The point is that you don’t need to use stability
The point is, I want to go do my laundry while I kill Abom.
meet my friend, Mr. Otkey.
Autoh, meet laharl.
Cliffside: Without not touching the mobs at the double seal it is too hard 30+.
Oh i forgot..
1-2 months ago a dev said on this forum he would fix this to clear all and spawn only 2 at each party wipe, basicly resetting the seal as you would find it at 1st attempt. He said he couldn t give us a date but he was working on it….any news?
Also address the mandatory guardian in fotm issue please
Would made fotm great.
He fixed it, it just wasn’t announced in the patch notes.
You had me at zerker monocle.
Oh the wailing and gnashing of teeth will be legendary. Suck it, scrubblets.
a man deciding he needs to defend women
How about you drop this ridiculous “white knight” attack and argue the ideas on their merits rather than insinuating any man on the other side is in it for ulterior motives. It’s the oldest bullkitten derail in the book. It makes you look pathetic.
The GW2 subreddit is the biggest gathering of care bears outside of Care-a-lot. It’s truly a fantastic reflection of the GW2 community at large, because they salivate over every single offering from the gem store and ready their torches and pitchforks at anyone who is critical of the devs or general direction of the game.
edit: kitten I thought this was only on page 2 I missed this entire argument about skill and melee lol.

Not even gonna talk about how many tries it took to get Bridgette’s crappy RNG in our favor.
What you’re describing is differences in skill level. Dodging the right attacks has little to do with what class and build you bring. Player skill being equal, not a single encounter in the game will not be over faster with a higher damage-focused group setup. And that comes, in large part, from class, gear, and build.
Let me repeat that to be clear: there is no encounter in this game that isn’t over faster with more team DPS.
downvote why can’t I downvote why isn’t there a -1 button argh
COF P1 SPEED RUN WARRIOR BUILD
That’s…really not that fast, and you have a lot of problems with your setup. There’s no point in pinging gear or having 4 warriors in that run because a rando group of classes and build could do it just as fast.
Yeah I guess they literally had no choice other than giving that female robot a set of 44DDD’s and a trunk overflowing with junk.
If you want to complain about big breasts and curvy hips, you really don’t need to go that far.
So, in light of the Norn and Human physiques being much worse than the Watchknights, except for the fact that they got some ornate design on their bum, what is so bad about someone wanting to design a female robot?
Oh believe me, I have my gripes about Norn and Human models and outfits as well. But this thread was about Watchknights.
And nothing is wrong with a Watchknight having female characteristics. The problem is the abundance of hyper-sexualized juvenile fantasy body types being used for those female representations. As I’ve said. Many times.
Specifically, “the problem” is not the existence of it, and people who are spinning this into some puritannical crusade to ban displays of sexuality are either unintentionally or willfully obfuscating the point while engaging in a massive strawman fallacy. The problem is the societal effect these representations have when our media is full of them.

Now Dub.1273 is telling us that PVT= casual noobs. I never loled irl soo much.In my humble opinion [rt]/[DnT] suffer from Dunning–Kruger effect.
Note:
The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which unskilled individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than average. This bias is attributed to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their mistakes. Source: wiki
That was my last post here, if I continue I will most likely say stuff that will get me infracted.
Now run along go solo Lupicus, or whatever you think being skillful means. Oh and I almost forgot, post videos, showing your uberness, that doubles your skill right there! -)
Son, let me help you out here, since you wouldn’t know a clue if it sat on your face.
rT and DnT feature the best PvE players in the game. The dungeon forum regulars are the best PvE player community in the game. We set records.
And please, continue posting, none of us use the report button maliciously, unlike the bads who wander in here and get yelled at. You have nothing to fear from us, except being made a fool of.
Let’s see that with 4 rangers.
What is this fabled MMO that didn’t feature LoS pulling and spiking with AoE damage as the quickest and easiest way to clear mobs? I haven’t played them all, but I’ve played a lot of them, and it’s pretty much how it’s done in everything I’ve ever played.
If you’re not running reflects on Malrona you deserve a fiery agonizing torment for all eternity in the depths of Hades
and an insta-kick, of course
Why should he have to change his utilities so that it will save the group from getting hit and damage the boss more. Are you so elite that you can’t let him play the way he wants to play? Why should the boss die 5 min faster just so you can farm gold?

Careful with that sarcasm, Ethics.
“He who fights with bads might take care lest he thereby becomes a bad. And when you gaze long into a casual the casual also gazes into you.”
look at that scrub mesmer not even shattering once. disgusting, ugh.
This is a very good QoL fix. I’d be remiss if I did not drink a little bit of hatorade here and say it should have been that way from the start.
More QoL fixes please! Armor Skin Locker in PvE!
