Obvious solution here:
Keep things how they are now, but add an option to still enter manual amounts.
Win/Win for everyone.
Not having this issue myself, so no, it’s a non-deliberate client-side issue. Let’s not jump to conclusions, alright?
I want to say that this is a driver issue since the client limits available graphics settings based on detected hardware. Could also be that you’re on an optimus notebook and the game is using the intel GPU as opposed to your dedicated.
If you want to see bad foliage, play Skyrim out of the box. Guild Wars 2 is above and beyond in comparison.
Overall, GW2 is in a good place, thankfully to its strong, consistent aesthetic. If I could improve anything, it’d be these:
-higher res textures with improved normals (pretty much everywhere, some areas look like they were built back when GW1 was still in its prime)
-higher poly models on older weapons and minor environmental objects. There’s a number of earlier art resources that look awkward next to more recent ones like the BLTC skins due to model quality differences.
-Address armor clipping issues. Not all of them can be fixed, but some can, especially when it comes to BLTC sets.
If Anet addresses those, they’ll have no real contest from newer games imo.
I’ve been getting several frames more over previous builds to be honest.
As a roleplayer, I really don’t see what the big deal is. It just standardizes the chat flow for custom emotes. Nothing to be concerned about, really.
I’d rather Anet just sell a skin unlock for the Hall of Monuments stuff. There’s no way I want to suffer through the tedium of GW1 again.
I think it’s hilarious; very self-aware, and who doesn’t want to be an honorary skritt?
Power builds on necromancer are boring and stacking is for people that haven’t learned how to play an ARPG 99% of the time.
I don’t take my necro out for PvE very often, but I use something similar to Lily up there. Main differences are that:
-I’m running 2/6/0/0/6 as I highly prefer the available traits in Soul Reaping over Spite
-Scepter + dagger/ scepter + focus because I can’t stand the staff.
-Traveler’s runes and energy sigils because move speed and endurance refills are more valuable to me over the extra damage.
Aside from the fun factor, my favorite part of this build is that I can quite literally step over into WvW without having to change a thing… highly convenient with the new season coming up.
trololololololol, sigil of energy in pve is suboptimal.
Dumbest thing I’ve read on these forums for a while.
There’s a reason why I’m almost the only one left standing in dungeons and fractals: because thanks to sigils of energy, I can evade for pretty much forever.
Worth having on every character, kind of like traveler’s runes.
If you honestly can’t figure out the why by now, then you’re never going to get it and frankly, I’m already tired of repeating myself to people like you that don’t give two kittens, anyway.
You’re thread was a regurgitation of many others and happens to have 3 twins on the main page. Excuse us for not taking your imaginary problem more serious when it AND SOLUTIONS have been stated countless times before. IE. You don’t like how others play: find a group who agrees with how you’d like to play. The answers will always be the same when the NON-ISSUE is ALWAYS the SAME. See how that works?
The fact that this is apparently a common thread proves that there is an underlying problem here. If not that, then me coming all the away from the game to the forums to talk about it does because that is something I almost never do as I rarely have complaints with Guild Wars 2.
You may think it’s a non-issue, but when I’m constantly having groups fall apart or people attempting to hijack my own party because they can’t handle a player being more than a pixel apart from another, then that’s when it becomes one for me.
Wow, nice job kittenting on my thread, guys. I don’t even know where to begin wading through this mess.
Look, Guild Wars 2 is an ARPG: adaptability and evasion should be king. If you don’t understand how everyone exploiting the system by huddling in a corner breaks this, then I don’t even know what to tell you.
The whole irony of this is the diehard stackers tend to be the ones that I’m having to peel off the dungeon floor because they haven’t learned what x or y mob actually does.
Look, you may be fortunate enough to roll with a party that has a similar mindset as you, but guess what? Most of us are not so privileged so please take your hostility elsewhere.
This is very much still a problem in the game, and there’s so many simple things that can be done to eliminate it and make dungeon runs more challenging and fun. Is that really so awful to ask for?
Oh look it’s this thread again.
Some of us don’t live on the forums.
Not sure if the engine allows it, but if so, could collision detection be added for players except for dodge rolls like the way mobs are setup? I don’t mean everywhere, just inside of dungeons only.
