I really like the LS2 music as well. Fits each episode very well, atmospheric with memorable melodies. Keep up the good work!
I’d rather they take as much time as they need and do it right.
Personally I like Skyrim>GW1>GW2.
The Skyrim soundtrack is very atmospheric and had some amazing new melodies as well as remixes of old one.
GW1 soundtrack is kinda less sophisticated, but still great.
GW2 soundtrack felt like it had no focus, there’s still a few good ones but on average it’s not great.
As for the “new” GW2 soundtracks I don’t like any of them. Sounds cheap/modern. Which I guess fits the current GW2 perfectly. But to each his own.
For some great Asian “imitations”, check out Neal Acree’s works for Mists of Pandaria. As an Asian myself I must say I like them very much.
For example

Must +1 to this
Well, I didn’t encounter any bugs. That’s a HUGE improvement over past LS updates.
The good:
The dialogues are nice, new areas are nice, cutscene is ok.
The bad:
Main content is a boring zerg fest, new armor released to gem store and blue looks weird.
Overall I’d say it’s one of the better LS updates. But that’s not saying much.
One of the cornerstones in GW2 philosophy is this: Gems doesn’t grant you increased in-game power in anyway.
This new pick is an apparent violation of this important philosophy. It is one more thing I’ll use to tell people to stay a way from this game. Another addition to the long list of fiascos ANet has pulled on its playerbase.
Different computers for different folks. Anyway, I don’t think ANet should NOT put out content based on people who have subpar computers.
My i5-3570 and AMD 7850 gave me 10 fps. I know they are not top end, but I’d say they are decent. At least for any other games I’ve played I’ve never had fps issues.

By its conclusion, Season One will have been developing for 15 months. What ArenaNet wanted to create was a complex plot that kept people theorising and speculating in the same way a show like A Game of Thrones (and the book series A Song of Fire and Ice beyond that) does – to have “people realise what the power of having a video game that can tell a story like a television show is”.
Really?
Just. kittening. Really?
If this was supposed to market your game, it did exactly the opposite.
I now know you are quite satisfied with this sorry excuse of a story we have.
I can now safely abandon the dream that GW2 will ever have a story I actually enjoy and never look back.
EDIT:
“It’ll be really fun in three months when the ending happens for those people to be able to stand up and say, ‘I got it right! I nailed Game of Thrones!’”
He obviously thinks they are comparable.
When I want to paint something and fail badly, I do not say anything at all about the painting of Mona Lisa.
I would not talk about how I want it to have the same emotional effect on people as Mona Lisa in any way.
I would simply be too ashamed to say anything remotely related to painting.

Is this ten ton something website a big deal? Never heard of it.
Maybe I should go and award GW2 some random award. People will rage over it regardless.
be grateful for what we ARE given already, folk.
We, as the paying customer, have every right to voice complaints when the product fails to meet our standards.
It’s a business relationship and ANet’s not a charity. We have no reason whatsoever to be “grateful”.
When the product is of quality, we the customer show support by paying. When the product is a baby cat, we publicly announce how bad it is and finally proceed to leave without a backward glance.
Simple as that.
Oh, I must have missed that part of the box that said that I would get new updates every second week all year around.
When I bought the game I didn’t see anything at all about any kind of updates after release, but I suppose that might have changed since then.
That is the business model they chose. I care only about the quality, not the frequency of updates.
Video games are not food which you cannot live without. It’s like desserts. One delicate desserts every couple days which cost not too much and I’d be extremely happy. Eating desserts that are free but taste like kitten every 2 min, I’d just puke.

You are assuming this game has a future beyond 2015.
The world and the music.
A shame the rest of the game is on a different level..
I don’t even really play anymore and it’s decisions like these that remind me of why I stopped.
Logged in just to quote this.
This game is just not worth my attention anymore.
You will absolutely see a way to create a precursor available in the future. As detailed in our plans for the second half of the year here:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/looking-ahead-guild-wars-2-in-2013/
As mentioned at the end of the blog, as always things are subject to change as test and prepare various systems. Most of the stuff covered in the blog you’ve already seen implemented, or steps towards being implemented, however the precursor building (and corresponding additional legendary items) is the one highest at risk to not make it this year.
It is still something we absolutely plan to do!
We understand the carrots in front of you are getting old.
Here’s a new carrot.
We still plan on letting you actually take a bite.
We can’t say when.
This one for example, probably my favorite
http://bitshare.com/?f=eorqgn3q
If you like Jeremy Soule you should check out GW1 and Elder Scrolls 3/4/5 soundtracks. I personally like them better, Skyrim’s really amazing.

