FYI those with alt accounts can gift the free one to your main. I strongly recommend that (unless you play both accounts 4realz).
More Eastern MMO-style boxes with random stuff! <shakes head>
You get one box free and can choose to never spend on them. I’m not sure why you’d be against this.
It’s actually a really good reward:
- You get some guaranteed drops.
- You have a chance to get skins that dropped during part of LS1.
- You also get tokens that can be traded for those same skins (minimum:1; max I’ve heard about is 67; top reward is 100 tokens and next highest is 50, but many are below 10)
ugg I wasn’t paying attention, didn’t realize you could gift them. oh well live and learn.
I value my account to much to trust anything other than a direct purchase from Anet. I can’t say anything good or bad about other sites. I just know I’ve seen 100’s of people upset because their account was banned after they bought the game from a 3rd party. I can understand if they have a great deal on price why it may be tempting. Just there is always the chance. At least buying from Anet you know you can’t get a ban for having a stolen account. Or at least I don’t see how you would if they are the ones to sell it to you.
I swear, everyone who complains about them nit designing PoF maps around gliding must have never played GW1… The Crystal Desert region and Northern Elona were both very flat regions when compared to Maguuma. Even though there are canyons and mountains throughout the desert, none of them were anywhere near as big as the ones in Maguuma. Even with the reawakening of the elder dragons the landscape of Tyria has hardly changed since the events of GW1. No one shoukd be expecting them to redesign the landscape of an established region just to incorporate the need for gliders.
Mounts may not be everyones cup of tea, but PoF is the best expansion for them to add them in, just like HoT was the best expansion for them to add gliding. The landscapes in GW2 are designed around their original GW1 versions with very little variation in establisbed regions.
Pretty much exactly what I was thinking.
I’m liking what I’ve done so far. Very happy to see some throwback. Elona was always my favorite area. The detail with the mount is awesome imo. Can’t wait for full PoF release.
Yes it was on a laptop. I don’t know what happened to cause it to change on me. I was thinking when I updated driver somehow it switched to integrated without me even knowing. I only noticed when my fps slowed way down.
The way I changed it was control panel>nvidia>settings. There was a way to make it only use the dedicated card. It worked for me after that.
This would be fun.
Don’t know if this will help. I’m not one of those tech wizards. Like some here. There was a time on a different PC I was having a similar problem. Found out the game somehow had switched to using the integrated and not the dedicated card. Once I set the the game to auto use the dedicated gpu only it took off. Was able to run it at 100 fps no problem. Before that it was lucky to break 15 fps.
Agree, they need to allow us to have at least 90 so we can have one of every class/profession and sex. Right now we have to have at least 2 accounts for that. But even then it makes a main account feel so incomplete. Ok, 91 cause I want to keep my rerollable weekly key runner. But I dream.
With you on the removing limit. Wish they would make it happen. But it is what it is. Same, still waiting, sent my ticket in yesterday.
About a year or so ago there was a character slot combined with something else in store. I thought I would be able to get it. So bought it. No luck. I had a back and forth with Anet devs doing a ton of things to make it work but they ended up being unsuccessful. At one point they asked if they could log on my account and try to add it that way. I was more than happy for them to try. They tried adding it on their end and by logging on my account and attempting to add it. Just wouldn’t take. They did refund my gems. Was it actually the devs, or was it senior support staff? From what I heard back from support was they simply do not have the tools to access the game on the level required to add characters past 69.
The devs on the other hand….do.
The expansion packs each have no issue adding that bonus character slot to 70 and 71.
Took me a bit to go through the emails. It was year and 5 months ago. After rereading them. It went to the support then senior support they worked on it for about 5 days. I can say 5 days because I have no less than 2 emails a day from Monday through Friday. With one day having 5 emails from them trying to work it out. On that Friday they told me they would have to wait to contact a dev on the following Monday because they had all went home for the weekend. The following Monday I was contacted by senior support again they told me after talking with a dev, (prefer not say any names because I know there are weird rules about using specific names.) That developer told them they could not add more without making changes to the game. So in short, I only had contact with support but they did consult a developer about the problem.
