My questions were really directed to the combo of supply master and build/repair mastery’s in respect you your results.
Did you do your tests on siege? Do you have any points in build mastery?

Blackgate has a pretty big aussie/kiwi presence guilds Merc/Noc/Res and maybe tkg not sure though.
Good work man I love supply mastery myself cheap and supper epic. Isn’t what you get refunded how much you spend ? So if you are spending more you get more back? I have been refunded 2 supply for using one before because my ticks are 2 supply. So if you put points in the build mastery you can get 10 refunded at once right?
Side note if you could check it out for me does build mastery work on supply traps?
If you people were not ignorant and played one you would know better. Do your slow butt a favor and hop into spvp/tpvp with a thief and see how you do. Because you will be smashed sooo hard you will never play the class again. I know some kitten is going to say but they have 1sec longer reveal and your right they do, but the fights are 5v5 not 20 v thief and you can see how op they really are lol.
Do us all a favor and take some screens at the end of each match so we can see your score k/d and so on…. thanks!

Since you guys were small skirmish guild it prolly wasn’t that large to start and It was most likely your program that caused them to stop playing. My guild is pvx and there are events every night with skirmish most nights after. To be fair one nights events are in other games, but lets be honest gw2 is a kittening amazing game and this is just the start.
First off anyone that plays a thief knows most of the dmg comes from out of stealth attacks sep maybe sword. The block you guys are talking about is from agis a magical invis shield that most often isn’t even cast so get over it. You were killed by a thief play better, don’t put yourself in bad positions, and play something other than bunker its fail.
I can’t believe anyone plays without dodging. On my troll thief running around wvw once I know the class and weapon set I can pretty much dodge without even looking. After the first rotation you see there timing and some skills also have audio ques.
I play troll thief right now and a can get away from almost any fight, but it comes at a cost. Not only will any good player kill me but I am lucky to get to kill anyone since my dps is so low. I have played other specs, but have the most fun trolling even though I don’t get as many kills.
Other specs played – no stealth dodger – full stealth
no stealth is the hardest to play for sure, but its kills make people feel sooo stupid and in this spec your not going to catch me if i want to get away.
full stealth is the most dangerous spec to play because one stun or one aoe on your refuge and your dead.
I don’t think you have really spent any time on a thief what you should prolly complain about is insta gib spec if they nerf stealth then you will just be killed before you even know you are in a fight. Maybe that’s the issue though did a thief make you feel dumb.
I have never played insta gib…. because I like to play with my prey.
Are you guys kidding… I guess you already forgot people flying around the maps, porting through walls, portal gunning into keeps, killing keep lords through walls, shooting arrowcarts through walls, and blinking through walls. I am sure there is more I missed just on fixes we also have traps, wvw skills, culling ajust, player cap increase, and soon some shiny new mechanics. Those talking about next rvr game your kidding right gw2 has years more dev time and tons more revenue than those flavor of the month games people talk about. Even if a game comes out with flawless almost every thing it won’t make any diff Gw2 came out at the perfect time(Tech leap) with the perfect playstyle(a game you actually play). Now I am not saying don’t leave (I would like cheaper gems) I am just saying we will see you when you get back.
edit: remembers another used down skills to get into hills, that pets/clones could climb walls and kill siege, and revived/ported people through water gate in bay.
More additions: they made siege trade able

What happened to BG’s SEA this week so far? taking the week off? I can tell by the lack of chest thumping by BG trolls.
The entire server is taking the week off. Plenty of people zerging in PvE though. People keep telling me, “next week it’ll go back to normal.” I’ve heard that three weeks running now. But Anet isn’t going to stop releasing new PvE crap to grind so Blackgate is going to have to decide what they like more: massive amounts of gold or WvW. I prefer WvW so I’m not sure how long I’m going to stay on BG because I want to play with like minded players who are passionate about WvW and absolutely bored by PvE. That used to be Blackgate, but I’m not so sure anymore…
BG has taken 1st place in T1 7 times in the past 10 weeks, including a streak of 5 in a row. I think it’s natural for a group of players to scale back from the effort required to achieve that and take part in other elements of the game, or possibly even play other games. We saw it with JQ, and we might be seeing it with BG now. Also, I personally think the culture of BG enjoys the road to winning more than winning itself. That’s just a theory of mine though and I could be wrong.
The bottom line is, winning for too long will take its toll on participation, and will often be followed by a lull period in interest and activity. The best course of action (in my opinion) is to stick it out and ride the wave from peak to trough then back to the peak again. If more players did this and had some patience I think we’d have a lot more happy gamers.
Well written I for one love killing the giants rather than being one, but with the state of the lower tiers I don’t think we will see any up and comers until a few issues are dealt with.
Map voting is a grand idea you should focus on that! change the name of the thread right meow.

Every guild doing GvGs (at least I know) , is playing WvW all the time.

If you guys did it in the EB jp it would not interfere at all. You guys all refuse for some reason and choose to effect wvw negatively.What you guys call “gvg” is a poor game mode and the reason such a small amount of players do it, but more importantly is in direct opposition of the development of GvG creating preconceived notions toward what will one day be a really good game mode in GW2. The choice you guys have given Anet isn’t a choice at all it’s no longer if something will be done, but when.
This is just the first week It will eventually show a pattern if there is one. There are multiple variables but I am confident that it will keep a strong pattern that eventually won’t be debated.

