i’d be happier waiting another year if they stuck to fixing bugs and balancing, and able to pump those out faster.

Last time this type of game-wide lag that caused crashing happened, I got Dishonorable. I submitted a ticket about it, they didn’t respond until the debuff wore off only to tell me there is nothing they could do about it. I tried asking for some form of “compensation” (lol), since it was through no fault of my own, they said no. My suggestion is to forget about doing solo or team que tonight.

1. Burst elementalist. I don’t always pay ele, but when I do, I prefer a burst ele (either staff or scpt/d or scpt/f) to compliment me (d/d support). It’s really a beautiful thing how well these two compliment each other. I’ve won more than I’ve lost when this combo occurs. I think the problem is that there are more burst ele’s than support, as most people prefer to “wrek kitten” than support the team.

Edit: it could cause so much rage if this was in pvp and should probably stay out of it. Yes it’d be*nice* to have decent stab outside of elixirs, but with the many blinds and cc at our disposal, not really needed.

If auto attacks didn’t do condition damage, I think I’d be happy.

Yep, same here. I had a feeling something like this would happen but I didn’t think it would keep me from logging in completely. Hoping it’ll be fixed soon. Now I have to gasp go outside! lol

Ok I don’t usually post but….I don’t know how long the op has followed the game, but if you have for a while you would realize that big changes, such as class balancing and pvp stuff, are done little by little. It’s their whole philosophy on balancing that they’ve stated from day one. I’m honestly surprised so much has been done already.

Also, you do realized some patches are purely for bug fixing and story content right? This patch is one of those. I’m not sure if the balancing patches even come out monthly. Ostrich-eggs once said in a stream that you all act like a bunch of spoiled children when it comes to this game. He’s right. Stop throwing a tantrum in the store that basically gives you stuff for free.

That’d be interesting but I don’t think it’s going to happen. If SD did shoot at the target regardless of the tool belt’s function there would be no defensive/offensive trade off. Like you could go with an HGH build and get great burst while giving yourself might and cleansing a condition. Would I love it? Hell yeah. But I don’t see that happening. I believe they intended it to work the way it does now.

I see no problem for this to be implemented in custom arenas. (Like my opinion matters lol) Why not? Anything outside of customs, no.

Hallarious. All I do is PvP. I don’t WvW, I hardly ever go out of the Mists besides to LA occasionally. Why would I intentionally ruin the only part of the game I enjoy? Gotta put your thinking cap on before you post next time.

Yup! Happened to me tonight as well. First time I’ve gotten this “debuff”. Submitted a ticket, but not sure it’ll do anything. Huge disappointment tonight.

So I lagged out during a match again and came back to the Dishonorable debuff. #pwned

Super lag as of about 10 minutes ago. Seems to be happening everywhere, not just in pvp

Major lag and crashing a few min ago along with everyone in my match on Spirit Watch.

The thing that’s helped me the most with solo que is being proficient on more than one type of character. That way if my team is lacking in a certain roll, I can switch (if they all go into the arena right away at least). Most people like the high glory producing dps rolls so most of the time when I switch its to a bunker class.

I’ve tried to make sd work for p/s and p/p. It’s just not the same. The immob from rifle 2 is crucial for getting your burst off. And jump shot will destroy people in its own right.

I would like pvp exclusive gear that could be taken out into the pve/wvw world. It’d be nice to have people wonder where I got the cool looking gear and perhaps bring more population into the arenas.

Honestly, this wouldn’t even be a problem if we had skins a bunch more skins that were exclusive to each PvP and PvE. Instead of having two paths to the same thing and people grinding their way through the path of least resistance, you’d instead have people using their special armor or weapon as a trophy for conquering a certain objective in a certain mode. Same issue with WvW and the fact that it needs something exclusive to it other than the Invader set.

The recent issue with the Flamekissed gem armor comes to mind.

I want both. I want to be able to go into candy land (pve/wvw) and have people wonder where I got the cool looking gear I received from pvp. Who know, maybe it’ll boost the population for pvp. I’ll check out that thread though.

