I managed to reproduce the exploit for sake of testing. Yw ANet.
Hey there guildie haha
(Daiwun/cas)
Honestly I can see them not showing them for a couple more weeks. Maybe they’re really not ready to show.
I’m with you though I really really really wanna see warrior/thief/engineer they will decide what I main. Warrior being some random awesome thing, thief possibly getting a melee staff which is my dream for gw2(a melee staff that’s not support), and a steam-punk style warrior thing. Can’t wait to see
I know what ya mean OP
This is one of the only mmos that has stayed successful
Like there’s WoW which is sitting at probly 5 million subs (its in a baaaad place right now)
Then under actually staying in the scene are GW2, That Final Fantasy MMO, and maybe ESO
Then under those i’d say tera and wildstar
WoW is such a buzzword it’s funny. It’s like the same way people all “hate” justin bieber because it’s widely accepted to do so. Pls nobody take offense just some banter
“I don’t feel like Anet is really dedicated to making sure their game continues to improve”
They’ve said they’re gonna be rolling out balance patches frequently in the coming weeks up to launch of the expansion or something like that.
“expansion” – Yes it’s an expansion even if it’s small in zones. There’s still some features being added. It’s more of a setup for making the game better overall and less of a “here take this whole new continent” expansion. I’m too tired to explain why that’s ok because I’m not even sure as I stare at the wall with one eye losing focus.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve lost interest too. I don’t play much atm but do have some hopes for the xpac
Here’s my warrior
Five months later
And then a year later
I think it would need to be different things that war doesn’t have so maybe something like. Ran out of realisticish ideas after spear
- Flame Greataxe: Slow heavy hitting style, like hundred blades damage in a 4 second high telegraphed windup
- Dual Pistols conjure: This could be a medium range kiting style kinda like a SB ranger
- Land Spear: Pull CC with moderate damage maybe
- “Insert npc name here’s” rapier: Sword conjure with 5 skills that have multiple strikes for each attack, high burst but very close range
- Past Legend Equiptment: GW1 style axe/shield combo with all axe agressive attacks or something
I agree. I’m one of those people who rarely plays (although I do have at least 2k hours now haha) There’s a ton of things I think this game needs to be better. I could be a huge critic and go off on ideas like the next guy, but honestly at the end of the day, in my opinion, there’s no mmo as polished and clean feeling as Guild Wars 2. This game will always feel like home and I have high hopes for HoT to refresh the excitement.
Awesome thread, Sororita. Looking forward to being a tanky frontliner reaper and or a simple glass cannon. This is what I came up with for a sPvP zerker reaper. http://dulfy.net/gw2traits#build=AgQBmAXoBuw~ With adept spite and master reaper being changeable/undecided
Staff: Most of the staff skins we currently possess do not look like they can double as Quarterstaves.
I’ve thought about this thinking about revnant staff. Seems a little odd fitting unless theres some spellish effects with the melee
I like it! Love the idea of taking people into the shadow realm with you for brief periods of time and all that jazz
I can see them possibly doing something like this. When two greatswords are equipt the first sigil of the first gs will be used while the second sigil of the second gs will be used. A feature that let’s you swap sigil positions will be added with the patch. Also the skills will be completely different as if wielding a brand new weapon. So say you’ve got a GS on like normal, you see the five regular skills. Equip another in the offhand slot and you get five different skills for 1-5.
Being honest it doesn’t seem very realistic for the game but who knows really? Maybe we’ll get something like this way down the line.
I thought they settled for Colinmancer
I can’t stop laughing for some reason colin jokes really get me
unrelated me and my buddy used to shout “Colin!!!” whenever we didn’t like something about the game or found a bug (back around launch)
I think it’ll be called the Asurasdonthavefivefingershunter
or realistically Banshee/Wraith
At least 50 hours in Silverwastes from a bonus chest
Meta builds are just builds that are like the top performance possible for a single character based on others. Like for example Celestial Rifle engineers probably do overall better (with some kind of percentile) than a zerker static discharge one. This does not mean that the static discharge is bad, It’s still very strong and viable in the hands of a skilled player BUT celestial engineer offers more healing/aoe damage/tankiness with similar if not at least 90% of the damage static discharge can do to a single target.
