Your friend can contact Customer Support by sending an email to support@guildwars2.com

Support closes down accounts that they suspect have been compromised, protecting as much of the account as they can.

I am sure Support will assist your friend in securing control of his account once he contacts them. Also, the best place for these kind of posts is Account Issues in the Support forum. Good luck. =)

Thank you. I will tell him. c:

Arenanet dun goof.

My friends account has got banned for botting, but he hasn’t even played the game in months. He also can’t form a complaint/contact support due to the disable on his account.

He checked his IP logs and it shows 2 ips that are not his, and he tried going to the support site but his account is disable.

I have picture proof his ip histroy as well. I’ll upload that.

Why the hell doesn’t Arenanet check IPs before they ban?!

I don’t mind it if a studio decides to do something and references to other games after they first brainstorm their own ways of doing something… but the kitten this game did it, how can we do it better" is kittening kitten and anyone that thinks that way should be burned at the stake…

Come up with your own ideas first, then see if others have done it and make sure to not repeat their mistakes; not the kitten other way around.

Let me re-write what I was trying to say.

First of all. We’re in a generation where nothing is really new anymore, and new ideas are becoming less, and less.

Do you think GW2 was the first game to have DE events? Well it’s not.
GW2 has plenty of things stolen from other games, and just re-did them, and most of the time made them worse. (Dungeons, PVE, Creature AI, even now the PVP system since they stated they aren’t going to change it.)

GW2 is a good WoW clone as it is, (And WoW is a good Everquest clone) and it really doesn’t have anything new to it to begin with. Dodge mechanics? Rofl! Dodge mechanics have been in games for a long time.

“Come up with your own ideas first, then see if others have done it and make sure to not repeat their mistakes; not the kitten other way around.”

You’re still taking the business model that I said. If you come up with an idea on your own, and if some one else did it, and failed. Then don’t repeat the same mistakes.

You’re still doing what you said you hated.

in 1990, the guys with ideas (nerds) ascended in prominence and for the first time in hundreds of years, many corporations became meritocratic.

Entertainment became freaking amazing, almost everything to hit consumer eyes between 1994 and 2001 had depth unseen from the time of electronics to that point, and unseen since that time.

Then there was a massive cultural backlash followed by unmitigated greed.

The writer geeks responsible for the amazing plots went on strike from not being paid their “work for hire” pittance of a couple hundred k (while the execs made millions in percent royalties), and then were all summarily fired and replaced with idiots who pushed what we have now.

Anything decent in the video space (be it movies, tv shows, or video games), gets gutted and handed to us half-baked.

If you want anything good, you’ll have to reach to british or japanese shores. I hear they still do decent titles, but definitely not in the MMO segment. You’ll want offline or single player.

Then you have our generation, which has amazing creative capacity and 50% unemployment.

if you skim the profession sub-forums, you will find at least 20% of the suggestion or brainstorming posts provide better, more balanced, more targeted decisions than ANet’s team. Good luck getting them to step off their podium to admit it through, and good luck getting hired, because creative people “rock the boat” too much!

I can step off my podium to admit that. A lot of people on these forums have way better solutions, and better ideas than what Arenanet has been pulling lately.
How long has the community been crying for a different PVP style match, and they flat out gave us the middle finger about it? Heh.

But even STILL the people who are suggesting some of stuff has been done in other games.

As for japanese titles, and such. Really? Then I wish I could understand their language more. I really enjoyed Kingdom Hearts, but that’s the only JRPG I ever played.

@wauwi. Neverwinter nights was an MMORPG? o.o.
I thought it was just a rpg.. I own it, and I usually play offline.

@Dee Jay.
Well I am not talking about raids, but I am just generally talking about anything about other games. I just think because another game may it be WoW, Everquest, Runescape, Whatever. That doesn’t mean Arenanet can’t do it to, and make it better.

“When discussing raids, since I assume that’s what this is about, many people are simply unable to separate their WoW experiences from the actual issue.