So, in regards to GvG and openfield, I don’t see a lot of “rampant speculation” going on. If nothing else, you chose your words poorly. The complaints about this new system potentially killing the GvG scene is entirely grounded.
This forum and this topic in particular are about WvW. WvW is about sieging and controlling objectives and about open field combat. All our changes are with that totality in mind and will continue to be.

Lol there may have been something lost in communication because you guys claim to be wvwers, no one should have had to explain the possible effects to you. My math is spot on if you could do it yourself you would know that. I showed the sources and methods used you might not like the answers, but they are correct. If you didn’t see red every time someone talks about “GvG” in a way you don’t like you would realize this.
If I remember right arenas were 2v2 3v3 and 5v5. I miss arena…. I know i can do it here, but it takes way more time than wow I could just grab my partner and doe see doe.

I really loved the game like 3-4 months ago. I would change a few things from that time though. I would nerf engi granades to bring necro back into the game and I would give warrior a passive root skill with a around 1min cd somewhere in one of there trait lines and move boon hate some where to make it more use able.
I think your barking up the wrong tree man have you ever done 8v8 hotjoin? You might like it. Raising the custom arena cap is a grand idea though lets get the "GvG"ers off the streets lol.
The devs said it had something to do with culling and lag.
If you go down the steps at the start and to your left there is a large square room where no one will interrupt people often hold duels there. I am sure you could have allot of fun in any number of the other areas though. Like the room just past the falling rocks or the darkroom for hard mode.
There may no longer be tiers, but there is still progression due to the rng factor It does make it harder to track though, but also can make it easier. Say a lower tier server is able to do some good recruiting and efficient play now they don’t have to work there way up over months they can win 2 weeks in a row and prolly make t1 exploding onto the scene and staying if they can win.

I have not tpvp in two month I meant. I did one match to get my rating back so i could see what it was and that was it. “GvG” has been going on much longer than the last few months lol a “friend” of mine started it when we first got the new bag drop rate to farm them.

Whoops, 49218.75 total would be more accurate. The GvG scene still makes up about 10% of that, though.
You still have to times it by two for the eu servers because the “gvg” player total is from both NA and EU.
Xenn you also have to consider that any post with “GvG” in the titles only really means anything to "GvG"ers apart from maybe this one cause it says t1 aswell. And every post someone makes against it with it in the title is shaking a bees nest so don’t get it twisted man.

Since there are 3 servers in each tier you have to multiply your totals by 3 then again by two for the eu servers. I think your estimation of the lower tiers are off considering all NA servers are all hi to full, and all EU is med to full but lets go with it just for fun. So using that estimation we have 98437.5 if we use the high end “GvG” estimation they make up 5% (5.07936508%) and on the low end 1.5% (1.42222222%) of wvw population. Which would still be less than 1% of the total population as stated.
Now if you guys look at the “GvG” rankings you can see that everyone above rank 24 NA 66 in EU has 100% loss rate most with only one match so the active “GvG” population is closer to the low end.

Lol I like this guy. The info was from the week before our loss though champ and we are smashing you guys right now.

I hold large scale wvw on par with GvG as far as combat goes and small scale to spvp. Anyone on a large server will tell you that you can do what every you want when ever you want since our pops are so high we can choose either at any time. While there are a few crazy large forces most guilds run like 20-30 guys. If you guys were on a huge zergball server /rolls eyes you would love it. I have never been in an mmo where being on a low pop server was a good thing just saying.
When it comes to the numbers it doesn’t matter I reduced the pop to 25% of sales and you guys were still under 1% even reducing that by 50% leaves your population at just over 1% so no matter how you try to swing it its not going to make the number any larger if anything the proper numbers will just reduce it even more.

Lol thats funny cause I didn’t see any real change in the notes it is all skill facts and bugs. There isn’t more classes being played just diff classes mostly necro, engi, ranger, and guard do to the extreme aoe and survival of the classes. Make sure you don’t mix up class balance (classes being played) with class balance (strength of classes).
Condi thief is hardly playable and the others apart from sword are even worse once aoe is put in check it will be diff though.

Lol if “GvG” is the only thing these guilds enjoy and would leave if they didn’t do it then why would it hurt wvw if they left. If they don’t enjoy wvw they don’t wvw so the wvw community would gain from them leaving.
No one has asked anyone to leave the problem with “gvg” is caused by the "gvg"ers if they would simply do it in the eb jumping puzzle or at the end of the week there would not be any problems with it apart from maybe the wxp/bag farming.
At some point I am sure they will add real GvG with the gw1 game mode in mind, but it isn’t going to be what you guys expect. No game mode in this game is as simplistic as what you guys do I am sure GvG will be no exception.

Since we do not have the avg wvw population for each server in 24 hour or higher time spans it is Impossible to come up with the wvw %.
My guess though is that it would not make that much of a change to the figure because of the extreme underestimation of current population that I used.
If you look at the NA servers all populations are high to very high if you look at EU the server populations are med-very high and this is off hours for NA.
Would you agree that there is most likely more than 750k players that is 25% of total copies sold rounded down to the nearest million. Lets say 50% of players wvw 375k players that comes to 1.33333333% with completely unrealistic numbers just over 1%.
