I would really like to be able to toggle the tooltips off also.

Mini Alphie and Betie, the water and pack dolyaks from the event in Verdant Brink! I love them. I want small versions of them always.

I have a guild I made for myself ages ago just to have the silly guild name tag, I got a guild bank by myself with that very easily. Then they made all these changes.

Now me and my friend have been trying to start up an actual guild of our own that we wanted to use to recruit and help new players, and us and a few friends still havn’t been able to get a guild bank yet. And we got a bunch of guild upgrades that provide boosts that we thought would be really nice to give to new players, but they are locked to only HoT owners apparently… so, bummer. Bleh.

I only play one character but I have 4, I won’t lie, I made the others just because I had ideas for cool armor and character designs that I just wanted to exist… lol
I’ve been working on getting certain armor sets to finish the look for my last two characters, I’ll have to put together some kinda image to show them all off when I am done all of them.

From day 1 of raids most of the groups I was in were just elitist and very rude and terrible.
I get wanting experienced people, and advertising looking for people you aren’t going to have to teach the raid to if you don’t want to do that. That’s fine.

But the raids brought out a lot of terrible people in the community and remind me of the hate filled gross encounters I had with people trying to raid in other games like WoW.

I really want to do the raids some day but not with people who are going to scream at me that I suck and I should kill myself just because I make a tiny mistake.

I’ve never liked any of the skins with any of my characters well enough to go through the effort of making one.

This is good, I can see some interesting positive impact from such a “small” change as automating warning messages within 10 minutes after a report.

I personally don’t feel GW2 has this kind of issue though. If we’re going to compare, by personal experience, LoL’s community toxicity versus GW2’s is, well, non comparable. In the last year or so I don’t recall any need to report a player(other than gold sellers etc). Of course, just because I don’t get it doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen at all, but GW2’s community is far more enjoyable, and perhaps not needing such a strict measure.

Out of curiosity though, what do you perceive as “disruptive players in GW2”

Try playing a couple of games of ranked PvP.

I assure you, I have. The worst it’s come to for me is lack of communication and people not listening(which really gets to me) . In which case, I immediately stop playing and call in some friends to make a team.
But as far as toxicity, yet to see a bad case.

You are VERY lucky if you’ve never been harassed in pvp, I’ve seen people tell other people they should commit suicide and other really really terrible things…I don’t even play as online most of the time so no 1 can whisper me with nonsense.

I won’t play PvP in this game because I just got so sick of the toxic people.

Lose a game? Get screamed at by people who tell me to kill myself.

Win a game? Get screamed at by people who tell me to kill myself.

So I just stopped PvPing.

Please I’d really like these as outfits. I was really bummed when they were added in as the tonics which I still see as stupid and pointless.

I’ve never had any issues with FTP players in GW2….? I don’t think there are a whole lot of ‘young kids’ who play this game. I’m sure there are some. But it seems to be a mostly older teenager-adult community? Only time I run in to immature people is PvP.

Also I’ve only been whispered by gold spammer a handful of times over the years and I just block them when I see them.

The last year that it was up (from what I remember, correct me if I’m wrong, was so long ago) they had it in April and then again in September. I’d like it to be that way again.

LS1 spoiled me with all of the content they were adding constantly and I gotta say I miss that. LS2 wasn’t as much content but I still loved having the little story updates every couple of weeks to keep me interested. I liked the HoT story well enough, but where it ends will be where LS3 picks up, and I’ve been waiting for that! I love the GW2 story.

I heard the next quarterly update is in April, I expect LS3 to start up some time after that- I would guess May.

I’d like to see more craftable armor and weapon styles in-game. Not new stats, but different styles.

I like the outfits, but I don’t always like how you can’t mis-match pieces of the outfits.

Whenever it ends up coming back, me and my friends will be happy to play it again.

I’d also be more than willing to help you with leveling masteries if you’re also on a US server like Vayne said. Feel free to add me to your friendslist in-game and if we’re ever online at the same time I can come help you level masteries to make HoT a little easier for you!

I know HoT can be pretty hard, but the maps are a lot more fun with a friend or two to help you out especially against some of the more annoying new enemies. (I’m talking about you, smokescales.)

I think this is a good idea.

I’m happy to hear you are enjoying the game, I’ve been playing for years, originally I looked at it and decided it wasn’t for me- but my brother insisted I should try it out, he even bought it for me. It started out a little slow like most MMOs, but I was enjoying the story right from the start and as I kept going, of course, things got a little more exciting in higher level maps. :P

I really prefer the open world events to the boring quest lines some other MMOs have.