Only because WoW raids involved stuff like gear-treadmill, progression, raid-schedule, attendance, performance etc. doesn’t mean Guild Wars 2 raids have to."

This is extremely good point!
And.. once again though. GW2 is like WoW, because you grind their dungeons for tokens to buy gear. WOO! It’s so different from WoW though!

I will say that Dungeons in this game doesn’t take you long to do, and doesn’t take long to get tokens, but it’s still the same concept. You’re still grinding a content over, and over to get tokens to buy gear. Thought it does take a lot less time.

Or maybe, just maybe, instead of asking (or demanding) that the developers use valuable time and manpower to introduce things from other games, like big dungeons and mini pet battles, you could, I don’t know, just go play one of the dozens of MMOs that already have those things.

I big part of what attracts so many people to this game is its relatively unique commitment to avoiding restrictive content like 8-12 man dungeons. Even if a person can just “choose not to do the dungeons,” they still take valuable development resources to design, create, and implement that could be better spent on content that’s in line with the game’s original vision and selling points.

Well I am not demanding anything.. Lol.
I’m just saying I think people are over zealous with the “WoW clone” word.
I agree with you, they need to work on the original vision, and selling points of them, but this is strictly talking about down the road, and months/years later.

I understand what your saying, i just disagree with it, many many players played the Guildwars franchise because it wasn’t like WoW and they found it fun.

So with Guildwars 2 its become a WoW clone, those very same people are angry and disappointed.

:b thanks for your feedback, but GW2 and still very similar to WoW as it is even if you don’t see it.

I don’t see how adding a few mechanics to GW2 from WoW makes it a “WoW clone” I honestly think people are over-zealous with this phase, and do it to Everyone single topic

How is adding bigger party dungeons make it a WoW clone? Gw1 had bigger parties for certain dungeons.

How is adding a dual spec system to GW2 make it a WoW clone?

And countless other things.

I don’t agree with mounts though. o.e Guild wars should never have mounts.

Whatever 90% of WoW is cloned from other games it is what the MMO market is good at. The ONLY thing Wow had going for it in my opinion was end game raiding as no other game prior or past has had that level of end game content.

But again 90% of everything in that game has been copied from other games especially the EQ series, DAOC, UO, and others who all were out before it.

I agree. WoW was a clone of the EQ series big time, and I think people forget that games are built at looking from other games. I hardly know any games that are truly unique, and different. There’s a few I have on Steam, and played on the consoles.

I kinda laugh at how people make fun of the pet battles in WoW, and I think it was a great idea. It actually gave a reason to collect minis, and make them useful than just another silly add on.

That could also work in this game, and will make MINIS meaningful.
But NO, BAD I DESERVED TO BE FLOGGED! I talked about WoW!

I bet 10 gold that some people are going to read the title, and that’s it.

Can we stop dropping the WoW clone on every single idea that’s close related to WoW?
Just because another game has done something doesn’t mean GW2 can’t do it.

The business model should be. “What have they done in the past, and how can I do it better.”

Not. “They did it, never speak about it!”

WoW was the best MMORPG for a long, long time for a reason. They had great ideas, and sadly it seems like Blizzard is killing WoW in favor of their new game Titan.

There’s a plenty of aspects from WoW that could be used in this game to improve it, but community is backlashing the smallest idea even though it could improve the game massively.

And honestly.. WoW and GW2 are very similar in a lot of ways, and it’s time to admit this.

So can we please drop the WoW Clone saying, and start saying.

“How could Arenanet do what WoW did, but BETTER.”

Some of the ignorant behavior on this forum is insanely disheartening.

We can’t have 8-12 man dungeons?
Guild Wars 1 did.

And here’s a few things to think about it.
If GW2 is so different from WoW.
Why is there 5 man dungeons? They’re not different from the 5 man dungeons in WoW. In fact they are worse. (Unless it’s fractals. They totally did that right in my eyes)

Take out the dodge gimmick, and what’s the real difference between WoW combat, and GW2 combat?