Anet devs don’t play dungeons.
Welcome to dungeons. Enjoy!
Yea don’t expect any thoughtful design when it comes to dungeons.
Just gonna quote all 3 of these for truth. Peace out.
oh my god, I… I just +1ed a guang post
Looks like a lot of players who lack knowledge about statistics. Little surprise given previous discussions about similar subjects. I expect the exact same thing to happen: ArenaNet to state (correctly) that nothing has changed (which they have already done), and then later pay lip service so people stop complaining.
Sorry, I’m not very good at math, could you please explain how .5 is actually equal to .9? Or you know, actually engage with some of the various analyses that have been posted that show the new rate on Master’s kits being .5 with a very narrow margin of error at .95 CI. If “SMALL SAMPLE SIZE!!!” is all you have, I wouldn’t bother wasting the keystrokes if I were you.
I hate hate hate the attempted insult of “cookie cutter” builds. There’s a build that offers optimal DPS (dependent on situation), and there’s everything else. Trying to criticize people for not, like…thinking outside of the box, maaaaan, is so idiotic. Don’t kitten with a winning formula. It’d be like criticizing people who calculate planetary motion by using that “cookie cutter” general relativity. God, why don’t you show some originality and just use Kepler’s laws of motion, ugh.
You laugh at me because I’m different. I laugh at you because you’re all the same.
uguu~ so much harder now
Stop crying that you can’t kill every boss in a single try. It’s ok to make players wipe until they learn.
And that is why you are not a game designer.
I think I found the game that you worked on, it had some p. sweet boss encounters
A ranger… is agood indication you need to kick him
ftfy
Gift of Mastery, Fortune, and Twilight are sitting in the bank, along with 545 gold. Just about 15 gold to go and I can start putting up the buy order for Dusk. I’m running out of steam though, the CoF grind is killing me.
Edit: Oh great, the buy orders have risen from 560 yesterday to 565 today. I need some lucky drops to boost me up, kitten
(edited by Broadicea.8294)
Now, like I said earlier my estimate using the binomial distribution is a touch flawed, but not 16 orders of magnitude flawed.
It is a binomial distribution when you count ectos returned as the success whether it’s 1, 2, or 3. It’s a very safe assumption that the quantity is determined on a secondary loot roll. Otherwise, great post.
Last night, pugging some Arah. Pugs stack range, I run in melee as usual. Misdodged the very first kick, there I was down at Lupi’s feet looking like an idiot.
Yeah, that’s my problem too. I want to yell at pugs for not running zerk, want to call them big dumb babies for ranging all the time and not using DPS builds, but then I almost always end up faceplanted at some point, and just feel like the biggest kitten that ever lived.
As long as you’re not hacking/glitching/cheating you’re not exploiting.
Are you farming Subject 7 by chance?
Nope, though my kill time for mine is only a little bit quicker than the warrior’s on Subject 7. Waiting for my cooldown is the main thing limiting me, that and random losers wandering in to my arena and getting killed on whatever. 4 gambits and a fifth token for the fight, I’m doing about 5 fights every 6 minutes assuming no interruptions.
And your statement about “hacking/glitching/cheating” isn’t really accurate, see: snowflake jewelry bans.
That’s the main incident making me hesitant to continue doing this farm. That recipe and salvage was not what Anet made it out to be, and once the market caught on the prices equalized to the point that it was not nearly as profitable anymore. And lots of people were banned for doing something that was right there in the game, right out in the open, no glitching/exploiting needed.
it’s not like he did anything while he was here, who cares
I’ve been taking a look at the cost of influence boosters (10% from events, 20% from dungeons, and 5% across the board) and wondering if my small guild is profiting from them or losing influence. Are my numbers here correct?
20% Dungeon influence boost – cost 200 influence.
With 1 or 2 guild members present, the guild receives 10 influence per dungeon path completed (per member? not sure if it awards 20 with 2 people present). With 3 or more present, the bonus is 100. So with the bonus active, the guild will gain 120 from a single dungeon path. With the bonus then accounting for 20 influence, the best case scenario is a group of 3 or more people doing more than 10 dungeon runs to end up in the black after activating this boost. If there are less than 3 members present, even more paths have to be completed as you’ll only receive 2 from the boost. If you trigger the boost and then only do 5 group runs, you’ve wasted 100 influence.
10% event influence boost – cost 200 influence
With 1 guild member present at an event, the influence gained is 2. I believe the bonus rounds down on a per-event basis, meaning you don’t get 2.1 influence, you only get 2. With 2 or more members present the bonus is 20, or 22 with the boost. Again, best case scenario for profiting influence from this is over 100 events done in 24 hours with 2 or more people in attendance.
