Master of Fragmentation did not take the confusion and might buffs; it took Precise Wrack (F1), Confusing Cry (F2), Imbued Diversion (F3), and Masterful Reflection (F4).
Oh, ok. So now Main builds will lose %33 confusion duration, and cannot get any of the shatter improvements that are all baked into Master of fragmentation. That is even worse. %33 confusion duration should stay as a adept trait atleast.

According to the Miller’s acticle, human short term memory can keep track of 7+2 objects at once. That is consistent with my experiences, keeping track of 1 characters abilities (10-20) is a struggle.

In Market research there’s a thing called ‘Sample Size’. It just so happens that WoW has 2-3 times the sample size of Gw1, which means the numbers hold more weight. Also in Market Research you also focus on trends and timeframe, GW1 was released 10 years ago, I can name a ton of things that worked 10 years ago but hold absolutely no weight in modern game design. The games i mentioned (WoW/FF14/WS/SWTOR) are all still being played at this moment by millions of players, so are still very relevant when analysing gaming trends. So the current gamemode wasn’t enough off a MOBA ripoff for Aanet? 5v5, objective based, 3 lanes/3 points? Do Aanet honestly think that’s why it failed? Weren’t the hundreds of threads on release begging you to stop trying to be a MOBA with the objective based PVP enough of a tell?
MMO PVP is NOTHING LIKE a MOBA, each class has 20+ skills at their disposal, multiply that by 10 and 5v5 combat becomes a AOE zergfest, just like Battlegrounds in WOW. This is the exact reason 5v5 (and RBGs) failed in WOW, and is a complete dead bracket right now. WoW, FF14, WS, SWTOR all went with 3v3/4v4 arena as their main PVP gamemode for this reason. MMO PvP is complex enough as it is, just keeping track of 3 classes skills at one time in a 3v3 (60+ Skills) while managing your cooldowns perfectly in coordination with your teammates is what MMO PVP is about.
You DON’T need to make EVERYTHING objective based. GW2 has been out almost 2 years and players in hotjoin STILL don’t care about playing ring around the rosey in the circles, do you honestly think anyone outside top tier pvpers will care for all the objectives in your MOBA gamemode? This isn’t a MOBA where you only have 5 skills and click to move, simple combat systems. MOBAs NEED objectives because the combat is so SIMPLE.
New players already get a headache when learning a new MMO from the vast number a skills each class has (Which you NEED to know for PVP), then you want them to master all your objectives in PVP, AND ontop of all that somehow find 4 players with similar skill level/schedule/timezone/comparability just so they can enter SPVP? How many gokitten barriers of entry do you need? In almost every other MMO you just need to find 1 or 2 similar players (Which is easy because they have a DUELING system that doesn’t require a ridiculous KOTH server and a 10min wait) and you can just go straight into rated arena, and duke it out like men and learn the other classes abilities as you go. Without getting yelled at and getting a headache from not knowing what Orbs do, or what a guild lord is, what’s the point in standing in the circles on the ground etc.
Maybe you should start looking at other MMOs PVP gamemodes instead of MOBAS and ask yourself why they are successfull/failed Aanet. Why did 5v5 fail in WOW yet 3v3/2v2 were so popular? Why did RBGS fail in WOW whilst arena flourished? Food for thought.

You’ve obviously never been involved in online esports before, DDOS’ing is so rampant that nearly every top player in other games uses a proxy for skype, and will do whatever possible to keep their IP hidden. Blizzard and Riot employees have released statements with info on how to prevent DDOS’ing in the past, as well as many forum posts and guides.
They took the countermeasures they had available to keep the tourney legit.