I would view this a problem, and shouldn’t take more than 1 dev to make this happen.

People should always have a dual spec option, and sucks wasting gold, because you want to do switch from support/dps role.

Always Underleveled (Not enough xp gain)

I’m working on leveling an alt. I completed 3 starter (level 1-15) areas without skipping past mobs/events/nodes/etc and got to level 20 by doing so. I’ll probably be level 26 by the time I finish two 15-25 maps, when I can get the next masterwork armor, which will help me into the higher level areas. So far that’s taken me 9 hours only, because I knew where to go and what to do.

That’s the hardest part of PVE leveling – getting to that point.

XP/Kill is much less in starter areas because there are more people killing things generally. The longer a mob lives, the higher the bonus xp, up to 2.5x bonus. So you’ll get faster xp via PVE in the level 25+ maps.

This is actually my 5th level 80 once I’m done. My plan was to get to 26 through the method I’ve done, get my level 26 masterwork armor/weapons, and into the next tier map(s). If I end up underleveled, I’ll master a craft.

That’s what I’ve done in the past. Mastered one craft at about level 30, and another around level 60-65.

The previous character I got to 80 I mastered 2 crafts with and did the rest through map completions. It took me a total of 46 hours according to /age to reach 80 that way. Playing 2 hours per day during the week, and 8 per day on weekends, that would be about 2 weeks to get a level 80 – longer of course if you’re new to maps or don’t have resources to master crafts. Regardless I think that’s a pretty short amount of time to get to max level compared to a lot of other MMOs I’ve played.

The biggest key I think is killing things people usually ignore and run past, for the bonus xp since those mobs have probably been alive longer – and events of course. XP/time for events is quite good.

If you don’t want to do multiple starting areas because you’d rather experience them later, you’ll run into the same problem. But you can do that just by event hopping and killing mostly creatures that will likely give bonus xp on a map you’ve already completed.

Are you suggesting killing mobs to get XP?
Lol. Even with the bonus you still have to sit there, and kill dozens.
What a silly idea.

And why does everyone need to bring up crafting?
Crafting is down right pointless in this game, and it’s not fun at all.
I make more money by selling mats, and buying my items than I do by crafting.
Lol, how pathetic an entire game mechanic that’s useless. It’s like diablo 3 all over.

I know people will say.. “BUT YOU CAN MAKE YOUR ARMOR FOR FREE!”
Yeah, but the time, and effort to gather materials vs selling them on the AH.

The amount of liars, and fanboys here is insane.
First I would like to point out that the people who say they’re are leaving zones 10 levels higher are completely full of crap. Either you’re abusing some type of system, or buying gems to buy crafting mats to level, even if then. You only get 10-15 levels at 400.

Second did anyone bother reading the whole thread before typing, or are you people really that ignorant? All of you fanboys are saying he’s leveling wrong, but he’s doing everything you are suggesting.

I came across this problem as well, and I made several human characters, and I always end up at 12-14 level at Queensdale All of them after exploring the map, mining nodes, and all the other stuff. I think the problem is they haven’t balanced out the XP, because everything gives you xp, and they expect you to do everything. Well maybe I don’t want to do everything? Maybe I want to save the cities last to explore, maybe I don’t want to crafting until I build up enough materials? Maybe the DE don’t spawn often enough for me to do them?

Going through queensdale I maybe do 2-3 DE per character. I don’t skip content, I don’t just bee line through the hearts. I only done the big shadow demon the swamp ONCE, and only did the champion oakheart ONCE. This is wrong out of 1-4 characters I only did those DE once. That’s sad.

I shouldn’t have to back track into other lower level areas just to catch up to move on the appropriate level. I don’t want to explore the Norn starting area. I want to save that for my Norn, not my human.