They refunded my gems but even after that they kept trying. They even tried to add a character for free. Which imo was very generous of them. Shows twice in emails they thought they were able to, yet when I logged in it wasn’t there. It just wouldn’t let them. Maybe things have changed since then and they may be able to now. crossing my fingers.
I’m curious about the (2) Bag Slot Expansions if you are already maxed on Bag Slot Expansions. Does this allow you to exceed the normal maximum slots? Also, it doesn’t specifically indicate if this is account bound but on the Bag Slot Expansion it does show as account bound. If I get the (2) Bag Slot expansions via this pack and can’t use it on my primary account, can I send it to my secondary account? If I can’t, then basically that is useless.
I cannot say about mailing them, I was thinking they are account bound. As far as adding more. I’m pretty sure there is a max on bag slots. I was thinking on some toons it stopped giving me the option to add more bag slots. But I see your concern. If you already have them all maxed and buy more will it allow you to add? My guess is they will allow you to add them to the new character slots you would get with the package.
Edit, just checked on the ones in the mail. It says, “account bound on acquire” so no on the mailing.

Wanted to say. I do believe Anet did all they could to make it work. I think there was about a week of email exchanges with several emails back and forth a day trying to make it work. They were very pleasant in trying to resolve the issue. Some of their responses implied their own frustrations with not getting it to work. It appeared it went all the way up the ladder so to speak with a bunch of different people trying. No complaints here about support. I think they went above and beyond. Just wasn’t in the stars.
(edited by danielrjones.8759)
You are correct.. I bought 2 thinking I would be able to get more and I got everything except the the character slots. Disheartening really. Waiting for Anet to get back with me. But I have a feeling they are going to refund my gems instead.
I recently had an exchange with support about the character slot issues. They say they are unable to do anything due to the fact that they do not have the tools to work around the limit, and that the devs are the ones that would have to deal with this issue.
As such, the best we can do is request a refund for the gems. Still waiting for a response on that though.
On a side note, I think it’s high time to remove the character slot limits.
With you on the removing limit. Wish they would make it happen. But it is what it is. Same, still waiting, sent my ticket in yesterday.

I thought with the new xpac they would raise the limit by more than 1 so bought them yesterday. Seems things are the same. I left items in mail expecting them to refund my gems and take those back. The other items are nice and all, but I was really only wanting the new character slots. Wanted to add more people to my family. lol
You are correct.. I bought 2 thinking I would be able to get more and I got everything except the the character slots. Disheartening really. Waiting for Anet to get back with me. But I have a feeling they are going to refund my gems instead.
What Inculpatus cedo said is correct. I tried. Sent me everything except the slots. Waiting for Anet to get back with me.
It is possible that if you have maxed character limit it will not show up. The option to buy another character is not available for me and I’m sure others in this situation. There was a time awhile back when they offered a package of some sort, don’t remember what they called it. I bought it because it had a character slot. I never got the slot, Anet wasn’t able to add it to my main account so they refunded the gems. After that the option to buy that pack was no longer there. That being said. I did see the pack you are talking about, bought 2 and got everything except the additional character slots. Sent a ticket, still waiting to see. I have a feeling this will go the same way as the last attempt to upgrade more slots.
update on this, after multiple tries and being unsuccessful. I logged in on a different character moved them to Black Citadel They got in. logged out then tried the toon that was in login limbo and was able to get back in game. Not sure if my doing that made a difference or w/e witchcraft was going on wanned.
Using Octovine To PowerLevel level 2 and Up

This is something I’ve done for a cpl years. I am one of those altholics as well as with multiple accounts. I wasn’t aware you could start them at low level. I had to start around lvl 60 or so because I thought I wasn’t doing enough damage to get it to count. Maybe the time I tried it with a level 10 or w/e I did something wrong. Will check it on some really low levels. thanks for correcting my flawed thinking on this.
Was playing an alt account. Was in the Citadel and character stopped being able to interact with the npc. Shut game down for a bit, restarted laptop. When I try to log in on that toon it says unable to connect, check connection. I logged out. checked everything. Logged in on a few other accounts they worked fine. Logged in on the account I was having problems with, I’m able to log in on every toon except the one. When I do it says unable to connect. Was asking here if anyone knew what to do before I send in a ticket. Or if I just need to wait it out. I know weird things can happen. So w/e advice ppl have would be great.