I believe meta builds are the easiest to play for the highest effect. For example, we all hate that skilled power necro in a team fight because if the team performs well we got curb stomped by 7k auto attacks from lich form. Power necro is not on the list of meta builds though but that doesn’t stop it from being effective. It would probably reach metahood if it was a tad bit tankier(easier)
I agree I hope the specializations and everything coming causes some build diversity on the meta super serious field.
I think it will be Bruiser or Brawler, and it will have daggers that are not flashy at all – just tons of fast shanking like a prison inmate.
I would love that
Here’s my idea for warrior
Warrior Specialization [Brawler]
New mechanic, [Rage]:
Gain rage from a % of damage dealt. Unleash rage to deal 25% more damage for 4 seconds when meter is full. Movement speed is increased by 25% when raging and you cannot be the victim of snares or immobilizers.
New Weapon, [Dagger Mh]
Skill 1 [Slice and Dice][Auto-attack CD] : Slice at your foe dealing moderate/low damage/Stab at your foe and gain quickness for 1 second
Skill 2: [Snap out of it][Cooldown 25 seconds] : Jab your own hand inflicting self bleeding to break out of stuns and movement impairing effects while gaining 66% of your rage meter and 2 stacks of stability
Skill 3: [Cheap Shot][Cooldown 8 seconds]: Punch your foe with your fist dealing more damage if the target is above 90% health and gain might
Elaboration:
Skill 1 – in full zerker gear would deal around 800 damage per slice as crits BUT you would have permanent quickness autoattacking
Skill 2 – Nifty stun breaker that adds a powerful self bleed for balancing (2500 damage over 4 seconds or so)
Skill 3 – A fight starter that would be moderately telegraphed and high priority for avoiding, dealing 5k in pvp from one zerker to another.
A fun combo would be offhand mace/shield
Tremor – Cheapshot
Shield Bash – Cheap Shot
(edited by Tiger.9786)
Here are my theories
Warrior – Paragon (remember paragons we’re more similar to warriors than they would be to guardians with shouts and adrenaline) : Land spear
Group buffs and it being viable to stay ranged as “warrior”
Guardian – Monk: Longbow
Either aoe ranged CC with support capabilities or enough fire condi for guards to viably go rabid amulet
Elementalist – Battlemage: Mainhand sword or axe
Actual physical melee attacks maybe some blocks and pulls/pushes
Engineer – Forgeman(idk a good name for that): Hammer
Think guardian hammer number 2 skill combined with warrior greatsword movement
Thief – Assassin or Agent: Rifle
medium to long range power shots, id like to think the hard hitting skill takes time to charge so it will be dodgeable and not op
Mesmer – Chronomancer: Shield
Closer ranged maybe with some group quickness and enemy aoe slow type buffs
Necromancer – Reaper: Greatsword
Playstyle of gs warrior and mainhand sword thief is what comes to mind with teleporting and spinning, seems like skill five could be something that pulls an enemy to you and immobilizes them like death grip in you know what
Ranger – Druid: Staff
Probably a lot of cc and bleeds or just solid damage/abilties that cause your pet to perform the attack like a gw1 beastmaster
Revenant – Ritualist (maybe)
unsure
Same here this expansion is adding everything I’ve ever thought could make the game better and I’m completely blown away by everything coincidentally being what I’ve wanted for this game for awhile.
New profession and it’s a melee spirit guy. THAT IS MY KITTEN, MAN. ILY ANET
New pre existing weapon/profession combinations BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE, ADDED UTLITIES AND TRAITS TO MAKE IT LIKE THERES 18 PROFESSIONS TOTAL.(Kind of) OH BABY I HEAR THE BLUES A’ CALLIN’ , COLLIN.
New hardcore pve endgame map with added paragon leveling system (masteries)
DO YOU GUYS JUST WANT TO TAKE MY SOUL? YOU CAN HAVE IT
New spvp THE EXACT ONE I WANTED – SOMETHING SIMILAR TO FA IN GW1 – SERIOUSLY JUST TAKE EVERYTHING I OWN LOL
Not as hyped but also new legendaries is pretty freakin sweet too. Although if there’s one that’s styled into a design right perfectly up my alley (which will probably happen with this awesome streak) I might just have a stroke
hype speech over
I think the way they are doing it is like this.