I dint see how people think the mats for the best weapon in the game should be easy to get
I mean. Come on, not everyone can have the best.
Also. The mats aren’t all that bad honestly. I get tons of ascended mats just from chain running cof paths.
Everyone had very easy access to the best until this patch.
For people who farm the mats are nothing. For people who don’t farm the mats are outrageous.
the free gems thing was for the 1mil facebooks likes that they failed to get
Good to hear that retracting my like for GW2 on facebook had some effect. lol
Well, I’m hoping there’s some story involved.
Why is he stronger? Especially post-Zhaitan’s ‘death’ (if this particular release is still following the timeline of the others).
I wasn’t expecting any for SAB and they snuck some into there, so I’m hoping there’ll be at least some story involved with him, rather than just “AAAH, he’s stronger!!”.
After watching the final cinematic for the recent WoW patch dealing with the year long story arc of for MoP, I’m so freaking jealous of that game. Say what you want about WoW, their storytelling is light years better than what we get with the Living World. A five minute cinematic was more interesting than everything that happened all year in GW2.
The storytelling in MoP really improved a lot compared to past expansions. Not that it’s George Martin level, but it’s pretty cool imo. I can only hope for a similar leap for GW2, but I’m not holding my breath.
He just grinded his ascended gear.

Better than anything ANet will come up with.
Wow, true that. Let’s face it: Arenanet has a talent in finding talents. Art-wise this company was always beyond bliss, one of its best.
amen.
There was a recent consolidation of threads about Ascended into a 20 page thread that I can no longer find.
You can’t find that thread because, after 20 pages of comments (and not a single response from anyone at ANet) it was deleted. That thread is gone, completely ignored.
You are right, Vayne. This game has changed. It is as though I went into a restaurant and ordered filet mignon, then in the middle of the meal, the waiter came back, took away the filet mignon and gave me tuna noodle casserole.
Not quite an accurate analogy those. The fillet mignon is still on the menu.
The hearts are still there. The dynamic events are still there. The dungeons are still there. WvW is still there.
All the things the game lauched with are still there (except there have been some major improvements, including stuff like being able to preview weapons in the marketplace, the account wallet, and the culling fix).
This stuff wasn’t taken away from the game and people still play and enjoy it.
What happened was you paid for a meal, you ate the meal and now the restaurant has expanded and offered a whole lot of different meals that you don’t like.
People do play this game and ignore the daily and have fun. You can eat your steak if you want.
Except the people who order new stuff are now taller than you. By 0.5 cm. But still.
Never really bothered with dailies. If I wanted dailies I’d have played WoW.
The whining is incredible. I suggest you all get jobs/lives outside of the game and then maybe you won’t feel compelled to “grind” out an ascended version of every weapon you have immediately.
“You mean I have to PLAY this game more to get a better item?! This is unacceptable, Anet is screwing me.”
To Anet: thank you for introducing some more progression I can work towards on my character, I like the fact that the materials for ascended weapons come from a variety of different game elements. I’m sorry for all the entitled children on this forum, but I’m sure you know they don’t represent the majority of players.
Try reading the post before you reply. But then I don’t think you are really interested in understanding what other people are thinking.
Let’s take a look at the materials needed to craft an Ascended Greatsword and how hard it is to get them before you even reach level 80
You forgot about Dark Matter.
And that people usually have more than one weapon.
And, more importantly, that the point behind ascended weapons is that players are not meant to be able to get them before they reach level 80. Otherwise, ArenaNet’s comment about how it should take time to get ascended weapons wouldn’t make sense.
They were added to the game with the purpose of being a grind.
Yes, my mistake. But to get to 500 Weaponsmithing you need to craft exotics, salvaging those exotics should give you enough Dark Matter for a few Ascended Weapons.
Of course players are using multiple weapons, I use 9 ONLY on my Guardian (I regularly use all Guardian weapons) and to make them all Ascended it will take me years?
However, by the time you reach 80 with a level 1 character it’s not unreasonable to have nearly everything you need for an Ascended Weapon, provided you didn’t “fast” level. I wanted to point out that simple fact. Also, by definition it’s not a “grind” if you are doing unique and different tasks (like all dungeon paths) to get it. Doing the math, it’s clear that players don’t need to grind their favorite paths/champions for their Ascended needs, the system is “build” specifically not to need that.
Even so, for the Ascended weapons you are “grinding” nearly everywhere you want. Take for example Volcanus or Foefire’s Essence, those require “grinding” on a very specific part of the game. Also, most of the materials for Ascended weapons can come from a level 2, while the other high-end weapons require level 80 characters for their most expensive part (lodestones). It’s the same with Legendaries, they require specific grinds to make, to get the materials you want. I’ll take the Ascended type “grind” over the previous type of “grind” any day. At least I can get my Ascended Weapons by playing HOW I WANT.
You forgot the hundreds of laurels and ectos for the trinkets. Then the armor. 6 pieces.
Now you see the problem?
Lol, more than 13 k views and more than 600 replies. I hope Anet makes more ways to get ascended weapons, crafting is the most boring thing in the game, at least for me. I wish when they release ascended armor it won´t be like weapons. It would be nice if they release some “hard” content and make the armors available through that content and not another grind.
300 replies favorable to ascendend.
I love ascendend.
The people that are happy are busy playing and not complaining on the forums.
Please stop flooding forum with complains! Why does it bother you so much that people have a different opinion of Ascended gear than you do? If it upsets you, perhaps you should be busy playing the game, and not complaining on the forums
Becouse complains flood the forum !
I m in forum to be informed about the game . Only for knowledge. But i see only complains.
