Completely agree, solo going against Premades is what make my friends quit guild wars… We work in different shifts and we can rarely play together. On the other hand A-net thinks that we are perfect cannon fodder…

It`s like protesters with rocks and sticks against heavily armed police force with helicopters radio links and artilery. It is fun for A-net and for some premades, but its not fun at all for solo players, and this leads us to a much smaller community.

Unranked shouldn’t even exist with this leaderboard format.
They should simply have solo queue and 5v5 queue, both ranked only, that would improve so many things.

why? To allow casual and new players be farmed for points by experienced players?

Casual and new players are now on farm list (farmed by premades), that makes people run away from spvp and never come back.

With separate solo and team que, organized groups cant farm newbies. Yes we need solo and team que (both ranked).

You complain about Warrior sounds? What happened to all Warriors these days.

Main problem for me is:

I bought this game to play PVP with warrior and warrior only. I was imagining (based on other MMO games and based on Anet’s advertising) that warrior will be a melee class. I was imagining that warrior should be on the frontline, doing DPS or Tanking.

I could not have dreamed that Elementalist (cloth) will be the best tank. This game teach us that mage is tank or dps, mage have usefull melee build… Low armor, low hp, cloth user…

But where was warrior if mage is melee class which can tank… Warrior is ranged cissy with support role…

Something is wrong here? No.. its not wrong its uside down….


We want the Warrior to be capable of good melee damage in a sturdy body. They can still do some decent damage at range, but they aren’t as good at it as the Ranger (with their pet). They have a hard time taking enemy boons down, and instead, have to just go through them with raw force.

Speculation; Revenant is being hyped and marketed as an awesome heavy armor class in order to attract upcoming sales, while we warriors have been progressively nerfed over the past year.

For WvW will you switch to Revenant or continue as a Warrior?

Don’t believe the hype. Don’t believe them, remember hype about spvp and look where it is now. Remember what happened to warrior (high armor & high hp joke) and how they didnt have clue what to do with pvp and how to balance.

Rember SOTG events and all false promises from Jonathan Sharp and others.

Just look where we r now… We dont have fun in pvp (only 1 ultra boring game mode). We dont have endgame pve content (nothing to play for). There is no use for guilds…

GW2 did not fulfill a single promise, r we ready for new ones?

Generally for a $40 expansion you will get 8-10 dungeons with 8-10 additional hard modes, and 2-3 raids. These dungeons are generally what keep people playing the content as they search for new gear and master the encounters…

Is there an equivalent in HoT? What will keep us playing after we finish the story 2-3 weeks in?

I just haven’t seen any info on this, i’m sure it is somewhere, but I can’t find it.

M8 this is (guild wars2) forum. There is no raids or expert dungeons here… Did you misstype something?

They promised us PVP MMO woth some PVE content, but after 3 years, i didnt see any PVP or even PVE content. Just boring grind… There is no raids or expert dungeons.

3 years after launch this game does not even have a pvp (only 1 buggy stupid, boring and unbalanced conquest mode).

GW2 have best graphic, i think best engine also but… worst pvp and pve developer team ever…

WoW and Rift are much better and interesting game, they got endgame content and few diferent pvp modes… We got good graphics, they got pvp&pve endgame + alot of fun…

um. with great damage u have to sacrifice something.
btw If u set up shout heal, and rune that shout remove condition, with mace and shied u can be a super tank with slightly low but still average atk. I once hold 4ppl’s atk and killed one of them

This must be a lie, or you talk about PVE (or you are elementalist and you are here to troll). Warrior cant tank, best bunkers (guardian) cant tank more then 2 good players.

Btw did you tank real players or few low lvl mobs in PVE??

There is no chance that warrior can tank anything with brain in tPvP.

Nope. Never even heard of it until you mentioned it.

Try sometimes. (you need to go to Heart of the Mists) There you can try some tPvP.

It’s very different than PvE.

I did Uninstall yesterday, i play good pvp games now. Everything is fine now. I dont need fix, and i dont care now. Im not stupid enough to wait another 9 months (or even more).

  • They fail at start with boring conquest.
  • They fail to balance game.
  • They cant fix problems.
  • They do not even think about new game mode.

That’s what I’m interested in. They cant deliver….

3) Gap closing. CC removal is fairly horrid on our class considering that we can only remove 1 or 2 at a time and it’s on a long cool down yet classes can eaisly stack 3-6 conditions in a matter of seconds depending on the class. So either we need a better method on removing chill and cripple, OR we need better options to close the gap that are not hampered by all the CC constantly used against us.

This is a common misconception about the warrior.

