Why do u need to do a daily to have fun in the game? i honestly think dailies are what have hindered mmorpg players for last 10 years. People forgot(or never learned) to just play the game and find your fun, not get a list of chores for the day, every day.
Also if you really want the achievement points, getting 3 dailies(to get the AP) takes less than 15 minutes.
Will you swim in the jungle? HOHOHOHOHO
jungles have swamps and lakes . . . .
you can in 2 ways
If you already own an outfit just dye it all one color, then switch to preveiw the other outfits.
or
preview said outfit, then go into trading post and preview dyes. fill all 4 dye slots
Since the aim of the game for many players is to get to the level cap asap and then play the "End Game " whatever that is , why not simply have an “End Game”
No levels.
The entire world is the “End Game”
No levelling needed. That may be fun for some, maybe even a lot of people, but I can’t say it would be for me. There’s a satisfaction to starting powerless and working your way up, to pitting yourself against opponents tougher than you and eventually besting them, to building your character step by step. Giving away the ‘end-game’ would just kill the game, imho.
And what is the end game, in any case? Would you start new players with ascended stuff? Since you propose no levelling, I presume you mean no levelling in the crafting fields either, so anyone can craft ascended straight off.
Just my 2 cents
Games with no levels work perfectly and are arguably way better. Ultima online was the first wildly popular MMO and had no levels(it was a sandbox) You leveled up your skills(there was balance so you couldn’t be OP). Skills like swordsmanship, magic, cooking, parrying, blocking, ect..(think elder scroll games).
you still had to farm/craft better gear, and had to levels your skills to be good at the things you wanted to be good at.
No levels work fine in mmos, just has to be incorporated well. but no, gw2 couldnt suddenly go no levels. that wouldnt make sense for the structure of the game. But some would say going to low level maps and being downleveled helps with the world feeling like no levels exist.
People would dye their underwear skin color to look nekkid and I would be too shocked to play the game.
But i just put skin tight pants on and do that already(as a male char) . . .
I have to disagree 100% with you, ZanchinFissure. I’m not sure where you got your evidence that a “vast amount of the playerbase” dislikes underwater. I, for one, love the underwater bits in GW2. Of all the MMOs I’ve played, it is, hands down, my favorite underwater. It’s pretty and I find it very easy to navigate. So far, I haven’t had any trouble with underwater combat, either. And, when I’m in the mood to avoid combat, I just keep swimming. Honestly, when I swim on the surface, I’m typically never even aggro’d by mobs.
If it’s simply a matter of being able to get from Point A to Point B without combat, why not waypoint?
I’ll qualify all this by saying that I don’t do PvP or WvW. Perhaps those underwater experiences are significantly different from PvE? Is that the bit you find distasteful?
Anet disagrees with YOU. There is a reason they removed the only PvP map with underwater combat, removed the lake in the middle of WvW borderlands, and a reason why none of the Black Lion weapons have had underwater models for like the last 10 sets. It is simply a failure. Underwater combat was supposed to be fun and something different for when you’re under the water, but for all but a few classes it is a chore and underpowered garbage.
It was because it was hard to balance underwater skills with normal skills and anet trying to make this game an esport decided to get rid of it instead of rework it.
Most people also complained cus they couldnt grasp using x y and z axis, it was too complicated for them.
If they reworked it to better have it balanced(and more fun skills) alot of people who thought they didnt like it could like it. i mean how else we gunna fight steven.

As the title says, do finishers (the swishy glowy ball skill to finish off downed players) do anything meaningful?
In WvW I’ve been told they give a better chance at loot, but in PvP I’ve seen no change in score, and there’s no special loot to gain.
Admittedly I don’t have the largest experience with PvP and it could be a reflex players carry over from WvW into unranked, but with so many player’s builds and playstyles focused on surviving for a few moments more or escaping the combat scenario entirely with their downed skills my question stands thusly:Is there a meaningful choice between choosing to using the context prompt finisher or continuing to attack the downed player until they die?
You pick the one you think will upset the other person the most. They don’t do anything else.
tis why i use the rainbow unicorn finisher XD
As much as players may dislike underwater combat, I doubt Anet wants to give the ability to completely negate it.
