I zoned into WvW at about 5:30 pm server time tonight to buy some gear and there was no queue on either enemy BL. By 6pm KnT was getting rolling on BG BL which was queued but it sounded short. I play late NA (9pm server start) and rarely have queue issues.
Also, maybe it’s when I play, but I don’t run into skill lag all that often. Yes it comes here and there, but from my experience it’s not nearly as bad as some of you seem to make it out to be. I mean, if things were terrible, I’d be bummed and maybe consider transferring from the server I’ve been on since day 1 and quite fond of, but it’s not terrible, and the regular action and great fights wins out over some skill lag here and there.

Bolded the part that really caught my attention. Infusions have been a gripe of mine for awhile. This sounds VERY interesting. Lets hope there’s some meat to it.
I know yer peeved Kaimick but keep in mind that it’s not SoR, but an individual player or players that choose to take advantage of an obvious flaw with the field of view at certain resolutions. Sure it does seem to be brought up most often about a particular guild, but it’s still a small sub-set of the server. Sometimes you just have to shake it off and hope they stop using cheesy tactics or hope Anet fixes it.
In my personal opinion, this falls squarely into the category of “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should”. Arrow carts already suck as it is guys. Please don’t make it worse. Cata the wall or something.
Can you name any or all of the guilds Blackgate “bought” and the amounts paid? Also can you clarify your definition of “bought” under this context so we can keep things clear. Looking forward to your insight on the matter.

I think it’s fair to say guilds avoid TW like the plague. I really don’t know what you guys are going to do when you get to T2, there isn’t anyone that can beat you in T1(that I’ve seen), you guys will be bored in T2.

LOL! Darn internet. I had to read that a couple times to get the joke. My first time through the first thing that came to mind was “whoa this guy is mental”.
I think a good middle point would be to make badges worth something. I know many of us are completely broke, but have thousands of badges. I have 6g and 2500 badges.
If Anet would simply allow us to do something useful with these badges, the hardcore WvWers would feel less scorned about the World XP ignoring their months worth of hard work.
No details yet but depending on what will be available to buy with badges this could be the answer to appease players who have been active in WvW for months.
The queue has acted weird since release. Mike Ferguson even acknowledged that there was a problem back in February. I’m fairly confident that nothing was ever done about it though.
LOL! Another epic LOLCATS score update. I seriously felt that way sweeping Bay last night. I think we had to do sweeps on 4 or 5 separate occasions. We even set up a Treb at one point to kill a couple TC players that were holed up on the ledge behind the supply hut in inner Bay. I wonder if someone stumbled upon that Treb later and thought “what the heck is this doing here?”.

First of all im not an offical IRON spokesmen im just 1 of the players who “glitched” through the gate. I did it 3 times in about 2 min.

So this video shows pretty clearly what happened, and you can hear clearly on it that I am telling people to report the issue and to not attack anything inside, to jump out and get back to me.
The issue we had was that when at the water gate of any keep on EB you can’t drop siege, tried rams and golems but couldn’t drop anything for a large radius. So we just ‘facerubbed’ the gate down. We weren’t aware that it would cause people to teleport through the gate, if I were aware of it I wouldn’t have gone near it. We kept on the gate as by the time people starting porting through the gate was already significantly damaged and all of my members were leaving the keep if teleported to the other side.
We here in IRON don’t like exploiting / hacks and actively kick / report people who do resort to these lames ways of play. We prefer the head on approach of face vs zerg.
That being said, if you ever do have concerns with any member wearing an IRON tag feel free to give me a poke and talk about it.
Also, nice fights today in every borderland, and nice work from all the Rallians that hung out with us.

I’m from Blackgate and I was a SoS vet and that ATM post made me rage. I know one guild doesn’t speak for the entire server but I swear if I ever play during that time they are getting hard targeted and I’m not going to care about PPT.
In my opinion it’s a troll post. It doesn’t even remotely resemble the the tone and use of the English language that we’ve seen before when ATM/FOO would post here, and it was the first post ever for that account. I could be wrong, but I believe an imposter got a lot of people riled up.

I disagree. In my mind, losing the buffs when simply downed, and not killed, is what balances them. Yes they cost a lot of rank points, but they’re also very powerful. If it were easier to keep the buffs I might agree with those that feel they are OP. As such, I think the way they work now is fine.
Honestly, it’s not that bad once you get the hang of WvW. I always log out with more coin than I logged in with after repairs nowadays. It takes some time to get familiar with things but once you do it won’t seem so bad. Pinky promise!