Thanks, Dan
Can anyone say if they got their additional character slot? I’m seeing the other goodies but not the character slot.
I believe I did? I think I had 2 left, and now I have 3?
Thanks for letting me know.
Can anyone say if they got their additional character slot? I’m seeing the other goodies but not the character slot. I did log in/out a few times just to see. Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue.
Not that it’s really a big deal I suppose. When Anet said they were increasing crafting professions. They did make the statement. “all crafting professions will be increased to 500” of course that was over 3 years ago. I specifically remember they used the word all. Unfortunately I’m unable to find that comment. But then it’s Anet and as we know. all things are subject to change.
How to show gilder while stay on the ground ?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

@Electro I do recall that bug. But I was thinking the only person who could see the glider was the person it bugged on. I asked a guildie once if they could see it when they were standing in front of me and they said no.
qT all I can say is daaaaaannnnnnnggggg, that site is awesome. your written rotations and tips taps very nice. Thanks for the site and the work you all put into this.
Was an interesting read on the gw2efficiency debate. I have often wondered about those numbers. I have no idea who is right. What I have found the more serious players tend to use it more so than those who are not. But I don’t get out much so can only make that comment from listening to guildies talk.
well so much for my theory I have the unluckiest account in GW. I just considered not getting them normal for me.
An SSD was mentioned. To me comparing ssd to a hdd is like comparing redbull to water.

The skies have parted. An actual direct comment about a third party tool. A comment that doesn’t leave one wondering “what did they mean by that?” thought I would never the day.
I enjoyed it, even the last fight. See I’m not the only one to not like the small room at the end. but hey maybe I need to learn to adjust if there will be more encounters like this. I felt like sometimes in the last fight, for me anyway. Winning it was more about knowing what to do than seeing what I’m able to do. If that makes sense. I feel like the story/fights are pretty much middle or slightly above middle in difficulty allowing a lot of people to enjoy the content. Thanks Anet.
was going to say crushed bone as well. I found for the bandit outfit crushed bone is a much better choice for white than celestial. Seems overall crushed bone is better on all the things I used it on.
Nice work, Not just another dance video but a video that goes with the song. Loved the way you put scenes in the game to the words of this song. Great job.
Not certain if we are talking about the same. It’s been awhile. If I recall the powder that allows the change is also dependent on what type of booster you are converting The ones that have to do with fighting fall in one category and the surplus booster which fall into magic/karma/craft? ect fall into a different category. You can convert them but to get a karma booster from using a powder you have to convert a specific type or types to have that option. I don’t believe you can convert a karma booster to say an armor booster the other way around. I could be wrong here.

Bandit outfit pack. Want to buy it for my kids.
I was able to buy the Character slot and the experience scroll. Took my gems got the scroll but no character slot. Was wondering if anyone else had this problem?
I scrolled all the way to the right and there simply is not an empty slot.
Question for the Tech Wizards black screen.
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: danielrjones.8759
Lately when I salvage to quickly it will go to a black screen. Now it doesn’t crash but it can last up to 2-3 seconds. It started doing this on windows 8 and still does with windows 10. Then it will recover and go back to normal.
I was wondering if anyone knows why this may be or if anyone knows if I have something checked in game that is causing this?
Thanks for any input.
I know gw2efficiency isn’t a perfect way to kitten how many raid. But if we use their data it doesn’t look all that great.
But I also believe more and more will start raiding and even more when armor is out.
No idea why that put kitten but to say a different way is —isn’t a perfect way to figure out how many raid.
I only do the multiloot once a day, and really not every day. Only when I have time to kill. It seems at least for me the best way is to do TD meta then once you get cache from behind wall map to AB jump in a multimap group. I usually get there around 12 min till the hour. At most I’m on the map 42 min start to finish.
Now I suppose if people loot the event multiple times a day they may run short on keys but since I only go once a day I never run out of keys. And my map currency is 6k more more than when I first started. Usually I’m only able to run 5-6 maps for grand chest. I would think people who do it often are far more efficient than me.