There’s still players who love underwater combat and would like more content for it, and for it to be reworked so more people can enjoy it again. The vocal majority may have said their distaste for it, but vocal majority isnt always majority. plus if reworked people who think they don’t like it might actually enjoy it.
console version wont happen for gw2 lets be real, all we can hope is itll happen for gw3 XD(and cross servers, not 2 different ones)
p2w refers to being able to continuously buy the best gear and boosts in game with real money
hot is an expansion for a Buy to play game, its not p2w its b2p(with a core free trial)
Why not just have our people fly too, those hills are pesky and mess with our camera
make your character now and buy a total make-up kit(but don’t use it till hoT). there supposedly will be new stuff from hot, but not for initial character creation.
Since they added the new aoe boundry limit, aoes on a controller ar a lot easier and can easily be done while running. just takes practice.
controllers work perfectly in gw2 for everything except chatting and inventory /selling/buying
combat wise though its perfect
Never give up! Never surrender!

Profession armor, racially styled would be my preference. A Charr Warrior should not look like a Human Warrior etc. The armor would most likely meet all the same requirements we have now but be customized to reflect a profession’s style/theme and gain a restriction for that profession.
Dare I mention outfits as well?
At least for crafting…it might be nice with options to automatically switch to our preferred outfit(s) when we activate a crafting table.
They have racial armor in game already
I.. before my thread got moved to THIS IRRELEVANT topic… specifically asked for dev input as to the reasoning
This is demanding a Dev to answer ….
Could it ever have occurred to you that maybe, just MAYBE, that it is story related – Heart of THORNS —- Mad King THORN – and maybe, just MAYBE, it ruin the surprise if they let the cat out of the bag too soon about it?And see here is the problem with moving my thread to this irrelevant one. You don’t have context… I politely asked with respect and was very very soft spoken with it. I said please multiple times. I thanked them for all their hard work. I explained the reasoning why me and many others wanted to know… at NO POINT was I rude or demanding.
I’d say you were rude to people responding to you with their theories on why its the 23rd.
you also clearly said that no one should reply if they are not a dev.
(also you cant really be soft spoken in text, ’’polite" would of been a more correct term.)
My guess is halloween has to do with Hot story line and therefor cant be sooner. where as Gw1 is just a halloween event.
When the game first came out there was profession specific pieces(starter item), it’s better how it is now
Plus not everyone want their character to look like there stereotypical look, more freedom is better
staff 5 would fit as a leap finisher imo but its already so strong /=
if you staff 5 off a cliff u dont move forward at all lol you just fall, trust me i do it a lot XD i wish it was considered a leap though lool but ya def more of whirl finisher

I literally just run around in circles at the grove waiting to play my main.
I’m not concluding that it’s too strong based solely on cherry picked footage, but on the personal experience I got from the class. (angz)
LOL so you post a cherry picked screenshot from a custom match?
There were plently of rev’s killed a lot during the beta, good players will always be good, that doesnt suddenly make the class op. some popele making it sound like the strongest class in the game, which it is not. not even top 3.
Not even top 3?! Not push the thing too much man! I love the revenant but let’s admit that he need some tweeks. Particulary in Mallyx and Jailis. Glint is too much powerfull and make revenant useless compared to the power of the legend (the heal is borderline op too… The shield 5 has the same effect but more visible and less healing). I really love the theme and feeling of revenant. But for now, for me it’s clearly incomplete. You can only play two legend on 5 (well maybe 3 using ventari on raids). Mallyx, with the changes, don’t serve too much and as no really role designed and jalis is less tanky than glint (thing that’s normaly don’t must be) and a no real tanky feeling. So for a class versatile you’re already a mix of guardian (with glint) and thief (with shiro) and can’t really be nothing more before Mallyx and Jalis get a real role. I expect Glint to be nerfed, she carry alone the revenant power by 2000% (particulary the healing) and other legends buffed and reworked a little for obtaining the real role they must have. Revenant can be really awesome, having toons of options to play. But for now it’s not like this. It’s just a Guardian/thief borderline op. And don’t tell me it’s not strong please. He has pretty good dps, insane sustain, evade.. particulary coz of glint healing. This thing must be nerfed, or at least having a more visual effect.
I repeat again i really want to see some love for Mallyx and Jalis. Glint is just absurdly overpowered compared to other legends, and classes in general for now, doing too much things at the same time, for a same legend (tank, dammage, support).
wvw wise(roaming/small gorup) – elememtalist, mesmer, theif are all stronger then rev. with other classes being same if not better than rev.
