Anzalias Post – Red Light District for }:) tower-cappers.
Why do the toxic sea snakes and the toxic vegetables want to bother the WvW worlds when there is enough dispute and war going on there in the first place?
They don’t have a home server, they don’t have a zerg or a commander who has tagged up to lead them to take towers. They don’t build siege and all they seem to want is to take up place in EB to force players to be in queue while the toxic alliance plant their toxic waste of a flower that we can just plow away and sell in Trading Post.
Just remove them or banish them to a home border in PvE, where they can harass other players and npcs with their toxic flower building and what not.
(Was not serious, but I hate seeing them in WvW, disrupting things and I would love to see them banished to PvE where they belong.)
He keeps building and emptying the supplies in every tower possible, even the camps. At least there clusters of trebs in odd places
Just realized there’s a connection between two entirely different servers, lol. Look familiar?
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/SOS-we-have-a-troll-in-wvw
No it’s the same server, by SOS he doesn’t mean Sea of Sorrows, he’s on Far Shiverpeaks.
I got a bit scared when I saw SOS, since my guild is named [SOS]. xD
Who the hell is this person and why is he sabotaging our progress?
Report this user and give the screen shot to Anet, they can do something about this troll. I have also seen this person drain the keep from supplies for no reason (random siege building, even in open fields).
This is quite simple really guys, its a Thread with “7” pages about runes, has that EVER happened Before ?, NO
That in itself should be an indication wether or not the Runes is indeed OP….
Just Saying
Irrelevant. The amount of pages on a thread about something is irrelevant if not backed up with worthy evidence to your arguments. By crying out that something is OP in a majority doesn’t really make any difference if you don’t give good enough reasons to why they are OP. And many people who can’t handle something they find hard to handle will often be the ones who start crying out OP first. It is similar to ducking your heads in the sand, hoping to make your problems vanish instead of trying to handle them.
I can understand that getting a lot of stacks of confusion can hurt, specially when it can be reapplied within short time, but I have seen bleed stacking exist and do quite a lot of damage as well as being able to be reapplied fast. Spamming burning for a long time does a lot of damage, and it doesn’t even wait for you to use a skill to take damage, it ticks by itself monstrously if the caster of the burning has good condition damage and a way to spam it all the time to increase the duration or reapply it if you remove it. Chilling can be a pain to meet often, specially if it is traited to occur every time you blind someone, and this can easily be reapplied in many ways, even by chilling with sigils.
There are many conditions that can be seen as OP if you are subjected to them quite often and can’t handle them very well as a certain class, burning is a monstrous condition to meet as any class, and being a condition built player, you do damage via conditions. This would nerf them even more if they are not allowed to perform these conditions in different ways. Confusion has always been an interesting condition to me, and it does deserve to be this powerful with perplexity. DPS spammers SHOULD deserve to be punished for spamming ruthlessly just to spike someone down, and this condition provides the caster some protection against these glass cannon spikers.
My two cents.
“Everyone knows I log on to AFK 90% of the time.” ha ha ha ha ha
We all know now what your server is about – no skill, no bravery, no expertise – so no glory can ever be sensed by any of your server members.
If we do not win, we do so knowing we gave every breathe of effort possible to every fight. We do not sit around waiting until the opponent(s) are not present so we can cheat our titles. Shame on you. Did you not learn anything from the Battle of Waterloo? When will you learn, you just haven’t got it in you, at a species capability level. Roll on next week, when we can have decent hard-fought fights again, (don’t shake FR readers), and we can be rid of these plebians who know not how to win in war.
I would want to apologize to any FR or anyone else taking offence by this person’s rude and offensive remarks in the area bolded by me. As an FSPer, I am ashamed to see him as a commander with such a foul behaviour as this.
Rank 62, which is the highest I have gotten on any character.
11k+ Kills.
A few other, more basic tips:
- Don’t ever take control of a siege while commanding.
This makes you immobile, also making your zerg immobile to stay with you, and if you need to act fast, you will be stuck on the siege and it will take time for the zerg to respond as well, often wiping you.