5% influence boost – cost 100 influence
Again, I believe this rounds on a per-event basis, meaning it boost group dungeon runs by 10, group event runs by 1, single dungeon runs by 1 (rounds up from .5), and single events by 0. So even if you have tons of event credit, if they’re mostly done with 1 person in attendance you’re not gaining anything. Best case here is as above with the dungeon runs- 10 group dungeons will put you in the black.
Unless I’m totally missing something, it seems that all of these boosts are influence losers for smaller guilds that don’t meet those thresholds of dungeon/event participation.
-Fixed a bug that caused the sale value of the exotic shoulders that drop from the Aetherblade jumping puzzle to be higher than intended.
There goes that. Thanks Anet.
edit: wow, 60 silver to 3 silver. GJ!
(edited by Broadicea.8294)
How about we just nerf the damage output of anybody who has participated in a sub-45 second Lupicus kill? They’re the only ones doing it. I don’t see why 99.9% of the game population has to be impacted because of the shenanigans of like 40 people.
No, skipping is not a game at all. It’s a path of least resistance. Don’t tell me that anyone does it because he simply likes skipping mobs.
The thing is, why do something that you consider to be a big enough chore to justify skipping it? Because it gives you a lot of loot. If there was no loot, you wouldn’t be there at all, skiping or not.
Skipping is often harder than clearing. It takes much more skill to skip some of the encounters expert dungeon runners often skip than to slowly and methodically clear all the mobs out. It’s higher risk for high reward.
Clearing everything is like laying up short of the water with your iron for a safe, conservative wedge shot to the green. Or, you can put on your big girl/boy pants, take out your 3W and send that motherkittener home.
Yeah, so here’s what’s happening on my gauntlet farm. I take 5 tickets, I load up 4 gambits and fight the guy. I win, making 5 boxes back, which gives more than 15 sprockets and 20 silver back, allowing me to purchase the 5 tickets all over again plus pocket the change as profit. Not to mention every so often getting a lodestone drop.
That’s generating endless returns, provided I can continue to win. I don’t even need the gambits, since one ticket and one win gives you more than 1/5 the purchase price of a pack of 5 tickets. It’s just faster with gambits and essentially effortless once you’re skilled enough to do it right.
I just want a clear response from Anet stating that it will or will not be viewed as an exploit.
Here are three robot designs which have plainly female characteristics without being overtly hyper-sexualized to the point of absurdity.
I know everyone on Youtube and here in the forums are speedrunners and are casually running Mes/Guard/3 War or FGS eles but I prefer not to ask my group specifically for that.
I just wanted to avoid frustrations by having to do a redo and run strategy 3 (range kiting). We’re not organized enough for strategy 1 (full melee w/ reflects) and not everyone is geared for it.
So you refuse to run better group compositions, you refuse to organize enough to chain reflections, you refuse to gear yourself properly. Tell me why you are entitled you 60 tokens again?
Please don’t, it’s fun the way it is. Puggie tears are a bonus.
so if you get bored by the current dungeons – why don’t you run the event dungeon as often then?
And next month… run the other dungeon
Because as evidenced by the Molten Facility, they have kitten rewards compared to the current dungeons. Also, only one path. Also, with MF at least, they’re adding time gating in because they get their feelings hurt by speedclear teams steamrolling over the entire dungeon in 5 minutes.
So, would you enjoy running SE Path 2 over and over and over again for a month if it gave max 15 silver, a crappy chance at rares/exotics with some kitten stat combination, and no tokens?
what is this, “we’ve had our fun, now nerf this so no one else can do it?”
On farming in general, there’s a sweet spot that combines good loot with fun, engaging content. I think Southsun had that going for it, especially before certain aspects of the content were isolated as optimal. As someone who’s actively working on upcoming Living World releases, I’m aiming to find that sweet spot and hit it in a big way.
Yeah, uh, that sweet spot doesn’t really exist at all in this game. I mean, I guess it depends on your definition of “good loot”. If your scale goes from 0 silver earner per hour to 50 silver, then sure, anything that approaches fifty silver/hour looks great because it’s maxing out your scale. But if you’re aware of the maximum gold return farms that exist (just to take an example, 5-6G/HR from CoF/1) then you have to adjust your scale, and the 50 silver doesn’t look so great.
I mean, are you guys even aware of how much people are getting from CoF*? If so, do you find it acceptable? If so, why has every other farm (that didn’t even come close to start with) been closed up by “bug fixes”?
*Note: this might sound like sour grapes, but it’s really not. I farmed my kitten off in CoF to get the gold I needed for my legendary and I’m happy I was able to do it. I don’t run it much anymore because I’m fine with the cash I have on hand and don’t really need much anymore. It would though be nice to bring it in line with other dungeons, though I’d prefer that the others be brought up rather than CoF/1 be brought down. And it would also be nice to have some open world areas to farm for comparable rewards as well.
