@Astral, yes wrong thread
in the past my load time for mapping was anywhere between 1-3 seconds. 3 seconds only when LA had lots of people and at peak times. Usually mapping into LA was about 2 seconds at most. Then while in LA when mapping to a different waypoint while in town. It was about half a second to 1 second max in time.
A few days ago, my load times more than doubled and tripled in some places. In LA I noticed it is up to 3 seconds at the least.
I have not modified any settings. Was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. If not I need to find out what the culprit is.
I have not played near as much as I once did. If it was a change in the game. I cannot say when it would have started.

if you have the sprocket node in your home world, you have a chance to get some from it.
Finished the Fashion Achievement today. Takes 1000 various skins. Still have many more to get.
Thanks for this ability Anet.
Side note. For those working on the achievement, don’t forget to grab all the skins from the HoM if you have those.
(edited by danielrjones.8759)
only thing I’ve noticed so far was any items you throw in you haven’t unlocked the skin for it will unlock that skin.
when you hear the word stack irl you think everyone together, or 250
regarding ori/ancient and guesting, yes those are character bound limited to x amount per map regardless of server. What I found when I was farming them daily on multiple alts. I did use the guesting system. Not to get more but to expedite the runs. I would memorize spawn locations of 3 maps and guest according to which was quickest. I would think many people would do that. Using the guesting method would enable me to farm anywhere from 250-350 ori a day usually 50 ori per alt depending on my farming mood.
imo megaserver will reduce the rate of farming for the hardcore ori/wood farmers that did the same thing.
(edited by danielrjones.8759)
Welcome back, as like you I have been considering the impact this change will have on the economy.
Hope everyone plans ahead wisely.
And congratz on the pre.
Valandil, My apologizes, I misunderstood your post. I have made one. Earned every item, only because I got lucky and got the legend from forge. Took me about 9 months. Never really got in a hurry figured it would happen when it happened. I bought one from tp as well. Where as I have different feeling about the acquisition of them, I feel I earned them both. As I spent a great deal of time just to make the money to buy the second one.
@Valandil Dragonhart.2371 so RNG is skill? How does one “earn” RNG??? Getting a pre cursor is based on something outside of anyones control. So a person who plays 1-2 hours a weeks gets lucky and gets a pre to drop. Another person plays 10 times that amount a week and never gets one to drop. If that is your definition of “earning” by all means. Go for it.
(edited by danielrjones.8759)
I miss the titles or achievements that required 100-200 hours to complete.
yes I seen some changes may not happen till the end of the year. Not wanting to dis Anet, but we’ve heard the “end of the year” comment before.
unsure how many people server hop at the perma node. if it’s in the thousands I would think to see a change in ori, as that would be 6 less per toon/per day. If it is not in the thousands I don’t expect to see much change in ori. I do recall a time I had a couple alts I rarely used parked there. It seemed to me I seen a good share of what I assumed was server hoppers. People appearing and disappearing frequently.
Been wondering how this will be with node farmers as well. I can see some mat prices change. There are some mats I feel a lot of people server hop to gather more. Like Platinum and Lemongrass off hand. I would think there are a few more people do that with as well. We should know more about how this will work today.
@Palador.2170 “Stupidity is a gold sink.”
Best line I read in weeks, love it.
moving 10 toons around farming my daily mats on each, doing all meta events after reset. Rarely spend less than 2g some days over 3g when I play longer on wp alone. I would much rather they remove wp cost than armor repair. Of course I’m lazy so don’t walk much, time is money. I would believe there are those who farm far more than I do in similar fashion. I would think they spend at least that amount as well.
Anet knows full well people spend more on wp than they do on armor repair. Which is why it hasn’t been removed.
(edited by danielrjones.8759)
Very nice guide Vol. I had been doing the same 4 events you spoke of for a long time now. I sincerely hope people read your guide and those who love to farm take it to heart.
I found your numbers to be spot on. As with all things, some days are better than others. People who do these event and use your guide. I hope work mf hardcore. I found that made a considerable difference as well.
Very funny trick about the wp, been doing that as well. Found many times when I try to crowd several regular meta in between farming the main 4
I do have a question, what severs do you recommend? Not asking so everyone will flock to the same one, but say the top 5. I have been using NSP for one of mine but as you mentioned, ideal size is around 20. And well they have considerably more. One very nice thing about NSP, they are extremely consistent.

good meeting you Cyrus, good luck. I do recommend you get nightfall, some very easy titles you can get in that one. Along with some nice elite skills. Also you will not be able to get 3/3 of skill hunter/cart/vanquish ect. to give the bonus title for having all done without it.