- Tell the elementalists to NOT drop down Static Field for speed boost. You got warriors with warhorns for the speed buff of the zerg, and the Static Field is valuable for AoE stunning your enemy zerg when approaching them. Having that skill on cooldown in a crucial moment when you need it is not fun.

Remember that any fortified tower you own on your server’s side in a border has a higher priority than a regular tower and SM when it is not yours or fortified.
Example:
After reinforcing/fortifying your captured towers you and your zerg decide to take a regular enemy tower (usually called paper if it is not reinforced).
When you get there, you put up a few rams or if you got a bunch of people with you, smash at the gate with raw force from your weapons.
When the enemy gate that you are attacking is at 50%, you suddenly get a report from your scout in one of your fortified towers that it is going to be under attack by an incoming enemy zerg.
What do you do?
You move directly to defend your reinforced tower because you can cap a paper tower anytime, while reinforcing towers can take time.
If you decide to ignore the report then you will lose the chicken (your fortified tower) while you get an egg instead (the enemy paper tower).
It takes time to fortify your captured towers because they require supplies, delivered by dolyaks, delivered from captured and protected camps.
Fortified keeps & Fortified Towers > Capturing enemy towers that got lower tier than your own towers.
You basically trade in a chicken for an egg if you don’t prioritize right.
Hope this helps!

Do please stay after you’ve done the seasonal achievements too. That would greatly help the server you are on. Hopefully you will have learned a few do’s and don’ts of WvW as well as improving your over all experience in WvW.
I have played WvW from day one, I would not pay for priority Que’ing. You have the option to transfer if your unhappy with your serves situation. Help fix the population imbalance issues, there is more serves without Ques then there is with Ques.
And the server you joined originally was the server your real friends joined in the start, so will you move out of that server alone, or pay for your entire family to switch just to “deal with it”, as many other people have told others to do? It becomes problematic when not all want to transfer with you and you really enjoy to play with them, which can be the main reason that many people stay in the servers even though they experience the long queue times.
The issue is that the Q (queueueueueuue) is causing problems even on lower tier servers such as some silver league servers, and telling people to simply transfer is not a way to handle the issue. That is like ducking your head in the sand to avoid the problem.
I absolutely love (hate) how I have been trying to interest the ex guild where I was an officer of, in WvW, to find that they were not interested whatsoever. Suddenly I see those very people in WvW thanks to the added seasonal achievement point farming.
I will slap anyone who comes with the bullfish excuse of suddenly getting interested in WvW exactly when the achievements arrived.
We need to add queues on PvE too. So, if a map like the one where Tequatl (Or any other dragon or popular event) is in, is full, the PvE players will be forced to wait in LA to get through a queue in order to participate. Why make queue for WvW and not a queue for any other part of GW2? Make the overflow an empty queue map and you will see the PvEers fill the forums with rage.
With the queue being added to PvE, the PvE players will think twice before moving over to WvW just for achievement points farming.
(I am a tad irritated tonight, so don’t take my posts super seriously.)

Well, now there is a good excuse to get up early in the morning to play some WvW, even for FR and their now-famous nightcapping. Thanks to the magical Queueueueuueueue.
The fact that many guilds before the leagues moved to the overpopulated servers. The overpopulated servers even paid for many guilds to go up there. I know its a pain with so many people but maybe consider moving to other servers instead of the top servers?
I know its wrong of me to say this but this might force people to spread out now. I played on reset night with no problems to get into any map and no lag. My fights are fairly small and even if they get large I have no problems. You might want to consider this.
There are guilds that logout so they bring down the population so they can get more people in to their server to me you are causing your own problems.
Also Anet is doing the overflow WvW maps so that might help you all out.
The length of the queues is not due to ppl moving up to T1. They moved weeks before, they didn’t all just move the Thursday before.
The mega-queues are due to the influx of achievement hunters. And this will not force the people who have been doing WvW for the last year to lower pop servers where they can pvdoor.
