After my update, I now here Random NPC voices, no matter where I go on the map. “voices like a charr saying turret is up” etc, all kinds of random NPC lines from different classes. Male and female, and I play a male Norn. Also when I run the desktop shortcut, it now does not run from the installer like it use to. A window pops up and says. “User account control, Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer.” Yes or No. The program is from Arenanet. I did nothing to my PC before this update, and the installer worked before, now this window pop up after.

Same. Random NPC voice bugs, after the newest update. No mater where I am at on the map.
A few nights ago 800 gems was worth sbout 8g. Looks like you had bad timing. Lol
I don’t see what is so funny. If the gem vs gold market is this unstable. Then the devs need to dracticly lower the qualifications of a ledgendary. Sure a small handfull of people have legendaries, but did they get them legitly? Or just bought all their gold from gold sellers to help speed up the qualifications of all the stuff needed for a ledgendary? All the bots still in game tells me otherwise.
TBH I don’t think we will see any major updates, and fixes until after Wintersday. The time GW2 came out we had 2 major events, Halloween, and the Karka event, now Wintersday is around the corner. So that will be the main focus for now. So since the game came out we had all these events going on. So hopefully things change after the Wintersday event.
Or buy the gold. It’s a cash-shop game, after all.
It doesn’t work that way. If you buy gems for gold, the payout of gold is pretty low. Last time I bought 2800 gems for $35 I got 15 gold back from trade. An awful lot of RL cash just for a mere 15g. It still does not even put a dent in all the qualifications for one Legendary.
Im a guardian, I can solo a young karka with only losing 5% hp. I can face tank a Vet karka with only using hammer auto attack and AH (though a dodge now and again may be involved). I can tank 5 young karka at the same time and come out laughing.
The only thing dangerous about karkas are their 1 skill. Wall of Reflection = instant win.
They should have just made this into a dungeon level difficulty area. Its too boring as it is. Not much variety. Karkas are no challenge at all.
Mobs too difficult? god no. GW2 battle mechanics means you have to be a bit more proactive then to just click and attack like other MMO’s. Learn to play. You will live longer.
Well unless your a guardian and can just tank through just about everything in the game. Its understandable why we got the nerf bat so many times
So you are just the best of the best of the best, good for you to think like that. What about the squishy classes? A lot of Squishies feel the damage is to high for them. Get off your high horse. Just because you can waltz through the area, it doesn’t mean everybody can.
The damage these beasties do need to get toned down some.
Battlefield 3 is one beauty of an FPS. (PC)
As long as you do not mind NPC’s saying “F” this and “F” that, Shiat this and Shiat that. Your character also cusses… ALOT.
But the graphics are amazing and the sound affects are to. “From dripping water sounds when it is raining, to a stray cats meow when in urburn war zones. to the sound of a pin pull from grenades.”
I hate the place. I think creature attacks need to get toned down. The last time I was there was the day after the main event, and I had to respec my skills, just to last a little longer when attacking these insane amount of damage attack mobs.
“I guess it doesn’t illuminate because of performance issue”
Exactly why it does not.
Add, for what? Guild logo’s. We already have Guild weapon and armor skins, + banners.
But adding cloaks and capes, the devs will have to remodel ALL armors to compensate for a cape or cloak, then add animation on top of that. Then redo the long hair and dresses/robes animation. So these animations match the cape or cloak animations in sync. Imagine 100 players in WvW with all these new animations. You think you got some lag now when there are a numbers of things going on, on your screen.
There is a fine line between a challenge and being annoying. Orr is annoying. But those fresh 70’s/80’s in Yaks Bend, ask for Shavo in map chat when you are in the fort trinity area, it is my 80 charr warrior, I will help you atleast get to cursed shore, where the Exotic Karma Vendors are at.
I am pretty sure there is a group event that happens by breaking a wall down. To enter the Ruins of Orr first, out of fort Trinity so keep an eye open for that event poping. I help with that, and I try to help fresh 70/80’s get to cursed shore. I offer to help because I know how much of a pain in the ars it was just to get to cursed shore.