The major problems with this game is that DE don’t spawn often enough for some players, or they’re not next to them, because they’re on the other side of the map. This idea of everything you do gets you XP is a terrible one, because then players/Anet will expect you to DO EVERYTHING. This isn’t okay with me, because I don’t enjoy crafting I think it’s pointless. So there’s a big chunk of experience I am missing right there. The XP in this game is insanely inbalance, and requires you to do every little thing. This a wrong way to design a game.

Free for all death match, and team based death matches will just work well in GW2.

Make alt, have run to ori node, mine ori, delete alt, repeat…..

Sounds like an exploit.

Why does everything in this game that makes you money need to be an exploit?
Drops are crap already, and don’t tell me they aren’t, because out of all the hours I played I may have gotten 4-5 rares, and i’ve been playing since launch, and the only time I ever got an exotic was doing the Lost Shores event. That’s pretty pathetic.

This isn’t an exploit, and stop saying it is. If I have 3 alts, and they all had armor smithing. or weapon smthing, and I need all that ore. Should I be ban, because I needed ore for all my alts?
No. I shouldn’t.

People need ways to make money, and everyone can do this if they wanted to.
Stop banning every single way to make money in this game.
If they started to ban alts from crafting the same ore is the day I quit the game. It’s the only way I can make money right now.

This isn’t a bug, and it’s not a glitch. People need to be able to mine ore on alts if it’s to make gold, or use those materials.

If you have to ask yourself if you should be doing it, I would say you are better off not doing it.

That sounds like something that could get you banned, especially considering that ppl got banned for using salvage kits as intended.

What? This is complete bull crap. People get banned for the stupidest things lately, and I even heard stories from players who got banned for doing nothing wrong, and had proof that they weren’t. Yeah, they got their accounts back for submitting a ticket, but why were they banned in the first place?

This is the type of behavior that needs to be stop not encourage. I shouldn’t log on to Guild Wars 2 just to play, and fear being banned, because I might do something illegal. Since the poor, and lack of communication on Arenanet part on things.

Example: Players asked if the snow flake bug was intended. They never got answered, and Arenanet didn’t give us a warning. It was just. “BAN, LOL, BAN, LOL.”, but luckily it was only the worse 200 offenders. Even still this type of Fear they are instilling into their players is bad.

I see no reason why this Player can’t go mine Ori at level 2 if he has the means to do so. That’s his choice, and that’s how he wants to play his game.
Besides there’s no difference between 1, and 80 besides 1, and 0s. There’s no reason why he needs to wait to mine it if he wants to make money, or craft.

Anyways. that’s my thought.

I would like to see a lot more weapon skins in this game, and a lot more skins at lower levels.

I have a few suggestions to make weapon skins easier to obtain.

I would like to see weapon/armor skins added to jump puzzles instead of just random generated loot. I avoid most jumping puzzles, because the reward just isn’t good enough. I would like to see them add skins to the puzzles, and maybe the skins could reflect the theme of the puzzle challenge.

Another thing. There a plenty of amazing artists out there that play this game, and who can draw up really amazing armor. I would like to see contests every couple of months, or something. Maybe every 6 months? The contest will be the community drawing out armor designs, and weapon skins, and let’s say the top 5-10 players will get their weapon/armor model put into the game as a random drop.

For people who win the contest they get their armor for via mail.

Why not make more dungeons and like raids or sort of?

in Suggestions

Posted by: Strikerjolt.5910

Strikerjolt.5910

Raids aren’t good for this game for several reasons:

A. It promotes class composition, forcing friends and guilds to abandon certain people because they weren’t a guardian, for example.

B. The graphics of the game is higher than the normal standard and with the amount of combat there is in the game with having to dodge and everything, would be a FPS nigmare.

C. This game is intended to be a bridge between casual and hardcore. I am a casual myself for example, playing about 2 hours a day. When you implement raids, they generally take HOURS to complete. Not only that, you have to schedule several players and HOPE they show up on time.

D. It indirectly destroy small guilds, because no one will even attempt to wait out until the guild gets slightly larger before raiding. Currently, small guilds like mine can progress. My guild for example has 8 members and we are at LvL 20 FOTM.

