Remember Terror was already hit by, wat was it, 17% or something?

And guys remember when they said a 2 sec Dhuumfire was just a band-aid fix for PAX, and that they were gonna re-work it after the tourney, and now all they are doing is nerfing our base damage again.

First it’s Terror + Dhuumfire is OP so they nerf Terror
Then it’s Terror + Dhuumfire is still kinda OP so they nerf bleeds

Or i dunno, i dunno why they’re nerfing bleeds, i dunno what people think is OP atm, but imagine running a conditionmancer build in sPvP without terror and dhuumfire, i’m guessing the pressure would be pretty negligible. :|

If anything Sepreh, think of no AoE Swiftness as a gift to Necros :P . Imagine, if Warhorn had swiftness, all these elite WvW ppl would be telling us to use Warhorn or gtfo scrub, or our guild might make us use Warhorn, or our group will say use Warhorn and we’ll have no say in matter but to use Warhorn!!! Warhorn 5 does more than Damage, AoE Cripple, Swiftness, but also LF Gen, not that LF Gen is needed much in WvW but for other game modes it’s useful.

What you’re trying to make happen is called Homogenization, where basically classes get the same stuff to make the game more balanced, which (in my opinion) ruins class uniqueness, it happened a lot in WoW over the last 2 expacks and GW2 is no exception.

Why do we need AoE Swiftness on a Warhorn? Because other classes have that on the same weapon? That’s not a reason, that’s homogenization, the cheapest form of balance.

I in no way mean to undermine your opinion or offend, this is just how i feel about even more homogenization in GW2 and why i think things like this shouldn’t happen.

As a Necromancer i am selfish and do not care about other people, therefore i don’t need AoE Swiftness.

In seriousness, the toss up between Warhorn and Dagger for me is exactly 50/50 in WvW, i’ll use one, then the other, depending on what i feel like doing, AoE swiftness on the Warhorn would probably push me in favor of Warhorn to about 80/20 in WvW, and i’ll be picking the obvious choice.

I don’t want an obvious choice, i like it as is. Also, Necromancers aren’t really known for their boon giving abilities.

WvW is where Stability and Cleansing shine :P that’s why we have Guardians in GvG and Zergs. It’s about team orientation, we serve the purpose of boon stripping, blind/chill, spectral wall, condition spreading etc, where as the guardians provide us with boons like stability and cleanse for fear.

We don’t NEED stunbreakers in organized fights, wells wells wall, part of the way we move in a zerg fight is to help avoid all CC, flanking from the side, rushing the backliners and avoiding the melee train, regrouping for buffs/heals which includes STABILITY. All of these things are reasons we don’t need stunbreakers in zerg fights, especially organized ones, i would consider stunbreakers a waste for me in this type of fight.

What, you get stunned by a warrior, u stunbreak, 1 second later, another hammer hits you, you get pushed into a static field, a fear lands on you, GG, you were standing in the wrong area, wrong placement in a zerg fight is one of the killers for backliners.

Another thing about organized zergs/guild zergs, organize your groups based around guardians, 1 guardian per group, guaranteed buffs and heals. If you’re in a pug zerg and can’t find any guardians to group with (god forbid), then avoid all contact with the enemy melee and stay out of the melee train (death zone).

If you’re running with a zerg i don’t recommend 30/20/0/0/20 purely for the fact that most of your tree will be useless. You don’t need LF gen in a zerg, most of spite is wasted, and your most valued weapon ‘the staff’ will be blocked. For zergs it is highly recommended to run wells and staff traits, as your purpose in a zerg is back lining.

This goes the same for Guild vs Guild, where a proper setup is mandatory.

As for roaming 30/20/0/0/20 does fine.

All +damage tooltips that i know of don’t affect condition damage, which is what terror is, it usually only affects direct damage. So i would assume it does not affect it, also haven’t tested it.

With DS now passing overflow damage onto the health orb, i am not sure how valuable that will be.

It will let us open with fear, shackles, teleport, watever, that is my main concern.

If you’re on Battle of Kyhlo with a Warhorn, you can use Locust Swarm on the crates next to the home capture point and hope no one destroys it. :P

I agree with Bhawb!! We need Female Tornadoes!! Too long has my girlfriend been disgusted by the lack of a female tornado models, it’s about time Anet gave us one, and also the name for the skill on females should be changed to ‘Hurricane Katrina’.

How is Terror Overpowered?

In say sPvP, it usually does around 1k damage/s and with most Terrormancer setups you can achieve up to 4 seconds of chained fear, potentially more by corrupting Stability.

So from that, that’s already 4K+ damage just from using fear, which is anywhere from 20-30% of most players HP. Add a few stacks of bleed, burning, poison and that player will be almost dead and about to die from bleeds while CCed the entire time.

It’s pretty similar to a thief stun lock but ranged and in the form of conditions instead of direct damage. In a perfect scenario it can seem quite bursty, but that requires heavy condition application before the cherry on top (terror) is applied.

Regeneration?

It grants regeneration to anyone (max 5) inside the circle when it blasts, if you are not inside the circles AOE upon blasting, it will not grant you regeneration.