(edited by danielrjones.8759)
so you think the ascended gear was a last ditch effort to stop people from leaving? If so the people who work at anet must be exceptional to put that content out in such a short time. I on the other hand believe ascended has been in the works for much longer. But since I don’t work there, its just an opinion.
@SpyderArachnid.5619 been here from the start, still loving it. If I didn’t wouldn’t be here.
If Anet reacted out of fear every time someone say they are leaving or quitting because of a change made in the game. They would have been out of business years ago.
so let me understand this, I made 3 legendary and I’m suppose to be upset because others will be able to clone theirs? All the fun I had making them has now suddenly disappeared into thin air?
Some of you people have to much time on your hands. I’m surprised your not QQ about the forums being red and white.
(edited by danielrjones.8759)
oh another I want anet to spoon feed me everything that will make me money thread. If people posted the dyes and didn’t get to pull them, then they got what they posted them for. They made money off of them. If people weren’t smart enough to look ahead and think for a few a bit they should wait to see what is up with dye. That is on them and them alone.
It sure gets old seeing all the QQ about tp, people don’t play the market smart, so they need a scapegoat. (ANET) Heaven forbid someone actually be responsible for THEIR own decisions.
oh yeah, I love how all the chef mats for dyes are going up. very happy.
prices for chef mats to craft dye are going up. says " hue-specific dyes can still be crafted" I see blueberries have more than tripled in price. And walnut has went crazy from 7c to 1.60s
(edited by danielrjones.8759)
@Elegie.3620, I see where you coming from just don’t agree. I have 2 legendary one I did not buy any part of, earned every mat to make it. The other I bought off tp. Where I feel I actually accomplished something on the one I made. If they gave away 1000 legendary tomorrow it would not in anyway diminish what I feel I accomplished. It was a personal thing. No amount of prizes can take that away. If your goal was to do to all that is required to make yours and that is what you did. How can more take something away that you have already accomplished?
For the one I bought off tp. I feel I earned that one as well. I spent many hours doing research, learning the ins and outs of the tp something that took me well over a month to see a steady income daily. It is through this effort I was able to buy the other one. There are those who spend as many hours and some even more hours on tp, than those who just spend their time whacking away at something. Should those who study the market not receive rewards for their time when that time is equal to or greater than the majority of players?
I am 100% for the prizes to be awarded to those who win this tourney. How can we say those who pve only should have rewards that are off limits to others when they spend as much time in the game. After all, how many ap chest have we got that gave pvp rewards and many to people who have never set foot into pvp? There are many components to this game, not just pve.
(edited by danielrjones.8759)
Really like this idea, I know I will never have a chance at it. But certainly feel those who have spent 1000’s of hours in pvp learning this aspect of the game deserve it.
I didn’t read all the complaints on this thread. Seen some say its not fair they should be able to get this reward in such a short amount of time.
If you truly believe they can get this reward in such a short amount of time that clearly means you have plenty of time to go to pvp learn what they know and take it from them. Then you will quickly find out your several thousand hours behind on pvp to snatch it up.
If anything they should give them a pick from the new skins they are suppose to be working on. Make them really stick out from the crowd.
If this is true, this could potentially kills 2 birds with one stone. Crafting would help get rid of the massive surplus of some chef items to encourage people to craft them or this would encourage people to buy through gem store.
Don’t ruin my day bro, reminded me of that video Don’t tase me bro. Which is just what I felt like Wanze did to me when I seen that comment lol.

I’ve read they were leaving several times a day on every site I went to about GW2.
It is clearly Anets fault people didn’t take the time to read about these changes. The least they could have done was go to each persons house and fed the information to them with a spoon.
What is funny to me, all the people who claim to never have time to read the forums are the first groups of people to post on the forums when they screw up.
Rumors tell of a merchant interested in items from major events in Tyria’s recent history, including Blade Shards
I don’t know we can call her a blade shard merchant specifically. Says she will want “items from major events” “including” blade shards.
I’m just wondering what is up with that. Makes me wonder if there will be other items we can exchange for who knows what.
just my 2 cents. I would not be for it. I don’t feel farming for dragonite ore is much different than dungeon tokens. For that matter you actually have to do something for karma. Would it be ok, to ask them to just give karma while I play the tp? After all I would be playing the way I want. Why should I actually have to do something else in the game I would rather not do just to get karma?
Where is the line drawn on “play the way I want” imo to say dragonite should be purchased with karma, then why not any and everything available in the game to be purchased by karma.