It’s not big, but it’d go a long way into removing a lot of the cheese factor in dungeons runs.
Good lord, I’m gone a couple of months and these forums somehow got even more toxic. Do these people even realize how bad of an example they set for new players?
Well if anyone not completely concerned about optimization ever wants to do dungeons just P.M. me. I don’t care what build you run I’ll still group with you and we’ll still beat it. Don’t let these kind of conversations dictate how you play.
Same here. As long as you’re having fun I’m cool.
I think you shouldn’t be reading long and boring forum posts such as OP’s and leaving comments because you’re taking a video game too seriously.
…. what?
u maybe just spammed sword 3 when u were using it or u didnt touch sword at all
No spam, and I rarely switch from sword + sword with a pistol offhand unless the situation requires.
Now you’re encouraged to simply press 3->3 before the clone dies, which for a skill as blatantly telegraphed as ileap renders it almost completely useless, other than spawning a clone to shatter.
Which is how I’ve always done it, and it’s worked countless of times in WvW roaming and PvE in general. It’s a great gap closer if you time it right.
So you end up with newer players like medohgeuh.4650, who never grinded the hours for practice or had the need to grind, will never come to appreciate just how important that extra stun breaker is (was) on the mainhand sword.
And judging by his attitude he’ll just blame the other person’s build being op on occasions when he gets wrecked in wvw or pvp.
… newer? My account will be a year old in a few days and my Mesmer was made about two weeks after I started playing the game. And no, why would I grind? What is there worth grinding for in any game, much less Guild Wars 2?
And lol no, I really don’t care about dying in WvW, nor am I a he.
It’s not that you’re disagreeing, it’s that you never noticed this was possible and/or never noticed that you need it sometimes. That’s how we know that you’re either not very experienced or not very good.
So because I don’t go into a game looking for ways to exploit the mechanics, I’m the one that’s bad? Yeah, okay.
Would be way too easy to farm skill points too.
As opposed to all the scrolls of knowledge dropping during every event… ?
So do you people have anything to say other than “ur bad lol” just because I disagree since I’ve played everything but sPvP without ever noticing you could do this?
As if I really care.
Point is, patching an exploit like this has caused no harm to the class whatsoever. The problem is more with clone life expectancy, anyway.
I think the problem here is that you’re taking a video game too seriously, especially when you start using words like “investment”.
I have over 500 hours on my Mesmer and never have I once noticed that you could teleport without the clone. Doesn’t seem like a “nerf” at all to me.
gg ignoring people who care about different gameplay modes than you.
I play both PvE and WvW so I have no idea what you’re on about.
The only issues atm are that both Phantasmal Warden and Illusionary Elasticity are still bugged. These will be fixed in the upcoming days, rest assured. It just comes with the territory of major codebase changes.
Mesmer was fringe viable in fast running dungeon clears. Now it is not because the iWarden is even more broken and the mantra traits were moved.
People were actually killing off all their utility for a damage boost for charged mantras? News to me.
Mesmer is only viable in WvW as a veilbot. Do I get tags when I run my zergmower build? Sure, but I’m useless except as a mobile veil package.
Mesmer can out-duel everything except for maybe a warrior.
Can mesmer roam in WvW? Sure, but you’re slow with minimal chasing power.
Runes of the Traveler, blink, Illusionary Leap, multiple stealth utilities…
We also got vigor nerfed. Our shatters do less damage because of the ferocity change. Promised bug fixes such as the warden fix and IE fix and portal range fix haven’t materialized. iLeap is still broken, and there is no indication of it ever being fixed for the existence of this game.
Sigils of Energy which everyone should really be using. I have not noticed any damage decrease with the ferocity change, either, nor have I had any issues with iLeap.
Also, like I said, more hotfixes will be coming. Have patience.

What is this post about exactly? I haven’t seen any changes to my Mesmer. 0.o
Except the new traits of course.
Beats me. Nothing has changed for the worse.
Well I have to say traveler seems not that useful anymore. You can simply carry a focus around and use any rune with speed dura for a perma speed. Pack, Centaur, they both seem more useful to me.
So i’ll probably go for strength.
… how? Traveler runes barely changed with the update.
I’d prefer hard mode open world maps.
