I would like to be able to change character and not have the guild chat log be cleared off my screen.
People talk about how Rangers are getting treated very badly in the updates and to be honest I can’t say I noticed till now, nerfing quickness is a really horrible thing to do. Its one of the only things that gives many builds any level of effectiveness and now not only is it way slower it also increases the duration you can’t heal.
In light of that I really don’t see how the stun break being added to it makes the situation any better, you’re out of stun but can’t heal for an extra second so you’re just as likely to die.
Also PLEASE DO NOT point at a positive change you made elsewhere as if it makes this better (example agony resistance on pets). If I burnt down an orphanage people would not suddenly appreciate that because I helpt an old lady cross the street.
nah if people want to know where they are rather than exploring for them they should just look up a guide, leave the game itself as it is
no stat switching is a good enough + as far as im concerned
why would i regret buying something i have already had 40-60 hrs of enjoyment out of? that alone more than makes it worth the purchase price, add to that the promise of more to come between now and whenever the next expansion is (s3 of the living world and multiple raid wings for example) and i dont see why anyone would regret buying
Rotating is a legit strategy and not leaching at all.
If anything perhaps the rewards should be changed so that people get 1 chest for each octo that was killed or 1 overall. That would stop lazy whiners who just want to stay in one side from having anything to whine about
Are you doing that thing where you open all your bags on a lower level character for better value salvaged mats? because the side effect of that is you wont get any ascended materials like dragonite ore, empyreal fragments and bloodstone dust
My dream patch notes would just be for them to one day put out notes that said: NOTHING – because an expansion is coming (insert definitive date here)
Yep I definitely think this would be a good idea, half the time I go to rezz someone and they are gone before I get there and the other half I don’t bother because I’m convinced they won’t be there by the time I get there.
i dont understand why there needs to be a discussion, it seems obvious how beneficial it would be to have skills balanced separately for pvp and pve and i can only imagine the reasons anet dont do it are either because of lack of resources or because they are scared we are all stupid and will get confused if we have to remember two sets of skill information.
if its the last one all i can say to that is i dont think the group of people who spend equal amounts of time in all game types is going to be that big, most pick a favorite and then dabble in other types

I was already excited pre beta because there was a lot of stuff announced I was interested in. My main concern was only 4 maps because that sounds real small.
Now that I have been playing the beta I can happily say that because of the way they are packing them full of content (and how what we have seen is only a small section of 1 map) I think I will be plenty satisfied with 4 maps.
Definitely do not regret prepurchasing
i think people who think the new rifle is a gag weapon are getting mixed up between the idea of a joke weapon and the idea of a strongly themed weapon.
anet did address this in the ama though and said they were not doing a 1:1 serious to joke weapon thing.
they havent really supported that category at all since the game launched, the few new slayer achievements that did get added got so under different categories. would be nice if this was tidied up
i think it would be better if devs were given more freedom to just drop things in whenever as opposed to holding everything back so we can all make a big fuss, get overhyped and maybe disappointed
i got a theory that the pale tree manifested the shadow of the dragon from the dream in order to convince the world leaders to join forces and that the reason she was so weak was because that took a lot of power to do. the timing was just waaaaaaaaaay too convenient
no why should they nerf them? many people have achieved max mastery lvl proving it is possible. if you can’t do the content you dont deserve the reward end of story

If you guys had been paying attention to the living story you would know that it definitely appears more stuff will be added to southsun cove very soon. The dialogue among the refugees in lions arch suggests that they will be moved to southsun and I don’t think it would be out of the question that they would make more content changes to the area as well.
because its unbalanced and the skills in far too many cases don’t mesh with the trait setups for your land skills. it needs a major overhaul imo.
At a minimum we need the ability to have separate traits under water or alternatively more weapon options so we can have something that does go with our land traits. Optimally I think that we should also have some traits and utility skills specifically for under water use.
I like caithe – a lot more now that she’s a better fleshed out character through LS2.
Logan is and always was utterly forgettable. Eir is only a footnote because of Braham (and i guess her relation to Jora, if i recall that right). Zojja gets a nod on ascended weaponry, but she’s a little too… cliched a character to be really likeable.Rytlock, on the other hand, is a good character and is rightly getting fleshed out further. I’m happy with that.

plus i feel all the original destinys edge were fleshed out quite well between the book (Edge of destiny), the personal story and the storymode of dungeons
I was just looking through random stuff on the wiki and came across a material called giant eye. Oh cool I thought, theres a bit of motivation for killing giants in this game. Then I noticed under dropped by it said "This item is not dropped by any creature. "
WHY!?
There are giants. This is called giant eye. Why does it not a possible drop from a giant?

Do it with a thief character, then if necessary you can stealth your way past them. That was my strategy but it turned out I didn’t even need to do that as all it took was /wave and we all just went on our happy ways.