This will force them to look outside of GW2 for another pvp game.
^This.
Back to Dota 2 while I stand in queue…
I’m in FSP EU as well. Though, I disagree, we have a lot of experienced commanders that know what they’re doing. FSP also has its public TeamSpeak, so you can perhaps follow the commander better on TeamSpeak.
Also take into consideration that currently we have massive amounts of people that normally do PvE in the WvWvW servers right now.
Just give it some time.
I do follow commanders on TS, but it doesn’t always take TS to see issues with the tactics used sometimes. I have actually been on TS with many of the active commanders as well as other active WvW players and discussed the issue of us being too defensive at certain points when we would benefit more in being offensive. I can understand that we got issues with our performances because of the amount of PvE players coming in to WvW because of the achievements, but I am referring to the past few weeks, before the introduction of Leagues and the Achievement points from the Season.
Tip that has worked for me to bypass the queue bug:
If you can get in to a border, but wish to get in to an other border that has a queue then simply join a random border and re-queue to the border you originally wanted to join. This usually decreases the queue time for me a lot and lets me join the border much faster than when I queue from outside of WvW.
Hope this helps!
I will become surprised the day we don’t have any skill lag in WvW.
I’m on EU, Far Shiverpeaks, and for the past month I’ve only seen perhaps 1 or 2 commanders who actually made a difference and really commanded, capped, defend, then launch a counter attack while the rest of us defended what we capped, rest of the lot commanders just run around in a big cirlce capping/flipping and saying in chat let em have it we recap it in 15min, really, how kittening fun is that, it’s pointless gameplay.
And yes I’m speaking from my opinion, but really flipping cans and killing npc lords, is it that fun?, or would you rather have great battle defending a keep against the enemy players?
I have actually witnessed commanders going too much defensively to the point where we don’t get anything done except become the punching bag for the two other servers we fight against. Many commanders are either thinking about defending paper towers whenever an enemy zerg comes, without fortifying the towers we own and without actually being offensive to push the enemies away from our towers to focus on other server, or they just go for SM even though we got none of our towers fortified or even when we don’t even have all our towers on our side of the border.
What we lack, in my opinion, is offense, but at the right timing.

Hi guys been reading and hearing a lot about queues but have yet to experience the problem myself. I currently reside on Isle of Janthir and apart from reset night(5min wait no biggie) I havent had to queue and WvW is just epic right now. Great fights everywhere I turn, I don’t have to roam very long b4 running into an opposing faction. Also skill Lag what lag? no much of that either (though I avoid mass blobing). I have currently finished almost 7/15 of wvw achievements without trying at all.
My experience so far is leagues is a great success and it has been like a breath of fresh air to wvw. Now I understand that many of you are not have a good experienced at all. Lots of you cant get into WvW, you suffer with long queues and when you do get in you suffer lots of skill lag and dcs. Also some may only be able to play at certain times and may not even get to finish the wvw achievements.
So my question is for those who are suffering is why not consider moving to a lower pop servers? If you can’t even play when you want to play what is the point? Also if your on a stacked server that’s already going to win your gonna get the rewards even if you move. Time is important! and when you want to use it to enjoy yourself you don’t want to waste it waiting around in a queue. Honestly I don’t see a solution coming for the queue problem anytime soon. A good option for those suffering is to move(prob T5 or lower) and start enjoying the game because you are missing out.
FYI you welcome to join me on IOJ
I am happy to see that you are enjoying WvW!
The answer to your question about why we, who are in higher populated servers, do not change to lower populated servers is because we like our server. I can’t speak for all when I answer this, but I am loyal to the server I play on, even if there is a queue time in order to get in to WvW. Imagine the hassle it would take to switch servers every time a queue time would pop up on the server WvW. It is a waste of energy in my opinion, to transfer just because a queue has popped up, even if it is around 20 minutes to 1 hour long queue time.