(edited by danielrjones.8759)
when buying, make sure to scroll over the item they have in the trade window to be certain someone doesn’t pull a switch on you. As several items will have the same appearance.
It’s been awhile since I read the update when they first announce crafting going up. I thought it was said “all” crafting professions will be going to 500 or something like that.
And this is just speculation, I thought they may give a grandmaster crafting title. It would seem odd to have a title like that, if they did which would be 7/8
Found the comment, https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/looking-ahead-guild-wars-2-in-2013/ Crafting Taken to 500!
We’ll expand all crafting professions to allow them to reach a new milestone: 500 points!

@Smooth Penguin, that last sentence made me really laugh out loud. Made me think of the times I would say to myself. If this toon doesn’t make x amount of gold today he isn’t eating tonight.
Sorry to hear about the lose though. I don’t like to see anyone lose money.
@Mystic, I promised her I wouldn’t spend as much time in GW2 as I did in GW1. (and I haven’t) she happened to see I had 14,000 hours on one account and nearly lost it. I had six accounts. Trying to wean myself.
I couldn’t go a week sleeping on the couch alone. My manliness would certainly be tested. I would be on the do not touch me go play your game list for I don’t know how long. And of course the “go play your game” part would not be something I should do, but more of a dare lol.
(edited by danielrjones.8759)
@Mystic, I certainly believe 200g a day can be done. I have actually done it a couple times over the last 9 months when I started getting serious about the tp. I find it difficult for someone to say they can make 200g everyday 7 days a week and so on. I believe it could be possible I suppose. But standing in la from time to time I have heard that comment many times. "i make at least 200g everyday off the trading post. I found that suspicious.
I do make more than 50g a day. I was only talking about tp flipping. I spend my share farming. Although not as much as I have done. I’m down to 2 hours a day for events and farming.
In order for me to participate in contest of that nature, I would have to disillusion my wife of the fact I rarely play more than 3 hours a day. If she knew the truth, Momma wouldn’t be happy. And we all know. If momma aint happy nobody is happy.
@Lankybird, you need to be careful when relisting, for example when I buy 40 stacks of something I don’t relist them all at once. I guess some people do and it works for them. For example I bought well over 40 stacks of flawless flakes back in December. I didn’t relist them all once they hit 9s I would sell a stack or 2 at a time and watch how the market is reacting to that item over the next few days. Checking spidy a lot. I noticed you said for just a few min work. It never seems like its just a few min work to me lol.
I know many people talk about making massive amounts of gold every day. I would suspect some may. I don’t believe as many do as claim to do so. When someone says they make 200-300g a day everyday I’m suspicious. For me a very realistic amount made daily is 50g, good days 75g and depending on how much time you spend 100g on weekends. Then of course you can make considerable amounts correctly speculating for patch days.
Of course my opinion is only based off my experience. I would be a fool to think there are not people out there who are vastly superior at playing the market.
Your idea is correct, but there are variable you have to watch. As some as mentioned, understanding why the market is moving in certain areas will greatly improve your profit margin. Not understanding is really shooting in the dark.
(edited by danielrjones.8759)
In assets would be hard to say, invested 7.3k for chef/jewelry. have 3 storage guilds each with 250 slots, 2 completely full one about half. 2k invested for pre hunt when it gets here. 1.3k liquid. I’m not going to count, but 2 legendairies. one ascended armor set. I cannot count them as an asset as they no longer have value since they are soulbound. I really don’t spend much on myself anymore.
Have various items worth gold. 3 mystic conduits. No intention of selling for another year or two so cant really count them. Few other less valued items.
I spend about 4+ hours a day flipping. So when I’m reading people are making massive amounts of profit. I’m thinking dang that’s blowing my 15-20% profit expectation out the window.
Thought I was doing good until I read Wanze comment about being able to buy a couple of dozen Eternity. Made me feel poor.
(edited by danielrjones.8759)
Vol, I seen the miscalculation and assume that’s all it was. nothing more. Your reputation still stands lol.
@Essence Snow, I find it hard to believe Anet would actually pull a stunt to flag some accounts vs others. I have some suspicions about MF that I prefer not to post. Because it is merely speculation on my part.
That being said, oddly enough I have more luck on an alt account with the forge than I do with my main. Managed to get three pre cursors off that account and it has less than 300 hours on it. So anytime I throw rares in forge I will do so on that account. Of course a part of me feels like I’m just rubbing a bald head for luck before I go to bat. Which makes no sense, sadly I do it anyway.
Whereas your comment thinking my main account is luckier than most. I really don’t feel that. I farm far more than the average person.
