yeah thatd be sweet, perhaps they could give a little of the map currency for the map you need to complete them in too as opposed to what the core tyria dailys give
i think one of the main points of changing to a different currency is to AVOID the buy it with gold thoughtstream that pervades much of what you can acquire in gw2.
this is a good thing and i hope they keep it that way
No. Just No.
Buying precursors in that way would be a terrible thing to have, sorry if you are having bad luck getting one but please dont wish for bad features
What do I do with all my extra gold?
I have thousands of gold I have no immediate need for. You demand they invest development time into creating an NPC especially for you. I demand they take a developer away from insignificant ventures such as a luck vendor, and add a specific one for my needs that has rare items that are exclusive to those with excess gold.
Those are nowhere near the same thing. Gold is the main currency in the game, there are tonnes of sinks for it and in fact that isn’t a whole lot that can’t be obtained via Gold. There are also plenty of things that Karma can be used for as well as an item to help eat up excess karma (karmic converter).
On the otherhand luck drops like crazy and has very few uses, especially in comparison to the other currencies you mentioned. It is a real problem that will become more and more prevalent as more people start reaching the luck cap.
Possible Solution to the Hero Point Debacle

i think changing this would be a really bad thing for the game. pre launch there was not much reason to group up outside of very specific cirucmstances. with the new areas there are both the events and meta events requiring cooperation on a large scale and hero points requiring cooperation on a small scale. the event hero points give rewards even if youve already done them so people wont be discouraged from helping out, plus everyone will need them to unlock their elite spec
I noticed on the first page of this topic some complaint about the watchwork sprockets not being available any other way than the pick, dont know if it has been addressed since then but you can in fact buy the sprocket node for your home instance from the laurel vendor. It is in the season 1 rewards tab and costs 25 laurels and 15g.
i was taught RBY.
I think green tags would not have been a good idea because their main use is supposed to be wvw and so much of the map is green that they would not be as easily distinguishable as the other colors. Even large portions of the pve map would have that issue as well.
just give us pre searing EXACTLY as it was, don’t care that it doesn’t make sense just make that the starting area
if you dont have any masteries to level it could be accumulated to the point of a level up tome or spirit shard. maybe it could be done via a repeatable achievement in the achievement panel that captures xp gained while a mastery track is not selected to level
Expected waiting time would be very hard to judge I think.
Entrance to wvw I think is done by if there are any slots free on the server, if not you would have to wait till someone leaves. To give an expected waiting time the best they could do is give an average and that is very easily distorted. Some people go to wvw solo as a fast way to do their dailys and leave ikittenminutes. A whole guild might be over there for a few hours and then split off at the same time to log off or do something else in game.
Perhaps instead of expected wait time they could give position in the queue
I think perhaps people are just not reporting them thinking anet will just magically know
I don’t see how they are like a debuff, its not like killing them puts all our skills on cd like guild wars 1 AND they can be quite useful if you use them well. Could they be better? Sure, but I think the QZ double nerf they are trying to sell as a buff is much worse.
The precursor creation system is a complete waste of time and effort that serves no purpose.
I have to strongly disagree with that, the journeys lead you through content you may otherwise not have even thought to do and I’ve had a lot of fun doing them. Add to that certain elements of the new legendaries post journey had me more invested in learning the HoT metas than I otherwise would have been and although I couldnt see myself going through that 16 times it was pretty fun the first time.
In regards to the topic I have to say I am both relieved and disappointed at the same time; it would have been really nice to see what other legendarys you guys came up with and I would have at least enjoyed doing the journeys for them but at the same time it feels like it has been too long since regular players have seen any actual story progression and I am excited to see that.
I just hope the gen 2 legendaries dont end up like SaB in a perpetual state of maybe
agreed this would be a good feature to have.
You guys should put this place in game somewhere and have it be an instanced mode and when we get items like the ship model from the latest event we can put it on display there sort of like the hall of monuments. Then also if other event items like that are put into the game we could add them to our explorers society instance.
I don’t get it why is this an issue? It sounds incredibly boring to do and to be honest if people actually want to do it then as long as they aren’t making bots for it I say let em. How exactly would it negatively effect anyone else?
Didnt know if i would have enough characters to type the question i wanna ask in the title.
Anyways i finally got astralaria last night and was pretty excited about it particularly the idea of double axing and having that arm effect on the whole time. The only problem is the videos I had seen previously were of that effect on a human. It covers the arms nicely and looks pretty cool.
My ranger though is a Charr and the effect on his arms is patchy as, does not look anywhere near as good. I also have a lower level human ranger so I tested it on that character to make sure that good effect I had seen before actually made it into the game and it did.
My question is is that intentional for the astralaria arm effect to look that way on charr or is it a bug that will get fixed?
Cheers