You go to dulfy or wiki for information. Everyone by now should know forum is not the place for information lol.
which part of the game you can not play with exotic?
All replies to your inquiries already exist in other threads. Please go back to enjoying your game and leave the forum to us whiners.
I’ll give you a 10 points to consider:
5. GW2 is releasing content updates at the fastest rate of any mmo out in the industry at the moment. It is INSANE how much they’re patching this game. While it is argued that their updates are little more than 2 week long ‘events’, the fact remains that these patches ARE keeping people coming back to check it out, that they ARE getting people to do something new. Updating a game like this is the first I’ve ever heard in the industry so Anet will be ironing out a few kinks, trying to update with more permanent content etc, but for the sheer fact that you have an event every two weeks – it is amazing. Many games don’t receive patches for months and months on end, let alone events or anything. Offline games like Skryim, or even Diablo 3 NEVER receive patches, you’re stuck with what you’ve got. Most of the people complaining don’t realize how spoiled they are.
With a biweekly schedule comes the inevitable drop in quality. Personally I find most living stories leave a lot to be desired and provide little, but that’s just me. If you don’t really care about the story (or lack of) and just want some shiny new content every 2 weeks then all is well. And offline games do get patches. Expansions even.
7. The content you get for $60 is sheer amazing and the gem store is updated frequently, but can be purchased with gold, and often isn’t game-breaking pay to win content so it’s very fair imo. People complain that they add new items to the gem store weekly. The game is free to play, they don’t understand how fair it is.
With the current gold to gem ratio all items in the gem shop will be at a formidable price for new players. A lot of items are also heavily RNG-based. But if you are feeling free with your credit card then no problem. At least stuff in the gem shop doesn’t affect game balance.
9. I don’t think I’ve met a single person who regretted buying this game. Everyone that I know has enjoyed the game. The worst recount that people said was that they got bored at 80, mainly because progression finishes and it comes down solely to playing for fun with friends. If that doesn’t sound good to you then maybe not, but I strongly encourage you to play to 80 to find out.
10. Do it, it is a beautiful game. Even just the campaign mode is worth your $60. Have fun and see you in game
I’d agree that the original content is good enough for the $60. After 80 however comes the true test. If you like running dungeons, wvw, pvp, farming, or shining loot in general you’ll probably like this game. If you have high standards for storytelling and lore I’d suggest you to not waste your time.
I’m a casual player who plays a lot of hours, but I never grind. I just do what I think is fun, when I think it’s fun. Somehow, I get achievements, gold and karma…without grinding. I don’t know how. I just play the game.
I always found this post rather suspect.
I do fine farming on my necro.
Ah, there we go. You do actually grind for materials.
Not that it wasn’t obvious before, but thank you for the open admission.Sorry but you’re wrong. Just because I used a word, doesn’t mean I actually farm. What I do mean by this is that when I’m running an event with lots of people, I get lots of drops.
Now you can say that’s farming if you want…such as running the zone wide events that pop up, but I’m not actually running those events TO farm. I’m running those events because I find them fun.
Some people understand this sort of thing and some don’t.
My comment was that someone said you have to be on X character to farm. I get plenty of drops and kill plenty of stuff on my necro.
Why do I play my necro. Because it’s fun. Why do I do zone events, because I like them. They remind me of the only thing I liked about Rift.
It’s farming, without actually attempting to accumulate materials. I just do what I want, when I want.
If you are not attempting to accumulate materials it is not farming.
interesting (paraphrased)…
just because I said I do something doesn’t mean that I actually do it.
OK…
Farming is a specific thing you do. Do you think I kill stuff and don’t pick up the stuff that drops?
Someone who farms goes to a zone to get something. Like killing sparks to get the things sparks drop. That’s farming. Doing what you want, and accumulating stuff as a side-affect to what you’re doing isn’t farming. It’s doing what you want.
Let’s say I got to Hirathi Hinterlands, because I enjoy the event chains there. While I’m doing the event chains, I’m accumulating karma. I already have 3 million karma. I don’t need the karma. I don’t particularly care about the karma.
So I’m not there to farm karma. I’m there to enjoy the quest chains. The karma comes as a side benefit to what I’m doing.
I don’t know anyone who would call that farming.
Vayne here plays the game. A lot. So he has 2 legendaries and ascended is a joke in comparison.
Some others (e.g. me) hate repetition of any kind. So we have very little gold/mat/currencies. So ascended looks like a huge grind.
Just take a little time and step into each other’s shoes and there’s not much to argue really.
I’m not sure the video is lost. They did make Tequatl flee. Should that give some reward?
More like Tequatl was bored so it smashed the asura laser thing and just left.
Seems like people just want ascended items handed out to them. I enjoy the way they put it out. It makes me want to revisit some dungeons, mini-dungeons, bosses and other types of content to get the mats needed. I like it.
I see some people talking about making the ascended items drop from bosses. Lol, just lol.. with the supereasy zerg-bosses this game has to offer it would be so boring and unchallanging. If u want the boss-drop system to be fun, enjoyabe and rewarding we need 100x harder bosses(instanced raids for example) so when you actually kill the boss you get a chans of drop. But then people would just rage again.
Seems like however arenanet makes things there are ALLWAYS someone complaining and crying like a little child.
Ehh.. They do drop from bosses.
lol.
I like it and everyone who disagrees is a crying little child. You sir are no better than the rest of us who argue for the sake of arguing. Now if only I can figure out why I keep coming back to argue to no avail..
I corrected a mistake someone who is defending my side of the argument did. yet even there you have to see it as a conspiracy. So if you try to be impartial that means you argue for the sake of arguing. geess
Not talking about you, lol.
So grind is based on perspective. Why and what are we arguing here again?