I am all for new unique crafts like this. But imagine trying to fish and Risen start mobbing the piss out of you. The devs will have to add new recipes and such. I mean what are we gonna do when we catch the fish, use the chef recipes to cook them?
If you’re having a hard time staying alive as a guardian…..you’re doing it wrong
Guardians have so many self-heals and defensive boons there is no need for a huge health pool.
Play around with your build or ask someone who knows what they are doing for some advice
Who said anything about having a hard time to staying alive? We just want a bigger life pool. Just because we want a bigger life pool it does not mean we die a lot. People always got to jump to conclusions in here..Sheeesh.
If it was up to me, I would not have any jumping puzzles in game at all. I never liked Metroid, and I dispised Mario Brothers. But a lot of people like them. So they can stay.
To be fair, you had a whole month to do it and you left it to the last minute.
You have no right to complain.
^This
Simple answer. Don’t jump in a queue when you plan on sticking around somewheres for a little while.
He probaly did what most others had done. Buy from a gold seller, By all the mats and stuff off the TP. However the 500.000 skill points needed just got me scratching my head.
If gold were sinking, why wouldn’t we be seeing deflation instead of inflation?
Simple short answer: players who buy from Gold sellers.
“This thread, is to place the facts on the table, and let us discuss how we can attain STABLE gold, or are we even allowed to. This is also a show to ArenaNet that RNG is not the best way to reward players. It is guaranteed rewards that are attractive. The Arah bag farm is proof of that. The negative response to Gem-Store chests are proof of that, as well as the Mystic Forge.”
This is based on the fact on aNets part: The fact is aNet wants some type of RL cash flow, the best way for RL cash flow. is allow players to trade gems for gold in the gem shop. So the objective will be nerf coin drops, add MF in game for gold sinking, put a price on each waypoint for gold sinking. Well you see the pattern here.
It probably has to do with the numerous skills [et al.] involving healing, blocking, condition removal, etc.
Then the devs should cut to the chase of Guardians should just be healers. I would love to have my 80 guardian sitting on a 27k health pool like my 80 warrior does. The weird thing is why break ALL classes down to:
Support
Damage
Control
When a Damage build Guardian should have a higher health pool vs a Support or Control build guardian.
Hey folks, a few details?
Your gear downscales with you in proportion to your level. If you’re level 60 and you have a weapon which is 55 then it’ll be fine within a zone whose range is closer to your real level. But if you go to a spot where you are scaled down to level 10? Your gear will be effectively level 9. Not a big deal?
What if your gear isn’t as up to date? Or what if you’re not 60 but 80 and have gear which isn’t up to date?
That was a problem I was informed about midway through September as I asked /map what was the deal and someone was kind enough to tell me I should look into gear closer to my level.
still does not explain, being an 80 with all 80 gear, downscaled to, say….a level 10 zone, that the 80 seems a little squishier vs a level 10 character that is in the zone. It just does seem a little off.
Just tell me why I here noises coming from the sewer grate in Devinity reach, where the supposive sewer collapsed at? Also tell me why when I cross the rope bridge I see things flying around deep in the whole the bridge crosses? I want to know what is at the bottom of the gaping hole, and what is lurking in the Devinities reach sewers.
Deathwing
wrong game
I would like to know this aswell. There should be no excuse for a magic caster squishy have’n to go into melee range. My guardian as a pretty low health pool, for it to have to be in melee range most of the time.
I think it should get looked into some more. The downscaling does seem a little off. To the point that you feel a little squishier when you are a level 80 downscaled to a 10 zone.
What also needs a huge tweak are hit boxes and how off they seem. But that is an entirely whole new thread.
Although a handful of folks tested MF relentlessly for a few weeks straight, and noticed it did not improve their drops at all, being 100% each of MF. They think, and I agree to them, that MF is just another tool for coin sinking in game. I thought it should be removed entirely, do to it wasteing an important stat slot, and the chance of players with MF getting the first choice of rares and exotics off the loot table vs someone with no MF at all.
But I thought about it for a good while, and I came up with a conclusion.
What if MF was only used as a buff only. Kinda like how the banners work. The buff will autoactivate when you get in a group. That way it could lead to players grouping more often. All of us in the group get the MF buff, and we still have our important stat slots.