I moved from a low populated server because the server had so few players in WvW, so no action, no success or progress because of the lack of people. It would just feel empty if I were to move down again because of the temporary WvW overflow (Thanks to the Seasonal achievements). OBS! I moved servers long before Leagues were introduced, and I am not in a T1 server either, just to clarify!

ANET should sell “Express Queue Card” in Gem Store, something work like year-ticket for sport fan.
Await everyone to have these tickets, if they were to come, and cause the queue to be just as long as it is now.
I am one of the WvW players who did not really see the need of the Season Achievement thing in the first place. If I was crazy about achievement points, I would be in PvE, completing things there as well as farming points and gold during the events, such as the current Halloween event. I just think that the achievements in WvW should be a tad harder to obtain, without the time limit in completing them, or else we will have an overflow of achievement point- farmers to take place in WvW for fast points.
We also have the Daily and Monthly that we are able to complete in WvW, which might give us some achievement points. I can agree that it is still a bit short, but why make things so incredibly overwhelmed to the point where everybody is going bananas just to get the points so that players who like WvW can not even enter?
An other question regarding these achievement points: What on earth does the Jumping Puzzle achievement on each border have to do with WvW? The jumping puzzles have been separated due to the reason of people taking place in the borders just to “jump” them, and now it is back to the point where you have to queue because of people who are in these jumping puzzles again? These Jumping Puzzle achievement shouldn’t be a part of WvW since the Jumping Puzzles themselves aren’t.

I wish FR the best of luck when they advance to the higher tiers, it will be harder for FR because FR can’t solely rely on nightcapping anymore then. Hope FR increases the activity during the daytime, FR will need it.
My view upon your name, Ablon Vitantur:
I have mixed feelings about the first name Ablon, it does not sound very Norn-ish, which I consider old Norse-like names or any Scandinavian names. It sounds more old English than Norn to me, and it would fit humans better. The last name is nice, and I like how you did not go with the typical “—-dottir”, so it was refreshing that you chose that name.
My Female Norn Ranger:
Birla Valgaard
I was reading through a lot of the posts you guys had, and Mr. Carver has been kind enough to respond and answer questions that you pose to him. However a lot of the replies are still uncalled for, whether its sarcasm or just a low blow at his qualifications.
Who is Mr. Carver if I may ask?
Human:
Midget
Girly Man
Midget norn
Can’t hold his drinks
Did I mention midget norn?
Norn:
That norn had a very attractive pair of eyes. -giggle-
Oh no, Guardians have the damage, just they’re the slowest profession at delivering said damage. And to Shimmer, dps Guardians “ridiculous” boon uptime is a joke, the most you’ll ever see is 5 seconds on a very long cool down. This also applies to the variation of boons. I tested a common Elementalist build and just kept switching attunements, using auras and I was able to keep 5 boons on me up permanently. It would have been 6 if I was fighting and receiving vigor.
So no, Guardians don’t have solid boon uptime at all.
You could always use the combination of runes that would add even higher up time of boons. I currently got 50%+ up time on my boons, and I never experience that I have to wait too long to refresh them.
Obsidian Sanctum is not the only jumping puzzle. If you don’t like having to fight for the chest, go to different one.
Oh no, don’t get me wrong, I do like the Jumping Puzzle Obsidian Sanctum, but I think it should be accessed from an other way than going through EB for it. So that we can split the “duelers/roamers” from the people who would actually want to do the actual WvW after being in the same queue to get in EB.
Hi there!
It is time for me to ask for an other thing about the Jumping Puzzle, that has now been removed from Eternal Battleground to now have a separate map in order to not waste place in Eternal Battleground for those who wish to do the WvW in Eternal Battleground instead of the jumping puzzle.
Why not make the jumping puzzle accessible the same way as all other borders are accessed? It would also reduce the queue a little since some of those who are queuing in to Eternal Battleground only then runs off to enter the jumping puzzle through the portal in Eternal Battleground?
Just a thought.

