Hi guys, I have not played engi in awhile, been on my Necro and feel like getting my Engi sorted for raid content. I have a full set of ascended power armour. Should I keep it as that or change to Condi Viper.
What is the overall thoughts of the gw2 community on this

Structured Player vs. Player
Added game history to the PvP panel’s home tab.
Added game history to the guild panel’s guild-team tab.
Added an admin list to custom-arena customization.
Removed rank restriction from Conquest game mode.
Added a dismiss button to the match-ready prompt.
My gripe is they state they have removed the restriction to play rank mode, but one of my team mates is rank 12 and we still can’t play.
Can someone explain, we want to do the leagues in our guild but can’t due to this

I feel sorry for them. They cant win. They give the community a expansion pack with new content. That does not require a sub. They then listen to the people of the game and give a character slot. Also explain what there future plans are with there business model.

why are people always complaining about everything?
the difference is barely even noticeable yet people spent around +70g per ascended craft item + the 500 crafting rating they first have to achieve in order to craft ascended armor and weapons.
but obviously others dont value that, while some are willing to go the extra mile and achieve that 5% while the rest just sit on their behind and complain.check out the picture i quickly put together and notice the difference between a warrior’s full berserker ascended + wvw mighty and resilient infusions vs a full berserker exotic and youll see that sometimes its not even worth crafting ascended armor/weapons for those who keep complaining.
ascended trinkets are the only thing worth obtaining and those dont even cost gold.Because they are going to be 10% better with the next patch perhaps?

It’s easier to just test it out and see for yourself. If you have full ascended, go to a low level area. I went to the Twilight Armor dungeon. Look and see what your stats are currently. Take off a piece of equipment and compare.
Also note that the increased weapon strength (the damage range listed on the weapon) that ascended weapons have are not applied when you’re down-scaled.

Anyone know if that extra 5% is gaming changing for pve and wvw.
Sup. I have seen that the difference in game on exotic and ascended armour is gone from 5% to 10%
Now personal i do not care ill play craft ascended etc. But for toons that i have in exotic does this deem them useless or very under powered or is exotic getting buffed as well.
How is it working. In wvw this could be big if the gap gets bigger.
Hello guys im trying to work on a condition build and work on the math for engineer. Basically with ascended rabid gear and sigils, food and runes this js also including traits for now. Im roughly around 1800 condition damage.
So with the new formulas how do i get that on paper and get the math correct. My numbers seem low or way off.
Any advice and help would ve great cheers.

The Baby Sky hammer yes please.You realize you can’t take both of those simultaneously, right? And both of those mean you can’t take the good old “I win” button.
I’m still convinced the moa thing will be a gimmick at best. It will obviously have to be much less powerful than the mesmer moa… maybe moas them for like 2-3 seconds and that’s it. The just pop their 5 skill and get away from your attacks is what will happen. I actually thought it was just a joke, I didn’t think they’d actually make toss elixir X do that. But oh well.
Not really sure how baby skyhammer will work out, seems like it will be more useful as a blast finisher than as a damager… well, aside from PvE where the mobs will just stand in it. Although it would be really sick to knock someone back with your rifle into the AoE of the baby skyhammer just before it hits.
Yup well aware you can not take both. I am stating what I think is cool about it all.
The AOE Moa is cool its like a bad experiment gone wrong ties well with Alchemy and the Elixirs. Thats my idea anyway.
The baby sky hammer has a lot of potential and if you can get 4 of the dam things then even better.

do you know why you take 60044 instead of 60440 in spvp? amr is better than the entire tools line, so its not cuz of speedy kits.
Actually most Engineers on the Eu circuit have swapped to 60062 Because of PI, so pls keep up.
And yes they go the extra 2 in tools for Speedy kits.
its meh of them to do so when every warrior ever is shoutbow nowadays. cuz PI hardcounters hammer warriors and is a wash against everything else compared to 60044.

Don’t ask me, but that is what they have started doing. I suppose outside competitive tournaments you run into all sorts of stuns in yolo queues.
And I suppose the Power Wrench+Inertial Converter has something to do with it. Seeing as Vamp runes are run by almost everyone now, IC synergizes well with it, and I suppose you’d have to be hit in Mist Form (which you obviously can’t be) to get the proc off AMR. And anyone who gets the chance to hit you below 25% after vamp proc finishes will just burst you down?
This is just the guess of a 29 day old Engineer.
You can say why AMR is amazing all you like, it doesn’t change the fact that Speedy kits change was unwarranted and hurtful of the enjoyment of the class for some, I.E. Me. Since Engi is a class I have fallen in love with, it hurt deeply.

To be honest a lot of my pvp builds have been using the inventions speed boost. Much easier.

