I take offense to this post. Mainly because you forgot the most important member of DE2.0
Frostbite – Rating: 25/5
:p
Now everyone sees what was visible to multi-screen and window-mode users all the time. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/suggestions/WvW-Suggestion-Restrict-view-angle-in-WvW
At least chances are now even, we will see what the result will be.
Actually, with a wider FoV, wouldn’t that just make the windowed-mode, multi-screen thing even more absurd compared to single screen?
The only real macros I’d wish they’d allow would be 1 skill and chat dialog. It’d really be helpful if you could call out when you’re using certain abilities, so the party knew when to do certain things. This is how EQ2 worked even before they really let you trigger multiple abilties.
Heck, even let us macro text messages to the party. then at least I could assign a key to say the message before I used the ability with a different key.

Remember when you could go to Lions Arch to ask for help from your servermates in WvW? That’s dead and gone too thanks to megaservers.
not true, especially in places like Loins Arch, most of the players in that instance will be from your server…
Actually, this is not true. I’ve been in Lion’s Arch and DR instances where the seeming majority of the map were from the server we were facing in the WvW matchup. As you can imagine, this would be a huge problem if someone called out that we needed help somewhere, as the other server would know.
I think the problem with megaservers are two-fold.
1) City maps should not be megaservered. Or if they are, at least put in the logic that the servers in the same wvw matchup don’t ever get megaservered together. The former is the better option since it allows more chance to get reinforcements for WvW, but I guess the latter would be good if they didn’t want to remove it from the cities at all.
2) It seems like the open world zones try and put you in the lowest population map. Maybe this works for random zones, but it causes the issue the OP mentioned with closing instances. it also just makes zones like Silverwaste require taxing to get to functional zones. If they changed it around so you entered more populated zones first, I think it would work better, since then you’d be in a Silverwaste instance that was progressing. If they didn’t want to do it that way for EVERY zone, I think there should be some sort of flag for the megaserver process where it is an option. That way zones like SW would get sorted differently when you zone to it.
While I like the account-based method myself, I wouldn’t actually have an issue with character-based either. I’ve actually wondered if the points themselves will unlock account wide but then you have to level each character in the mastery track.
Let’s be honest. This is basically their version of raising the level cap. Giving you it all by account almost feels like cheating. It’d be like another game who raises a level cap from say 80 to 90, making all your alts 90 when you ding one. As someone who has a bunch of alts, I can see it being tiresome sometimes, but at the same time, why should me maxing out 8 characters in masteries take the same as someone who only has 1 character? It seems like I SHOULD have to spend more time to max out all my characters.
While I was going to say peoples issues are more with anet and their selection method, not Marmett himself, and as such we should give the benefit of the doubt and see how it goes… I then came across this amazing post in his post history:

I’m sorry. Not someone that should ever have been picked as a “specialist” to represent the community to the devs.
I put in another ticket. I hope I get a good response considering there are other people with this issue.
It’s not really an “issue” though. The original collection that you had completed part of was for putting it in your bank collection tab. The collection was retired when they eliminated that functionality, much the same way they retire limited-time content achievements.
The new achievement is for actual unlocking in your wardrobe (which account-binds the item preventing you from selling it). While having the same name as the old one, its a completely different achievement and the requirements are different. You’re actually “collecting” the minis instead of flipping them when you’re done adding it.
As someone with an unfinished Mini3 original collection, I feel for you, but at the same time, it wouldn’t be fair for the people who actually have collected them and kept them to get the new achievement if they granted completion based on the old achievement.
Just ask TTS how many people they bring along in exotic gear to their triwurm, tequatl, and vinewraith runs, the answer you will get is absolutely none. Be in BiS gear, or don’t show up.
Not actually commenting on the no-grind part of this conversation… but as someone in TTS who has done Teq and Triwurm with them, in both zerg and reflect… I’ve never seen a gear check even called for, other than if you’re in condi or reflect, needing a certain type of weapon or trait setup (you know… so you can do the thing you’re in that team for). The character I bring is in full orange, since most of my ascended is on a different character.
So, whatever your actual point may be, don’t use fake information to try and validate it.
Clearly, they’re not playing the bells they’re holding, since the music continues after they walk away…
But even more importantly… what’s with the human male who in the middle of the song yells “FOUR!” in a robot sounding voice?
So, I’m at work for at least another few hours… anyone have any update since the patch? Is Annihilator spawning yet?