And a few days ago, the opposite was being said, as when the patch first went live, it was defaulting to list, rather than sell immediately, and people had a bird about that too.
O_o
I was pretty sure the issue then was that it kept changing.
I would also like to add I would be appreciative of giving us the option to set the default
9.9/10 definitely have been having tonnes of fun and im only on the 2nd new map, so much to see and do that actually feels worth seeing and doing.
for me personally the masteries are taking a long time but the reason why is actually a really good thing, ive spent so much time exploring the maps as opposed to doing things that gain much more xp just because it is actually fun to do so.
For me this issue would be resolved simply by not forcing you to complete the content before you can even attempt the achievements, if the concern is spoilers than lock the descriptions but if people luck into the achievements or end up reading a guide then so be it.
Also if the concern is wanting people to see the story that is something which is interesting and worthwhile to me but if it wasn’t then forcing the story on me would not make me pay attention it would just be annoying.
Yes i would LOVE for them to add a proper UI for books, i hate how even though they are finally doing books in game a bit more they have to do it through the dialogue UI.
Also some kind of storage for books would be awesome as well.
if the reason for a limit has anything to do with fairness then it needs to be expanded by the amount of historical achievements you can no longer get and the historical achievement points need to be stacked on top of daily
otherwise just remove the cap, it wouldnt hurt anybody
I believe a better way to acquire precursors needs to be implemented, one relying less on rng but to just straight up get one from achievement points feels too easy.
I would go for a massive scavenger hunt type thing where you had to gather a bunch of different resources throughout the game and maybe having one component needed to get your precursor in a non rng way would come from achievement points (perhaps you could get one of those components every 3000-4000 achievement points you got). Otherwise it would cheapen the whole process of getting a legendary if it was too easy to get the components.
yeah lol i was surprised each new zone seemed to have their own keys, thats about a billion different keys we need to hold on to
then theres the scribe mats
i wouldnt expect them to do black lion tickets or the other chef ingredients but cant deny id be pretty happy if they did
Reason I bother making this suggestion is because I noticed some very annoying issues recently.
A guildie was giving away some eternal tonics in a competition and I noticed it was from a set that I already had one of only the one I had was accountbound and the one I got from them was not. Neither of them indicated either way other than the fact that rightclicking on mine did not have the option to mail item or list on tp.
I looked in the guild stash later on and found some halloween tonic in there (I think it was plastic spider) and thought I have some of this why don’t I add it to the stack. Again the one I had appeared to be accountbound whereas the one in the stash was not and also no indication either way which was which.
What’s worse is that in this case, the items were the same so I withdrew the items from the guild stash and they went in the same stack despite some being bound and some not. Now the whole stack appeared to be bound but when I separated it out into different stacks again mine were bound and the others not.
I don’t like that any of these tonic type items are bound to start with (it seems ridiculously money grabbily) but thats a topic for another day, as it is there already seems to be a problem going on behind the scenes.
Hardcore – the ones who don’t play for fun

screw pr guys anet should hire people in the community to talk about their game, i just watched wooden potatoes vid which took the same footage from the point of interest vid and made it sound quite exciting. from only watching that vid i didnt walk away with any of the complaints ive seen in this topic
yes from the latest guild chat they did it sounded like the lesson they took from that was NOT to draw every single player into the same map at once and to try to spread them out a bit by adding content in different places. I do not expect anything like that to happen again, also while some people probably have good memories of attending that once only event I just have the memory of not being able to make it.
Also in my opinion I think there is only value in creating pre level 80 maps IF they are for new race. Even with the scaling system in place to keep some challenge to earlier maps there is still a stigma towards them that level 80s should be doing level 80 content as opposed to pre level 80 content
was wondering myself, had no idea americans celebrated labor day on the wrong day (its actually the 4th monday of october, at least if you are in nz lol)
From a player standpoint its hard to say. I imagine the refugees would still want their items back even if in southsun BUT how long is anet going to leave the snow and dirt covered items in game?
They are all there now so I suggest just in case to get everyone who wants the achievement to get it now while it is definitely available.
Didnt realise they had done that its something I thought should happen for quite some time. If a toggle option isn’t too hard to implement then for all means go for it, more options is rarely a bad thing especially when it comes to customising ui
No way and I do not appreciate the attempted real world link here because it is not the same at all.
simple solution (in theory anyways not sure implementation wise) make interacting with player placed objects a separate keybind
then it doesnt matter where they put it
coppering is a legitimate tactic
i only came in because i thought this was about map difficulty and was going to see if i could give tips or learn some new ones.
aint nobody got time to convince you to buy HoT OP, if you are really interested do some research, make up your own mind
:O you don’t like jps…… pop
More full on zones like the ones we have already (including dry top but NOT southsun)
and yeah thats pretty much all i want, to be able to revisit the crystal desert and the ring of fire, get the opportunity to travel up to the isle of janthir, see the homelands of the other 2 charr legions. Cantha and Elona would obviously be awesome to see as well.
yeah i agree with this sentiment. it was a good battle and i liked doing it but it was a lot of trouble for the reward you get considering the biggest reward was first time only.
considering the amount of time and effort it took to complete im now in a position where i have really little incentive to do it again. the very least that should have been done was add a repeatable achievement like with the bandit contracts
69. .
Sure if its not too difficult to implement then yeah I would be on board with it