So next week the condi cap raises to 1500 and conditikns2 have a buff.
I have a full set of zerk armour simple as that. So i do Min/Max. I will go rampagers. Or Rabid.
Would you not say even in pve condition damage will be stronger.

I have got many floating in my head. This helped me get my engi dusted of and play it. Im also thinking a static discharged with these orbital strikes.

Its nice and all but you will spend half your play time running to the fights at a snail pace. ENJOY!

Well here is a question. Next week this is incoming and have been saving stuff to craft a full armour set of a condition base. So which one do we all think would be best for engineers going all out condition damage.
Well I would like to thank Anet for helping me decide on my Profession choice for this game. Over the past few months I have been playing around 3 or 4 different professions and after seening these changes Engineer is where im staying.

I still can’t understand you’re persistance and need to attack me personally because I disagree with you. Look this class is a fail all the way around. It’s essentially operating on a 15 skill condi combo if you’re running 2 kit set+rocket boots. The managing of these skills requires immense focus, and when compared to the relative ease of fighting that other classes have to do the Engineer falls short.
Also I’m not sure where you could assume that I didn’t understand the Bard from EQ. Bards had the fastest movement speed song. Pre Yeksha they could AoE kite better than anyone because they weren’t limited to 4 targets. Bards were given a set role in EQ which focused heavily around the group. But at the same time could perform certain functions that other classes could, but they were given one or two areas where they were the dominant I.E. Movement Speed.
I know many players first reaction to any type of criticism against something they like/enjoy/play as is to attack the person criticizing. However I’m objectively looking at this class. It lacks Condi removal, Engi is shoe-horned into Condi builds, and the Engi is sub-par in terms of effectiveness and ease of class. Again I think a rework is in order. But like always people will ignore that there’s a lack of Engis running around. They’ll just happily accept that Anet openly buffs Guardians, Warriors, Thieves, and Mesmers all the while giving Engis small buffs here and there.
This class needs more love. I will say this after the patch today I have seen more engis than I ever had. However I bet once the Tournament starts up those Engis will be put away for Guards, Warriors, Mesmers, Eles, and Thieves. Leaving the Necro, Engi, and Ranger to go to the wayside. Nothing really has changed here. But keep your head down and keep moving.
Either your a ham/bow warrior moaning because a better player that’s plays engi beat you. Or you just can’t play engi.
Engi 2nd-3rd highest dps profession in game. Staff Ele is top but I believe a mesmer can beat this. But that has some stuff to do with clones. So engi 2nd highest dps profession in the game.
Dungeons my God great in a dungeon. Vun stacks, might stacks, stealth, party healing etc and more.
PvP some of the best games I have played Have been on my engi.
To me I hate easy I like high skill high reward.
Wake up and smell the coffee or go back being a keyboard warrior and play your easy win profession.
Simply to the OP. Start one. Play it. Don’t listen to the gates or the cries. Play it because you want to. Make your own choice. It’s your game.

Myself a main of the engineer, this though took me awhile to decide on this. I always thought I wanted what other players brought to a party. The Engi though does bring a lot of everything.
We are not a mainstream profession in PVE that’s down to lack of understanding of what a good engineer player can do. Now I am not the best Engineer player but after the amount of hours I have put in to it I wont be changing.
I also have a guardian but he feels a bit like a lump of junk just does nothing.
Engineers are good across the game.
Dungeons/Fractals can hold 25 stacks of Vun on a boss with Grenades.
Stacks might, Stealth has main blast finishers and combo fields.
We are also the second highest DPS profession in the game.
Running the 6/6/xxx meta rifle grenade build. I think the math was around 14k including bleeds etc (do not quote me on this but I know I have seen this posted)

Using the Fortified Turret trait makes a great way of bouncing stuff away from you.

My goal is to work out if I had 100%crit damage would I be doing more damage as I would be in the zerk set.
This is not to turn into a discussion that zerk is king and all this. I want to know what is the number of precision that gives you 100%crit chance.
This is what I’m trying to work out. With a build I’m looking at I will lose around 120 power ish. And gain much more precision. Would the damage drop also hurt my dps output.

Scholar only for perfect zerk runs, Strength for everything else
An optimal group does not exist when you have an Engineer around.
@OP, as part of the attractiveness of Engineer is as a Might bot, Strength.
Really this is pretty dumb. You must be the group of people that only like 4 war 1 ele.
If this your thoughts on the engi then you sir have no idea.
I went for strength runes. Will benefit in the long run much more.

That’s a fair reply, is there away to optimise the meta build but with a different set up.

The build is a form of Static Discharge.
I am very unsure on how it hits compared to the meta, so if someone could say if its any good or not would be lovely.
The Vun stacking and might stacking still comes hard, the SD is amazing as well.
