I’d like to change my account email, but I don’t see a control for that.

Wouldn’t it be great to just tame any creature you see and make it into a pet?
(I seem to recall being able to do that in GW1.)

How hard can it be to expand the pet base in GW2?

It certainly would add a whole new adventure to level 80 rangers, to go collect more pets!

I’ve played GW1 since it came out, and my kids and I still play it. We haven’t explored the whole world there yet because it’s so big!

What I don’t miss AT ALL, is being forced to walk on a path, like our characters are on a roller coaster or a kiddie-train.

Humans are pretty configurable if you find a Total Makeover Kit, because you get more of the rugged features in that thing.

Charr, I tried. I really tried. I just hate how they all have such bad posture. Hurts my old back just watching them.

Asura. sure. I have one. I keep a full faced helmet on his ugly mug at all times. I just can’t make one that looks decent.

My daughter spent TWO HOURS fiddling with the new character face-maker part, and got what she wanted finally, so maybe that’s the answer for us.

It’s not that they don’t WORK together, it’s that if I just go online and choose a metabuild to stick with because it kicks butt all the time, I feel like I’m missing out on exploring the -character- side of the game.

It’s like buying a lego set and only using the blocks to build what’s on the directions.

Does anyone else here play GW2 for the pure joy of exploration and discovery?

My kids and I spend hours and hours exploring different corners and overlooked places in Tyria, just like we did in GW1, but most of the people we run into complain that our “Builds” are wrong.

We build our characters the same way we approach the rest of the game: to explore different things. Sure, our equipment, traits, and skills may not meet all the requirements for a PvP or WvW beatdown, but we have a great time discovering what each change can do for our GW2 folks.

I was just wondering if there are any other players like us, or if the whole player base is made up of 6 cookie-cutout elite build types?

When my gw2 account was new, I was getting Exotic drops like Arc and X6-31 Beta. Now that I have around 240% mf I don’t get any more exotics. :^/

I’d choose Human because I don’t want to smell like a wet zoo when it rains, so Charr is out. I don’t want to look like santa’s elf just took a shovel to the face, so Asura is out, and I don’t want to be a weed.

Necromancer (pure summoner with all traps staff, and axe/dagger) with all life-steal.
That seems to work wonders with my current necro, every time one of my little dead buddies hits I get health, so I really just stay back and AOE the place while they do the hard stuff.

I get the exp from their kills, and the loot. Also, if you really kitten me off I’ll just turn into Death and shoo you away.

going to the toilet appears to be the main reason people defend the afk’ers. why is it, no one evey has to go to the toilet when it comes time to get the end chest or rewards? Let the chest spawn after vw and eveyone and their min pet is there picking it up. afkers must be really good at pinching it off.

I thought the personal story was cool, but I also played GW1 extensively and read the books. Having access to that Tryia history, and actually PLAYING in it in gw1 really makes the gw2 Personal Story much more enjoyable. When they talk about the old people, places, and events, my kids and I get all excited and say, “Cool! We were THERE! WE DID THAT!” thanks to playing GW1 for years.

I have several level 80 characters, and I’m STILL exploring the world! Tyria is so big with so many beautiful and hidden locations, it would be foolish to assume I’ve seen them all just because of a NUMERICAL Map Completion guide.

Fractals dungeons are a whole new world of quests, maps, and experiences.
So are the regular game dungeons, and they have several “Paths” which refer to Story Lines to play, each different from the other and all with fun bosses and rewards!

Instead of looking on the internet for locations of jumping puzzles and secret areas, my kids and I go out into Tyria like real imaginary explorers and discover them ourselves! It’s really quite exciting when you think you’re just looking at another ol’ cave then it turns out to be a whole hidden area inside!

How about this: if your character is standing in one place quietly for too long, it gets auto-targeted by some giant meany.

Suddenly, AFK wouldn’t be so rewarding

I got Diablo 3 on the 360 after playing it for 2 years on the PC.

The WORST inventory mechanics EVER. Skills were all over the place on the controller, scattered across whatever buttons were available during combat.. it’s a nightmare.