That does seem pretty fishy. Hopefully it was just a staff member or something and not a hacker. ):

Me and my friends have a guild that is still small, and right now it’s pretty much just the three of us working on upgrades. We’ve knocked out the first few ourselves but I imagine it’s going to get much harder later without more people helping.

Luckily we do plan on getting some more actual members for stuff like this, so it’s not really bothering me right now.

I’d love to see the option for like… a smaller scale guild hall or something some day. For people who really just want a small guild and don’t need all of the space or the things in the giant guild halls right now. But they could still have a small customizable area for their little guild.

Bumping this… I really want to know why Anet did this and if they would ever consider changing this.

I’m getting kind of sick of seeing them everywhere. And sometimes I wish there was a way to toggle it so I didn’t have to see them on other characters. I know that doesn’t make a lot of sense but in big groups when like 50% of the people have wings it just looks really weird to me.

I’d like to see some different cosmetics in the gem store besides just wings- and gliders…

I didn’t even think about that, I have friends I’m trying to get back in to the game who purchased Base GW2 when it wasn’t F2P and they won’t be able to use the boost either then.

Ugh. This is just… why did they do this, I know it’s not a huge deal, it’s just boosts, but it’s really bumming me out.

Me and my friend upgraded the tavern to have the Guild Experience Boost because we wanted our guild to be about helping new players, so an experience boost seemed like a great idea, something new players to the game could appreciate.

Only to find out, all of our free to play friends can’t access the guild boosts, even though they can travel to the guild hall, it tells them to use the boost they need Heart of Thorns.

Why would you do this. I think this is the first time something in GW2 has actually disappointed me.

We want to help new people enjoy the game, so they will hopefully enjoy it enough to want to buy things like HoT later. This isn’t the way to do it Anet.

Zhaitan fight was just very disappointing, and to this day the instance for it is just super buggy and horrible for me. And since they nerfed it so hard they took any hint of a challenge out of it, I just…. don’t like it at all. I don’t mind -how- we kill him in the end, just, the entire set up for it could have been better. More epic, less annoying sitting around and waiting.

This happens (at least to me sometimes, I’m not sure if it displays this way to everyone) with my sylvari. In normal light my skin tone and my armor are nearly the same color and shade, and in darkness my armor shading adjusts to the light level but my skin and hair is still bright like it’s daytime sometimes… and no, I don’t mean my sylvari’s ‘glow’ either. :p It looks very odd when this happens.

I’m still pretty excited about the new maps. There’s still a lot for me to discover and do on them, and I just generally have a lot of dumb fun with my friends in PvE doing a whole lot of nothing sometimes!

I would love to see some very basic racial outfits- like really generic commoner clothes outfit. I know there was once a skin/outfit for this before the wardrobe system, but since then it’s been turned in to a really stupid and useless ‘tonic’…. I don’t get why.

A random note to those of you that missed Season 2 and may not want to buy it for the achievements/etc: If you just wanna play through the story, anyone who has the chapters unlocked can take you in to the instances with them even if you don’t have it! When I found this out I thought it was great, I had a friend who didn’t care about the achievements but missed out on the story and it was great that I could show him it.

I think if they are ever going to add a race, Tengu would be most likely. They are pretty developed lore wise, and their city is also right next to a starting area. That’s gotta count for something.

If we ever get content based around the sea dragon and they added Largos, that’d be pretty neat too actually.

The huge open world events from Season 1 were amazing, I loved them so much and I think they’re really what made me fall in love with this game. (I would love to see a better video recap of Season 1 at least in the story journal also!)

I can understand why they moved to small story instances in Season 2, it makes it so they can be replayed and they can have the chapters available in the gem store later for those who missed them… obviously they can’t bring back the big open world parts from Season 1 like that, it wouldn’t work out.

I would love to see a mix of both of those in Season 3. Give us the story instances like in Season 2, but on occasion throw in some big world event like Season 1 had that’s a lot of fun for everyone. Asking for that is… well asking for a lot, I get it, but I would love to see that if it was ever possible.

There are lots of things I like and dislike about lots of MMOs, but for whatever reason GW2 is the only one I’ve stuck with for so long.

I love it a lot, and it’s my favorite MMO ever. But I have friends who hate it- so, to each their own.

I’d like to see a big underwater map some day if we get in to some story with the deep sea dragon. I think having a big map underwater would probably require some tweaks to underwater combat and different things, but I think it could be really cool. And maybe I just really wanna see some sea dragon minions. <:)

Just an idea that popped in to my head that I’m sure a lot of other people have had, but I wouldn’t know if there’s a thread for it anywhere.

I think it would be really nice if they made armor and weapon sets based on all of the lodestone types. I think right now you can only make weapons with the one lodestone type, molten lodestone? (Correct me if I’m wrong, because I might be!)