I also heard that one’s name can also be used in other servers as long as that name has not been registered in the specific server, so meeting someone with an identical name can also cause confusion if you would want to whisper or mail people with identical names to an other person from an other server. I don’t know if this is true or false, so feel free to correct me about this.
But if it is false, I would love to see names as well when meeting enemies in WvW.
I agree, because the shields on the back during “out of combat” mode hides the back item one would supposedly have, and that is so annoying. I am forced to either switch the shield for a focus/offhand or run around with a staff just to see my back item.
Hi!
I was wondering why the Weapon Dye system is gone from GW2 when you managed to implement it to GW1?
I found the fact that you could dye weapons to be a good idea, so that we could have more uniqueness, because not many people want to be the same as one and an other in having the same weapon colour when they already have the same weapon. It would also be nice to change dye on the weapons to fit armors better, to create a “whole” look to feel more completed and matched.
I would understand if it would take time to develop this system in GW2 because of the amount of dyes existing in GW2 and the amount of weapons available to obtain. To fix this or to reduce the hassle, maybe you could add a separate dye system where you release specific weapon dyes with the basic tones such as the starter colours for armors when you make a character, and then add more colours every now and then.
And some dungeon weapons and legendary can remain the same as they are now, similar to the unique weapons in GW1 that could not be dyed, I’m fine with that. But I just wish that the less legendary weapons in the Trading Post could somehow have the option of being dyed, it would also make the legendary weapons more “unique” of not being able to dye, unlike the less harder weapons to obtain could be.
It might not be the number one thing to focus on when releasing things to the game, but I do hope that the Weapon Dye system will eventually come back to GW2.
I would love to see some traits giving specific weapons more healing power when equipped than the 5% more damage.
It would make things more interesting, and also gives us more room to invest in other “stats” than healing power.
(My personal Opinion)
I would like to see that torment could have been added to Guardians instead of Thieves, just to punish the more mobile classes for abusing their mobility on the “too-slow-heavy-butt-” classes who do not have enough mobility to generally handle the super-mobile classes. (I do not mean handling as in beating, but handling as in generally keeping up/somewhat being able to keep a little up in movements without looking like question marks.)
Hope this made a little sense.
I am currently running a personal variant of a bunker build on my guardian and I got to say that the staff does quite nice damage just to finish off lowered foes!
It might not be as strong as a GS spec Guardian, but it can be a viable DPS weapon of choice if you really need staff and happen to have a slower attacking set (Mace/X) as second weapon set.
I am just stating this based on my experience with the Staff, it might be different for you or anyone else.
Hi, I noticed a couple of people asking what armour my Charr guardian is wearing. It’s the T3 Charr Cultural armour. Sorry for the late reply; I’ve not been on the forums for a while. Please PM me if you have any questions lol.
That right there is what I call a good Charr or a BEAST o3o I love how the armor just makes it look even more fierce and merciless!
Hehe, thanks! It’s had to find a decent-looking armour set for Charrs but you can’t go wrong with some good old cultural armour.
I like your armour setup too btw. :P Jelly of that shield lol – I haven’t got one single weapon ticket… >.<
Yeah, I heard about how hard and irritating it was to get the ticket after I got mine by opening 50 regular coffers… I would recommend people to keep farming coffers and only start opening once you are above 100, I somehow feel that it would be better than opening them one by one for each time you would get one dropped.

Far Shiverpeaks (EU)What kind of helmet is that it looks really awesome
I think it is called Barbaric Helm Cheap helmet found in TP.
-Running slower when randomly attacked by a hostile mosquito.
-Running slower as a guardian when suddenly your symbol that gives you swiftness, via the staff skill, suddenly does damage to a hostile mosquito FLYING over it.
I would like to mention that there is a little lack in back piece skin variety. I would love to see more skins and back pieces that actually can be seen when you tick the “show” option.
I don’t play a Charr because of them looking like they are hunched and got a bad back.
