If I provide a video of bots circling the same path in Southsun Cove 24/7 that use obvious speed hacking, moving 4-6 times faster than any normal player, can I post it here?

about Ascended weapons. Got my inquest longbow, inquest sword, inquest dagger, inquest harpoon, and inquest spear gun. Put superior sigil of fire, and energy runes on them. Now Ascended weapons have come to my attention, and that I will soon no longer have max damage weapons. What was the point of me working so hard getting all this gear?

I don’t like it either. Just don’t worry about it, I’m sure your character is sexy.

Is it only GW1 players that find GW2 boring?

scabies.3246

I play GW2. I have never played GW1.

1.) By level 45 I can have every single skill available to my character. by hunting down skill point locations. This means for another 40 levels I gain 0 new skills. Wtf is that? Yes, I want to work towards getting new skills, but I don’t want to have to go 40 levels without getting anything new. At that point the game just feels like I’m leveling up just to be able to wear stronger armor which is not fun for me.

2.) PvP is just Zerg vs Zerg.

3.) I’d like to wear more armor styles. I’m running dangerously low of different types of fashions and I’m losing interest .

4.) Story Quests are too easy.

5.) I’m out of story quests.

6.) I don’t like to farm Fractal Dungeons every single day. Not only that, but I have to struggle to find a party with players the same level as me that are willing to stick around for more than one dungeon run (i.e. Meet up again later that week, next day, or whenever) because often the people are casual players and casually doing Fractals when they feel like doing them. Also, there are disconnects which force us to start over and when we restart players often says they are going to leave. This forces me to struggle to find MORE people willing to do Fractal dungeons the same level as me.

Even using http://gw2lfg.com/ it is still difficult to find someone my own fractal level that wants to keep playing. The game now revolves around this dungeon and everyone is at a different level setting than everyone else. It is no longer a one-of-a-kind game and I’m really starting to lose interest.

It isn’t the ascension gear that has ruined the game for me as I don’t care about the gear. It’s the fact that I have to jump through a ton of freaking hoops just to play in the content involved in this game. It’s almost disgusting.

This is why I’m finding the game boring.

How to deal with D/D Elementalist

in Warrior

Posted by: scabies.3246

scabies.3246

Granted every ele does not do the cookie cutter rotation but I find it hard to believe an ele would go earth after fire, especially if you are pressuring them. They would not be able to recover.

When a d/d elementalist goes Fire —> Earth, this happens:

Fire skill 4 —> Swap to Earth —> Fury Boon appears —> Earth skill 4 —> Combo Finisher Area Might + Knockdown —> Earth skill 3 —> Combo finisher Fire Shield + immobilize.

At least, that is what I do when I have d/d in spvp… It seems like a pretty kitten good comination of skills.

…Unless this is not at all what you’re talking about and I’ve misread your statement.

http://youtu.be/WwYjwYKCKXs (It is to see unless it is 1080p quality.)

Obvious botting & cheating… Same path 24/7, same mobs, same people, same route… Every day, every hour, they are there botting and collecting loot. And I just reported them again a couple of hours ago. This time however, I made a video.

It IS the same people that I reported last time. I wrote their names & location of botting down on a piece of notebook paper by my computer to remember them.

I feel as if I’m the only one reporting players for cheating to have the easy life while I’m stuck here working my butt off with farming and dungeons only to get mediocre results.

They have been botting here for two solid months and my reports are ignored. I’m starting to ask myself if maybe I should start botting, too. If botting reports are being swept under the rug, then the fear of getting banned is nonexistent.

Crucible of Eternity Path 2 = hard mode?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: scabies.3246

scabies.3246

This post relates to Crucible of Eternity, Path 2.
Almost three hours into this dungeon, we have decided to give up on the LAST BOSS.