That would defeat the purpose of laurels entirely. They are a type of currency players acquire at the same rate whether they are casual, hardcore or inbetween that they can use to get certain items.
Using laurels will take longer than other types of currency but they ensure that all players can get ascended items without having to be able to do guild missions or fractals.
Well for me the complaint is more about making you get far in the jp and then leaving your progress in the jp to get the coin. That just furthers the frustration.
So I gave dragon ball a shot today and after really disliking crab grab my expectations weren’t too high but to my surprise I quite liked it. That was earlier in the day though when I happened to be able to get a team were all the people there were actually playing. I have not had the same experience this evening though, 2 or 3 of the players on the team I was in were just there leeching, not doing anything.
Is there anything we as the players or even perhaps the devs could do to resolve this issue?
i dont want interplayer trading. defend it all you like but the fact of the matter is that in gw1 being able to trade player to player lead to way too much chat spam, thats almost all i ever saw.
perhaps a better alternative might be to lower the tp fee if you are filling a buy order
yes please its a little world damaging if all your new maps are just sealed off on their own little areas and the only way to get to use a portal item
Was reading through some of the articles on the wiki and got really into it when I came across this particular passage in the Jormag article:

I realise we probably don’t know the answer to the question I posed in the title but what I really wanted to ask was where did that information come from and is it legit?
I came to the forums to make this request as well, I am quite meh about the current pvp mode (conquest) but on the otherhand love MOBA gameplay and the fact that ANET has taken inspiration from that and seemingly done it quite well has me very excited.
I am very keen to play stronghold in pvp but would rather not have to deal with conquest at the same time, also I am very doubtful custom arenas will be a valid workaround if more than a few people share the same mindset because all the spots will fill too quickly.
Please (times infinity) make it a separate queue so that people who want to play stronghold can play stronghold and people who want to play conquest can play conquest. I suspect these may not be the same crowds of people in any case outside of a bit of overlap.
I would like to report having this bug as well. Also as a side note the bug report categories in game do not seem adequate, I spent a couple minutes looking for the right place to put this under but there was nothing obvious.
No way I disagree completely OP. It is completely fair to reward people who have been playing longer (i.e. higher rank) an extra pip especially at those intervals.
It also has the side effect of giving another reason to want higher rank.
Also wvw =/= pvp, and the rank system for each is quite different i dont think it makes a good comparison to say x should be like y.

If anything they probably need to take a look at the outnumbered bonus. As is I do not think it is working as they intended, having that bonus gives you more pips than if you were winning the previous skirmish even…
My suggestion would be to change the skirmish placement pips to 2,3,4 and then bring outnumbered down to 4 (or have the skirmish placement pips at 3,4,5 and leave outnumbered as is)

Well in case you are not quite aware yet the reason for the influx of these topcs is usually due to something about rangers getting nerfed, up till today it was never anything that bothered or affected me but nerfing quickness and then pretending to balance the zephr skill by adding a stun break and making it last longer (when that ends up meaning you will use it in a situation where you will probably need to heal but won’t be able to for that much longer now) really bugs the hell out of me.
How can there be so many people finding flaws with the ranger class and not only is very little being done to fix them but things are getting nerfed.

The only time I’ve lost a 1v1 match in wvw with my ranger has been against a very high damage thief that I wasn’t prepared for. Also, a lot of this months wvw monthly kills for me were 1v1s. I’m not suggesting rangers are elite or unbeatable but if you know how to play them they are just as effective as the other classes.

I doubt the entire casual community spends their time worrying about farming event chests.
Wouldn’t it be nice to actually play the rest of the game instead of just farming the whole time?
I’m a casual player 5 days of the week anyways (play a lot more in the weekend) and I agree with this, its not a big concern at all if maw timer is longer, I was surprised it was so short to begin with.

I have my own problem with the map, in addition to the complaints above which I mostly agree with, the explore phase feels like it is barely any time at all AND if there was a timer it was not noticeable to me, trying to get exalted pylon HP last night and just as i was gliding down to it i got shunted back to the starting wp with a timer popping up for map closure (regular map closure not mega server stuffups). This is an HP you can’t get to unless the meta is complete so this means I have to do another full ds meta event just to get to this HP again

Cool. When will PvE be removed from map exploration? I mean I loathe PvE so it would be super sweet if Anet would also cater to me – a WvW/PvP player – for a change.
Exploration is a mainly PVE thing, it doesnt make sense for it to include WvW since that is a competitive mode and if you are exploring there rather than competing you are dragging down your team.
I think it much more likely they would put in a new type of harvesting than a new tier

its called progression and for a game to hold the interest of its audience there needs to be a meaningful sense of progression or else the players will get bored and leave.

no way, i dont want it and i dont see it happening. the only reason unobtainable (as yet) achievement rewards exist is to support the achievement system for the future.

I would like if they added more ways to control the pet, like how with heroes in guild wars 1 you could flag them to an area and they would go there
Happy to see someone from anet is still keeping an eye on the forums but I noticed they said we will just have to get used to the new quickness, I really hope that doesn’t mean they think the QZ skill is ok. It was rebalanced as if the ranger class is the same as the others but its not. Significantly lowering the overall damage you can do from the skill and increasing the risk. That makes QZ useless for its original purpose (burst damage) and as if in trade off the skill has been given a stun break essentially repurposing the skill. The problem with that is this – when do you need a stun break? typically when you are getting battered and need to heal asap. With the extra second added you can’t heal for that much longer. There is no longer any beneficial use of the QZ skill and I don’t see how anyone could honestly argue otherwise.
Maybe they could have a mini pet slot where you can equip a mini and it will always be on
it would certainly stop add value to more sigils and runes again, aside from a select few they are pretty valueless thesedays