No, your fault wasnt believing that gw2 would be the spiritual successor of gw1, your mistake was believing spiritual means identical.
in gw1 gear didnt matter cause you got done with it very quickly and you never had any new gear that was any more powerful
in gw2 gear doesnt matter cause whatever tier you choose, including common is good enough to do any content you choose.
The spirit of both games, Gear is not important is there. Its just the way that spirit was implemented that is different.
And your mistake here is to believe people would react the same to “getting the best stats is easy” and “getting good enough stats is easy”
That’s not the spirit of GW1, that’s a huge corruption of it’s spirit!
Yes I openly said I made that mistake before, I can find you the post if you want. Its actually far deeper then that. When I played Gw1 I though I’ve finally found a community who didnt care about power, they cared about skill. Turns out some of them actually care more about power then people playing WoW do. That really was a shock honestly!
That’s your mistake there. They didn’t care about power because everyone is on equal footing. Not because they really like to play at a disadvantage and be cool about it.
The people who left, they’re gone. We’ll only see a small percentage of them return. For better or worse, Anet is commited to the direction it chose. But at this point the game seems to be gaining regular players, not losing them.
When they released something of quality and artistic value like bazaar of the four winds I still came back, because I remember the original game as an artwork that I liked.
When they added Deodre’s jumping puzzle I was quite pleased and enjoyed it very much.
When they add this ascended BS and mind-numbing zergs and living no-stories, it severely reduces my fondness of the game and future possibilities of returning.
GW1 did perfectly well for years without VP. When something new came out (e.g. Beyond) I’d go back and play it. Guess it’s my own stupid fault to believe GW2 would be the spiritual successor to GW1.