I’ve mentioned this before and still don’t see many doing it but a quick way to gain 12-20keys in just a few minutes is to do the 4 events that spawn at the same time. One at each gate. It’s the event which has nine waves. Kill one wave then wallow to other side kill one wave and wp to north or south kill one wave then wallow to other side. This takes at most 4 minutes. Super easy to get credit for all 4 events. You will get keys, bags and map currency for more keys. And if lucky even a few extra rares.
No more than I farm it, I’m sure there are those who have a great system down for efficiency. So they would have better advice.
I think it’s a great farm for those who don’t have a lot of time and even better for those who do. As far as nerfing it. No one can say for certain but lets be honest. Have we ever seen Anet leave a great farm alone?
6 months ago there was thread after thread how maxing mastery points took far to long. The complaints poured in daily. Comments similar to… Anet must be crazy to expect this much grind….. it will take some people months or years…. Anet expects to much from the players.
3-4 months later the complaints poured in how unfair it was that all experience earned after maxing mastery lines was useless and what a waste it was for people to earn exp and nothing to do with it. Not that I disagree with the later.
imo it doesn’t really matter how many li are needed, eventually it will join the ranks of complaints like……I have all these extra li…..Anet they are worthless……Anet put something in the game to make them useful again.
@eldrin one thing is certain you are one very persistent person. That is commendable imo. Just a lot of people disagree with you. I am one who disagrees, not so much for the same reasons as everyone here but some I do agree with.
For me it has nothing to do with exclusivity as far as the have and have nots for lack of a better phrase but it has to do with finally Anet put something in the game that requires dedication persistence and the willingness to become a better player over all. I do understand that these words are subjective but for me then mean exactly the direction Anet is going with this. Time/grind/no facerolling.
One of the main reasons I don’t have an issue with the time gate. I need to use GW1 as my example and yes before anyone starts I know they are 2 different games.
I was one of the first wave of people in GW1 to get gwamm. I recall how everyone thought that was so cool because it was so rare to see that tittle. The amount of hours it took BEFORE Anet made the changes to dumb that title to oblivion was insane. Some of the titles earned to get gwamm required an easy 150-200 hours EACH. Bare in mind we needed 30 titles. Drunkard for example took 166 hours now people can get it in a matter of minutes because of the changes Anet made. Then we had Legendary Defender of Ascalon. That title took me freaking 3 months to get! Then what does Anet do? They throw in a handful of quest where people could get that one in a matter of days.
The list goes on and on, titles needed to get gwamm 100 hours here 200 hours there adding up to 1000’s of hours just to get that one final title. I guess my point is there was a time when gwamm was considered a worthy title, but because so many people kvetch and moaned Anet dumb that title so bad a 6 year old can get it now. I mean it’s so common I though Anet was giving them as login rewards.
I was not upset so many had gwamm I was upset because once gwamm was something worth having representing dedication. Then anet turned it in nothing but a gold sink and made it the equivalent of a first year mini and a white one at that.
So don’t carry on about 4 months or 6 months or even 9 months to earn something, Give it time and with enough kvetching and moaning Anet will start giving the pieces of legendary armor as daily login rewards.
Hopefully I’m wrong and Anet doesn’t do to legendary armor what they did to gwamm. There is nothing wrong with 150 nor the time gate.

If you have fun building it 1 piece every 3 weeks, nobody will stop you. I want to craft all at same time. Can i have my fun?
I think part of your comment may be the rub for some. ’want to craft all at same time"
To me this means, All at the same time= easy to obtain=anyone can have it=cheapen the armor = no thanks I will just wear an outfit.
btw, from the sound of things if you want to craft it all at once. You may want to spend more time in game and less time here.

If you have fun building it 1 piece every 3 weeks, nobody will stop you. I want to craft all at same time. Can i have my fun?
I’m a fun person, I wished everyone could have their fun but it’s one of those- can’t please everyone all the time things. Where is the line drawn at what is an acceptable amount of li? What about those who have been pugging for months with just a handful of kills and they have 1-5 li. Seems they would feel they spent enough time in raids as well. Should anet reduce it to 1-5 li for them? If 1-5 li why not just 1 li per piece? For some doing each raid boss just one time is enough.