80guardian (Guild Member 1)
80elementalist (Me)
80elementalist (My girlfriend)
80thief (Guild Member 2)
80ranger (Random Player)
Everyone appeared to be coherent and not oblivious on how to play their characters

This dungeon is by far the hardest dungeon I have attempted in this game. If anyone is familiar with this dungeon, I’m sure you are familiar with the Alpha. For those who are not familiar with this boss, The Alpha is a reoccurring boss that drops AoE attacks and freezes players with a crazy amount of duration on the freeze.

Doing Path 1, it is pretty chill and kind of difficult. I had no problems with path 1 except for an occasional disconnect here and there. Yes, the Alpha was hard, but it wasn’t anything we couldn’t handle.

Path 2, is intense. TOO intense. We have to fight the alpha a total of 3 times.

-The 1st Alpha was a little difficult, but like normal we were able to respawn at a Waypoint and take him down.

-The 2nd Alpha was kind of far from the previous Waypoint. We had difficulty with this because of his constant Freezing and AoEing. With one member AFK for about 10 minutes, we failed twice and were a bit sad. Convinced we needed 5 to beat the 2nd Alpha, we waited and when our 5th player returned we destroyed the boss while taking a beating and hitting the Waypoints often.

-The 3rd Alpha is absolutely ridiculous. It is a full minute run (with 24/7 Swiftness applied) or longer (for those who don’t have swiftness) from the nearest Waypoint back to THE FINAL BOSS. I’ve included a picture showing where we spawn and where we have to run to fight the boss. If we drag the boss outside of the room he spawns in to help decrease the time it takes when running from the Waypoint, it resets back to 100% HP.

We spent almost 3 hours in this dungeon because of the 2nd alpha being semi-far and this 3rd alpha being ridiculously too far from the Waypoint. There were party members saying that they have “broken all of their equipment” fighting alpha.

Eventually we found that dying and running back from the Waypoints is the only way for us to beat this boss. As long as ONE person was able to stay alive, the others could run back from their death and attack the boss 1vs1. Without this method, I have not seen any other possible method of completing this dungeon. We managed to get last version of the Alpha down to 20% before the last remaining player in the room (me, I spent the entire battle time kiting the boss in circles) died.

Fighting a Dragon for 45 solid minutes with only 3 people on a dead server is not even as hard as this was. We are all very dissuaded from wanting to do this path ever again. At the moment, I am not willing to try again until a closer Waypoint is added.

I’ve played all the other dungeons and almost all the EXP paths for and I have never come across an issue such as this. I asked about it in Map chat after we exited and even in two guilds, and everyone there seemed to have heard the same thing about this dungeon being incredibly difficult.

Sooo… Any tips? Or for real, a developer response on this? This is way too difficult without a closer Waypoint. Even if a Waypoint is 15 seconds closer it would make a considerable difference. If nothing is added, like a waypoint) to help us, I do not see myself every completing path 2. Ever.

Well hopefully they don’t do that because that would be really stupid. How is anyone supposed to know where the gold came from? Even if I asked and he told me it was legit gold, but it really wasn’t, how is that my fault? If that guy gave 50 people all 5 gold each, are they really going to ban all those 50 innocent accounts? If anything, they should just take the gold away.

I have never been paranoid playing a game before, but this is way over the top. I just want to play a game without having to worry about anything I do risking a ban. It’s way too big brotherish.

Calm down, nobody has been banned solely for buying gold in gw2 yet. People are just spreading this rumor, probably hoping to discourage potential gold buyers.

I’m not trying to defend gold buyers or anything, but I don’t think false information can be helpful in the debate.

I’m sorry, what? Not one gold buyer has been banned for buying gold?

This is one of the reasons I am still on only level 2 Fractals. Everytime I get a party, people start disconnecting and I can’t finish because the game does not allow people to reenter the dungeon.

The party I was in 10 minutes ago disbanded on after 5 minutes of entering part 2 of Level 2 Fractals. We had one guy DC in the beginning, but we charged through anyway. Then my girlfriend DC’ed and couldn’t get back in. To hell if we’re going to go super slow with only 3 people…

Really, I’m not enjoying the bugs in this dungeon. Please don’t release things that don’t work in the future.

