I loved me ’pipes in LOTRO.

The bigger /say range is good for WvW though. I can /say to people that are attacking or defending a tower or camp that I am at. I don’t want to clutter team or map with that traffic. Plus if everybody attacking or defending is using those chats, then nobody will know who the intended recipients are.

I would have to add in a lot more information. I would have to say for instance, “Attackers at BV coming from the north” if I can use say then it can be something like “look north.”

PINK is huge because a lot of people join it for the organization in WvW. There are people in my guild that PvE under the KF tag, but WvW under the PINK tag. We do not have a server wide voice chat that I know of, so many people go through PINK for that. I think it is a great way to get the WvW better organized.

By putting nobody you invalidate your whole post. You should have said “I don’t give a kitten about underwater.” That is more valid and might get you a better response.

Does anyone actually like Breakouts? I feel like the NPC cheapens player accomplishments like taking a tower or breaking into a borderland. Maybe I just want my WvW PvP game to be about players, not some meta mechanic that makes me feel helpless / lazy.

Whatever, people on TC know I loathe this Breakout thing.

I want to see how it works a few days into the match. On the first couple of nights there are a lot of people on every map. I think we had 4-5 commanders running around TCBL and CDBL at one point. Around Tuesday or Wednesday, most of those commanders will be on EB. There will be a handful of us left on the BLs.

Typical BL fighting means flipping the southern supply camps over and over. Eventually, you might get 6-10 people somewhat herded into a group for a try at the southern tower. This loose group generally doesn’t fight well together so it can be hard to get siege built. A tiny number of defenders on siege can easily counter this weak attack, so it goes back to supply camp flipping.

I hope the break out events can help the small number of us that prefer to fight on the BLs rather then zerg around EB.

I do staff and wells on my necro, and it seems to work pretty good.

I agree they need to slow down and take care of things now.
This is not a casuals persons game – it is a grinders game simple -
BIS gear and loot is 1 place fracs.
They nerfed loot drops and have forced casuals to purchase gems ->gold in order to just keep up with the grinders or fall behind. This isnt going so well and the greed is showing.
Bots have ruined the economy and will always have an edge until Anet decides to undercut them killing the economy further.

I would have happily payed $25/mon for a pre Nov 15 game with no DR. But I think it is a lost cause. I hope they do pull out of it cause I did enjoy this game and dont want it to go F2P.

Agree. If this is the alternative to a subscription-based game, sell me a subscription to a rewarding game without the gear grind.

The alt f4 change is really needed, but I think it wasn’t taken far enough. Perhaps dye their armor pink for 30 minutes in addition to the other penalties? You should be able to differentiate the method of disconnection and punish/not punish people appropriately. This would solve some people’s concerns.

Btw for those who’s machine crashes 1-8 times an hour, buy a vacuum and clean out those dust bunnies.

I came to agree about the OPness of Deer but to add that they have nothing on a flock of angry chickens.

I have to admit, the time I hit a chicken in Ebon Hawk, I ended up running for my life. I was screaming out loud (and much to my family’s amusement), “Chickens! Chickens! Holy ____, don’t mess with the chickens!”

I am glad that I am not the only person to be attacked by Angry Chickens. I was so surprised that I had no idea what to do.

Today I was in Ebonhawke when I saw a herd of chickens. There is an achievement for killing such nasty creatures so I casually tossed my axe at them. They had damage numbers flash over their heads but they did not die. I threw my axe at them a few times, but since they did not die I decided to move on.

A few seconds later the herd of cackling death birds came charging down the hill at me. Threw the flurry of feathers I was able to discern that there were 6 birds. They all commenced attacking me. I attacked them with a renewed vigor fearing for my life. Sadly these chickens still did not take damage, and they were able to overwhelm me.

They slowly ate my still living flesh until I died.

One side loses in wvw because it is outmanned. If we have the number, we do not need the npc commander gimmick. If we do not have the number, the npc commander will not even start to do his things. Something in the design does not seem right.

it seems to be designed to help attack enemy BLs. Rather then getting stuck flipping the southern supply camps only, now a small number of people will have a fighting chance to take the southern keep. With a small foothold the BLs become much more interesting.

Remove repair costs from WvWvW, Alt + F4 problem solved in a much better way.

The way indicated in the OP will solve an other problem though: No more wait times and half the amount of mappers, gatherers etc.

As a side effect: less < lvl 80 characters in WvWvW …and less new players trying out WvWvW.

Umm…I have leveled from 25 to 65 in WvW and never used ALT+F4 ever. I have brought a number of new people in WvW and they have never used it.