Well guilds are getting harder and harder to come by in GW2. Sure you see the ads, everyday. Heres the thing what happens to MOST guilds, although their ads say PVE/sPVP/dungeons/WvW. What they really mean is the guild will pick one of the four and stick to doing 1 of the 4 all the time.
But there are so many adcheivements that can be aquired doing things as a guild, in all aspects of the game. I was in a great guild with vent that advertised the things above, and it ended up being Straight WvW only, and if you where doing PVE then you would get kicked after three warnings.
Did I get kicked? No..I left the guild do to false advertisement. DO NOT tell me how to play the game that I paid for.
So unless you find a nice size guild that stands on their ad, that does exactly what their ad says, then stay in that guild, but it is unlikely that will ever happen. So basicly being in a guild is not always a good idea for PVE. You are better off making a guild yourself, and just using the bank tabs.
(edited by drifter.8453)
Jealousy, probaly. But you have to admit a lot of commanders just bought that tag, to show everybody how rich they are(a-bit of an eggo boost of the wearer of the tag) You get a couple of commanders that take that tag seriously, and do what they are met to do. Lead…Problem is there are more commanders with tags that do not have a clue on how to lead at all.
So more commanders that just got it to show how rich they are exist MORE in game then commanders that know how to lead a group. Is why all the haterd on tags.
First off, I never once set foot in a dungeon do to what the OP has experienced. I got a few 80’s and neither of them set foot in a dugeon. The problem I see here is the cesspool known as the WoW community playing GW2.
Second, why do people ask for 80’s for a low level dungeon, I thought you get autoadjusted anyways to match the level cap of the dungeon? Heres the thing, the devs designed that dungeon specificly for the level you are suppose to be when doing it, people say they have more skills unlocked. But if the dungeons where designed for, said level brackets, then you having more skills unlocked should not matter in these dungeons.
So, you don’t like cliffs and you don’t want invisible walls?
You do know that the game can’t be unlimited in size, right?
They NEED to have ways to “end” the map.I have yet to encounter a single invisible wall for that matter.
The invisibles walls are there. I am an explorer myself. So many times I may come across a slope of a hill that I know for a fact is climbable, I can not get on that slope do to an invisible wall.
Removing them however, may be a bad Idea do to exploiting a certain zone to avoid mobs. Mobs that the devs place, and want you to engage just to reach an objective. If there where no invisible walls then anybody can get a full map completion, without once engaging a mob.
Look at the Karka event before the initial event. The Hive entrance was blocked by rocks, however if you want to the far right of the rocks there was hole in the invisible wall enabling players to get inside the hive, before the event blew them rocks up. I seen a zerg on the other side of that rock wall in the hive, that was suppose to be blocked off with rocks, and an invisible wall.
So Exploiters will exploit if giving the chance to.
Exploration(ive already done on my 80 warrior, i have no desire to do it again) heart quests you will still be way under leveled by the time you 100% that area, killing random mobs? sorry i want to get to 80 in under 3 months. also personal story will also only get you so far, most the PvE exp comes from events. crafting? sure if your have the money. Also soloing the events? yea sure with my warrior no problem, but im playing my ranger, that couldnt solo opening a door by himself.
Depends if you are planing on getting a legendary for your ranger or not, is where MOST of your time will go legitly. If you just want another 80, it does not take long to get there, doing as what you said you do not like to do.
I could not bother with the legendary, do to not having the paitents for one, if I go down the legit way. But all the mat, Karma, and gold grinding stops me dead in my tracks. I been playing since release, and I got 3 80’s 1 in full exotics, and the others in half exotics. I would had another 80 if I worked on it more I am more then half way there on that character. So it does not take as long as you think, to get another 80.
K not sure what you are trying to compromise in the post. Do you just want people to know that you got a legendary. Because if you did, you should know the basic, and fastest way to level up by now.
Should be able to take said candy corn and extract to basic materials. Sugar…whatever.
That is a fantastic Idea. Suger is used in a few other recipes, why not?
I don’t get it. You said you die alot in WvW, and you ran out of money for repairs, and you think the only way to get gold is doing dungeons for WvW?