Again where is the line drawn? Should it be to make you happy, or me happy or john/jane doe who thinks one raid in their life is enough? I prefer the 150 but if Anet decides against it I will be happy for whoever it helps. My main thing is please don’t allow it to be bought like current legendarys . And please keep the skin exclusive to raiding. Just my 2 cents.
yes its 25 LI per piece and we need 6 of them for a full set 6×25=150 =horrible time gate ,worse for those using lfg without a static.I really dont get the point your trying to make.and it was said it would all be crafted as one not in parts.do you have new info on that. come on get real. the set will probably have some visual effect, just wouldnt be the same runing around just legendary boots.
You do not craft it all at once. Have you even looked at the MF recipes?
This thread and comment at bottom supports what Ayrilana (whose name I still don’t know how to pronounce unless the first part is like Ariel? Any way back on topic.
I thought it was done as a set at first, now I’m pretty convinced I’m wrong. Here is the comment on the thread imo supports everything Ayrilana has been saying.

Upgrading the precursor armor to legendary is done one piece at a time, so you can choose to only upgrade certain pieces if so desired.”
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/4of0ld/update_from_anet_about_legendary_armor/d4c12qg
personally after seeing this, I’m against lowering the li at all. imo it will be fun and exciting to build it and enjoy it as I go. But I plan on building all 3 sets, I know its going to take a long while. I’m fine with that, gives me something to work on.
(edited by danielrjones.8759)
You have read nothing, 150 LI is fine, the ability to get more in less time is what I’ve been saying. Should be closer to a daily with a weekly cap in my opinion.
If it was a daily reset on LI and not weekly, it satisfies everything you just said. lol
If you think a massive time gate with large spans of time between the same boss proves anything, what else is there to say to you?
Not really as players will just farm the easy bosses. It trivializes their being a required amount of LI. It’s not really that massive of a time gate. Every 2.8 weeks I’ll get a piece of legendary armor. Sounds pretty good to me.
You really aren’t reading, its near impossible to get all 9 bosses in 1 week for most players. Everyone without a guild raid will either dedicate there life to it or won’t get anywhere near it.
May I suggest a quick visit to your local street pharmacist or something, dude you just sound angry all the time.
Cause making a clear consensus point makes everyone mad…. oh boy….
ummm ok? But yeah I guess we are talking about the same consensus point you’ve made 14 times over the last 5 days.
everyone mad? don’t know about everyone but you, yeah.
I was just saying that in jest not to be mean. You take things to personally.
I get your point, I don’t agree. No need to be upset about that. Anyway if you get things changed then we’ll just deal with the change. If not, we’ll deal with what we need to work on. Just because I don’t agree with you means I would be upset if Anet made a change. Lifes just to short and imo there are far more important things to deal with. Wasn’t trying to insult you man was just discussing my opinions.
Anyway out for the night have a good one.

Is this for me? If it is, it’s all good man. I’m not here to argue what is the best or worse way for Anet to deal with this. I was just saying I’m fine with the way it is or fine with them making some tweeks. I’m simply not one to get worked up over stuff like this.

@Ayrilana.1396
I’m fine with the 150, I’m still a ways from getting it but I’m one of those who don’t mind long term goals. So don’t take this the wrong way. I"m not so certain if the armor will be pieced out. Like 1 made and done then move on to the next. It may be crafted that way. I was under the impression when a person was able to get the legendary armor it would come as a set not in individuals pieces. It almost sound like you’re saying a person will be able to craft a piece and wear it while working on another. It’s also possible I’m completely misunderstanding you. I didn’t read every comment.
I’m fine with either way Anet decides to go on crafting. I think what I’m excited the most, almost as much as the armor. This is an item that must be earned, a legendary that shows a persons dedication and in my case persistence lol, Not all my runs go smooth or according to plan.
Edited, I’m not sure where I got the impression it would only come as a set. I think it was a dev comment on reddit.
The dev comment you heard from was likely the one about the entire set costing roughly as much as a legendary weapon.