Feel free to interpret it the way you want.
Leave me to interpret the way I want.
And there are so many things I feel that goes against the spirit of GW1. AW is just the latest.

I NEED HELP!
OK, now that I have your attention, can someone please show me where the required grind is in this game in order to be able to proceed to the next tier of content? I seem to be having trouble finding it. I tried going into WvW without ascended gear and was able to… is there an ascended only WvW? I visited and helped beat Jormag, assorted invasions, dungeons, jumping puzzles, etc. and haven’t been able to find the gated content beyond those that require ascended gear… can someone point that out to me? Because until I find it I’m having a difficult time accepting that this type of optional grind is anyways close to violating the “not a grindy game” concept ANet originally spoke of. Yes, I see optional grindy things for those that want the longer term goals, but the required stuff… I can’t seem to find it. Help me out people!
Only when you go lvl 10 or higher.
So it is not required.
Try againIt is required. For lvl10 or higher.
Your logic…
Going lvl 10 or higher is optional, not required.
And you don’t have to use the weapons they added to finish it.Uh oh, you should probably go back to read what you responded to.
raiding in WoW is optinal, noone says you have to raid. Is there any point in all of this?
WoW is another game. We are talking about GW 2.
Did you read to what I responded? We are still searching for some content that is required to have ascended that you have to grind for. You can play Fractal of The Mists fine without ascended if you pick lvl 1 – 9. And if you do want higher, you don’t need to grind for it.
The point is, people complain first then look/think.It pretty obvious what is the content that is required to have ascended you have to grind for. A 12 % stat difference in WvWvW is very much, and if you can play even without ascendent, it is undeniable that there is a drawback.
This system is identical to the one used on WoW (you can play even without pvp gear, but you suck) and the grind is clearly present in WoW, so if Guild Wars 2 has adopted the same system of WoW you can’t say there is not grind in the game. The only difference is that on WoW you have to grind pvp content to be competitive in pvp, in Gw2 you have to grind pve content to be competitive in WvWvW (which is pretty absurd).
So yeah, in Gw2 there’s a content that is required to have ascended that you have to grind for (unless you want to play a handicap match).
Inb4 the ‘you do just fine in rares’ or ‘wvw was never balanced’ nonsense.
Just to add my two cents, I find crafting unbelievably boring. I never craft in any game and in order to get gear, I need to grind mats over and over, which isn’t that awful because at least you’re interacting with the world and being active.
Then I need to stand in front of a crafting station when I would rather actually be doing actual content – challenging content- to get my weapons. Fractals are meant to be hard content and should reward these items as well as the rest of the jewelry.
On top of that, it looks like we’re going to be forced to craft armour as well. You can’t say that you don’t need to because if you don’t have ascended eventually, you’re just dragging your group down, locked out of high level fractals and locked out of the skins. Add in other ways to get gear that requires actual skill, please. Make it kitten hard.
Thats why they didnt make crafting the only way to get an ascended weapon they also drop from high end content. World Bosses, Champions, Jumping Puzzles, WvW etc… IF crafting is not your think then do one of those other activities that might be more in line with what you enjoy doing.
If the drop rate is anything like for exotics it’ll be bad. Plus you don’t get to choose the stats. Plus it’s account bound.
Nobody asked for a new tier of gear and we CERTAINLY didn’t ask for such ridiculous requirements to create them.
Actually, this is wrong. Some people did, a lot of people did actually so your argument is null and void.
Apparently so many that ANet is willing to throw their manifesto out the window.
And kitten off the ‘minority’ that was drawn to buy the game because of that very document.OR OR …. they figured you know people who say they dont want better gear actually mean they dont want better gear… so lets see some people want better gear other people dont want better gear. Ohh I know lets make said gear entirely optional so the people who want it can have it, those who dont want it can ignore it.
Or I just like to do challenging contents with the best gear available. Like I said before, there are challenging stuff before now (e.g. gauntlet) and coming up (e.g. Tequatl).
did you fail the guantlet without an ascended weapon?
Watching the video of the new tequalt seems to me the key to winning that encounter isnt doing more damage at all.
I did Liadri with rares. That said, with ascended I’d have saved like 50 tickets or even used different strategies.
You can probably do all contents with greens. It’s just like 50 times harder.
And damage is not the only stat. There are defensive ones as well.
@LanfearShadowflame
You’re absolutely right. Sometimes I ask myself why I even bother but there is always that hope that presented with logical arguments perhaps a few people will realise things arent all bad like they imagine.
I dont expect people who hate time-gating to love them just cause they’re keeping far away that next tier of gear they hate more. But I would hope some might come to see it as a necessary evil that isnt all bad… nothing else. We’ll see. Hope is last to die after all.
Or you just find the forums more fun than the game itself. Like me. You know, assume moral and logical high ground and go against the ignorant forum whiners. Good practice for developing language and deduction skills.
Or maybe not.
Nobody asked for a new tier of gear and we CERTAINLY didn’t ask for such ridiculous requirements to create them.