Mobile strikes (Discipline X) removes immobilize every time you use one of your movement skills.
Charge (warhorn 4) removes cripple, chill and immobilize and gives swiftness on a 15 second cooldown.
Mending (heal) removes 2 conditions on a 25 second cooldown
Signet of endurance removes all conditions on a 45 (36 with signet master) second cooldown.
Restorative Strength (strength II) removes crippled, chilled, immobilized and weakness when you use a healing skill.

You have tons of condition removal, and a lot of it is specifically targeted at mobility hampering conditions that are a warrior’s bane.

I run a 20 20 0 10 20 G Sword + Axe/horn setup and have very few complaints about the class.

the thief is not OP, it’s probably one the weakest 1vs1 fighter along with the necro, in current meta, and is worthy only in a coordinated team environment and still a lot less worthy than most other classes aside the war.

But back to the topic. Invisibility is not invulnerability. Even if you’re invisible, you’re still there and can take dmg.

But why, If both stand at same spot (touching each other), why can’t I know that he is there? If we are so close (almost sharing spot) I should be aware of it. In some other game when you are so close Rogue is 95% transparent (not fully invisible).

Most AoEs don’t hit them either.

Only few non true aoe’s (which have to hit the target like lich ulti) cant hit them. Even radiance/mock work (available to all heroes) + all true aoe skills work on invisible heroes.

In GW2, just mashing “1” and watching the combo moving forward is enough to hurt badly a thief.

Just mashing “1” – not on all weapons/professions.

Thieves can only stealth for 3s by default unless using Shadow Refuge which has a kind of 3s of channeling and it only gives you 12s of stealth in total.

Another lie or you just dont know to use your skills.

In DotA you got a hero that is permanently invisible!

At same time reveal is available to all heroes (stealth also).

There’s even a hero that can stay 5s invisible and still attack and do anything he wants without breaking it.

He dont need to brake it but i need and i can brake that (there are few counters also available to all players in MOBA or WoW)….

Wait, wait is this about dota 2 or about thief + culling bug in gw2??

What wrong in giving another option to avoid those channeling skills? Rapid Fire is a 5s channel with 10s cooldown skill. It cannot be correctly dodged and it still gives away your position even if you do. What if the thief burned a smoke bomb utility to prevent damage? It’d be a skill reaction counter and would be a good start to make Stealth more useful outside of unlocking powerful attacks or plain staying invisible most of the time.

landing a channeling skill on a about to stealth thief is harder to do than alot of you think..

My post was sarcasm. When someone ask how to deal with thief stealth answer usualy is “anticipate, dodge”. So if i can dodge something i can not see or predict (when thief come from stealth out of nowhere), why thief cant dodge or predict simple shannel skill? Or why class with best disengage in game need to be invulnerable while stealthed?

GW2 is the only game on the market where there is no mechanism to reveal or counter stealth. Please dont tell me about AOE or autoattack i know that but… there is no chance that you can be sure where is thief, so you cant counter it for real, you can try to anticipate and land preemptive aoe but that is not real counter.

Real stealt counters:

in Dota 2/Hon: wards of true sight, dust of revelation, silence, etc…
in WoW: You can see invisible units when they r to close. Any dmg also reveal invisible units….

Stealth has never broken channels. As to whether it’s intended, it’s never been stated either way. The best way to handle channels are evades or interupts.

Since stealth will give reveal debuff even if you don’t attack this nonsense needs to go.

I feel so bad and dirty when i play against a warrior that it hurts my soul. Same thing happens in Hot Join when i use a mesmer or a thief. Or with an Ele in spvp.
Right now i just play engi, necro or guardian, they are the only classes that I can play without feeling bad and dirty, except when i play against a warrior, those poor people are cursed by arena.net.

Read more carefully next time. This List is not about hot join www or PVE.

I might bring a bit sad news but NO ONE wants to play against 5 people team. For as long as anet do not correct matchmaking system, I will just leave any game against 4-5 people with same guildtags.

Only “Sado Maso Bondage Slave” can find pug vs premade interesting. Anyone with a brain would leave immediately. Where is fun if you know outcome even b4 game start???

ANet, I am one of your most loyal PvPers but this is absolute h-o-r-s-e-s-h-iiii-t.

What is your excuse for MM working like this?

I don’t even care that much that I lost the game, I know I can grind up my MMR easily. But why should low levels get matched against this? This is the reason PvP is dying.

Low levels are still getting discouraged from playing this game because your MM is still dysfunctional. There is no reason for this to still be a problem.

This has been said a thousand times before, and I will be said a thousand times again (if you don’t fix this): there needs to be a reliable Solo/Duo Queue with functional matchmaking. Until that happens this aspect of the game will continue to shy new players away and into the zerg-fests of hotjoins.