Not to mention the 5 man content is difficult in itself, I don’t see a reason what makes a difference.

I don’t know where you’re getting the graphic issue from, and honestly I don’t care.

Because if they put on 1000 mobs on screen at the same time all doing different things shouldn’t effect performance issues if your pc can handle it.
This game just has poor performance issues to begin with.
I’m running two 580gtx, i7 core, and 16 gigs of ram, but during the winter day in lions arch I was getting 13 fps..

Really?

The people who shout. “You’re not suppose to have 60fps with 80 people on screen” are talking right out of there kitten. The amount of mobs/graphics shouldn’t effect the performance if you exceed the proper requirements.

What effects performance is poorly codding, and a badly made engine.

Doubt that’s ever going to happen in GW2, and for good reason.
As long as trading something takes a bit of effort, there’ll be less trades going on and “suspicious” ones (eg gold from goldsellers and such) are easier to track.

I think. There might be other reasons though.

So.. Arenanet can watch our inbox, but they can’t watch our trade windows?

It’s a video game, not life. You can always, always make your money back by doing a few hours of farming mats, DE, Dungeons, etc.

Boons tied to healing to something else?

Boons tied to healing abilities and dodges unless they do something like improve what they do (Grant Regeneration when they heal.), (Grant Vigor when you dodge.) should be changed, because it does not benefit you.

For example:

GRANTS SWIFTNESS when you heal!

This almost makes healing worthless, because now you need to pretty much waste your “6” ability when you should be using it when you need it, not using it for a buff you need, this is totally stupid when other classes have things like “Gain Swiftness when you critical.” which can be used at almost any time.

GRANTS Vigor when you heal!

This is kind of “What?” because you need vigor when you dodge, not when you heal, when you heal your endurance could be full.

Honestly, traits like this should be changed to:

Grants Regeneration when you heal.
Grants Vigor when you roll.
Grants Swiftness when you critically hit.

This makes it its intended roll, and makes it a lot funner of a trait, because your benefitting from it.

I totally agree with this. Why am I getting Regen when I active swiftness?
I can see it as a escape mechanic though.

GW2 is too happy & bright. Make it darker.

Have you seen the Scar? It’s a pretty depressing to look at, and knowing that the land may never heal.

I will admit that the tone is a little off, but it’s hard to place a dark tone without over-doing it, and without under-doing it. I would hate this game if it was nothing but dark gritty edgyness like most Modern FPS. (Or the new Devil May Cry game aka Edgy May Cry.)

I would like to see more areas actually being effected by the dragons in later expansions. I can understand Zhaitan, because he never stepped foot out of Orr he only sent his armies to the mainland, but with other dragons. I would like them to have an effect on the world when they wake up.

Thank you.

Although I really like all the stuff they have planned for Jan/Feb/March, I really can’t wait to see what will be in the next real Expansion.

Cheers.

I honestly do not care about seeing an Expansion already. They game hasn’t even been out for 6 months, and they’re already releasing, and or planning on an Expansion?

That’s like getting DLC that was already on the disk, but you would have to pay to unlock it.

I rather much see them work on the original game for at least at year , and have PTR servers before they talk about expansions. If they work on the original Guild Wars 2, and listen to the community wants, and needs. It will improve content for Expansion, because then the Dev know what the players want.

The game seriously needs to be looked at and finished off, so I welcome this news. It just wasn’t ready for release, but it was pushed out anyway (despite many known issues from beta still being present) and since then we have had Halloween and Christmas as well as a content patch, but only the more serious bugs/exploits have been corrected.

The game is suffering from lack of maintenance to correct the bugs and QoL issues (such as respawn rate) that are dragging it down, I just hope these issues are going to be the priority for the incoming patch.