Seriously… Has ANYONE seen this mob spawn in the past week? I managed to get all the others in two nights of playing without any effort, but I’ve now been camping this one for over a week and, while I’ve seen all the others spawn multiple times each, I haven’t seen him once.
I’m at seven days waiting for annihilator. Like others, I’ve seen every other boss multiple times. Haven’t seen him once.
Wow. How did I never notice the recipe.? Thanks.
Ah wait. Just saw this in original patch notes. Thought I vaguely remembered.
Will have to check airship puzzle now.
Note: Aetherblade enemies across Tyria now have an added chance to drop Blade Shards. This addition to their drop list is permanent.
Is there any semi-reliable way to still get blade shards. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I didn’t get to log in yesterday to get my final 100 or so shards for my ascended back piece.
I’m assuming the answer is no, but figured I would ask.
Thanks in advance.
They haven’t even fixed the font issue (small fonts) that makes the listings front page unreadable — there’s seriously no hope of any more complex changes.
You wouldn’t believe how much it annoys me that this still hasn’t been fixed.
Agreed, you are buying a good. If I went to the Target and bought a Gem Card it’s taxed. Forget about the EU where the tax is already built into the price.
I buy Gem Cards all the time and they’re never taxed. The purchase is always exactly $25.
And what state do you live in and what brick and mortar store do you buy them at.
I live in New Jersey, and have bought Gem Cards at Target and Best Buy. No sales tax. (Same goes for when you buy gift cards at random stores)
The Lone Golem is feeling sad and is throwing a bash for all to attend at the SF Borderlands windmill right now. No fighting please! He only wants to be friends!
Did anyone die during the entirety of the instance? The achievement tracks deaths in all three Watchwork/Hallucination rooms and the Toxic Hybrid room. It does not count downed states, but it does count every player death for the whole instance.
Not to be nitpicky… but the achievement says defeat the Toxic Hybrid without dying… if it’s going to track any death throughout the whole instance, perhaps the achievement text should be changed to Don’t die in the entirety of the instance.
omg can we please not have a thread full of this haxploit stuff pretty please??
I’m guessing that will happen when people stop using them. Otherwise, people are going to call them out on it, as they should. It’s a shame that those people are marring an otherwise enjoyable matchup. As others have stated in different ways, there’s some great players on all sides, so it’s a shame when people have to use hacks to do things.
Classic Darkhaven!
Hopefully you reported them, as a Darkhaven person I don’t want to see our people cheating any more than I want to see an entire guild from Kaineng who keeps zoom-hacking arrow carts to be able to take towers (which has been going on for two days now).
Dear Kaineng,
I’m glad you had to resort to zoom hacks in order to try and take Greenlake tower in our BL. It was awesome standing there watching you shooting ACs and hitting places that are impossible to hit without hacking to take out our siege.
(and if anyone doubts that hacks were used, I’ll be glad to show them where the AC was that was hitting the tower, and where the AC was that was being aimed into the middle of the courtyard inside the tower)

Can I get an invite as well? Thanks.
well there were books planned for GW2 in the past, I wonder why it got scrapped?!
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/story-accessible/first#post2432398
The plan was to make lore accessible to the players in the game. So that they could read it again and again, whenever they choose… without leaving the game. I agree, it would be awesome if those blogposts and further lore pieces would be available in some form ingame.
You know, I didn’t know about books… it would certainly make all the book carts throughout Divinity’s Reach make more sense.
I don’t mind the lore on the website, but at the same time, I do rarely look there by default, so I constantly either miss things or have to actively remind myself. It seems that while putting it there is a good idea, putting some sort of interface in game so that people can read in game also would be a good idea.
I really do like the idea of collecting lore books, though we’d have to have some sort of separate inventory/bank space for it so it doesn’t clog up my already clogged bank vault space. hehe.
Edit:
Never mind… never realized when i fell back I got a weapon to smack it with.
(edited by celicynd.9420)
ok. just did it again and got the addition to my achieve. I think it has to do with the fact the first time i put the goggles on and did it, i was on the lower piece of the platform. this time I jumped right from where goggles were.
Did you put on the diving goggles ?
Yes. and was still in my swimsuit when i hit the water.
Does anyone know with 100% certainty if the diving goggles in the new aetherblade jump puzzle count towards the diving achievement?
After about 6 times, I finally jumped from platform, didnt hit anything, and made it to the water, but my counter didn’t go up. Trying to figure out if it just glitched for me, or whether it really doesn’t count.
Just because I’m curious… how are the WvW rankings (not matchups) calculated now with the current system.