Your logic…
In which you will get naturally by just playing it. I haven’t meet anybody who had to stay on the same level of Fractal and playing it over and over and over again till they got the gear they needed. Everybody I know who went through the fractals, got their gear naturally, without ever having to play the same level over and over and over again. That is why it is not a grind
You get gear naturally grinding WoW raid. So what?
Yes, you get it naturally by GRINDING WoW raid. This is different than getting the gear naturally by going from one level of fractal to the next never having to repeat the same level over and over and over again. In a WoW raid, after you have completed the raid once, the challenge is really gone, you are now just going through the motions to get the gear you needed, with no challenge. In the fractals, you are not stuck on a level grinding it to get the gear needed to be able to play the next level. If you were stuck on the same level to get the gear you need, that level would be easy and no challenge since you already completed it once.
WoW has a grind to continue on to the next challenge, GW2 Fractals have no grind to get to the next challenge.
Dont overexagerate. Once you know what to do in fractal its the same. Fractals arent some ever changing and evolving stuff, its same crap over and over again gated by agony.
It is not just agony that is ramped up, the actual difficulty is ramped up as well. Mobs become more powerful and can have more spawned than the previous times. Mobs can have additional skills they can use. And again, you can complete the first 10 levels and see all the content without ever needed ascended gear, this in contrast to WoW where you have to complete and repeat the same raid over and over and over again in order to see the next raid. In WoW if you want to see all content, you have to grind, in GW2, if you want to see all the content, no grind is needed at all.
WoW has really added a lot of things to cater to the casual end of the spectrum. Raids are not nearly as inaccessible as they were a couple years ago.