And then there is the underwater combat, and the underwater skills synergy with the Traits (ie why does my Auramancer have no underwater Aura etc). Maybe we should have a separate trait setup for underwater combat, as we do with utility skills? There is still much to do to get the existing content to a high standard. With Easter being the next major holiday, they have time to get the game to the standard it should have been at for launch.

Your idea for underwater skills, that would mean double, or more skills to unlock. If this was made I would like to see two trait points per skill challenge, and 2 trait points at level 5. This will keep it even out, because 1-80 leveling I barely had to go underwater for any hearts/DE only a few.

Thank you.

Agreed, TS.

The open-world content that’s already in place is great – so great I’m really enjoying just alting without doing instances, but especially the DE’s that are already in place feel too small in scope and too repetitive, like placeholders. Vastly increasing the number, scope and depth of the DE’s in the world is going to lift this game from excellent to peerless, IMO.

I’d like to see the individual DE’s turned into zone-wide campaigns, and the way those events play out scripted out over a period of a week to a month rather than a couple hours. If they program it right they can alter the flow of these campaigns to make them feel unique with the flip of a few variables.

It would create a world in which the dynamic events never felt the same twice.

I would love to see more in-depth content like this as well. This is a brilliant idea.

They should also get rid of the majority of escort quests. ._. They’re not fun!

Thank you.

No extra content? Wow, well I guess what they said about an expansions worth of stuff being added soon was a lie?

“In saying this will be an expansions worth of stuff in these releases, we’re talking about the number of new features that will be rolled out across PvE, WvW, and PvP in early 2013, which usually you’d only find in an expansion for a traditional MMORPG.””

Did you read the whole post?

He means… “No new content” equals old content revamped & maybe some of the newer items added to it.. ie. more FotM kitten.

I honestly hope they add in a dueling option, and a free for all type spvp, and 2 vs 2, and stuff like that.

I agree completely.

Whoever in ANet HQ understood that we have enough world space but not enough world depth has my full gratitude.
There is no need for new maps that everyone will ignore, we need a reason to visit the current world, more depth to it, more world bosses on every map, etc.

I totally agree.
I’m gonna bring up an old game here, but Runescape made the mistake of never, ever fixing their old content that desperately needed to be fix. This made the community even more mad, because back when I still played magic was seriously broken, and pvp combat was also broken. They never fixed it. They kept pumping out new content.

So fixing the old content can benefit the entire game.

Thank you.

No extra content? Wow, well I guess what they said about an expansions worth of stuff being added soon was a lie?

Just, because there isn’t really new content into the game, doesn’t mean it’s not an expansion.

They’re re-designing several of the games original features to work better, and function correctly. This is way more important then continually adding in new content, and never fixing the old. So just, because they’re not releasing new areas, and classes. That doesn’t mean they’re not changing the core game. He’s saying they’re changing that the original game is hopefully going to be improved, and have a better experience.

That’s what I got from his comment.

I just want to thank Colin Johanson. for saying this statement.

“. Also, there will be no new race, profession, or new region with these larger Feb/March releases. One of our major goals with these releases is making our existing world as strong as possible, ensuring there are reasons to go to all the locations in the world we’ve already built, and strengthening the core game we’ve provided. In saying this will be an expansions worth of stuff in these releases, we’re talking about the number of new features that will be rolled out across PvE, WvW, and PvP in early 2013, which usually you’d only find in an expansion for a traditional MMORPG.”

I am so glad that you guys are fixing the game instead of just adding in new content to the world. I rather sit through entire year of huge updates improving the original game then sit through a year of new content just being added to the game, and never addressing things that will continue to be a problem. I’ve seen many games ignore their “old” content in favor for newer content. I know people will be out raged that these two big updates don’t bring any new dungeons/race/class/etc, but honestly fixing the original content makes for a better game in the long run. Yes you have to wait awhile longer for new content, but strengthening the original game can strengthen the new content.

I rather see Public Test Realms be in place before any new content gets created anyways. This way the Community gets a say in what, and what isn’t in Guild Wars 2. This will also help patch out the bugs quicker, and help balancing classes a lot easier.