You either pick Ranger or Druid. It’s like the original profession is a specialization itself. So MAYBE you will be restriced certain traits/utilities depending on which specialization you are. So if you pick druid maybe you lose 10 original ranger utlities and get 10 druid utilities, but if you stay ranger you dont have access to the druid utiltities or the staff weapon.
Just my speculation
Human Warrior
Went for a “lightly armored coolguy” look
Celebration Hat
Militia – Shoulders/Chest/Legs
Phalanx – Gloves/Boots
Sun Catcher – Back
Weapon – Ebon Vanguard Hammer

Scroll down to “Gold and Experience in PvP”
First paragraph
wink wink
@Bron: Oh I mean like a Shaolin monk.
I would love to see:
Thief – Greatsword – Staff (For some kind of thiefy support.((I imagine a skill like mesmer’s veil and some other weirdly interesting things like that for thief)) )
Warrior – Offhand Pistol (Rytlock has one)
Elementalist – Greatsword – Axe in mh or oh (dervish style like draxynnic said)
Guardian – Longbow – Mainhand axe
Necromancer – Greatsword (Reaper fighting with highish life force gain like dagger except with cleaving attacks)
Mesmer – Mainhand pistol sounds good
Engineer – Hammer – Main hand Mace
Ranger – Staff – Rifle – Scepter – Focus (Warden style excluding rifle)
In a video (I can’t remember what it’s called) Collin was interviewed and said that there would be new weapon combos in the future for all classes so this may happen/ probably will happen
I would love this but sadly with a normal caster staff already in the game I doubt it will be considered for a new weapon when they finally add one some day since the two are similar in appearance.
But I don’t know MAYBE.
The only obvious different weapon I can think of is two hand axe so bo staff may have a chance.
Oh and I would love a monk class too
Thief—————-
Disguise
For 45 seconds you look like an ally to all enemies
When you attack your disguise is broken and you gain 25% more damage for your next 5 attacks
180 second cooldown beginning on disguise break or the skill ending
explanation:
AI enemies won’t attack you
Enemies in PvP/WvW Will see you with a green name
If you are attacked in PvP/WvW the enemies will see that they did damage to someone but if they target you you will look like you have full health.
Warrior—————
Scream of the Juggernaut
Shout
When activated you knock back all enemies 200 yards
Deals 600 aoe damage
Grants 8 seconds of stability and swiftness to you and up to 5 nearby allies.
You and affected allies cause daze with your attacks for 2 seconds
Cooldown 60 seconds
Engineer——————-
(Witty sentry gun name here)
Summon a stationary turret that deals moderate damage and has high armor/health
Will attack random targets or the target you are attacking
Lasts 30 seconds or until detonated
Detonation: Fires 50% faster for 3 seconds
I imagine the dps of a rangers pet for balance. possibly lower
28k health
1600 toughness
180 second cooldown
Jetpack
You equip a jetpack for 30 seconds
You move 25% faster for the duration and endurance recharges 50% faster
You gain a skill called boost in the elite skill slot
Boost: Deals 600 damage and 2 seconds of burning in a radius around you and causes you to be launched 600 yards in the direction you’re moving like a dodge. Cooldown 6 seconds. Ends when the 30 seconds are up.
120 second cooldown
There were tears of joy in my eyes when reading what’s to come. I’ve always hoped something like this would happen but I gave up that hope awhile ago. I can’t believe it’s actually happening. I love to pvp but when there’s no reward from it for PvE/WvW I get burnt out quick as if it almost feels pointless since I’m a WvW player, and light PvE’er. But now you’re telling me I can do sPvP and make gold/ buy tomes of knowledge with said gold too.
Thank you, pvp team. Just.. thank you
I agree with this I would love to use the charr tier 3 heavy on my human warrior. Not necessarily the helmet (unless remodeled where it would look alright) but the feline style shoulderpads and matching rest of the set. Also Asura tier three is pretty awesome too
I agree. Back in the early days, you used to be able to get these as an occasional drop for doing dailies, I’ve had 6 or 7 drop, same with BL chest keys, instant repair canisters, instant revives, etc. I’ve not seen anything this good from dailies in quite some time, probably since late last fall. Back in November, or so, last year, it seemed they nerfed a lot of things, seemingly to push people in to the fractals and to use the gem store more. General drops last September/October were much better than they are now, but drops now seem vastly better than they were last winter. Drops were so bad last winter it was depressing and part of the reason I stopped playing.