Good players will always be better than bad players, regardless of class.
you sound like your talking about solo play, not team play, which obviously solo a pure healing build would only be reactive to dps, but as a team its very effective. also druid is about burst healing not slow sustain healing. (thats what ventari is). i do agree with you that healing is reactive compared to defensive boons , but thats not a bad thing when as a team, everyone gets hit.
no one is saying druid can solo fight and win as a bunker. but as a duo(or more) it is a force to be reckoned with.
I think a big problem people are having is trying to force the old meta into the new one, when we dont even know how the new meta will be once everything is done being balanced. Play any game, the meta changes, it wont always be the same thing. some people just cant adapt and cant do as well and complain.
Zev, my biggest worry right now is how easily CAF is spotted and focused down by the other team (like a necromancer in Lich Form, without the health bump). CAF doesn’t have any personal defense. We probably won’t be able to camp it either after CAF generation is tweaked—it’s going to be situational burst healing that currently has higher risk than reward (given the ease of focusing down a Druid in CAF, and a dead druid deals no heals
).
Thats why its a team game. classes arn’t balanced around 1 vs 1.
Get a team of a druid, guardian and 3 dps :p (2 support, 3 damage)

You also have to take in consideration that Rev is new and people dont know what it even does or how it plays (not everyone has Hot)
theres also people trying new builds with all the balance changes or trying the elites for the first time. concerning glints heal(which is perfectly balanced) alot of people arnt use to having to not endlessly attack something in pvp(no warrior uses deviance stande, which needs a buff btw) Once people learn not to attack it wont seem as strong
you can get quartz through the map event reward thing they are introducing when Hot comes out.
On normal maps btw not the hot ones(maybe hot ones too, i dunno)
those 4 guys were horrible(no offense) they just kinda walked(yes walked) around throwing like 1 attack at him a minute. at one point you see 2 of them just standing there doing nothing.
Because “ideal” is what? Meta? lol
Ideal stats depends on what you intend to do. This is why there are Bunker, Burst, etc.
And I see a lot of comparing to Guard who doesn’t have to give up stats? Okay then let’s compare it to Cleric or a Soldier Bunker Guard. Since we’re talking about sustain and not trying to compare apples to oranges. (Boons to Heals).
I think you guys should play a bit longer before you rush to think you know 100%. Give Druid some time and see how it works in “the meta” since that seems to be such a big deal.
Also agree with Shoe, AgitatedFox, and Zev. ^.^
Pardon for my being off subject.
Candyhearts, you are mixing up PvP and PvE “meta”. (I would also like to add that META stands for Most Efficient Tactics Available—nothing more, nothing less, and certainly nothing nefarious. There will always be a meta, since some builds will always be more powerful than others. This is not a bad thing, as you are suggesting, but it is inevitable due to game balance.)
While I only have 10 hours on Druid, I have a thousand hours on base Ranger. I have 430 hours on my PvP bunker Guardian. As it is, Druid has no shot of replacing any of the current successful bunker classes save for organized team fights (though from my experience in WvW, it is easy for the other side to spot when you enter CAF and focus you down in a hot second). This is because Druid focuses solely on reactive healing, rather than proactive defense.
A single, well-timed Aegis can negate essentially infinite spike damage (in this case, my Guardian’s entire health bar, or about ~17k HP). Protection can negate 33% of damage entirely. You can run these defenses while maintaining full offensive pressure. Healing Power is not required for either of these boons, which individually can negate far more damage than healing can recover. Good bunkers do not rely solely on healing, because there is no such thing as slow, sustained damage in PvP—unless you are fighting another bunker build (a fight during which both bunkers will largely remain at 80+% health indefinitely). (Also remember that many classes deal bonus damage to enemies below 50% health—if you take 50% of your HP in damage very quickly, they can spike you for more even quicker). No matter how amazing the Druid’s healing is, it is always one step behind the class dealing the damage, and therefore at the mercy of the damage-dealer. After all, healing is useless UNTIL you take damage. For a class with medium armor and a medium-tier health pool, this is risky business without active damage mitigation.