So Colin (Or any other devs) please make PTRs a reality to help strengthen the content of the game!

I assumed they would use their scaling system to do lots of cool things like 10-20 player ‘raids’ where you can play with however many people you’ve got. But even just simple things like the appalling party UI means anything like that is a pipe dream.

xD Like I said I think 20 man dungeons are too much. If they wanted to make it large.. I wouldn’t go larger than at least 12.. if they really wanna push it then 15.

Yeah, 20 man dungeons aren’t dungeons. They’re raids.

Yeah, once you go too big they start turning into raids.

I don’t mind having the player party system increased, but not by that much.

When you enter a dungeon, it says “recommended players: 5” on the confirmation screen. This might hint that there will be dungeons for other player counts down the road.

xD Don’t get my hopes up.

I really hope they don’t go past 8 players though. :/

we need dungeons fixed, not made biger

I see what you’re saying, and you’re correct, and which I said they need to redesign the old dungeons.

The difference having 12 people in a dungeon can add more mechanics to said dungeon though.

WoW has class roles, Guild Wars 2 does not. Every class can fulfil every role, meaning every dungeon is a free for all.

An LFG would be nice, but it would be complex, as you might end up with 5 ele’s not switching from fire every run :P

In the meantime, there is the excellent LFG app.

Which I think it’s sad that LFG app isn’t already in the game..
It’s sad when a third party needs to pull the weight of a company..

I miss 8/12 man parties. Perhaps some large scale dungeons and missions (like Urgoz and Deep back in GW1) should be added to liven things up a bit. Adding a few more people into the party may help with the current dungeons and their difficulty. 5 mans are so WoW.

Yeah, I don’t understand why people think that a 5 man dungeon is different from a 5 man dungeon in World of Warcraft.

Meh, they don’t even need to make new classes, just put up a “costume” or a special weapon set at the start of an instance that has some leet heals skillset and voila, instant healer for whomever wants to heal.

Smart idea! xD I like it.

But I don’t want a dedicate healing class. This game doesn’t need on, but I would like a class that focuses on buffing/healing the party as their role, but not so much that it changes dungeons.

Domain of anguish , Underworld , Fissure of woe , was all Amazing 8 man content from GW1 . Im not sure this games mechanics suit 8 man content sadly , not enough healing or tanking

I think if they added a focus healing class. (Before people rage over my response notice how I said focus, not dedicated. There’s a difference) It would be okay.

By by “focus” I mean a Class that focuses on healing abilities more than others, but isn’t a dedicated healer. I think have plenty of skills for this to happen so it’s not needed for content, but still useful, but sadly this player base is so Anti-changes to their wonderful game it will never happen.

I would like them to re-make the necromancer, and have have focus on strictly de-buffing an enemy, and having a class that does the exact opposition, and buffs the party type of situation. This way it’s not really a Healer, but a buffer.

I know there’s plenty of support roles out there, but having a class that focus all on support, and having a class that focus all on de-buffing. I think it will better.

But sadly not, because the whole idea can “do a bit of everything” ruins define rules, and specialties.

Although I agree the older dungeons aren’t that much fun, turning them into raids is not the answer. Many if us left wow because of how much raids were work instead of fun.

If you miss them/want them so much, panda land is that way —->

Wake up call.
Dungeons are raids; just in a smaller group.
If think they’re different then you’re just fooling yourself.
Dungeons have every single expect as a WoW raid, but less people.

Please besides the number of 5, and 40.
Name 10 reasons how Dungeons, and Raids are different.

I am not saying we should have 20+ man dungeon content. This isn’t WoW.

What I am trying to say is if they made the party a little larger up to at least 8 it could bring in more, and new mechanics.

Strikerjolt.5910

EDIT: Don’t tell me “This isn’t WoW” argument, because WoW has 5 man Dungeons that play just like Guild Wars 2. Get over it.