This will never host a competitive environment until these changes are made.

But what do you expect from a company that does not know how to create random map rotation?

For a while I have found, that the main problem with mmo’s are the communities.

I’m sure you’re right:

10 months without anything new in PVP – community fault
the game is full of bugs (no one fix them 10 months so far) – community fault
bad MM design – community fault
devs don’t know how to implement random map rotation – community fault

I purchased this game strictly for the “standalone PvP”. I was under the impression that this mode would be supported separate from other modes and would have rigorous development post launch to ensure that A) the game was fun and b) the game was progressing toward the esport scene. Boy, where I got those ideas from I may never know because that is most surely not what I purchased.

Elementalist: Immortal, can only be countered by ANet patch notes. If you face one better forfeit.

Mesmers: Look for the real one, it’s not hard. Once you do that you counter them 100%.

Thief: Impossible to counter because stealth is broken. That petrifying 45 seconds cd elite needs to be removed.

Warrior: does too much damage so they have no counter. make sure to bring up the fact that warrior does loads of damage everytime someone complains about some other class doing ridic burst.

Guardian: Don’t need to counter them because they’re balanced. They do no damage anyways.

I think there’s gonna be a lot of disappointed people when the details on custom servers are finally released.

Its Anet’s tradition, they love to disappoint us. They are masters in marketing.

How far will we be able to customize a custom PvP server? Any intention to let us restrict access to certain professions? I’d love to see custom servers which only allow the more balanced professions in, since the overpowered professions never get fixed.

People have too much hope in Custom server.

What is custom server?? Justg another empty sPvP server but yours (and you gona have to pay gems to rent it). Is that gona help??? Not at all. We are going back again, they are not looking for ways to make the game more interesting, they just bringing back gems in pvp.

The game is pretty much dead. Atm in europe (14.00):

  • 3 round dont pop
  • Only 15 of 325 hot join servers are being used. That’s a 4,6%. And half of this servers have 2 people. (So that makes a 2-3%)

GW2 died 6 months ago. Developers developing promises only, they dont care about game.

They did not know enough to create good game, but they are masters at marketing.

Ofc is bad, no it’s very bad. A successful game should have more than 1-2 thousand people playing at 14.00 pm.

So, you’re mad you lost 5v4?

Or that the high ranking player from your team never joined the game?

Or that the rank 50s on the other team lost a few matches and dropped their rating?

Or that the low ranks on your team won a few matches and raised their rating?

Or that you were the worst player in the game whilst playing the most ezmode class?

In case you have vision problems there is rank 58, rank 53 and rank 29 on left side and only rank 8-15 on right side. In case you r new to this game rank 8 need only few hours, on the other hand rank 59 need 6-7 months to achieve.

Wladimir Klitschko vs 7 year old kid, sound exciting. I do not know whether it’s just more interesting to watch or to swap places with Klitschko and beat up poor child.

They do… But if you look closely, number decreases each month (as well as playerbase).

My guild had ~450 people online in novembar, now when i log in to game i can see 10-15 ppl.

When you go to Heart of the Mists, you can see… well… you can see mist.

ATM top teams and solo players asking for separation. Only players from bad teams (ppl with team but without skill) need to stomp solo quer’s.

So what we got here:

- top teams/players asking for separate queue
- solo players asking for separate queue

- bad teams/players do not want to change anything

So if we dont change anything, only only few bad teams/players will stay.

I have cycled pretty much trough all the 70+ pages and have seen maybe arround 4-5 dev posts.

What is up with that? I do know they are short on staff, but at least one dev post per page would not be so hard. Either just telling us something like “Yes, we are looking into that”, or “No, we dont consider changing this(or that)”. It gives us the feeling that we are still considered by the devs, right now I feel like nobody cares for us, and most importantly nobody reads the warrior forums.

Well, thing is, warrior designer died of boredom few months ago, and now they cant find replacement.

I disagree. Why bother replying if you’re going to throw the “Well it’s obvious.” my opinion is irrelevant card. I don’t see the need for a solo queue in a team based game when there’s already another more casual option. Sorry, but if you consider yourself a hardcore solo queue player apparently the definition of the word hardcore is different for me.

You can disagree or not (thats not important). Important is that you have same point of view as devs, and that stubborn view killed tPvP population (we r atm <10% of original pvp population).

Since you have troubles to understand that pvp format ATM killing pvp community , im not gona bother to answer your posts again.

BTW just to add something, im not solo player (i usualy got a team). This was reasons why all my friend left this game, and my sugestion how to bring back all those players who left.

I don’t understand the point of solo queues. If you want to play sPvP solo, you have hotjoin.