Except WoW now has LFR (read: easy) mode and they plan on adding a Friend and Family (read: infantile) mode to the raids. In these modes you can wear rare-equivalent gear and still defeat the bosses.
That makes real raids optional if you just want to see the content, and the situation is again comparable to fractals.
@Galen, you’re trying to bail water out of a sinking ship hun. While you have sound logical points, they aren’t going to listen to you. What we’re experiencing here is (what I like to call) spoiled brat syndrome, and there isn’t a kitten thing anyone can do to fix it, except for the person them self making the mature decision to not be one.
Some people wanted another gear tier, now we have it. BUT it wasn’t given to them in raids, or dungeons, so they aren’t happy. They don’t want to craft it, and open world loot drops (which are extremely rare, but make sense) aren’t satisfactory.
Some people wanted something to make crafting more worthwhile, and potentially more lucrative. However, the new mats are time gated, leveling the playing field, making it so the market cant be flooded, and thus making it easier to create and keep a stable, high price for them. BUT this isn’t good enough because everyone can’t have it all / do it all right now.
Some people don’t like to gather materials, but some of the materials are account bound and simply can’t be purchased. They come from various drops throughout the world, requiring people to play (specific parts of) the game. They feel this is a ‘grind,’ which, in some cases I could understand if you only got 1-3 per drop. However, considering most drops are 10+, I don’t foresee it being ‘grindy,’ although for more time limited players, it will simply take longer to get everything they need. Again, people aren’t happy with this because they can’t just let someone else do the work for them, or they can’t have it all right now.
The actual ascended drops and crafted items are account bound, which pretty much everyone is unhappy with. They want to be able to sell them, after all if they have the gold or the time to make/get them…why shouldn’t they be able to cash in? (sarcasm there)
We, the players, ask for things. Shout gimme gimme gimme, like starving baby birds; however when Anet tries to comply in any fashion, its simply not good enough. I’ve said it many times, but I’ll say it again. They are kittened if they do, kittened if they don’t. They would be further ahead to just make their plans, and go with it. Those that like what they get will stay, and the rest will go. Its harsh, but that’s simply life.
They will not be kittened if they stuck to their manifesto.
You are right about the go part, and there’s nothing harsh about it.
The details of acquiring ascended weapons are secondary. AWs should never have existed in the first place.
Dismissing others’ opinions by calling them spoiled brats is very mature indeed.
Logged into my server every place I went had a tiny handful of people, even the main towns were dead and this was during peak hours. Can’t imagine where these 460k are located.
The sheer number of names on my screen in LA hurts my eyes. The special effects in world events made my eyes bleed. Maybe you need to go to another server.
Gear wars 2 ,Farm wars 2 , Grindwars 2.All of those is what gw2 has become instead of actually having guild wars.A tittle that doesn’t even relate to their game in anyway….
I like Grind Wars 2 the best. Its most fitting
That’s a very fitting name, as long as you preface it with the words “there really isn’t any reason to…”
Stop this nonsense please. Would you do Liadri in all greens? Any time they release anything remotely challenging you’ll want the best gear available.
do you think an ascended weapon would make any little bit of difference on liadri?
lets assume you do 8000 damage every hit. and ascended weapon would give you a 5% advantage over that means you do 8400 damage instead. Which means you save yourself 1 attack every 20 you do. problem is with 8000 damage liadri would die before you even do the 20 attacks.
I wouldn’t give a kitten if all there is to ascended is the weapon. That’s clearly not the case.
As for Liadri, replace that encounter by any new and difficult content. Not that we’ve had a lot of that, but we will likely have some in the future.
Dota2. Mainly so I can enjoy Fails of the week by SUNSfan and Reaves.
Solo queuing can be frustrating sometimes, but it’s no worse than the frustration you get from playing GW2.

Are you claiming that no one beat Liadri in rares?
I personally done Liadri in rares.
I’m saying when you know nothing about the fight, you want the best gear.
Liadri’s not the best example coz of the 1HKlols, but there are challenging stuff to come, e.g. Tequatl.

Even the grindosaurs are complaining about time gating and not about collection of the mats.
Make a new character and play from 1 to 80. Can you make ascended gear when you turn 80? No.
How far are you from full exotics? Not far.
How far are you from full ascended? Months. Not even counting the armors to come.
Now tell me this game isn’t about grinding for gear.
Months? Have you actually look up how to get stuff or did you just read a bunch of wrong posts in this thread? I am a casual player (10 hours a week max) and I can manage it in a month.
The only grind there is in GW 2 is legendary. But hey, there has to be some grinding.
Sure you can earn 180 laurels in a month. Coz that’s how many you need for the trinkets. Not to mention loads of gold to craft the backpiece.
Wait a few weeks and you can buy all the stuff you need at a good prize on the TP. If nobody buys the materials now the prize will drop. That’s how economy works. So if you try to get smarter you will realize that there is no grind needed. You can also buy the lower cheap tiers and upgrade them with the Mystic Forge. I bought my exotic armor with the loads of karma I have. Also you can buy those nice looking chests in ORR with karma and get some high end materials. I could go on and on and on and… how to easily get stuff. But hey, it’s not my duty to think for you, go try it yourself.
Multiply that by how many weapons are needed for a character.
Then multiply that by how many pieces of armor you’ll need soon.
Then multiply that by how many sets of armors of different stats you’ll want.
Then multiply that by how many alts you want to gear.
Go try it yourself.
