Lol I have watched GvG matches it’s a joke It was only slightly more of a joke when we still had culling issues. Yea you do have people that watch, but its because they don’t know its a joke yet its a good thing you educate them lol.

Its funny you guys talk about zergs the way you do cause we all know that 20v20 is a completely different play style from the one you’re complaining about lol.

You guys are not pvpers because 20v20 in now way is a show of skill for any individual in them and you are counter productive wvwers as you sabotage the game mode to farm bags.

Last off no one would would even care if you did it before reset, but you can’t be bothered to not kitten over your servers.

honestly most hardcore wvw guilds (like ZN the one i am in) spend every waking hour in the game WVWing. it gets boring fighting the same stuff over and over, GVG keeps guilds like mine alive, it gives us a challenge vs just blob vs blob, ninja camps and towers, and defend for no reward but feeling we did something useful the 4-12 hours we spent in wvw that night.

if there was no GVG happening in WVW there would be no few guilds left in gw2 let alone wvw. and when /if they add a GVG system (which i really hope they do because it would make setting these kitten things up so much easier)i feel WVW will be taken alot less srs and might possibly die. just my opinion as a hardcore WVWer

I am sry to hear that is the state of EU wvw, but it’s prolly the reason iron went to sor. Here on na we have amazing wvw communities that fight hard every day and night. lol about the gvg I doubt they would dumb down there own content when its a the masterpiece it is, but if they ever did I think you would find that it’s trash you talk about being tired of wvw imagine an instance where only 20 guild member could enter you would be in que for hours your two groups would smash into each other then its back to que. Imagine trying to maintain a 20 man roster have you guys even thought about these things its soo funny. After a losing streak how many players do you think you would lose? kitten think of how many guild members you would lose over it.

@ benjimen About coverage the top servers all have 24 hour coverage we each have strengths in diff time zones and for the most part very skilled commanders. Each week is a battle of who wants it more. It makes me sad that in tier 3 you don’t even try or at least that is the way you make it sound because on black gate we fought tooth and nail to rise through each tier not so long ago. Hopefully your just a bad representation of the people who put time in on your server.

Right, and I think most people would understand your point as far as WvW is concerned. However this game is seriously lacking an exclusively-deathmatch style PVP mode. GVG is the best way to have that match type, while keeping it relevant and exciting.

You have a good point man, but since the the teams are already limited to a fraction of actual guild size couldn’t this be done in 8v8 arena so it would not interrupt the play and flow of wvw?

To sykkob: Myself and hundreds of others all over the world are fighting for the same position in the rankings, and we are playing the game as intended in the world in the world that was created for us. About the hall thing there is a huge difference between not being in wvw and creating a spectacle that interrupts the flow of battle along with taking a large % of limited player slots.

This, other server has equally numbers there aswel. So numberwise everything stays fair. GvG is what kept many guilds in this game for so long. I think all the guilds should put in an effort and do it more.

WvW is casual, if you are trying to play GW2 hardcore, you are going to have a bad time.

It is a 3 way fight and even if it is = between the two of the three one always has more to lose by being idle.

lol I don’t know what you consider hard core, but some of us spend hours of our time most nights to achieve victory and you kill traders should have the consideration to not waste our efforts.

Like idiotic kill trading? I would like all the loot, but none of the strategy or effort. Lets pretend this isn’t a joke what happens when your next match up for number 1 lol is on a server you will most likely never face at your current position what your going to spend 20-40g per person to xfer? Sabotage your servers current position?

Right now we are struggling on TC map because these kids are kill trading. It effects a actual game mode negatively and needs to be put to an end. As a community have already asked them to hold their kill trading till before reset, but they have refused plz do something Anet they are risking the effort put forth by the rest of there servers.

Xsorass my exp in tpvp is minor when compared with my hundreds if not thousands of hours in wvw of my almost 3k hours played. I started the game with AA and am on black gate with most of the remaining players now but if there was one thing you would know its jack and kitten. lol

Johje are you saying that the reason some people don’t pvp is because some one kills them…. gotcha.