You do not have to do dungeons for WvW. There are many places to earn gold, not just in dungeons. Take a break from WvW and play the PVE game. Do events in Tyria, do map completions. Just running around killing things for map completions, you can cash in all the vendor trash loot to get some coin. Completing events gives some coin.
You start tipping people then everybody and their families will start chareging people for dumb things. Look what happened in GW1. People where constantly charging players to help them get from point A to point B.
For those not familiar. We had waypoints in GW1, and a lot where very far from one another. Each Waypoint in GW1 where quest hubs. We had to get to the next waypoint, just to continue questing. If you did not get the next waypoint you ran out of quests.
Basiclly. each renowned heart, and vistas between each point of intrest in GW2, well imagine GW2 with no Renowed hearts and vistas at all. Point of intrest where like waypoints in Gw1. We could not advance in GW2 untill we got to the next point of intrest(IE quest hub) So you start tipping people then everybody else will expect coin off of you from them helping you all the time. No, just no.
The second chance depends on their “compensation” for the poorly executed event they had during weekend on the people who participated.
What gets me is they make this legenadary skin, and they make a laundry list of Mats. Skill points, Karma points, gold, and 400 in crafting, etc. I don’t care who you are, but it is a major grind to gather all this stuff up for any average joe/jane(unless you just buy your way to a legendary like most had done already)
So you set out and a very slow tedious pace start crossing stuff off this list, the event pops up and BAM! few players get precursors handed to them. People get disconnected, lag, overflow load times, culling, Waypointing load times. Whatever their cases, prevent them from looting the chest.
I think aNet seriously needs to test their events before releasing them, or even upgrade their servers a lot more. Because being an MMO, there will always be a large amount of players contesting the zone where the event takes place. If they can not handle the masses of players then they need to get out of the MMO industry, and go to single player games instead. We can only see how they handle their other events, before people give them a second chance.
I dunno 15-30g seems awfully high. Unless that is what it is supposed to have been, but for some reason, like MF gear could had affected the drop totals. One of my characters was able to loot the chest, my other 80’s got disconnected in the overflows.
The total upon looting the chest was in the ballpark of 2-4 gold worth in the loot that was in the chest for me with no MF on. I got the bag, 1 Light Exotic(me being a Heavy) the Exotic accessory soulbound piece, 1 level 80 rare, and blues. Including all the vendor trash from all the other mobs.
I think the OP was making most of his/her coin in the TP for selling Orichalcum. They said it their self:
“To farm orichalcum before, you had to:
– Keep track of where the nodes are after each patch.
– Work out a path through Orr where you could survive, move quickly, and not waste too much money on teleports.
– Learn how to survive while running through Orr (possibly even modifying your build for it)”.
^^^ This is challenging, fun, and rewarding.
Now all the people that bought the Ores off of him/her, now can just go and farm the Rich Orichalcum node in Southsun Cove themselves.
And pardon me, but I don’t think changeing a build specificly, just to run around Orr looking for Orichalcum is fun by no means in my book. Respecing cost coin each time we do it. There are FAR to many coin sinks in the game already. I am not gonna waste my coin, just to constanly respec my characters to farm for ore. Thats not fun for me.
I notice the decrease in dye drops, and I also noticed prices skyrocket aswell, they went from 2s to 15s. I also noticed Exotic Staff prices went up aswell. Could be players need more, and more gold for Legendaries, etc, so greed is setting in. AnEt really should think about making more coin drops and less vendor trash, instead of worrying about coin sinking everything in game.
I would guess since Asura are the tinest race, could be an entity of Santa Elves.
MF has nothing to do with other players’ loot drops, it only enhances the chances that a loot drop for the specific player will be of better quality.
If you find solid proof of how loot drops work in the whole game and show me statistics as this is how MF effects or does not effect loot drops, then maybe I will believe you, MAYBE. This is what I see:
LETS SAY the devs set up loot drops on everthing of percentages of loot being Common, Fine, Masterwork, Rare, Exotic, on the servers, and when players on that server, increase their MF percentages, the the loot will seperate, with those that have the highest percetage of MF first.