Hey staff of the Greatest game of all time!

I was just wondering, but could I transfer my account to my stepson?

the reason I ask is I have very uncontrolled type 2 diabetes and am begining to have serious issues with it. Doctors are talking about me losing my feet soon and already my vision is leaving me. I might be good for a day or two, but I have other times where my vision is so bad due to my sugars I just cant see much of anything.

I was just wondering when I do lose my vision permanently,m can I give him my account?

thanks

I also have the same health issue. Can I transfer my account to someone else?

;) No, I’m just kidding. See how a transfer can be abused though? Selling accounts is a big no-no.

I’m sorry you have an illness and it must suck, but you can’t transfer accounts to people. It would be no different than selling your account. It would be cool if we could, but no. I am sorry.

I did some digging on this website and found this: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-content-terms-of-use/

Q: Can I resell, give away, or trade my Guild Wars or Guild Wars 2 account? Can I sell items on my account for real-world money or trade them for items in another game?
A: No. For further information, please see the Guild Wars User Agreement and Guild Wars 2 User Agreement.

Just, don’t tell anyone if you do it.

P.S. Go to a famous art museum and look at some pictures while you still have the chance. You won’t regret it.

On the other hand from https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-user-agreement/

“However, You may allow access to an Account to any family member who is living in Your household.”

Then consider this solved! Go for it, Mr. OP. Feel free to give your son your account!

How to mine cove rich ori on lvl 1 alts

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

scabies.3246

Tested. Works. The only REAL trouble is actually getting there alive. It’s incredibly difficult. One COULD say it is an exploit, but isn’t that if the risk does not outweigh the cost and omfg let me tell you, you’re going to die in 1 hit. Everything… Attacks… You…

Basically, you’re looking at 30s per new character that you make if you plan on farming this for gold. OH: EDIT: I forgot to mention the 605 Karma that each stack of 25 mining picks cost… soo keep that in mind.

It goes like this:
1.) Speed through a lv1 intro (10 minutes or less),
2.) Then go to lion’s arch,
3.) Then go to Southsun Cove,
4.) Then dodge every mother kittening monster in the map for about 10-15+ minutes (assuming you don’t get ganked by monsters near the finish line in which case you have to start ALL over.). For those less famliar with the map I’m sure it takes 20 minutes or more,
5.) Then go to the Rich Ori Ore and pray to kittening God that you don’t agro the champion by accident?

The risks taken to actually REACH the Ore completely outweigh the benefits. If you already have a level 80 character you can easily make more gold than that, within the same time frame, farming in Orr.

How Effective is MF gear

I have 174% MF. In Fractal Dungeons – Level 1 (three parts), with guild members today. One person had no magic find at all. The two of us compared loot.

I only had 1 more rare than he did (I had 3 rares, he had 2). As for green armor drops, I had 18 green armor drops while he had 9.

…I still don’t know if it works or not though… I rarely get any stupid exotics or other really good loot. There are people in my guild who get good stuff all the time while I’m sitting here with tons of MF and not getting anything of great value…

As far as I’m concerned, MF doesn’t work, but just incase it does, I’ll continue to wear it a bit longer.

Nothing published by Perfect World Entertainment is rewarding and fun. They are delirious customers. in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

scabies.3246

would you guys kill dragons more often if:

- they were as difficult to kill as Ancient Karka
- given that, you had at least one exotic dropping guaranteed

-Yes. Oh god, Yes. Up the difficulty. Make them unpredictable. I’ve killed so many dragons, I can pretty much anticipate what is going to happen next.
-Sort-of. If there is a way to make Exotics drop more, I’m interested, but I’m not interested if EVERYONE is going to get an exotic. Just increase the drop rate a little bit and we’re good to go.