Yeah your most likely right, at first I thought it was a comment about crafting and the end result in how the armor was obtained. I looked around for it but wasn’t able to find it. About the time I thought I read that I was also going over the collections and what I needed to do as well as making sure I had all the stuff for provisioner tokens/eggs/plates t6 and what not. If it is pieced out and people are able to wear a piece as they go. I have no idea why anyone would be upset with the process. Or the 150 insights.
That’s just me though.

Negative. Those who earn theirs kills using LFG spend more time and apply more efforts. While those who have static groups have all very easy. And in same time they will be able to craft armor while others will continue to spend hours, days and weeks in randoms lfg groups.
How is this a problem? This is literally true for any content in the game, why wouldn’t people that spend time and effort to get organized not get rewarded by being able to clear content in general more easy?
You know what I find insulting? The fact that you can buy every single legendary in the game just by having alot of money, no more precise to craft a legendary you need ridiculous amounts of gold. Now these players that have always excluded me with their gold grinds want to turn the raid requirement also in a gold grind. It excludes me and the vast majority of players from getting legendary stuff in a reasonable time frame. This puts up more barriers than raids ever will.
Thought this comment by DutchRiders was one of the better counter points to this discussion.
Trying not to weigh in to much on this because there is so much we don’t know yet.
I’m an optimist though, if Anet says 150 then 150 it will be. It seems most of the time Anet has done right by their players. We may not agree with some of the things they do at first but usually by the time it’s all said and done we can see why they did what they did.
I think I"m more aggravated with doing Gerent 90 times for all 3 sets. Can’t count the times I joined the lfg meta to switch to a new map only to find 6 people on it. ugg. But then maybe we wont have to do it 90 times and I’m saving all these up for nothing. I don’t know exactly how those recipes are going to work.
Just super excited about the armor though. I love the idea of having to earn something from playing and skill instead of buying it.
Anything that existed before HoT will apply any xp earned towards Tyria. I believe that’s the case. Only xp earned in the 4 new maps go towards HoT mastery.
If you get tired of repeating LS story for xp there is 2 other places for fast xp. One I never did but heard it was very good was CoF farming. The other I did, map in Dry Top 5-10 min early to get on a good map and farm the dust storm events Lots of foes spawn and even more if there is alot of people there. Again use the toon which has the best aoe. Like guardian staff for tagging.
What Inculpatus cedo said is very important if your out killing. I’ve leveled many a toons with passive creatures being the best for bonus point. The farther you go off the beaten path the better. Bonus xp is tied to the amount of time any creature yellow or red have been on the map. The longer the better.
What AliamRationem said is great for very quick and also a decent amount of xp. There is a handful of adventures you can easily get gold on. If I recall getting gold is around 100k xp per adventure after you add the amount from all 3 boxes. These adventures take about 2 min each. Been awhile I was thinking there is at least 5 which are very easy and that would be about 500k xp per day in around 10-12 min total. I think there are more than 5 that are considered easy, just 5 offhand I can think of that are very easy.
If you are in a guild make sure to check out the npc in guild hall to get the 24 hour xp buff. Always maintain food. You can get 15% xp from regular cheap food then for around 1s or so per potion (not on game so cant be certain on price) you can buy powerful potion of scarlet slaying army and its a utility which gives 15% unlike the other utilities which give 10% If you have the laurels be sure to buy an ascended amulet then buy the +20% xp addon from laurel vendor.
With the right food and amulet alone you can maintain +50% without any other booster. If you use a kill streak, I cant say it’s the best but it worked great for me. It was doing Dragon Stand. And of course using your best aoe for easier tagging.
I feel like I’m missing some other easy ways to gain xp. Hopefully others will add what is missing
Hi @ all
According to a post of the developers regarding the amount of LI per Armor Piece, 25 LI are required for each piece. That is 150 LI per armour. And that is at least according to my opinion FAR too much!
My Request is:
Please lower the amount of LI to 15 per armour piece or give us the possibility to require more LI per week.
My suggestion is based on the following Argumentation:
If you want to create all Sets of Legendary armour you need 450 LI which is 50 weeks of successfully defeating each Raid boss a week!