Its good for role playing that everyone hates thieves, but it isn’t the class skills that are the problem. If you ask any tpvp if thieves pawn them in wvw or tpvp they will say not very often though they do get the jump on me some times. They know how to handle thieves because we fight them often and we don’t freak out when we are being attacked by them because we know it takes one skill to kill them and the only thing that will get us killed is our own foolishness if we allow it too.

So in conclusion it is not the game that is the problem it is you. If the game were the issue there would be 100% agreement. I know what your thinking the people that disagree are thieves that don’t want to get nerfed… I do have a thief and I consider it the weakest of my classes, but lucky for me that I can still kill people that don’t know how to play. Lets say that they did nerf us we would still kill you because you don’t know what your doing.

I would have watched them but no one announced it in la or where ever I was. Anet should pop us an in game message when there tourney’s are starting. I am sure most people would check it out.

I am a thief and a tpvper I hold sentry points and announce when enemy forces come by and what direction they are headed…. but that is really secondary I really just do it to kill wvwers cause 95% are bad at pvp. People that know what they are doing don’t get killed by thieves at least at the moment as we are the one of the weakest classes in current play.

Today I was sitting just outside tarnish coast garrison holding the sentry and had a group of 5 sor players come to take it from me I went into stealth and ran off as thieves often do. After capping the point the five sor players went to take the camp to the north so I decided to follow them. When we got to the camp they ran strait in and as they started to attack the npcs I seized this opportunity and attacked a fellow thief that was at half health and downed him. At this point realizing a enemy thief was among them they all switched target to me. I dodge rolled around for a moment and then fled up the watch towers ramp. Once there they continued to try to shoot me but only hit the bottom of the ramp as the npcs chipped away at there health till they were all downed (ohh it was yummy). I jumped down and stomped all but the one that had agro on the quartermaster, and took this time to do some dmg to it while it killed the downed sor player. After killing the npc I sat there capping and a necro came along stop me. After a little of this and that the necro was down at my feet, but as I went for the stomp I was feared away. A second necro had come, and before I could do anything he had revived the downed player. At this moment the centaurs attacked saving my life and giving me the time to escape…. If only I would have taken the opportunity, but blinded by my rage and blood lust went at the wounded necro sadly in my haste I had missed that the players from the battle before had already set upon the camp and were so close behind me I could have felt their breath.

I was on another thread and saw a post about a players exp in wvw and decided to write my own. If anyone would like to share your stories jot them down here.

Lol talk about hopeless this blows my mind I bet every time they lose to a asura they think to them selfs i would have won if he was a norn and vice versa. What a joke if you are unhappy with your race choice re-roll. I mean the fact that this was even brought up proves your baddies.

I played wow for 8 years and re-rolled idk how many times re rolled proffs idk how many times. Fought off quad boxed shamans, farmed at least an hour a day, and faught against gnomes for years with nothing to match. People like you guys kill games and the sheep that follow you are even worse. lol over 800 tpvp matches and this has never crossed my mind.

I new al was doomed as soon as I found out supercutie was a guy.

I hate to bump this thread but I don’t understand what you are crying about there isn’t even anything specific just ragging about nothing. Are there problems with the game sure but they are not in wvw apart from maybe not being able to get a back piece with b of honor.

Sometimes when I stealth the animation doesn’t kick off I get the stealth buff but no animation. So I end up wasting other stealth cool downs when I don’t need to.

I am stealth when this happens but it makes me freak out.

When ever you have a supply surplus start building golems and sit them in your keep or spawn. Even if you don’t plan to use them that way when your done you can do one last rush or leave them there for the guys taking your place.

When ever you leave a map unattended make sure you tell people if you guys have a community ts tell some of the large guilds if you don’t tell people in lions arch include enemy army info and if the map is out manned if you are able send a guildy to say something ahead of time so they could relieve you.