Nearly 16 (minus a few because of server resets) dragons a day this past week for me (Only because I’m writing my final paper for the semester @ college and I can camp dragons more readily), since Monday. Nearly 64 dragons, and not a single one has dropped an exotic. The exotics I received were from previous weeks. Really though, nearly 64 dragons and not a single exotic… I’ll bet when I finally do get one, it will be a kitteny piece of armor and only sell for 2-3 gold.

Single player-instances are still brutally difficult atleast with elementalist, not helping is your npc-buddies are next to worthless getting killed instantly, getting stuck and going places they shouldnt. And so you end battling bossmonsters on your own messing up your gear while your at it. Good Luck with that especially on levels 70+

It is hard to solo the storyline. I tried to do it in the early levels (1-20) during closed beta and it was incredibly hard. What’s worse is I don’t get any kind of reward for helping you complete your missions. So, if I don’t know you and I’m just a random person, why should I help you complete it? <— It is that kind of perspective that disappoints me when it comes to the story quests in this game.

I play with my girlfriend, and we’re on the same quests now. Playing together is great. We can pretty much kill anything together. On our level 80 elementalists (we’re both 80ele and she’s also working on a low level warrior), we can duo champions together, complete world events, and pretty much do anything together.

I think what you need, is a friend to play with. I am certain there are people around here looking for a new friend!

Sadly, I can only do this for so long. Once I get my equipment to pretty looking dungeon exotics, my story finished, and map completion…

After I reach that point it is just sPvP and Fractal Dungeons for me, I guess. I don’t enjoy WvW as much as I do sPvP, so I rarely participate in WvW.

I look so much more appealing without pants on.

It’s not like Winged Pants are going to protect me from a Grawl in hand-to-hand combat, it’s just a flimsy piece of cloth. Let me run without pants, while still claiming the benefit of having the armor equipped. It works with the shoulders and helm, why not the pants!

Wonder Woman did it, I should be able to, too. Even Zula, from Conan The Barbarian, did it. You don’t remember who Zula is? She’s that Jamaican woman who goes crazy in combat and screams. She was in 007, too… Pantless… (not naked)

I’ve included a picture of me without pants. When I’m running around town or camping dragons, this is what I wear. I can’t fight like this though because I don’t get credit for wearing leggings.

There is a difference between naked and pantless. This isn’t a suggestion, it is more of a… Gripe.

Tips for leveling from 1 to 80?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: scabies.3246

scabies.3246

Craft from 40-60, if you can. Cooking —> Jewelry --> Tailoring. Discovering new recipes your own level = massive exp, so make FULL use of the discovery function. go to the GW2 database and search for recipes to craft if you need help discovering. Take full use of Karma NPC’s from heart quests that give foods like Peaches and lemons. You’ll want to aim for these kind of heart quests with priority over other heart quests. Some ingredients are only available through Karma NPCs.

When you get to 60, start busting out the story quests. they give massive EXP no matter what level you are and the difficulty is on super easy mode.

If you are a few levels shy of 70 by the time it starts to get difficult, just go to Orr’s Cursed Shore and farm some of the events there.

Just keep in mind that you MUST collect as many gathering/harvesting/mining nodes as possible as you play. It makes cooking so much easier and certainly more fun. Otherwise, it will cost a good amount of gold to level up your crafting. Also, if you want to salvage materials and send them to your collectibles, that helps, too.

But, that’s how I did it……. There is probably an easier way.

How many people here still kill the dragons?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: scabies.3246

scabies.3246

Because I am in the process of writing my final paper for school, I’ve been doing nothing but writing as I camp dragon locations and watch the dragon timers website.Dragons have a 2-3 hour respawn timer. If I’m lucky, they spawn early.

I’ve been killing nearly 12 to 15 dragons a day this week (If I don’t miss any while I’m smoking or eating and if servers don’t reset), plus getting the big WvW jumping puzzle chests. That is 16 chests a day.

