I need character advice for WvW. I have Reaper, warrior and herald. I want to play Reaper character with greatsword. I want to play character only dps. So I do not want the condition or any other build. Warrior is undecided with hammer + greatsword. Or greatsword + sword / shield. Herald is hammer + sword / axe / shield. But which character is better for WvW roaming? Especially in solo games. I need your recommendations and an up-to-date build. See you.

2) Your opinion, based on your post, seems to matter but no one else’s does. I’m curious to know why this is, and why you seem to know how to play and the OP does not.

Because they’re less defansive then Crusader and healing power is not that important really. With 900-1000 healing power you can heal like crazy.
Wouldn’t you want as much healing power as possible? To get the biggest green numbers? If not, why not?
You can easily sustain enough heal with -+1000 healing power. Druid is a burst healer. We hava too little regen skills. So you don’t need enormous amount of healing power. You just need the certain number of healing power so you can sustain the proper healing at fights. Sure you can go with a pure healing build and pick the right skills and traits for it but as I said you will be missing a lot with this. You can go with pure cleric and magi and increase your healing power but with this you will lose a lot from other stats. At the and you will lack some survivabilty and a lot of damage. On top of that you can go with the nature magic for a little more healing but you will lose spotter -which is one of the most important ranger traits in my opinion- and quick draw. Support is not all about healing. And in my opinion Druid is by far the best support class for WvW right now.
This is my build for WvW. It works great for now. I strongly recommend Crusader stats. With this build in a melee party I can heal like crazy, do a decent amount of damage and become very handy with spotter, aoe cc etc. I don’t recommend you to use cleric and magi. Because they’re less defansive then Crusader and healing power is not that important really. With 900-1000 healing power you can heal like crazy. Zealots are too risky for WvW because you will lack toughness a lot. And Minstrels are useless. Yes Druid is a support class but at the same time it has a great damage capacity. And you don’t want to lose that.

And even there I can go with a spotter druid and do a great job. We got a great spot in pvp thanks to the druid spec. In WvW Druid is the best support class in my opinion. Since I started playing Druid with my guild they don’t want me to go back to my mesmer anymore. It is just amazing. Some people think that they have to play Druid pure support with nomads etc in WvW. Well that’s just wrong. Druid with a good hybrid build, gear and communication is a great addition to the group. You can do decent amount of damage, aoe cc, aoe heal etc. You just don’t know how to play it that’s all…
In WvW its unfortunetly DOA. The staff has good utility but as a weapon its godawful. You will be lucky to get a couple of lootbags when you wipe 50 man. The glyphs being very short range pbaoe means the only way to use them is rushing straight in and the druid doesnt really have the survivability for that. Its also really lacking a constant AoE heal. Guardian and elementalist healer beat it IMO while offering just as good utility in zerg warfare.
I disagree… My first character was ranger but unfortunately I had to quit and rolled a mesmer for my guild because I’m mainly a WvW player. With HoT I started playing with my ranger again and now my guild don’t want me to play with my mesmer anymore. Druid is just amazing in WvW especially in guild raids. Because everyone knows what they’re doing and you’re on ts so they can keep up with your heals easily. Cleric/Berserker hybrid druid with melee group is an unstopable healer. By far the superior against eles and guardians.
I disagree with this thread. I did this event for 3 days just for to get this pet and I finally got it yesterday. It was such a great feeling. I achieved something that I worked really hard for. It reminded me of Gw1 and WoW. I still remember the feeling when I first get my spirit pet with my hunter in WoW. And no they are not just cosmatics in WoW. You guys just want everything in the game instantly. Just try to play the game. Cry for this, cry for that don’t you ever get tired? I will never understand this community…
And please don’t give me the “I’m a WvW player and this is not a cosmetic pet” excuse. This pet is nothing special. You just want it for its skin or you wanna collect pets and you’re giving this “not a cosmatic” excuse. There are much MUCH better pets for WvW. And you can instantly have this pet in pvp. So what do we have here? Pve players. If you’re a pve player and don’t wanna do this, well… why are you even playing an mmorpg?
I’m absolutly shocked with the story in this expension. I just finished it and just waow… I didn’t expect them to create such a good story. Thank you and please keep up the good work for the future expansions as well…
Thanks a lot for this! I really love druid and this combat degen is the only thing i don’t like about it. And yes I agree with other people that it is not only limited to a pve enviroment. It is a problem in pvp and wvw as well. Please fix this.
Well, Druid is really bad at pvp right now but on the pve and wvw side it is pretty good actually. So nope I won’t quit. The only complain I’ve is the ooc astral force problem and even that doesn’t matter on wvw and pve. The only problem I see is pvp.
No. It’s not WoW. It’s GW2. I strongly encourage you to get yourself informed about the meta in PvE, and why we play it like this.

This. I don’t wanna play another mmo with mindless gear grind. That’s why we love and play Gw2. Stop trying to change this. If you want that go play something else. There are a lot of mmos like that out there.
I can’t even play WoW on my laptop right now but somehow I play Gw2 with +40fps even in huge zergs. This game is by far the best optimized mmo I’ve ever seen.
Before Warlords of Dreanor Blizzard didn’t release any new content updates for more than 12 months. What happened? Most of the players continued to pay their sub prices and they basically waited for WoD. Anet is working on an expansion. You don’t even pay any sub price and still you can complain about the lack of new content. Oh god…
I have the exact same problem. But this is not a game bug. This is a pc problem. When you use a button on the keyboard your mouse loses focus. I don’t know why. So there is my solution. I know this is not a perfect solution but it works. If you’re using a mouse with extra buttons use one of them for move forward. When you do that the focus problem will gone. But remember it is hard to get used to it. This is probebly a hardware problem but i couldn’t fix it.