No, it has EVERYTHING to do with Aanet, If your involved with any online esports you should already know how rampart DDOSing is, that’s why nearly every other online esports has inbuilt features or rulesets to cater for this problem. Whether its a pause feature in most moba’s and rts, or to replay if a DC happens within certain amount of time like how online WoW tournaments do it.
Politely asking the other team if they would be kind enough to replay a game is NOT a countermeasure for DDOSing. (LOLworthy when you consider they were most likely involved with the DDOS)

To any wannabe gw2 esports kids, all someone needs is your skype username to get your IP, and then run a simple ping script to DDOS you which can be created even in notepad. So use a proxy for skype or use voicecomms with inbuilt IP protection.

The funny thing is the map was designed without glass panels and some genius (Sharp or Peters) thought that adding the glass panels would make for exciting game play.

I think too many people are underestimating the importance of keeping the ‘top’ players. These players have a louder voice than the casual population along with more visibility. When famous players like Teldo, Xeph, Phantaram etc who averaged hundreds of views on twitch and have big followings all quit the game because of Aanet incompetence, it can severely sway public perception.
Aanet have always undervalued these players and the game has suffered because of it imo. Like just after release when Aanet perma banned Gw2’s biggest streamer Kripp who was pulling 10k views on twitch for a minor mistake he made on stream. He then began to voice his dislike of Aanet/Gw2 on stream and his youtube channel and eventually quit the game, taking with him thousands of stream views and potential players.
On topic, for almost 10 years competitive wow players have been fighting over gladiator titles, so I think that is enough proof as to the strength of title distribution as a reward. Even something as simple as a unique back piece or weapon skin to the top 100 soloQ/teamQ could do the job. When you think about it it’s unbelievable that 2 years into Gw2 and there hasn’t been ANY unique rewards for the top players. Even if they just brought back the 8 team tourny system with gem prizes for 1st and 2nd as a daily or weekly event, with each winning team getting a token which can be used to purchase a unique skin when you have gathered enough.
As for players coming back, at this point I think a new gamemode with a separate ladder is the only way to bring back the top competitive players that have quit.

Just what a load of crap. You honestly think any player was intimidated by a jewel that came inbuilt to the amulet that didn’t force any choice unless you wanted to change it. And to say that the tiny stat allocation of the jewel affected balance in any way shape or form is just a slap in the face to any semi intelligent player.
This just makes no sense, you guys keep talking about bringing PVE and PVP together and then you go the total opposite direction with a stupid change like this. If you want to lessen the option shock in SPVP the best way to do it would be to increase the stat weight of the jewels so players can mix n match to find their perfect stats with less available choices. Instead you’ve taken away jewels completely and will try to add a bunch more amulets to compensate which increases option shock tenfold.

DE needs to be moved down or made inbuilt, Just like Thiefs mug trait it is a %100 necessity, except luckily for thieves mug is a adept trait. If mug can be a adept trait then DE should be aswell otherwise mesmers will continue to be forced to make builds with 20 pts less because we need DE.
The mesmer class feels incomplete without DE, which is a much deeper issue but i doubt it can be addressed without a expansion or something.

Perplexity runes should buff confusion specs, it shouldn’t turn you into a confusion spec.
Make it like the torment rune and increase the +%confusion duration and remove the confusion procs.

This is a big slap in the face for Pvp’ers, more than 1 accessory is too complex for us but Pve’ers get 6 accessory’s with jewel slots in each.
In the amulet thread awhile ago most people were asking for more stat diversity by increasing the stat weight of jewels or adding an extra accessory but as usual Aanet goes the exact opposite direction. Now my condi/power hybrid build goes down the drain and i’m left with going full glass power.

So as they said on Readyup the idea behind this new trait is to land a interrupt and then use a mantra heal, but did they forget that restorative mantras is the lowest scaling heal we have. +1000 healing power increases regeneration close to %100, ether feast by %20, but only increases mantra heal by %8.
If we land a interupt and we get a massive 1000 healing power, our mantra heal goes from 2600 to 2800. Do the devs even think through their changes?