Still, I have no legendary and I’ve been getting more Blues than I have Greens. I’ve only picked up maybe two Exotics from dragons since I started playing on release date. I would have better luck getting exotics killing monsters in Orr during that time or just running dungeons, but since I can’t play (again, I’m writing a final paper) this is my only option. The rate at which good loot drops makes killing dragons less profitable than if you were killing normal monsters. The wait time + lacking difficulty can easily make them not an interest for many players.

Even as I do PvE or PvP, I try to catch every dragon respawn by looking at timers and then go immediately back to what I was doing. My girlfriend hates killing Jormag because it takes the longest to kill and the chest rewards are always poop.

Things to consider:
1.) Magic Find has no influence (NONE) on what is inside the chest.
2.) I don’t know if partying has any influence on what is inside the chest. When I’ve got my exotics, I was party-less.
3. Jormag monsters (Veterans and champions) that are level 84 sometimes are left behind (bug) and you can try to kill them for loot. I killed 4 vets and 1 champion after Jormag’s death today and none of them dropped loot. Still, it is wise to attempt to kill these monsters anyway. It is not easy to kill these things even with 4 people. Champions have a kajillion hit points… wtf is up with that? It was like fighting Tequila.

Name Changes

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: scabies.3246

scabies.3246

Find a way to get your character’s name onto urbandictionary and other locations as offensive or meaning some sort of sexual reference, and report yourself, or have others report for you.

My name, “CommunityScabies” was deemed offensive and they banned me until I manually renamed my character on the character select screen (meaning I couldn’t get past the selection screen no matter what). Now my thief is named “Community Malaria”.

My guess is that people like to associate “scabies” with sexually transmitted diseases, even though it is not considered one. It’s a contagious skin infection…I’ve heard comments about how scabies is an STD from lots of (stupid) people, when it actually transmitted by direct skin-to-skin contact. No sex involved. Malaria has killed 655,000(WHO) people last year, but is not deemed offensive by almost anyone I have ever met. LOLwut?

I’ve seen much names that are crazy offensive in other level 80’s that haven’t been banned, so I’m just going to guess that I was reported by someone who got butthurt that I killed them on a thief and they couldn’t kill me back.

I dunno, man. I’m not worried about it. The name change was good and I am satisfied with the results. I am satisfied that I was allowed to get a name change. I’m not complaining with how things have turned out. It is interesting however that the name I’ve used in countless games is only “offensive” in Guild Wars 2.

So, to answer your question:
A: They DO currently allow name changes, but only under special circumstances as I described. As to if they will allow purchasable name changes in the future, I don’t know.

Thanks for the disconnect, Anet. I really need to try to focus more on my final paper for my social psychology class. It is due tomorrow and I can’t stop looking back at my game screen to see if a dragon has spawned, or what people in guild chat are saying…

Hell, even being on these forums is distracting. I probably shouldn’t be here. :*(

thanks! and i saw that vid you posted scabies pretty awesome too bad im a ranger :*(

I saw a Ranger last night dominating on some Karka last night with what looked like a Greatsword (or maybe it was a normal sword?). He was letting his pets take the first initial hit from the Karka ranged burst attack. Don’t give up! It blasts at whomever is closest between it and target, so attack it and put your pet between it and you. That’s how I do it without the reflect skill from Elementalists (I use the earth pets that can tank stuffs as my meatshield).

I feel too powerful as a lvl 80 going into a low level area

Personally i feel way OP when i go with my full exotic lvl 80 main into low lvl area,
i can solo group event bosses >_>’

you should somehow decrease the stats more! even with extreme high gear, scale it down too and scale down the defense as well, maybe lock even some traits.

then the drops, you said we would get more drops scaled to our levels if we play in a low lvl area, i didnt noticed anything like that, we still get just crap

in my opinion you should remove levels at all, make it a free explorable non farming world as whole, if you dont make it properly

I tried to downscale to help my GF on her elementalist, with my thief. I was killing everything in 1-2 shots. I had to wait until she hit it once before I killed it, so that she would get credit for kills and could complete heart quests.