I’m curious, because the millenium site has some odd ranking numbers predicted for next week. I was unsure if this was an error on their part because of the new system, or if it’s how the new system is working, I’m not understanding.
For example. Tarnished Coast is winning it’s matchup right now… but if the matches were to end today, they would lose 11 points. Fort Aspenwood is second, but they would lose 20. Sea of Sorrows is third, and they’d gain 37.
This happens though a few different matchups, and I guess I’m just not getting it.
Thanks for all the replies. I’m discussing this with the others and we will decide in the near future.
Also, I realized I didn’t mention our play times in the original post. Two of us are based in Eastern time zone, and are most active on weekdays from 5:30pm – midnight. Two are based in Alaskan and are most active after 4pm weekdays. Weekends vary and we are all more active during a wider time frame.
Myself and 3 friends are looking for a guild. We are currently on TC, though transfer is possible if we think a guild is the best fit. We would ideally like to find a medium sized active guild that is family friendly. We would like to run guild bounties, all dungeons, WvW and Fractals. Three of us have completed our Dungeon Master and are actively working on completing the fourth.
We have a range of 80s between us, covering all classes.
Our ideal guild:
- As stated above, Medium sized, family friendly and Active
- would not require 100% voice chat. (we are not adverse to it, just not 100% of time)
- we would like to occasionally take a break and hang out in our vanity guilds (not often) just enough for a break here and there.
We are fairly active, with two of use playing almost every night and two playing as often as possible (generally 3-5 nights a week). We are not stuck on grouping together all the time, we don’t mind grouping individually or in smaller mixes of people. We are friendly and maybe a little crazy at times, but just enough to be fun to group with.
i have the same problem im at 720/721 i have all pois checked every map and all wvw done checked multiple times…. Getting old a-net… stop add new content fix what u have!!!!!!
Just saw this after my wife was having the same issue… I’m betting you’re missing the same PoI as her… since it doesn’t show on the world or WvWvW maps.
Go to the zone below lions arch. There’s a deadend waypoint, head into the cave, at the end there’s a giant zone-in portal to the Chantry of Secrets. It has a single PoI in it.
My concern with a button to make the pet “dodge” is for those multi red ring aoe situations… Some of them I barely have enough notice to dodge out myself… Now I have to double tap a dodge for me while hitting f3 for my pet? Seems a bit cumbersome.
We tried giving them reduced damage from AOE/attacks, and it opened up other problems – mainly that a team of 2 rangers could take on almost any boss in a dungeon by smart swapping of pets and letting the pet take aggro. It’s unfortunate, but we can’t just increase and decrease numbers until pets are perfect – we’ve tried really hard, but numbers are not going to fix pets without letting them break everything. We have to look deeper into mechanics, AI, player actions, and skills.
The thing that kind of bothers me about statements like this is when you have devs in another thread praising how awesome it is that people are soloing lupicus…
Secondly,
Dodging, i find it ridiculous for Rangers. Why?
Pets
I turn my pet to peaceful and usually have no issue…. easiest way to get dodges on a ranger is equip a greatsword. spam 1, get dodge quota super fast.
My wife and I have been getting this error on and off as of late… strangely it always seems to happen in peak play times, whether we’re in an overland zone or an instance.
I’ve actually muted my audio every time I go into town at this point, because I can’t stand this audio effect. It’s like over and over constant, never ending.
My wife and I noticed something yesterday. We were constantly having issues with the gem purchase transactions not going through. I had stopped playing for a while, and she actually stopped having issues with purchasing. Yesterday, I bought my first gems in quite a while, and she again got the failed message.
I know it’s not our credit cards, since we checked with them… I’m wondering if ANet has some sort of check in place where if two accounts from the same IP address try and purchase, it locks them out in some way.
Obviously, this won’t apply to everyone, but I’m curious as to how many people are having issues that have two people playing/purchasing from the same home network.
I’m getting this same message. Not a foreign card. And I only purchase gems once or twice a month (haven’t really been playing)… If ANet tries and tell me that I’m calling BS on their “Risk Management” system. My wife is also having the same issue. It’s completely absurd that she keeps having this issue, I’m getting it now, and two guild members seem to be having the same issue.
I’ve never had this issue with any of my other online purchases… perhaps ANet needs to get a better processing and CC security system that actually works.
I just tried purchasing gems, and I’m getting a card approval error. There doesn’t seem to be an issue on my bank side, has anyone else had this problem?
I’ve had no issues with purchasing from the store up until this point, and now none of my cards are working.
My wife is having similar issues with her account. None of her cards work either.