Also I think would be a neat idea- though I’m not really sure how it could work out in crafting armor/weapons,- but… like making ones with the lodestones, themed with their style: gem themed craftable gear. Armor and weapons based on different level 80 gems. I think that could be neat.

I would like a raid section in the LFG. I’m getting tired of seeing a billion raid groups advertising in the open world LFG.

I thought it was a neat idea because I thought at first that it was a shared -bag- slot. So if I bought one and put a 20 slot bag in it, I could have that shared between my characters. (Note: I didn’t buy one I just thought this is what it was at first.)

The fact that it’s that price for a single slot is just ridiculous. I’m pretty unhappy with this and some of the other junk Anet has been throwing in the gem store lately. I love this game, it’s my favorite MMO and I like spending money in the gem store when I can, but I’m starting to feel like they are just trying to milk us for money and it’s making me sad.

I want to know why the mesmer’s Feedback skill was changed to an aoe I have to place, instead of it just auto placing on my current target… was this something people were asking for? I’m not trying to be a jerk, I just want to know. I really don’t like it. I know I can have it snap my aoe skills to my current target but that’s not the same and I don’t want all of my aoe skills to be like that anyway. I just really don’t like this change to Feedback, it bothers me a lot and I know that’s gotta sound stupid, but it does.

you can still do that

on yoour settings enable snap cast to target also enjoy the free pwnage as all your aoes will auto land on yoour targets now just be sure to deselect target whenever you wanna use a supporting skill

It still doesn’t place automatically though, it just sets the aoe on the target and then I have to click again to cast it I mean. When before, I just target an enemy → use skill → bam skill is placed right on target

It is totally worth playing without the expansion. I just played it for 3 years without HoT and while the expansion does add a lot of fun stuff and new areas, the rest of the game is still really fun and worth playing. There is plenty to do without HoT.

I apologize for being really spoiler-y to anyone who sees this post and hasn’t done LS Season 2… but my all time favorite place I’ve been in Guild Wars 2 is most certainly Glint’s Lair.

I don’t even know how long I just stood around and stared at everything. I thought I had more screenshots, but I think I have them saved elsewhere and can’t find them right now.

PS: If you missed Living Story Season 2 and aren’t sure about buying it, I’d buy it just to see this place. Because wow.

Ah. I’m sure it’ll be fixed soon then. Thanks! I was so confused by what could be causing it, I didn’t notice my friends who’s nameplates were like that were all actually wearing the outfit.

This just started happening for me recently, and seems to be happening only on large model characters (male norns, charrs).

The name/title/HP bar does not display over the character’s head, but it’s down at their feet, sometimes actually under/behind the ground or something. It’s very odd.

Is this some kind of known bug, or is this something I can fix myself somehow?

I was really worried when the game suddenly went F2P, but now I’m actually really glad it did. The flood of new people excited to try out the game has just been great. I’ve been doing all I can to help out new players in the starting areas, and giving away free dyes and just helping new players enjoy the game. So many of them love the game so far and tell me how much they love the community here compared to other MMOs. I’m happy I can be a part of that community.

And of course, it’s always nice to get compliments on the cool gear and skins you worked hard for. <:)

I think all of my suggestions for this event have been posted already here many times over, but I just wanted to say I appreciate the fact that you gave us an event, even if it didn’t go exactly as planned. I hope to see more events like this soon, with a lot of these player suggestions implemented.

I think well-planned map/world events will end up getting a lot of new players really interested in the game.

People in PvP can get very nasty.

I won a match against a guy once and he started spamming me in whispers and in-game mail telling me to kill myself until I blocked him and reported him. And I get nasty whispers all the time in PvP because I won or lost a match, or I did or didn’t do something right.

In general I think GW2 has a fantastic community, but like all games with PvP, when people get competitive they get nasty. Try not to let it get to you.

I’m not sure where to post this, so I apologize if it’s in the wrong place.

Lately all of my screenshots I take in game have been very poor quality (blurry and gross looking). Previously they were just, well, super nice looking.

Wondering what is causing this and how I can fix it.

I would love this option!

I understand that not every person is going to feel the same way about GW2, ANet, and these issues as I do, but maybe you could take your negative posts to a thread that’s not my nice simple little thank you thread. :P

I actually havn’t pre-ordered HoT yet myself (saving up first) but I just wanted to thank ANet for addressing the issues people had with the pre-order and offering the character slots and the refunds to those who want them. I see that there are already a bunch of these threads but I felt the need to post.

GW2 is my favorite MMO, and it has never disappointed me. So, just, thanks guys.