I remember those days. I’ve quit a few times myself in the past for similar reasons.
What we really need, and this has been suggested many times, is a way to turn the bundles of regular transmute stones we get, into fine transmute crystals. It seems like every time I finish a map, its another 3 stones to collect dust in my bank. And I already have all 9 characters at level 80.
Even something like 25 stones, + 5-10 dust, +elonian wine, +whatever to make 1-5 crystals would be great.
I completely agree with this. (I haven’t noticed it being suggested before) That seems like the most reasonable and realistic thing to do. I hope Anet is aware of the idea and whatnot.
I would love this but it seems like for now they’re going to be introducing already existing weapons to professions that couldn’t use said weapon. But hopefully gauntlets or any type of fist weapon will make the cut in the future if or when they do add a few new weapons.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not much of a complainer. I’m satisfied about just about all aspects of this game. But there’s one thing that really sticks out like a sore thumb in my mind! Transmuting at level 80! It costs 200 gems for 5 transmutation crystals. 200 gems is around 10-13 gold on average. So whenever I think I’ve found that perfect appearance for my character I have to remind myself, “Welp gotta spend 10 gold for 5 transmutes.. alrighty then I guess.” It’s not devastatingly bad. But it’s a bit of a thorn in me side and in a game like Guild Wars 2 it seems like it would be normal for a thing like transmuting to be cheaper. (I dunno just seems that way to me)
I know I know it’s a buy to play and they need extra cash for the servers somehow. So something purely cosmetic like this would be a nice market sure. But honestly it seems like other gem store items should suffice in keeping them funded while we get a less stressful system for changing our armor appearances.
My suggestion would be to have a npc in lions arch that sells the transmuting feature for around 25 silver a pop.
And for something that seems more realistic. Maybe just up the amount we receive for 200 gems? I could settle for 10 crystals for the 10-13 gold price. (Well 15 really but I’m not gonna push it)
“But Tigger, 10 gold is not much at all! I have two legendaries and 500 gold on me!” Well believe it or not I’m a guy with 1200 hours under his belt and the most gold I’ve ever had was the 70 gold I have now.
Yeah I wish it was like that and vice versa. I like pvp once in awhile but not being able to get anything out of it for pve feels like a waste of time once the initial 30 minutes of fun is over per day/week for me. But that will never happen because they’re wanting sPvP to be a seperate game altogether to be a top notch esport or something. Which isn’t all a bad idea for hardcore pvpers but eh.
Just wanted to say that I dearly hope this gets added. I would love it to death and actually be passionate about it. I enjoy my warrior as my main character but time magic is something that interests me greatly to a very high extent. I absolutely love the idea of a time traveling risk taking hero. (Yes I am a doctor who fan)
This isn’t a huge deal or anything just a small suggestion. I think it would be nice if the human cultural tier 1 shoulder pad had more than one dye slot option. Also if there are any other armors with only one dye slot option others would probably appreciate that getting more color slot options too.
Pic for reference.
Good day govnas.
However the martial art “monk” profession is made I cannot wait to play it and actually enjoy it. I’m really picky when it comes to professions and only want one character that I focus on. I have 4 80’s but something about them just doesn’t hit the spot like a martial artist would. Currently D/D ele is the closest thing (in a weird way that would take me a lot of explaining if you don’t catch the drift) I also enjoy my warrior in a way.
Darn I was hoping that this update was gonna be palawa joko —→ Crystal desert related because the art of the prince looks like it could’ve been a re imagining of palawo joko.
But I suppose this is interesting too.
Five gods* Kormer doesn’t count because she took what wasn’t hers
-_-
Gonna be honest here. My only issue with the game is that there is only 1 base sPvP mode and they have made it a huge pvp grind to get the cooler gears. I think the solution would be to add in more things to show your rank like permanent finishers and other thi… Oh wait this isn’t the thread for that I got carried away. But yeah I’m just gonna wait for the future patches/expansions. The game is great for others but not yet for me.