I must still be missing something because I’m sitting in Black Citadel right now and it’s as dead as always with no signs of any megaserver happenings.
And what do you think will happen to the mat prices for 375/400 tier dye recipes once the stockpiles are gone?
Nothing, because people are always harvesting and selling mats on the TP.
Fun isn’t rewarding enough?
Replenishing for a short amount of time, then no more. Dyes have effectively become oil, in that although there may be large stockpiles now, once those stockpiles are gone, there will not be new stockpiles being dropped by monsters to replace them.
Anet was competing against themselves anyways by selling dye packs in the gemstore, and then allowing monsters to drop unid’d dyes, it was only a matter of time before they decided to monatize them like this.
… you do know that chefs can create unidentified dyes, right?
There will still be plenty of people using unidentified dyes, replenishing the supply. Only one method of acquiring dyes has been removed.
It’s not as big of a deal as you guys are making it out to be, but I suppose that’s par for the course around these forums.
Who says it’s not going to last? With account bound now in effect, dyes are significantly devalued. Prices will continue to settle in the player’s favor aside from the rarest and most exclusive colors, but that’s never been different from any other time in the game’s lifespan.
Common dyes went from 80 bronze to 15 silver in a very short timespan. Not because those dyes are in demand, but because they are a way to roll for a new dye.
Please log on because all those commons are back to copper again.
About time Anet dealt with path sellers and champ trains imo.
This game is getting more and more disney land themepark by every update, can’t wait for Arch Age…
Limiting gold income leads to higher gem sales, which is all they kittening care about
Good lord, where do you people come up with this nonsensical garbage?
Especially now that they are removing dyes from loot tables.
They know dyes are popular items, they are trying to steer players towards the gem store to buy rng dye packs.
It’s either that or end up spending a fortune even on common dyes (prices are only going to go up), or spend a fortune on the mats to make “Unidentified X Dye” as a chef. The mats for those recipes will shoot up in price, too.
There’s been an oversaturation of dyes in the market for the longest time, and said market continually crashes. I don’t see how anything has changed, you can still purchase the colors you want for cheap on the TP in the biggest majority of cases.
Traveler’s, good all around set and the move speed bonus is pretty much a necessity for the class.
Did I miss something? According to the patch notes megaserver is currently ONLY in EotM.
Never heard of getting out of laziness ?
Avoiding basic tedium doesn’t equate to laziness. Please learn to make a legitimate argument.
^Pretty much that. Games like Aion and Rift proved for the last time that involuntary gankfests are not fun in the slightest.
That’s what WvW is for.
what for? Trait resets are already being for free anywhere, that would be useless.
Never heard of convenience?
i’ll just say it bluntly the siphons in blood magic suck. your not going to notice a 27 health gain on hit to make them have any sort of a point you’ll have to wreck your power mancers dps even then it’s still going to be pathetic to very VERY lack luster.
It works a lot better when you trait for it and use it in combination with wells and locust swarm.
Well I think it’s pretty much decided that necro in WvW is great, but as far as PvE goes:
I actually think they’re pretty okay, the problems are that A. you’re limited on either being very selfish (Nemesis hybrid build and the like) or pigeonholed into a wellomancer B. you can be excluded based on the class alone simply because some of the population doesn’t understand how the class works.
You go to different parts of it to do specific things. Just like a Theme Park.
That makes any game with an open world a theme park, then.
This is why I hate this phrase. It’s just a cheap insult with no real definition.
This is basically a variation of Nemesis’s hybrid build which is where I got a lot of ideas on how to build my necro, so you get my vote for doing something different.
Personally I’d ditch the celestial trinkets for a rabid + zerker mix and set up your weapons as such: scepter + dagger = rabid, dagger + focus = zerker. Other than that I see no problems with it.
This game isn’t a sandbox it’s a themepark, the way you described this game sounds more like minecraft…
How can a game with a vast, logically designed world ever come close to being “theme park”…. ?
If you use a lot of wells, its worth the 20 points for the CD trait just because wells have such a long cooldown to begin with.
I don’t think I’d ever go a full 30, though, not until siphoning gets a legitimate buff.
Null Field for me. Of course there’s also Phantasmal Disenchanter, Arcane Thievery and Mantra of Resolve, as well.