So the better loot like Rares, and Exotics, gets generator to the MF players first(What ever the % of the type of gear is that will drop goes to the MF wearers) Then whatever is left over, it gets generated to the Non MF players)
So, lets say IF 10% on the whole server Exotics will drop:
That 10% now gets divided to All MF gear first. If 10% of players are wearing MF gear, then the loot table goes to the next Bracket. Rares. Etc.
why don’t you make your own guild, and use your guild bank for slots? We can represent as many guilds as we want to. I was thinking about doing that when I start to accumulate more mat pieces.
While you are partially correct, the real problem is much more fundamental: Solo players can’t compete. The mobs are way too large against single characters.
Further, the few people who ARE there are just moving around, some being particularly dirty while doing it. I wish I had a gold for every player who, having risen chasing him, ran through my character so they would aggro me instead. It’s unbelievable that anybody would do that, but it is worse because it’s so common.
Part of me wants to respond in kind, but I’m just not that kind of player. But, the game REWARDS players for doing this to other players (they don’t have to repair their armor or teleport to rez). Thus, knowing human nature, it’s simply unavoidable.
I think there should be a severe penalty for leaving the aggro zone soon after pulling enemies to another character. It has to be a minimum of 3-4 silver to match what they would have to pay if they stuck around and then died.
Agree. This happens to me so many times I lost count after 1000. People sure love to grief other people. It’s all to common no matter where we go. I think once that player gets aggroed from whatever, the Beasties should lock on the person that aggroed them. So even if I use an AoE on the mob that is chaseing the person, that mob will still be locked on to the person trying to grief me.

Dear Toymaker Tixx,
I do not want, who ever tags the mob first gets the loot to happen anymore.
I want ascended gear removed
I want MF gear removed
I want better loot drops
I want Champs/Vets to drop better loot
I want new 80 zones that can be accomlished with out always having to be in a party
I want a bunch of Tier 6 Mats
I want to not always haveing Blues, and greens drop from boss chests all the time
I want waypoint costs lowered.
Things I wish I would get but most likely wont:
The proper Precursors for the weapons I have on my 80’s(1 Greatsword,1 Axe, 2 Sheilds, 2 Daggers, 1 mace, 1 short bow, 1 staff) 1 legendary Greatsword.
A bag of gold(not copper or Silver, gold).
A Handfull of level 80 Exotic Trinkets.
A couple of 20 slot bags.
A bag of Rare Dyes.
A couple of jugs of 500,000 Karma a piece.
500 Oricgalcum ores
Thank you
(edited by drifter.8453)
I would like to see reduce for needed recipes. Once upon a time, we did not have to salvage Exotics for Ectoplasm, The Ruins of Orr Risen use to drop them. Not sure why it got nerfed. Or did it?
Maybe all the players that are wearing MF, might have something to do the way loot drops. If this is the case, then MF needs to get removed, do to the unbalance of good drops, to those that think stats are more important, then selfishness.
(edited by drifter.8453)
This may explain the majority of the OP’s post:
There is always someone that will put RL asside, to get to Max on everything and gear in any game. What this leads to the; "Keeping up with the Jone’s Attitude. People will not like the fact the someone else has something that they where gonna get eventualy, now all of a sudden it turns out a rat race on people to get there first.
So what you left is? People that are annoyed that now, that they where planning on the goal eventualy, all of a sudden now have to rush to get there. Rushing to get somewheres always turns out to be a grind, on the people that where gonna take there time at first to their goal.
..and what makes you so special for aNet just to give you one, with no effort on your part? You want a Legendary you either have to work for one or buy one like everybody else has to. You apparently have plenty of time for WvW, then take that time, and put it in the Legendary.
Shame the Culturals Cost a lot, and are only in the Rare catagory, The duelist set is only level 78. But, Yeah there are not to many choices to choose from in the medium bracket.
I’m making my way towards the Orr area – 6 zones left to complete the world explorer.
Sounds like people just hate this area because it’s too difficult. Maybe that is the reason – it’s a challenge?
Challenge nahh. It’s more of an annoyance then a challenge. Go Fight some Karka for a little while, then go back to Orr. Then tell me if you rather be in Orr then Southsun Cove.