Here’s why we need larger party sizes in Dungeons. It will bring in new mechanics, and new challenges. I am not talking about 25 man dungeons. Those are too large to handle, and make appropriate content.

We need Dungeon content for 8, and 12 man parties.
We need at least an 8 man Dungeon system.

Here’s why.
It can open up new tactics, and challenges. The Devs can make Dungeon that require to split up in certain sections, and do various things in 4 man teams.
This can work for getting past traps, fighting bosses, and or defending an area.

Making party Dungeons at least 8, and maybe 12 man will open up more ways to challenge the players by adding in more mechanics that require to separate groups to do separate things. I know they already do this to some degree like in CoF explorer mode 1 where they have you stand, and defend while someone opens the gate.

Also Dungeons in Guild Wars 2 are horrible compared to fractals dungeons. I think they should be redesign from the ground up, and put in new mechanics instead of having mobs that are just meat sacks of giant health pools, and hits like a train doesn’t make the content fun.

To be honestly Fractals was the most fun I had in Dungeons, because of all the different mechanics. The blizzard dungeon where it’s dark, and if you don’t have a torch you will freeze to death. The giant one where you have to carry a hammer that drains your health, and then dodge air waves that pushed you off the edge.

These are better dungeons, and to me a lot more fun. If more Dungeons outside of fractals were created like this. I think people would be less bored with the dungeons.

Instead of the health pools, and fright trains hitting mobs. < Not fun, stupid.

I understand that people don’t want this to be like WoW, but WoW is successful for a reason people, and there’s not shame in taking tips/inspiration from it. A good company will look at other things, and say. “How can we do that, but better?”. Not. “We can never do this, because that company does it.”

I don’t think we need 25/40 man dungeons, but we do need to make the dungeon party larger.

I would like to see 6/8/10/12 man dungeons to be put into the game at least for the sake have having different mechanics, and different challenges. You limit a lot of choices sometimes by keeping things too small. I only pick even numbers, because this way things can be split up as part of the dungeon evenly.

Your thoughts?

Guilds are fine, but besides the people on teamspeak, I don’t talk to all 200+ members of our guild. I only run dungeons/wvw with about 8 of them, and I may only talk to 15-30 members of my guild, because I don’t like keeping up with the chat log while I am playing.

I suggest adding more features that tighten the community, and encourages parties, and friendly behavior.

Right now in my game play experience I only see parties formed for WvW/Spvp/ and Dungeons. The problem is that you don’t need to be in a party for other people to buff you, and or help you. Which I totally agree with this, and makes the entire game feel like one big party, and everyone is invited.

But it really doesn’t encourage being social, and talkative. It just creates big zergs of people at a DE which is also fine.

But I like to see more in-depth social mechanics that really encourages us to buddy, buddy with a few members, or just one person.

I suggest adding bonuses while partying together. Karma, Gold, Magic Find, etc bonuses. If people don’t want another addition to farming. Then add an over all stat bonus.

The Karma, Gold, and Magic find bonuses can raise by 2-3% for each party member in your party for total of 9-15% percent.

Or

They can add to your toughness, healing, vitality, power, etc by 5-10 points.
Up to a total of 25-50 points.

The stat point system could scale along with your level to remain useful at higher levels, but I don’t want this idea to be game breaking.

This will hopefully encourage players to seek out other people during PvE for doing hearts, and exploring the map, and hopefully have a more social experience.

They can also add in a Marriage mechanic for role-players, or for people who are best friends. Being married to someone gives you a bonus to either Stats, or Karma, Gold, and Magic Find, or both. This works only when you’re together in the same zone.
And you can only be married to one person per character.

This will give more benefit to actually socializing with someone, and having a good time together.

I feel like MMORPGs don’t do enough to make people work together out side their guilds/dungeon content, and DE are just big zerg fests. This option will give people who don’t want to belong to Guilds, get bonuses with their friends without belong to a Guild. This will also help provide bonuses to a world that is doing poorly in WvW.