I ended up having to make a completely new character just so I wouldn’t kill everything before she had a chance to hit it.

Downscale sucks and is not downscaling characters enough. Those who have awesome level 80 gear are going to dominate in low level starter areas…

I don’t believe you can get pets from any other monster, if that is what you are asking. I think that Young Karka are the only monsters with that chance.

And they only drop the 3 Lost Shores minis – the mini Karka, mini Karka Hatchlings and mini Reef Drake.

I have a chance of getting three different mini pets? I had no idea there was more than one… Thanks for posting this, I really had no idea.

I happened to make a video of me solo killing Karka on my Elementalist. It is pretty easy. The place could use some new events though. I was killing them with a friend (also elementalist) last night, and we were taking on groups of 4-5 at the same time at Owain’s Refuge Waypoint, farming the event that keeps restarting after a 5 minute cooldown.

In the Review video G4 made for Guild Wars 2, at 1:13 into the video.
It says the “quests are nothing new to MMO’s and are Fetch/Kill/Recover quests.”

This is not true. I have never played a MMORPG that has quests like GW2. They are diverse and more different than any other MMORPG I have ever played (And I have been playing MMO’s for over a decade.)

Not every single one is a boring fetch/recover quest like in most MMO’s, there are some where you have to stop poachers, or turn into pigs and hunt for truffles,
or feed chickens/bulls and water plants and stop bandits from literally setting fire to bails of hay,
or turn into a plant-wolf and sniff out suspicious smells and play with baby plant-wolves,
or hunt a giant pre-historic shark,
or “Help the ogres of Agrak Kraal tame pets to prepare for the coming battle”…

What about the three maps (Orr) dedicated to a zombie invasion, taking place in an area that is made out of coral and obviously looks like it used to be underwater? DID I MENTION THE UNDERWATER FIGHTING???

This game has so much more potential than what they described and so much CURRENT FEATURES than what is described, they should have used this video instead of that kitten G4 review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ax-_06Acj8Y

No wonder it is not currently in first place. That stupid 20hour single player game about the plague is in the lead… It looks like an old Call of Duty: WII game, but with teleporting…

Young Karka still dropping minis?

Best way to obtain Exotics ?

Someone I know who just got to 80 for the first time went and got a full exotic armor set (the Lyssa temple one). With that and some dungeon weapons, the only thing to craft or buy was jewelry.

If you’ve done the daily achieves and a couple monthlies, you’ll have surplus karma.

Note that if money is tight, there’s not actually much difference between rare (yellow) and exotic. In fact, you’ll likely find each upgrade underwhelming, cuz it’ll still take about the same number of attacks to kill the mobs.

Yes, that this guy says. Despite what many people might say, there is not much difference between rare and exotics. Don’t worry about wearing only rares for a while until you have enough Karma or gold or luck to get exotics, just don’t make it a permanent thing. Upgrading is great, but a temporary solution might be needed.

they’re ugly. Hard to get past that.

Some of them look like they are wrapped in bacon strips, not plant leaves.

I’m sorry… I’m not seeing the problem here.

Everyone loves bacon. I’m not seeing the problem, either.

I’m rather confused to be honest. I’ve been playing pretty much everyday more or less since launch, and playing my main – a Charr Warrior – daily in addition to fiddling with several alts, and have yet to see the first pet drop. Not a single one. I’ve heard of none of my friends and guildies seeing a single pet drop either.

You’re post insinuates that they do drop, however rarely, from everyday mobs through out the game though. I’m sorry if I might be slightly derailing your thread a bit with this question but, what am I missing out on? I honestly hadn’t given them much thought given I’ve so far not heard a word about them until this post. I haven’t even seen a player in game with one running along by their feet or anything like I have in every other MMO where they’re available.

PLEASE someone tell me what I’m missing out on so far as how one procures one of these!