I do believe there is more to mf than what we currently know. Yet again that’s just speculation on my part. I have no proof.
@Dean, I can’t say the numbers on wiki are solid or not, only thing I can say. I know how many rares and exotics I averaged weekly when I was running 100% mf. When I got to 300% that amount did in fact more than double.
Of course some days are better than others. More importantly I was lucky to get one exotic a week – 2 weeks. Now I feel unlucky if I get less than 5 week.
Bear in mind. I have done the exact same thing for many months when farming. I base these numbers on that as well. I would think differently if I had started new farms and or doing more meta events than usual.
I can only attest to my experience with magic find. I am sure there are tens of thousand of people who have maxed mf and could weigh in on the subject.
For the longest time I didn’t bother with maxing magic find. Reading various post regarding how useless it was and thought with this many people saying so many negative things about it. Made me believe there was truth in it. Pretty much sold every drop. Got really bored one day thought it was something I would work on. I went from 100k mf points to the 4.3 mil it takes in a fairly short amount of time.
Once I was finished I noticed a significant change in rares and exotic drops.
Hence I have been a huge supporter of those working to max mf.
Would I do the grueling task of maxing mf again. In a heartbeat I would. After realizing the difference. So when I see people making negative comments on mf. It causes me to pause. But that’s just me.
I am unsure if I understand this post, was going to say. Maximum one can reach mf is 565% excluding the additional mf one has from ap.
I cannot comment on how much difference 10% makes. I can comment on how much 562% can make vs. 100% 200% ect. I noticed a considerable difference the times I was able to maintain that percentage. I kept track for some time. I did the majority of testing with 357% vs 507% the calculations which have already been posted by others as to what is expected are fairly accurate. Even considering rng.
It is possible I’m completely missing the point, on several meds fighting the flu off.
(edited by danielrjones.8759)
Same here with the crystals, felt the same as it being a poor investment. They are not currently selling well enough for me other than put them in a guild vault for now.
And certainly on same page regarding incandescents, had a feeling those would come into play later on. Specifically for the reason you mentioned. Felt it was a given. So have been stocking up on my share for some time now.
Been focusing so much on possibilities for chef lately doing research on every single ingredient what it can be crafted into, then recrafted as a lvl 400. I have let down some on speculating for jewelry. I started working my speculation for jewelry a month after they announced all crafting would be going to 500, hopefully I’m set for that one.
Chef has my concerned the most at this time.
At this time I don’t believe there is nothing chef can throw at me I’m not covered on very well except timegated stuff or something new they may add, but in doing so. I feel the possibility of bad investments have made their way into my vaults.
You all are certainly making me rethink the orbs/crystals. Thankful people like to post their comments on this.
I sincerely hope all the tp players do well, I like seeing everyone make a lot of money.
(edited by danielrjones.8759)
hmmm, 250 ea. following the Triforge route is something I had not considered. I only have roughly 5-6 stacks left of the higher ones. still 10 of the cheap ones.
imo logical speculation on your part if they go with legendary trinkets. Thanks for pointing that out.
@Vol, 11k profit sounds nice. I was estimating about 10k on my part. It really depends on what silver and gold go to, as well as the decisions I’ve made speculating on chef.
@Wanze, I completely agree with your comments regarding orbs. I didn’t buy 50 stacks of each of them. Only had 10 stacks of each, have been selling some off when I can. Hope I’m not doing the wrong thing.
I have put far more into speculating on chef than I thought I would. Got pretty lucky when flawless flakes where selling around 3s and was able to dump 30 stacks for around 9s kept some, since they are used by chef and jewelry. Not really sure what will happen to them after patch, figured worse comes to worse hopefully I will be able to use them for leveling those 2 professions some.
I hope everyone has a happy and profitable turnout on the upcoming changes.
look for the ones when you complete all 3, it gives you a fourth title. There are several of those like elite skills, cartography and vanquish. Work those during the week and others that give bonus points for weekend events on weekends. If you plan ahead and work cartography, skill hunter and vanquish ect. It can save some time. 30/50 shouldn’t take you that long.
I agree people need a thicker skin. Allowing someone you didn’t know existed until they started trash talking offend you. Is a weakness imo. Not that I condone this behavior. But really its not like you are going to have them over for Thanksgiving or something.
Also says a lot about those who defend this type of behavior. Why would you even care what they have to say. They are nobody to you, will always be nobody to you, if they died the next day in a car crash, you would not care nor know. So why do you care what they have to say?
It is common knowledge most trash talkers only do that to hide behind their own inability to play. just smile and nod, and keep playing.