I like how the Legendary Fractal Backpack was introduced into the game and even the time gated Research Journals were ok for me.
6 weeks until you get a reward seemed a reasonable amount of time.
However hiding the armour behind at least 3-4 months of time gated Content is just a bad decision.
What if I have much time in a week for Gaming but in another week I have no time at all?
The game punishes me for not playing each week my weekly Raids which is a bad gamification desicision.
I do understand that ArenaNet needs daily/weekly Content that at least a part of the player Base is “forced” to play however only playing for the sake of getting a daily/weekly reward is not the enjoyable gaming experience we were promised already in the first Manifest of ArenaNet in 2010.
No grinding! No “Hey I swung that Sword again!”And here we are forced to Grind, forced to play daily/weekly because the rewards are only available at that point in time and to be honest doing most of what we do is because of the sake of time gated rewards.
So please dear ArenaNet keep your promise that you have given us many times already and change the game from grinding to fun! ????
Absolutely not!
A full set of legendary armor is the most prestigious feat in this game as stated by Anet and would only be logical to take some time to complete. It is the true epitome of end game.
Raids are already extremely accessible and by the time they release the complete armor set everyone will have over 200 of Li.
Some of my guilds have over 120 already.
Remember that the legendary armor is not available YET. and probably won’t be do until either more raids or living story season 3 is released.
More so. You cannot hope to shell 400 g to buy a wing clear from some guilds and be rewarded with legendary armor
Last comment is incorrect, there is far more people than you may realize who can afford to pay 20k for 50 wing clears. Not saying they will, but plenty who certainly can pay it.
I reread my post. Not sure where you got how I was trying to convince you of anything. I merely stated my experience and my lack of understanding why some are so against raiding.
Well, there you have it then. “Different tastes,” would be your answer, primarily.
1. There are people who have less time to give up to “standing around while other players show up, get replaced, change gear, relearn strategies, etc.” between attempts.
2. There are people who feel strong personal responsibility for wasting others time, and thus feel particularly bad when their actions could lead to a wipe, no matter how nice everyone else may be about it.
3. There are people who strongly dislike seeing their own efforts squandered, when they feel they are absolutely nailing what they are supposed to be doing, but then the entire thing collapses anyway because someone else messed up (even if they aren’t jerks about it, they still feel it).
4. There are people who internalize failure far more strongly than success. To some people, failing something nine times and then succeeding on the tenth feels great, the failures sort of psyche them up and the success is a massive release that washes away all the frustration. To others, the opposite is true, even if they do succeed on the tenth, it’s just a tiny highlight in an otherwise miserable experience. Even if the players eventually “git good” and clear the content, they will never view it as an overall positive gaming experience, which is an outcome that the developers should seek to avoid.
These are not things that can be “fixed” or made different, these are core elements of people’s personalities. While some people seem to really enjoy raids for what they are, everyone needs to accept that there are some people (apparently the overwhelming majority of players, actually) that are just wired differently, and will never enjoy that experience. The game cannot at any point revolve entirely around the desires of those who enjoy raiding, the same story content and rewards need to be made available to the rest of the players as well.
Ok different taste it is and totally understandable. Just because I don’t understand why someone doesn’t like something doesn’t mean I disbelieve them. I’ve never understood why my wife doesn’t like vanilla ice cream. She hates it. I don’t know why but I know its true. So I get what you’re saying.
Some of the problems I have, we see how there are those who complain about raids when in fact it’s really not the raid or content they are upset about, It’s more about time issues, personality conflicts, elitist attitudes and a host of other reasons. Well imo don’t blame the freaking content blame the people. Then they complain in such a manner they expect Anet to pull out some magic wand that will force everyone else to acquiesce to the complainers will.
Now if the reason is simply have no desire. I get that. Heck there are things in the game a lot of people do that I have no desire to do.
You did make one comment earlier I thought. Regarding hypocrisy, on one hand we say if you want legendary armor earn it. Then on the other hand we say, well you can pay people to run raids for it. Because I believe a lot of people who are against others getting legendary armor without raiding would be more than happy to take their gold in exchange for the armor. aka paying for runs. Ouch you owned us on that one.