So what could be changed without making it op? For me, I would like a short duration of negative cc duration. I’m talking like, 3 seconds of -33% duration to immob, stun, knockdown, etc.

I use this I on my sd build. Do you know if it will remove blind or just make you immune to blind, leaving you blinded if it’s already applied to you?

As to your comments, it’s a nice stun break but I wish it had more functionality on the toolbelt side (vuln is kinda meh). It’s pretty useful though against thieves on an sd build as it helps you burst then down a lot easier when you take their blind away. Actually it’s quiet hilarious when they suit in their blind circle expecting not to get hit and then they explode lol.

Lol good to see this subject pop up again. It’s always fun discussion. There are a few reasons I target the other engi when I can but the biggest one for me is I’m curious about when he’s running and how good he is. People that main engi are kinda funny like that.

Bunker engi is good but I’m not sure how viable it is in team que and I definitely don’t think they’re game breaking. Certain builds simply can’t kill it by themselves which I’m guessing it’s where most of the whining comes from. Especially the condi spam type of builds because once AR kicks in, the engi can eat the main dmg and heal back up.

It’s unlike any other map (thank goodness) and requires certain builds and a different play style. I’ve seen all classes do well on it, some more than others. I’d say just suck it up and adapt. Keep a character set up for Skyhammer and switch to it if the map pops. Why make your team suffer because of incompetence?

Regardless of “pent up frustration” or any other excuse, there really is no excuse for being a jerk. Those same people flaming you would probably flame you regardless just because they lost.

That being said, it’s pretty much the same thing in any online game so suck it up and deal with it!

EDIT; and don’t start with the “he cussed at me waaa” idiocy. If it’s that big a deal the turn on the profanity filter. Just remember, most people are jerks (most people are stupid too), just gotta deal with it and stick with the good ones.

I really love the build, Chaith, and been using it for a while. Up until the patch, I’ve been seeing more people run it and variations of other power builds, but I think we’ll probably see a decline in power engis after the patch :/.

It’s not completely tested out yet but so far I’m really liking the smoke bomb when disabled and using rocket boots through that smoke field for stealth. Tons of fun lol. So far, huge success against warriors and guardians.

any changes on how turrets act when your last target stealths?

Maybe stick Pistol 3 towards the beginning of the rotation since it hits rather hard and it’s difficult to get all the shots to hit at range.

Five Guages’ power engi build is pretty good for team fights (as long as the Warrior hasn’t popped stability). Pull the warrior into your team as you’re moving on the point, circle Slick Shoes around him, then proceed to dps the poop out of him. 1v1 is a bit tricky for me so far. A condi build would probably do better. Also (and surprisingly) turrets 1v1 lock down Warriors pretty hard since they usually don’t have enough stunbreaks to get out of all your cc. The thing that sucks about that one is turrets in a team fight are bad. This might be fixed once turrets attack your target, we’ll have to see.

Five Guage is a good one. I’m not sure if he streams but I’m pretty sure you can find him in some videos and tournament recordings. Ostricheggs is fun to watch and streams all the time. He also plays a warrior build that not a lot of people are using, which is kind of nice to see. Chaith is another good one. There are probably a lot of unknown good engis out there, as the class is one of the more complex ones to master.

Instead of punishing people for leaving even more, introduce a proper reward system. Increasing amount punishments while giving no rewards is best way to make sPvP abandoned.

Good point, so I retract what I said about penalties. Worthwhile rewards should definitely be priority. If that doesn’t work, then try penalties

Another ready button before the match starts. Maybe an “are you still there” button after 30 seconds -1 minute of no movement. Also a much stronger penalty if you are not present at the end of a match.

Maybe a “king of the hill” mode instead? They could make a crown finisher for this lol.

My team needs practice against organized teams. Badly. I’m looking for any scrimmages for Thurs, 9-10 CST; Sat, 9:15-10:15 CST; and Sun, 8-9 CST.