I doubt the average casual mapper and gather is hitting ALT+F4 to escape from death.

I doubt you know what you are talking about and I believe you are complaining to complain at this point.

Mounts don’t really fit the game. The maps are not big enough for the most part to need them. Other games that have mounts create the maps with mounts in mind. This means much larger and more open maps to give you the illusion of size in the game. If you had a mount in most GW2 maps you would ride across it so fast, that many people would complain about how small the game is.

Played it for 3 years. Moved on. Then played LOTRO for 3.5 years and moved on. Now I am enjoying GW2.

CD is tough. I had forgot how tough they are. They were giving us a strong fight on the TCBL. I fight almost exclusively on BLs, and that is the first time in a long time that I have seen that much fighting on our own BL.

LOTRO had fishing. It was boring and nobody I knew did it. Twas a waste of resources to create the thing. There are a lot of more important things to add to this game then something like fishing that I would guess less then 1% of the population will do.

My max size Male Norn Ranger uses Humiliation (a bright pink), pink, and morning glory (lavenderish) dyes. He also has a pet pig rather regularly. I wish the bad guys didn’t just see me in red.

Not having names showing would make things much more tactical, and it would require more communication. If you were solo or in a small group then you would have to worry about everybody you see because there would be no way to know if they were friend or foe.

I am missing only the southern vista in Yaks Bend Garrison on their BL. A couple of days ago we (Tarnished Coast) held their entire BL. I was running around trying to get the map completed.

I ran into the Garrison to get that last spot, and as I ran in YB took down the walls and charged into their garrison. I ran as quickly as I could for the vista. The YB defenders were enraged and wanted blood. About 10 of them saw me running to the garrison door and gave chase. They caught up with right outside the garrison and proceed to fill my body with arrows. I died about 30 steps from the vista.

I am still missing that vista, and it is the only WvW spot I am missing on map. That vista is mocking me.

One of my favorite little things with this game is that the cannon fodder attacks each other. To many other games have wolves and meat side by side and they never fight.

Yeah, it’s funny what Americans consider a “British” accent, especially since I can think of a dozen different British accents off the top of my head.

Well….there is considered to be an American accent and I can think of many different American accents too. British people do American badly. :P

I also love the Sylvari. I made a mesmer that I deleted at 40 (class wasn’t for me). So I made another Sylvari, a thief this time. I am enjoying the Sylvari areas as much as I did the first time through.

Anyway, I have a Razor mouse that I got maybe 3 years ago. I like it quite a bit, and it has been durable even when shoved in a computer bag. I am thinking about getting a mouse with more buttons though since mine only has 2 extra side buttons.

If you haven’t already I would suggest trying the mice to see how they fit your hand. I picked the razor I have after going to Bestbuy and trying out a lot of mice.

If you want competition go to WvW or SPvP. If you win, you are good. If you lose, you suck.

I like that it is character specific.

I am not a commander.

I like to know who the commanders are when I enter the map. If it is account wide then some guy that has 20 characters will have 20 commanders. How am I supposed to know who that is at a glance? There are certain names that I have come to know, and I will follow them even when they do not have their commander icon turned on. I will follow them to other maps if they move because I know they do a good job.

Steam would want a cut of the profits made from selling the game. At this point Anet does not need to go to that extent to sell the game.

The boss names did make them more memorable. Nobody will remember Grawl Champion, but Yakslapper is gold.

I also like the in game calender. Yes you can use forums or 3rd party stuff, but in game would be so much better. One stop shopping is always better then having to go to different places to do things.

Last logged in would be good to have.

I have a small guild, and probably wouldn’t kick people, but it is useful to know know for those that are indifferent time zones then myself. I don’t always see everybody on a regular basis, but it would be nice to know still if they are playing.

TC once again managed to please The Golem Gods and took both YB’s keep and FA’s keep with 9 golems, plus everything inbetween!

Just a pity that the defending-focused commander left and an attack-focused commander took over, else we may have held the FA keep alot longer.

Still, was alot of fun!

I agree. We are not the best, but we fight hard. Even when getting slaughtered we fight hard. Tarnished Coast is a great place.

The game is doing great. Way more people bought it then expected, and many people are still playing it. I don’t understand why people want to wish death to any game they play, and why they will discuss to death in what way it is dying.

Those metrics would be useless cause they wouldn’t tell whether players are doing those things cause they like them or because they have to do them to actually get to the fun content.

What do you have to do in GW2 to get to fun content? There are no dungeons leading to dungeons. There are no small raids leading to bigger raids. Unless of course you mean the game itself. I suppose you could say people are FORCED to slog through the beginning zones to move to higher leveled zones.