I also don’t play a Sylvari because of them looking like poorly textured plant people, with petals upon petals as hair and armor. Their armor, to me, looks all the same. T1 cultural: Leaves, T2: More leaves, T3: Even more leaves and maybe some fancy leaves to top it off!
I actually enjoy my HoM title “Closer to the Stars” quite a lot. I do like the fact that they got titles in GW2 based on the effort put during GW1. Got 2 points left until the “Ghostly Hero” title. o3o
People whine that they have to do PvP achievements… Anet removes the PvP achievements from the meta… people whine that they are removed….
This why you should completely ignore everything on the forums and just develop the game how they see fit.
People whine because the removal came after they had sat through the unpleasantness and are envious of people who do not need to sit through the unpleasant experience like them.
I think he reason people are complaining about them no longer counting is because they did them when they were supposed to count. I couldn’t care any less if you did not complete them as it is your personal choice to not do them or ignore the achievement reward or whatever you have planned, but I did them, and I am sure that those who did them during the time they counted should get the rewarded bar count for those achievements.
I can’t believe all the whining about “wasted time” and being “punished”. If playing (any part of) the game feels like a chore, why do you keep playing? The only one who forces you to do anything you don’t like is yourself! Now go patch your game tonight, get the wings and enjoy them. And next time, don’t do 2 achievements you don’t like and don’t need anyway. Because you all DID know that there were more achievements available than 10 needed for the wings, and you DID know that you couldn’t get the wings before today anyway. You COULD have chosen to not do dragonball at all if you hated it so much and get your wings by doing the other achievements.
I would like to remind you that most of those who do achievements to get a reward for doing X/14 always want to make sure to do as many as they can in case they are forced to miss out on a few because of real life situations, which is basically why people “force” themselves to do certain hated or less liked achievement activities to secure a few points on the bar.
I, personally, got work to do this week and some times I arrive very late home, and since the communication and information on how long special achievements or events are going to last, you would want to not miss them in order to get the reward you have been trying to get.
And we were not notified that the DB achievements were bugged or intended to not count until we had actually done them, and if those who haven’t done them don’t care about the fix then it is more than fair to reward those who had previously done those two achievements prior to this supposed “fix, where those two no longer reward players when completed in order to get the wings”.
However, it is good to hear that they reduced the required achievements that needed to be done to get the wings, but those who did those two DB achievements still need to be rewarded in my opinion as they still counted by the time people had started doing them and those who had completed them fast, before it was recognized as a bug and then intended to not count.
During my live stream on Friday I confirmed that the Dragon Ball achievements would not count towards the overall. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
I find it very funny that you guys don’t seem to agree on if it is a bug or if it was intended. If you supposedly told us about them not counting the past Friday, then why would Stephane Lo Presti type the following:
Is it not reasonable to make them count?
You are going to do the rest of the achievements when they come out anyways… why are you so upset?
If you wasted all that time doing the dragonball games, you will certainly waste the rest of the time you need to do the rest? I enjoyed dragonball, played about 7 or 8 games and stopped… does it really matter if you are at 7/9 or 9/9 if you are going to get your title/reward at the end of the bash anyhow?
I am not upset about the fact that they do not count, but the fact that they can not send out correct information in the start or when people ask for information regarding an issue about something being a bug or intended to be the way it was.
I am glad to hear that you enjoyed DB for as long as you played it, but I just want to clarify that not everyone got the information about them not counting, thus wasting our time doing those two to only find out that they did not count in the end. I would have saved a lot of time if I knew that they would not count from the start. I hate “grinding” through these types of “pvp” achievements, and these two were not very fun to go through, for me personally.

We’re aware of the issue and have been working on a fix that we hope to push at the beginning of next week.”
This was posted by him two days ago, and if I am not wrong, it seems like there has been problems with communication between the staff members regarding this.
I also feel that the majority of those who did these two achievements (Winning 20 sets of Dragon Ball games and playing a total of 20 Dragon Ball games) did not do it for mere fun, but for the bar to increase in achievements done towards getting the shattered wings.
Is it not reasonable to make them count?