In case its important I suppose I should mention that I bought the standard version, not the Collector’s Edition or anything. I purchased a physical copy through Amazon.com (I know with many games these days, where you purchased your copy can determine what “special” in game bonuses you recieve). I purchased in time to play the final Beta Weekend but didn’t because of some real life obligation I don’t even recall now, but my account and game was activated for launch day. Lastly, I haven’t yet spent any money beyond my initial $60 for my copy. Haven’t seen a need for any gems or anything in game yet until I need to add bank space (couple mule alts have sufficed so far). Or if things change concerning the contents of those BL chests I’ve got about 100+ of now. I refuse to shell out enough cash to open them all to be at the whim of an RNG (for rewards that aren’t that great to begin with) with real life money on the line. If I’ve gotta lay out real money to crack them open to get a pet I can live without one considering the “mechanics” of how the RNG applies to the BL chest contents presently functions.

Here is a post I found on Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/145svb/southsun_cove_the_botters_paradise/

From what I’ve read, if you kill “Young Karka” monsters in “Southsun Cove”, a level 80 location, you can get a small chance of getting the pet as a drop.

I don’t believe you can get pets from any other monster, if that is what you are asking. I think that Young Karka are the only monsters with that chance.

Best way to obtain Exotics ?

Farming events in Orr seems to be most popular. Just do them over and over until you get enough gold from the loot you’ve picked up and sold to buy exotics. There are events all over Orr, some of them have Chests on completion.

Chests (the really big ones!) are known for having a chance to get exotics. There are chests at the death of Dragons, end of certain map events, inside dungeons, and in World vs World jumping puzzles. You’ll also have a chance of getting a legendary pre-cursor weapon (exotic) which sells for a butt load of gold.

Then, there are champions, which can drop exotics (I’ve been told this, but I have not experienced this at all). From what I’ve heard from other players, champions received an increase in chance to drop items and this was a patch update from a couple of weeks ago. I don’t know if that is true, but it is definitely something to take note on. You’ll want to read this thread for more information on that. I read 2-3 sentences, but you might get more information out of it if you continue to read a bit. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Change-in-loot-parameters-or-a-bug-Merged

Normal mobs have a chance of dropping exotics. There are a few people who have received legendary pre-cursors like Dusk after killing normal level monsters.

Crafting can get you exotics. It’s not free, they require an interesting amount of ingredients.

You can get exotics from WvW badges. As well as exchanging dungeon tokens in Lion’s Arch.

You can get exotics with Karma in the level 80 areas in Orr. Look for the little blue house icons on the map. when those events are completed you get a chest and a Karma NPC that exchanges karma for exotics.

You can get exotics by combining four level 76 or higher RARE items into the mystic forge. If you combine 4 of the same weapon (i.e rare daggers) you can get a rare/exotic dagger as the reward. Mix armor and weapons causes the result to be random.

When you get Rares, consider if it is worth it to sell on the Trading Post or Salvage them. Type “/wiki Glob of Ectoplasm” into the game chat window and you’ll read more about items that sell for 30g or higher. Rares can yield 0 to 3 Globs of Ectoplasm while exotics yield 0 to 5. You can get Ectoplasm from level 68 or higher rares/exotics.

Try to do Fractal dungeons. You’ll have an chance of getting AWESOME loot as you progress to higher levels of the dungeon. That’s where Ascension equipment comes into play. Here is a pic of a Fractal Dungeon exotic: http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/75677-1350-token-fractal-backpiece-forge-recipe/

Now, something I don’t know if it is true or not, I heard you can get legendary pre-cursors from killing people in WvW, too. I suspect it is true.

Dragon timer website: http://guildwarstemple.com/dragontimer/
When you choose your server, go to “All Timers”, not just “Dragon Timers” and you will see timers for other events, too.

Here, you can look at what the exotics look like on your character: http://www.gw2armor.com/

NOTE: I’ve edited this a bunch of times to add more ways that I forgot about.