Peace
I agree with the things you’ve said. I feel like each Profession has to do one thing or the other. It feels like there’s only 2-3 acceptable builds for each profession. I miss Guild Wars 1 and love the skill system. (3500 hours in it myself but never managed to get obby armor) but like you said it’s dead and now we’re left with GW2.
In the beginning I wanted to play a melee ranger in every aspect of the game. The reality that I’ve seen is this. Pet’s are pretty boring to me and I don’t know why but don’t like their UI/movement. And you pretty much have to be ranged in this game to be the best. Sure I could put a lot of time into getting skilled into melee fighting but why not just switch to shortbow/add condition damage Pew Pew Insane damage from distance. Seems like that’s the only option for ranger.
But it is the beginning of the game. I’m sure it will all be better once the first expansion is out but who knows when that will be? Next summer/fall?
(edited by Tiger.9786)
I agree with this. I love Guild Wars 2 and wish I was interested in playing it but am so bored to the point of one day playing an alt then just instantly exiting without any thought to it. Nothing I’m really missing except for a legendary that takes 300 hours or more grinding to get. WvW can be fun when interacting with other players but meehhhhh.
Yes I would love this. Maybe being able to level your alt five times a day from your 80’s xp. Or even less levels if that number 5 rustles anybodies jammboozles.
We are a very small team. The more skins we made, the less stuff we could make in the Box. So we settled for a minimal set, with plans to add to it with each new World we release. I love Engies and I wish we could have served them and Thieves better this time around, but had to make some tough choices.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/sab/No-pistol-or-rifle-skins/first#post1744768
Tyvm for this it answered my question. And guys I got a shortbow skin from the end chest in world 2. So yeah that exists
Does anybody somehow know if the rest of the weapons will be added to the super skin collection. Or if any Anet person could answer. Top of my head I know there’s not a rifle skin or a focus skin. (id really like a rifle skin :P)
An endgame PvE elite zone. Something similar has been posted in these forums. Here’s my concept in summary.
-One huge zone (the size of 1 1/2 queensdale or queensdale x2)
-One waypoint at the beginning driven by lore (like npcs saying it would be wise to turn back or it’s not safe out there.. even for asuran technology…)
-Enemies are tough and each have different mechanics so you have to think out your strategy on your toes.
-The zone has safezones where new armor/weapon sets are sold for tokens that rarely drop from the mobs in the zone. (these armor sets are purely cosmetic and there’s at least 4 different sets for each armor type along with 4 different weapon skins per weapon ) ((at least))
-The zone also has large world bosses that spawn like the dragons
-The zone has a fair amount of challenges that require some thought that reward the tokens
-Safezone towns that require regular defending
Basically it would feel like an explorable dungeon in open world. (This idea would give hardcore pve’ers something to do other than grind for a legendary and doing fractals)
More skills and or skill specializations Pretty straightforward
More sPvP game modes Especially Moba, and attack and defend
Heart of the Mists I’d personally like it to feel more homely and epic. maybe it being reimagined as a medium sized epic temple of balthazar complete with rooms and a free for all arena in the middle for silly duels/skirmishes
Different bought animations for skills Example: Ranger GS skill 2 shows a bear attack over me as i swing the sword down. I buy something that let’s me switch it to a tiger instead. The third skill shows a eagle swoop with me – could be replaced with a cheetah swiftly running in place and pouncing.
Ranger pet town clothes Ranger pets getting outfits that you can dye for a more personal pet for the cosmetic/roleplay player
These are my top items on my wishlist. I also agree with the reasonable mount idea. I don’t understand why people don’t want mounts.. it’s like having a car in an mmo. You arrive on it and it shows your taste – fun stuff
I agree with this completely. I’ve been hoping that one day they add a zone similar to Underworld or FoW of guild wars 1. More armor sets that set you apart. And most of all more profession build variety. It almost seems like there’s only 3-5 acceptable builds per profession per PvE/sPvP for “pro” status
I agree with this. I’ve become a pure pvper because of being bored of the pve available. And even though I enjoy pvp that too is getting boring with the one available game mode. This coming from a rank 20.
I really wish they would add epic and insanely difficult 80 maps that were massively large with one waypoint and plenty of challenges to master. welp that gave me an idea for a post. toodaloo lol
I would absolutely love this. The game really needs an elite zone where you have to always be on your guard. That would give such an epic feel
