine didn’t disconnect her from the dream and I don’t think it was supposed to do that itself.
“With the Pale Tree’s desperate words and her own raucous laughter growing echoing across the void, Ceara plunged through the vision of the great tree and beyond.”
The connection seems to be severed after her conversation with the Pale tree and whatever happened after it and before she woke up is when she made contact with Mord.
Maybe that’s because he was for some reason separated from his tree while he was still in his pod.
But how do we know the Sylvari from the other (Malyck’s) tree aren’t connected with their dream or that they aren’t immune to dragon corruption?
Malyck has no memory of anything before waking up. He only feels a great sense of distance, and loss. What if something happened to his people and the tree?
If their mother tree was destroyed would that result in loss of the dream or even memory? Would that make them vulnerable to the dragons?
Maybe Sylvari can’t be corrupted as long as their mother tree is alive and the dream exists. Scarlet got under Mordy control due to breaking the connection and was susceptible to his influence.
All heavy armor sets have parts that glow.
I feel The Crossing is usually the go-to staff for people who can’t be bothered to put much effort into their Necro design. :P
The only thing that bothers me is that these new quaggan tonics make you look bigger than the original tonics (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Quaggan_Tonic).
‘’Transforms the player into a baby quaggan when used.’’
I thought these were all baby quaggans. Grown up ones look like the green one.
The only thing that bothers me is that these new quaggan tonics make you look bigger than the original tonics (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Quaggan_Tonic).
Yes I think Sylvari lore-wise are capable of changing their appearance. Canach (living story character) changed his appearance drastically from fresh green to grim grey pigment, “hair” and even face. There are also some NPC’s in Caledon forest who changed their appearance to look like Nightmare courtiers so they can spy on them.
Even a body tattoo that replaces chest armor will do if designing new sets is too much of a hassle.
I doubt we will see new cultural armor. It is all gem store now that ascended is out of the way. Only an expansion could probably change that or maybe legendary armor.
Nope CETheLucid you are wrong. Those are clearly new faces and hairstyles nothing in-game comes close to it. Considering how Anet makes these “artworks” (just put a filter over game shot) these features are unique and not found in the current options we have.
Oh and yeah probably for the Chinese release.
I never liked the old one and I’m glad they changed it. Now it actually looks like she puts some effort into running. Oh and stop assuming people who like the new one are new or don’t play human female. I noticed it the moment it changed and I was happy with it. I also didn’t see anyone complain about it ingame. This feels like loud minority case.
Yep: From goddess to prostitute in 300-some megabytes… There is no comparison, and waiting 2 months on THIS while the art department worked on new weapon skins and we were promised by forum mods in posts that no longer seem to exist that it would be on par and that “we might like it” is just low…
Funny how it actually looks better. That dye job is very unflattering though.
I don’t understand why designers seem to hate variety so much. Some insight from Anet would be helpful for us to understand why after all this time there are still only long coats available for medium armor users.
Hopefully we can now move on with original and high quality armor releases~