Because Druid also has very low DPS if it aims to run a Healing Power build (in PvP, pet damage is easily negated by strafing, stealthing, or simply CCing the pet), it cannot defeat other bunker builds. It also cannot defeat spike damage builds before a good spike damager can kill them (especially considering base Druid’s lack of stunbreak and its very conditional condition cleansing). Traditionally, ranger survives in PvP through mobility, heavy spike damage pressure (which forces other spike damagers to retreat temporarily), and instant condition cleansing+CC through the Wilderness Survival trait line. The Druid line does not end our reliance on any of these things for survival, and adds a new state (CAF) where we are completely vulnerable to damage WITHOUT putting any pressure on our enemy (or minimal pressure, now that Irenio has said he will add minor damage to CAF skills).
I am not trying to be insensitive, and I am happy that people enjoyed Druid as-is. But it has too many weaknesses right now to even be on-par with base Ranger in most situations, and I abhor the idea of having Druid be a one-trick pony whose only purpose is to play whack-a-mole with allies’ health bars. Even if it is not ’zerker meta, healing meta will get very old, very fast. Druid needs more active, dynamic play that accounts for a variety of situations—including situations that require DPS—and it needs more synergy with base Ranger and the pet in order to “fit” with the Ranger class more comfortably.
you sound like your talking about solo play, not team play, which obviously solo a pure healing build would only be reactive to dps, but as a team its very effective. also druid is about burst healing not slow sustain healing. (thats what ventari is). i do agree with you that healing is reactive compared to defensive boons , but thats not a bad thing when as a team, everyone gets hit.

a good Mesmer will spike you for 15k on 3k armor
this is silly. it really doesn’t matter what class you are playing if you let a burster burst you.
we might as well say ‘a good Druid will daze you continuously’ and it would be about as relevant.
good interrupt mesmers will pop you for that much out of stealth, you cant see it coming. you need to be able to survive that, and whatever follows after.
getting dazed a few times is not the same as getting dazed, interrupted and spiked for 15k.
Going to echo what people have said a few times. That is anyone. Not just druid. So it doesn’t really belong being discussed here.
if by echo, you mean parrot, go right ahead. im totally on topic. you think you can run clerics in pvp, and I’m telling you that you cannot because 15.9k HP because instagib.
when I made a thread suggesting that rangers become a high HP prof, you should have supported that. then we could run settlers, rabid, cavalier, zerker and clerics in pvp. currently, you cannot. in fact, you cant run anything other than marauder, valk and celestial. not effectively, not successfully.
I kinda feel your issue is a “learn to play” issue, if you think anything that has 15.9k or lower hp is ineffective in spvp
cleric amulet is absolutely useless in conquest. a good Mesmer will spike you for 15k on 3k armor. that’s basically all of your HP. now imagine getting focused by 2 or 3 people. this is what happens in top tier of play. once your SoS is gone, given that you have no reactive stab or on-demand prot, your cleric druid gets insta popped.
celestial amulet with grove rules worked quite nicely, but damage wasn’t quite there. with a significant buff to Warhorn’s damage, this could change. s/wh/staff synergized beautifully.
Hows that different than being any other class or spec and being targeted by 3 people lol. Its a team game. also looks like your going for a balanced build instead of pure support. I played stronghold for hours last weekend and as a duo of cleric druid and zerk rev we did amazing. not saying it’l work well for everyone, just saying it worked well for us.
Obviously everything has a counter and theres not a win all button. game needs more support roles though
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO yes please
or Baroosh legend. i know hes still alive but still, he’s a kitten quaggan
That’s a matter of opinion, really.
There are quite a few types of gear that have healing on it. And with the ability to mix and match to get your desired stats it’s all about us choosing to make it a GOOD design for ourselves.
Even if I wanted to grab extra ascended gear when no other profession needs healing power at all (literally any other stat can be useful to every profession, it’s just healing power that’s worthless), just try doing that in PvP.
You’re joking right?
I don’t even wanna continue from here.
You can’t get ideal stat combinations that have healing power in PvP. The amulets for that don’t exist. How is that a joke?
Whats ideal stats to you? Cleric amulet worked just fine all weekend long and kicked butt as a TEAM. Your not playing druid to solo fight in spvp, and if you are well then thats just not very smart.
I think your problem is your not understanding druid is a support spec not a op damage dealing healer. it’s called balance, and clearly your not the type who likes to play support.