If you don’t have weapon swapping unlocked on that char, if you go to Lions Arch and go through the PvP portals (Heart of the Mist), you can slot a second weapon set and when you leave the PvP lobby, you’ll be able to use weapon swap. .

What??? So simple?! That’s awesome!

This smacks of buying a shirt without trying it on, then complaining about how terrible you think it looks when you wear it.

This is not a complaint about how the game currently works, just a suggestion.

My kids and I have played the GW series since GW1 first came out, so we’re old pros at the game mechanics.

We have the Deposit All Materials button, that is a MAGNIFICENT improvement over the old GW1 method of single deposits and having to go TO the chest. Thank you for that.

We can currently right-click on a stack and Sell All at BL Trading Post – another fine improvement!

I think an additional right-click menu for consumable stack items would fit well with this convention you have already deployed in our inventory. If this menu allowed players to select Consume All, Open All, or Use All, I think this might end up being one of the most used controls in the game.

Last month I increased my net worth by 4k gold (that is after buying goodies for myself, although I haven’t really made any expensive purchases in february.) I’m aiming for 5-6k+ gold gained this march alone.

I spend about 2 hours in the game per day to manage my investments and research new markets, and track them throughout the day with my nifty spreadsheet. My markets change almost on a daily basis depending on what’s profitable at the time, but when you start having large sums of money, making more is not hard at all, even without ugly market manipulations.

That market and investment stuff sounds like a lot of fun, even apart from the gold reward! The GW2 economy is so extensively interactive and involved, it’s like an entire adventure in itself!

I believe it takes 31 days or so for the restrictions to go away completly. You can raise your current limit by playing.

Ain’t really fun playing on different region when lagging :/
Also, Im at 6 days now.. Guess I’ll just sit and wait those 31 days, then?

Can’t you put it in a guild bank and extract it with the other account?

I made 300 gold just selling materials and un-broken yellow drops in the TP last month. That’s just from overflow items I didn’t need from Silverwastes. I wasn’t grinding or farming for stuff, I was just having fun with my daughter’s guild and with loads of other folks there, and the gold was a surprise bonus when the stuff all sold!

I thought the OP was trying to send gold from his old NA laggy account to his new account based on the assumption that the new account would have the lesser amount of gold.

Last Friday my son started a whole new account, playing GW2 for the first time. I sent his dude 10 gold just after he got out of the introductory story line, and it worked fine.

His restriction was, that he couldn’t use the guild bank until he was in the guild for 3 days, so I mailed him the backpack upgrades my daughter had stashed in the guild bank.

try chatting to the whole map. You’ll get better replies there.
type /M in the chat window, then press [enter] to switch to map-chat.
switch back to Say mode (talk to those in your immediate vicinity) by entering /S

They could also introduce a stack size increase in Inventory from the gem shop, much like the one for the bank.

I would spend gems on that!

The bedroom in Minister Wi’s Mansion is cool. two beds (mrs. Wi not too happy with him?) and a huge open wall that overlooks Divinity’s Reach streets.

It’s not HIDDEN, it’s just a cool place you don’t need to go but so much effort was put into it anyway.

- have the GW1 soundtrack and all expansion soundtracks. I sometimes listen to them while playing GW2. IMHO the music in gw1 was much better,
- love the outdoors. we have a lake and spend most warm evenings out there. In the winter, it’s warmer in Kryta.
- fav bands: The 087 and depeche mode
- fav tv: doctor who (kids and I have seen every episode since 1963)
- girlfriend? lol! women in MA don’t play xbox and GW2!
- fav movie: too many movies to choose from, but I love the Exploration movies like Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider.

I’ve played GW2 on a three-monitor system, and the centre screen is what I see on a single screen system, while the left and right screens actually extend the FOV accordingly. It’s already part of the client.

I started an ele on April 16. Even though the business of not getting trait points each level left me feeling shortchanged, I do appreciate being able to use the 1 point I got to unlock a REAL trait.