Keep guildies in keeps and rotate new ones in every 15min for guard duty.

When playing ptp game you need to be host to gain something from using it. In an mmo it is used more as a def cool down or equalizer from what I have seen. Of course it could always be very timely lag on their internet’s part.

Lol you only run into that if you have very low rating I call it hot join hell I was stuck there for a day or two after learning a new class and going on a losing streak while doing so.

I am allot happier with wvw than I am spvp solo que is awesome I have been waiting for it for months too bad the balance is so funked up that I don’t even want to play.

I don’t know if ques are really a problem even on black gate there is always one borderlands open apart from reset night.

It isn’t attacking someone else network it is disconnecting your own to allow you a few seconds of undisturbed play, It is pretty obvious when people use them. You will see someone lag out then appear some where else, most often behind you at that time you take dmg from any skills cast during their disconnection because the server catches up. You see this thing all the time in games like dark souls and many other console games though this will be fixed in dark souls 2 do to a networking change.

It’s ok jq anet will take your training wheels off in a few weeks wouldn’t want you to skin your knee now would we.

You can lv in pvp kind of. You pvp make dies/make dyes/sell dyes/craft level. Gw2crafts.com tells you the exact cost per proff what to make and you gain 10 lv per craft.

Lol every class feels this way because necro and engi have such over powered aoe. The “balance” of these two classes was a complete failure at anet both at their understanding of class balance and player communication. The saddest part is that we are right at the door step of their big tourney with the worse balance and play the game has seen in spvp… it’s a shame.

It will change allot as your rise through the ranks you will have hotjoin like play at the bottom and your teams skill will rise as you rise. Then you will only have to deal with bads a low rating.

There is no point a dps necro can bunker almost as well as a bunker .

It would be awesome but then no one would pve before 80. They would target achives in pvp till 80 then move on to pve/wvw.

When you go to sleep at 9 pm so you can get up early to fight off those aussie pricks.

Nah long bow s/s is strong it just doesn’t shine because necro and engi aoe dps is over the top and it’s almost impossible to get a read on any other class because of it.

Stay out of hot join so you don’t pick up bad habits.

I been out of tpvp for a bit but before i left it was like 30% was hot join players 30+ solo que 80%+ good solo and beyond that guild groups. It also depends on how many matches you have played for these to be proper I would say 100+ matches.

I vote the top WvW Rank be Over 9000 with no info about what server you are from.

Then when you see one you will be like"What did you say his power lv was?" “over nine thousand, but there is no way it can’t.”

I think they are free to medium pop and lower severs. but if you want to be on a top wvw server without doing the work to get there you have to pay.

The best part is the way everyone uses meta is wrong, but I don’t expect these kids on the forums to understand anything lol. They see another kid use it then from then on its baa meta baa baa.

It was used properly when talking about wvw early on because at that time exploitation was the strategy for the top servers.

Now apart from the rare speed hacker every thing is legit so it’s just strategy apart from team speak, but I am sure everyone agrees that voice coms are legit even though its not included in the game world. If it was we would still be using team speak/vent/mumble anyway cause it allows us to control the environment and volume lvs. Just as in wow.

Bountiful interruption depends on very specific situations and with some of the less than obvious animations (lookin at you necros) it’s hard to know what needs interrupted. And mesmer interrupts aren’t nearly as spammable as other more powerful non-damaging->damaging conditions (terror). Mesmer has great versatility and a plethora of builds. But almost none of them are tournament viable because that plethora of builds can be done by another class better in tPvP while they bring more to the team.

See there is not one thing that mesmers can do right now that can’t be done better by another class while having better support for a team. Anet needs to do some very meaningful buffs for the mesmer in terms of damage for us to keep up with thieves and s/d eles. OR some major buffs so we can actually become meaningful bunkers.

Mesmer damage don’t need buffing. Other classes’ damage need nerfing.