Why is this thread still being discussed? This from Roy pretty much closed the topic:
The problem is that they are balanced around having 1 skill bar and not 2 for the right half of your bar. They are also not made with energy in mind and would need to be changed to work with revenant, but would muddy the purity of each legends skill set playstyle. I thought I had mentioned it before on one of the initial streams, but racial skills won’t be usable on revenant.
/thread
because we dont agree with it not being able to work, especially since we dont have any other customizable utilities. Revenant is getting totally screwed in the utility department
no racials(understandable, but just feel like laziness not to include them in a way)
like 8 LESS utilites than EVERY other class, sure we can use 6 in a fight, but other classes can use way more skills in a fight than us.
:( but jumping puzzles are the best
I’m on Tarnished Coast with is T2 atm and was T1 for a long time
people in this thread are claiming that thats where the most action is, they are wrong . . its where the most zergs are.
I prefer to roam and just fight on the map, T1 and T2 are super boring for roamers, you either find a zerg, a guy who just runs away or occasionally a fight(very rare)
I’m guessing small group to you OP is 3-10 people, if you find a good server let me know lol, but i do not recommend the higher tiers for anything than zergfests.
Horns were finally added . . lets hope bunny ears are on their way too!
Guys I’d like racials as much as anyone else but they really are problematic, particularl for ventari. Some races have racial healing skills. If you slotted Prayer to Dwayna on ventari’s heal you wouldn’t even be able to use the tablet at all
Well then that would be kind of dumb for you to do wouldnt it :P
Oh that vest is both on the human and charr(its similiar) id hope that some these if available werent just one race, cus id want that vest on my sylvari lol
but obviously some would have to be like syvari leaf ones, and norn animal ones.
maybe anet should kitten a new cultural armor(town clothes) to a vendor and sell these
On most of my characters pre NPE I got ambushed by a group of enemies saying “Remember [your mentor]? You’ll be with them soon” or something similar.
I haven’t received one of a levelling character for ages. Was it removed? if so, its a shame because that was one of my favourite events in the game.
I recently did my personal story, and had the enemy boss say this right after the first claw island, when i was defending Lions arch. I was in the priory and my guess is its in that first faction part right after claw island.
I’ve had this problem, but its always when my sound will go out first and even if i minimize the game the sound is playing. It’s not the normal song too and theres no sound effects.
then when i go to ecit the game my pc crashes and i have to reset.
They should kill it imo. Its original purpose was supposed to be a testing ground for us WvWers but things like golem week prove that they don’t even care. As long as it remains while unique and cool in its design is a worthless imitation to all serious WvW players. We all view it as the easy place to karma train(which we don’t need) and uplevel city.
I think it should just be scrapped and with HoT leave only 2.1 maps in existence: Eternal Battlegrounds, The Desert Oasis, and Obisdian Sanctum (for larger GvG’s?)
The last thing they need to do is remove content, that’s never a good idea
also is real intent was an overflow map for people waiting to get into WvW. It’s also a way to play with people in your guild or friends who arn’t in the same server(since the megaserver)
and eotm is way more fun than WvW(imo) just for the falling off the edge, its just pure fun.
but lets not derail the thread, i just want to know if there will be anew one or not.
If you listen to the guy in LA he tells you the rumor about each race being a dragon’s minion( i cant remember his name, but hes just up the hill from the south docks)
Humans are Zhaitans minions
Sylvari are Mordemoth
norn is jormag
Asura is primordus
charr is kralkatorrik
Theres more than just rangers getting taunt now, but i actually have never had an issue with pets taunting me lol(i didnt even though they could)
Rev gets taunt too and i love it lol, some people just have issues when things are new and they don’t know how to counter yet.
Instead of limiting to one key a week . . .
Why not just change Tomes of Knowledge to not work on characters under level 10.
No, you’re not the only one who wants it. But I think there are far more players either don’t care/don’t know about it. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/The-Cantha-Thread-Merged/page/54
But if they did, they would want it . . . also not everyone comes on the forums.
It would be dumb if you waited and did the story all in one day and got the key on level 10 but not at level 40 story part
Honestly, i’d rather have them spend time adding 1 utility per legend than add racial skill you’ll only use 3 times in a year in pve.
But those are just my 2 coppers.
Yes i’d rather have this too, just feel like we need one or the other atleast
Rev is way too simplified and predictable atm.