Also, it does grant regeneration at full HP, you can test this in HotM on the golems.

Oh, a zerg build, have you considered swapping out Vampiric for Transfusion on occasion now it is buffed, heals upto 3200 per person x5. I pretty much use it when we re-stack in a zerg fight to help top everyone off because it’s the same healing as 2.5x water blasts

Just giving my view from experience, i don’t like to impose on other peoples builds.

Commanders already double tag up to complete different objectives with different groups of people at the same time. It would probably be rare on low pop servers or even silver/bronze league but it’s not uncommon on high pop ones or gold league.

Ye :P that is true o/, and i’m sure after some time a lot of the people uninterested in WvW will go back to what they usually do, but the thing about the league is i don’t really mind waiting 30 mins in a queue to join a half WvW half PvE population because it’s almost the same case on the other 2 servers as well. :P

After i got into EB before, the PPTs were sooo tight that we fought dam hard to stay ahead and hold up our Oceanic strength. It was good times, then after i was able to join BLs with my guild for more organized play, which was good too. I think the frustration we see now will pass quickly.

Ye Buzz this would be the ideal thing to do for any friendly Commander, it’s just you have to sympathize with some players who are apart of elite WvW guilds :P because it is taking away a part of the game for them that they enjoy more than anything.

It is good to help new WvWers and turn them pro, but u must be able to see it from the hardcore WvWers POV to understand why they feel agitated. Imagine it like this, a bunch of new tPvP achievements come out that benefit players in PvE, so all the PvE players jump into Solo Q tournaments and ruin the experience for the real PvPers. heh.

I’m on no side :P but i still see the issues brought up in this thread from both perspectives. In-game i’ve seen commanders getting frustrated at new players for being clueless, but i’ve also seen some helping new players in map chat and TS3, which is great.

The last time people did that to us (the OS kite achievement), we coordinated with the 3rd server to work together and take down the campers, it ended up being a pretty fun afternoon.

We all know skill lag is server side, we all know it exists, we all know it still happens, i never denied any of this, you seem to think that i know nothing about skill lag.

The only thing i am replying to is this “I cant remember any fight with more than 20 players involved not having some kind of issue”. I don’t even remember the last time i played WvW with under 20 people by my side and on the enemy’s side, yet no skill lag.

I actually missed last years halloween due to playing other games, and when i got to experience it this time it felt pretty fun (esp. clocktower) :P. Obviously now after a week it’s boring becoz the content is all casual and repetitive, can’t help that but it still holds up better than the other rushed Living Story trash they put out during the year, would you agree?

Except SAB, that is the best patch ever \o/ imo :P

I do play NA, the server had a 30 min queue tho so it was indeed full, i do have a good computer and very fast internet, don’t know how much that effects skill lag but i don’t really care, i played fine.

Sorry about your lag, i hope that the devs improve performance for people who do have constant lag, and won’t be turned off by WvW.

Are you saying over the course of the entire season, the population will not drop on some servers to a level where skill lag will be in fact rare?

Even with a massive queue this morning, it was rare during massive fights, dunno wat to tell u, i had a very decent time in WvW for hours.

This game has too many conflicting game modes lol, WvWers hate the PvErs, who hate the PvPers who hate everyone else.

I think leagues are alright, eventually the general pop will go down, and skill lag will be rare, it was even rare before when i got in EB.

PvErs will go back to candy farming, zerkers will get frustrated from dying so much and stop queuing, and we’ll have the solid WvW crowd fighting again.

I’ve also noticed a massive reduction in BP and badges i don’t want a bunch of greens from WvW i want WvW stuff. There’s been so many changes to WvW over the months i can’t keep track of what they did to the loot, but it’s definitely a lot slower for badges/BP.

You guilds and your guild drama, server drama, commander drama. There’s such an unbelievable amount of foul play in these servers that it takes all integrity away from the leader-board.

Sure it’s disappointing to wake up on SoS and find you got cheated during the night, but i hope the people involved know that foul play never results in anything good.

Hello Anet, lemme start off by saying the new condy floaters are immensely helpful and i thank you for adding it in.

However with the new floaters, now that they output a lot less number spam, i was thinking if maybe it would be beneficial to add a font size scale to them that would allow condy floaters to reach a size as big as direct damage under the new floater design.

As it is now, by rough paint sketches, condy damage seems to be around a font size 16, where as direct damage is around size 36.

What i was thinking is maybe a pull down option to allow us to set the font size on the new floater numbers. I don’t think people would want this on the original floaters though, as that would cause huge number spam and a small font size is arguably needed to reduce that spam.

But for the new floaters – Something like this below may work (Assuming 16 is Condy size and 36 is Direct Damage):

Small – 16 (Current Condy Font Size)
Medium – 26 (Between Condy/Direct Damage)
Large – 36 (Same size as Direct Damage)

I know that soon my eyes will adjust to seeing the new condy floaters much easier and it’s already not too hard, but i still think this option would make people happy.

I think i will try a full Apothecary set in WvW with the staff/well support build. Condition output shouldn’t change dramatically.