Why you bother to reply if you cant understand something so simple??? Please try to read few more times and maybe you can figure it.

Hotjoin is something else (only for glory farm) no one bother to cap or do something its pure zerg. Why would anyone punish me if i dont have full team? Thats why ppl leave this game.

What we had at start?
Few teams and million solo players. Where we get with that?? Atleast 90% players left to other games. Did you ask your self why?

Developers have favored minority (those few teams) from start, it was the worst decision, it was solo players genocide, do i need to remind that solo players r majority and base from where you can gather players for any new team?

My friends all left this game. They loved it but they left. I have 5 GW2 accounts atm. I would like to give them to someone but guess what??? I can not find anyone who wants to play this game.

So why my friends left? Here is the list:

sPvP – stupid game mode (no one care about nodes pure zerg)
Pug vs Premade – unfair, no fun.

What can bring my friends back?

1. Delete HotJoin
2. Give us solo queue

What i would like to see next?

1. Delete Hotjoin (give us solo queue and team queue, two and three man groups can fit in both to prevent long waiting time, but single “solo” player should not play against 5man team)

2. Balance changes (this is most important but in order for population to grow we need to separate premade and solo players first)

And to come back on that pug vs premade thingy: a pug of people with thousands of games in the top tier is likely to win over a premade who only plays a few games then and there. If you can understand that, then you realize that there’s actually an algorithm that can make the occasional pug vs premades balanced, close and fun.

Pug is a Pug = no communication, no teamwork, no premade teamsetup, you can end up with 2 warrior 2 thief and 1 necro in team, you can play without bunker or you can play with 4 bunker in team (its random)

Premade = communication, coordination, team setup etc…

pug vs premade cant be balanced. no way, sorry.

It’s amazing how people can fool themselves, the game is great! we just don’t have enough players. Sure, sure.
It reminds me of that dude who tries to sell the house for 200.000 but can’t, so instead of accepting reality itself, he tries to reason why he cant do it, it must be the economy, you know, the bubble, the employment, etc etc. Sure, sure, just wait 1 year and everything will be fine.
But hey, i’m not ur mother, so if u want to keep playing and believing in the second coming of guild wars 2 pvp, our saviour, it’s ok. I mean, it could be way worse, you could be in a park getting high with LSD.

Second coming?? Why???
This is best game with best mechanics and (soon) best eSport infrastructure.
We dont have player base atm, we dont have any good game mode. To be honest we dont have anything except unfulfilled promises….

But, soon (soon when its done) we gona have cool new Esports features (about which we cant talk until they are ready), we cant talk about that but just be patient as you can see so far we can promise alot, and if you wish we can promise even more.

Let’s face reality: GW2 is dead, worst pve game in the World (with one unfinished and boring game mode, without players).

Lets, just move on….

My condolences. For those who do not know:

GW2 was born dead…. We just did not realize that at the time.

I cant waste more time on this failed game. Buying GW2 was a mistake.

SO CHEESY!

Greatsword + Axe & Shield

  • Really tanky but deals a ton of damage wtf?!
  • Good amount of condition removals
  • Incredibly mobile
  • Insane amount of gap closers
  • Two stuns and two immobilize
  • Very high critical chance

But most importantly…

  • No more Bull Charge + Frenzy + Hundred Blade noobishness!!

Gear: Optimized Mix of Knight’s and Berserker’s Gears

Additional Notes:

  • Arms [X] can be switched out to Arms [VII] (when using a rifle)
  • Defense [V] can be switched out to Defense [I] or [II]
  • Discipline [V] can be switched out to Discipline [I], [III], or [VI]
  • Make sure you use your Axe’s burst skill whenever you can!
  • Use your immobilizes and stuns to set up Hundred Blades!
  • Conserve your endurance. Make them count!
  • SAVE YOUR UTILITIES. Don’t use them all up in one go!

I’m looking for ways to improve this build and am very open to criticism!

Please, try build in tPvP (not in pve or zerg-spvp/www) b4 you post it.

Your build is ultra bad (100b without haste? LoL).

I doubt you can kill anyone (unless you find someone AFK).

What are your biggest /facepalm moments in PvP? I charged into a group of 4 players who were trying to finish capping a point. I had 3 others behind me so figured 4 on 4 would be a good fight. I was playing a full glass cannon Dual Axe Warrior just cause its fun sometimes to get away from the GS or Hammer builds. I immediately hit axe 5 cause they didnt seem to see us coming and they were grouped up. I figured I would do as much damage to the group as possible and then we would start picking them off one by one. I was insta gibbed. When they stomped me every single point of damage I received was from retaliation.

L2P, Dual Axe Warrior is ultra bad (even for PVE).