For Spvp mesmers have to build specifically for condition removal and lose dps, utility (boon removal) and survival (decoy or blink)kittenter spec.
Compare this to a thief who doesn’t have to sacrifice anything. Shadowstep removes 3 conditions and infiltrators strike removes 1 on return(with no CD), aswell as 45sec cd lyssa cd with basilisk. It would be like us having blink remove 3 conditions and illusionary leap and phase retreat removing 1. It makes more sense for the staff to have condition removal than the thiefs teleporting skills imo.

Ah ha, you brought me to my next question xantosnightwish, when should balance patches come in relation to the season? If we had our perfect world, how often would balance patches happen and how would that affect the duration of a season? Some people have suggested fairly lengthy seasons which is at odds with more frequent balance patches. If a balance patch comes out should there be a waiting period before the season begins? If so, how long?
This is the biggest problem i see in GW2 right now. You need to differentiate between balance patches and hotfixing/tweaking patches. In WoW for example just like Gw2 they have the big balance patches that will overhaul class mechanics at the end of arena seasons, but they constantly hotfix outlier abilitys/classes between those major patches. If you don’t do this then PLEASE do not incorporate seasons because it will just become a detriment to pvp.
The current system is unacceptable. For example healing signet right now is imbalanced, the devs confirmed it 2 months ago on ‘ReadyUp’ and notified us that a fix is incoming, yet we have to wait 3 months (maybe more?) for a simple fix to a broken mechanic because you refuse to make any class balance changes outside the designated ‘balance patches’. If this was during a season the WHOLE season would be ruined due to a simple coefficient tweak. If you’re going to introduce a ladder you need to take responsibility and maintain class balance throughout the season. Especially in Gw2 since we don’t have a PTR where thousands of players can thoroughly test each incoming change.

I hope you realize how bad you just made yourself look. I can’t name ANY top thief in solo or team queue that runs a permastealth d/p build. It is a liability for a team.
Stay focused on PW. It doesn’t need a lot of changes. It just needs the evade removed. That won’t impact top players that much but will raise the skill cap a bit. That’s a good thing.
That’s because you dont play at high level, Caed, Xii Xii, Lux, infact in NA d/p is the premiere build amongst the top players. You wouldn’t know this because you’re a WvW and hotjoin hero.

If you are dying to thieves in a 1v1 you should prolly head into the obsidian sanctum to practice against some thieves
You got embarrassed by Sensotix last time you tried to troll a mesmer thread spouting the same garbage. Thief > mesmer is one of the hardest counters in the meta atm.

The meta is almost picture perfect, where tanks are tanky, conditions actually do stuff, glass cannons don’t literally 1-shot kill but are still dangerous, and builds with a good balance of offense/defense feel strong and useful as opposed to weak and useless.
But of course, this is not enough to satisfy the GW2 PvP forum lurkers. Oh no, of course not.
Says the Warrior lol. I’m sure this meta is awesome from your POV. This meta is a joke compared to the old meta. The general skillcap was much higher before with d/d eles, shatter mesmers, condi engis, pre duumfire necros and glass 100b wars. Now its Hambow wars, Spirit rangers, PistolWhip thieves, Decap engis and tanky condi spam.

Most of these are 1v1 changes. 1v1 is irrelevant in this game.

Im sure you have grand plans, but you NEVER stop balancing classes. That is a fatal error in MMO’s. This whole problem would be diffused so easily if you just put in: -%8 healing signet fix and fix bugged spirit of nature in this upcoming patch. These 2 outlier abilitys are the main reason for all the angst at current class balance. The sad thing is they are simple coefficient tweaks which don’t take any time or effort to fix and have been broken for over half a year.
Just because you want to impress us with a big feature patch doesn’t mean you hold back on fixing broken outlier skills. This meta which we’ve been stuck with for over half a year is as skill-less as you can get. 2 of the most skillfull classes Ele and Mesmer have been replaced with Spirit rangers, Hambow Wars and Pistol Whip thieves.