PVT is cool only after playing berzerker all the time. You can afford dancing around, making mistake here & there and let your friends doing all the hard works, and rez them at the right time. And last one standing too. Just don’t let they know you wear PVT so transmute all your gears to CoF gears. Ugly but safe.
THAT’S why I’m always faceplanting in our fractal runs, you guys all switched to PVT and didn’t tell me
The changes they made to the story mode because everyone QQed about it being too hard were really awful, as well. Now all the mobs die in seconds but they didn’t adjust the spawn rate accordingly, so you wipe a group out and then stand there for what feels like an eternity waiting for something to happen. You’re right, it feels completely unfinished. Amateurish, even.
Good observation about the moving platforms, by the way. Have you tried planting objects there like banners/spirits, etc? I don’t know whether to laugh or be disappointed as they sail away into the distance…
/inspect would make pugging about 1000% better
Gotta give the mesmer a way to actually do some damage before Feedback, lol
The only, only only time I’ve ever had them go invuln was when someone attacked from range. Don’t attack from range.
Probably the damage calculation since that’s what it really all boils down to, at least for the dungeon forum folks. You would need to factor in the armor level of whatever mob you’d be using I’d suppose. Good candidates for damage sponges: Abomination in Arah p2, any kind of Giant (the champs in P3, perhaps) The Destroyer in CoE/3. Of course some of those guys are also levels 80+, don’t know if anyone’s figured out the damage reduction for that yet.
Just have a place where you can add in the armor level to adjust the damage numbers if possible.
Honestly, though, I don’t think it’s that important. If the formulae are accurate, you can still calculate the highest DPS build on some set armor level. You could still find out which build is the highest DPS, which is what matters most, since it will also be the highest DPS against a higher armor enemy.
True, armor probably doesn’t matter, but what I’d like to see is a calculator saying I’ll do xxxx DPS, then go into the game, record a fight, and be able to look at my combat log/the floaters and compare.
It takes away a very important choice, which makes it every bit as stupid as the fractal weapon drops, just at the extreme other end of the spectrum. You get to pick your stats but can’t pick your fractal weapon, meaning you can have as many Berserker scepters, torches, and tridents as you want.
Or, you don’t get to pick your stats but you can pick the weapon. Woohooo, come December I’ll have 8 Magi’s greatswords.
Idiotic.
So the objectifying and stereotyping of certain people is just fine, but criticising such portrayals is troublemaking? Yep, nothing new there, sadly, but that does not make attitudes like this any less problematic.
I see no objectifying or stereotyping in Guild Wars 2 that would offend anyone. I do however find problem with the people who react in the manner you seem to be reacting. If you or anyone truly believes there such going on in the game instead of posting on the forums, which will cause trouble because differing opinion on the internet nearly always leads to throwing insults at one another, contact Anet directly and inform them of your concern. If they feel you have a case they may very well change it to be less offensive. If not they may actually give you the reasoning behind the decision. But making a thread on a forum or even posting comments on youtube has only hurt these causes. I can’t tell you how many times I seen someone make a well thought argument on youtube, I know probably unbelievable, only to be undermined by someone who is on their side but reacts like they just escape from the asylum.
The watchknights are bloody awful and a complete disgrace. They could have been designed as icons of human culture, with symbols of the gods, or using symbology from the royal crest or whatever. Hell, they could have had touches of stylized “femininity” and still looked decent and fit to actually fight. But no. Naked metal women with detailed nipples and high heels. Lowest common denominator on the same level as trashy comic book covers.
Yet there will still be people who will find reason to complain and whine about it. I’m starting to think maybe we should ban causes from the forums since they all ultimately degrade into pointless wars where word twisting is taken to the extreme.
@Bovinity.8610: I think the day society doesn’t freak out is the day the earth was finally destroyed by a catastrophe. It seems this behavior will remain with humanity till extinction.
You are not the one who gets to decide what’s offensive to some people. And it’s not even about that, no one is saying “I am personally upset at this and I demand Anet consider my feels,” it’s about the detrimental impact to society caused by the overuse of sexist depictions of femininity.
But you’re not interested in having that discussion, you want people to shut up and be quiet and not bother anyone about it, because you’re fine with the status quo. You like the way things are and the fact that a few fussy women and men get uppity and make noises about things is what really grinds your gears. So your stance is “Sexism is fine as long as I’m ok with it. Bringing it up and talking about it is far worse.”
when I’m pugging and someone suggests doing that in AC I just ruthlessly mock them as big whiny range-fighting babies. that usually convinces them to just melee the boss
however, running through trash mobs is totally acceptable imo. if they gave loot I’d kill them.