If you had posted a month ago BG would move to T1 and fight JQ with PRX, Redguard, SF, and others along with SOS with ND and the other new additions and asked for a score prediction the answers would have been almost comical.
Still, when BG drops to T2 it will be because SOR is fighting a dead and gone server (SBI) and picking up a lot of rating. Much like when BG fought HOD and ET, only not as extreme as TC is still a solid server.
If SOR picks up enough rating next week BG will move down just in time for some tougher competition to arrive. I personally think SOR is going to get squashed a lot harder than BG is, but that won’t stop them from hanging in the tier for a lot longer than they should if that is truly how it shakes out.
I think SoR may surprise a lot of people. They definitely play hard, and they finally picked up some off hour coverage to at least not get fully PvDoored all night long. Still, I guess we’ll have our answers when the inevitable comes to pass.
BG won’t have a declining server to blow out and get a big rating jump from, but we didn’t this time around either. Still, it took a struggling SBI server to open the T1 door after 2 months in T2. I guess it really boils down to the coverage of whoever the new T2 servers are going to be, and of course how SoR scores in T1. By the looks of things, it’s going to be Maguuma and Kaineng.
The same phenomenon was reported earlier in this thread against siege on a BG held Hills keep. The best theory that was briefly thrown out there was that it might be a bugged Mesmer skill.
Because many people (myself included) came to the conclusion that karma trains can sometimes do more harm than good. Not everyone agrees with the opinion, but that’s just fine. Also, you won’t get a karma train out of Magumma so there you have it.

As far as the generalization about SoR, I know where I stand and where my community stands. What I am saddened by is the toxicity that has spread on this forum as of late trying to break down communities. Without further hijacking this thread, I will just say that we as a GW2 community should look down on anyone trying to break down another server/guild/family.

What happened to BG’s SEA this week so far? taking the week off? I can tell by the lack of chest thumping by BG trolls.
The entire server is taking the week off. Plenty of people zerging in PvE though. People keep telling me, “next week it’ll go back to normal.” I’ve heard that three weeks running now. But Anet isn’t going to stop releasing new PvE crap to grind so Blackgate is going to have to decide what they like more: massive amounts of gold or WvW. I prefer WvW so I’m not sure how long I’m going to stay on BG because I want to play with like minded players who are passionate about WvW and absolutely bored by PvE. That used to be Blackgate, but I’m not so sure anymore…
BG has taken 1st place in T1 7 times in the past 10 weeks, including a streak of 5 in a row. I think it’s natural for a group of players to scale back from the effort required to achieve that and take part in other elements of the game, or possibly even play other games. We saw it with JQ, and we might be seeing it with BG now. Also, I personally think the culture of BG enjoys the road to winning more than winning itself. That’s just a theory of mine though and I could be wrong.
The bottom line is, winning for too long will take its toll on participation, and will often be followed by a lull period in interest and activity. The best course of action (in my opinion) is to stick it out and ride the wave from peak to trough then back to the peak again. If more players did this and had some patience I think we’d have a lot more happy gamers.

“Okay we have too many Staff Eles” said nobody, ever. Staff Eles are one of those classes that you can stack onto a balanced zerg and make the zerg even stronger. With Water and Static Fields, good CC and good AE DPS Staff Eles offer a ton of support to the balanced zerg.

This is a tough one, but I’m going to throw the Engineer out there. A well played and properly geared and specced Engi can really wreak some havoc on a zerg’s back lines using the Bomb kit, Throw Mine to strip boons and they have a huge water field when destructing the healing turret.
It was a very similar PPT tick situation around this time yesterday as well. KN has a big numbers advantage during this stretch of time until our EU and early NA players get online. To me, it looks like it’s your already strong SEA force staying up later and getting less sleep than ours. I’m just glad we’re able to hold you guys a bit under 500, rather than the 600+ like you did to other servers on the way up.
That said, good stuff Kaineng. It’s been a fun match.
So much for a fair fight. Fort Aspenwood was using a hack elementalist. 6 of us were hitting her and she wasn’t going down. In addition, she had pretty much every buff in the game (regen was stacked 10 times) when no one else was near enough to buff her.
I think FA should be disqualified this round for cheating.
Report and move on. Also, if you think one alleged “invulnerable” player can change the outcome of a match in WvW in any way you’re mistaken. Proposing to disqualify an entire server is anger talking, not sense.

Setting transfer prices based on total server population has always been the incorrect way to approach the situation, particularly when the primary reason people transfer is WvW. They must have stats on average population in WvW per server. The transfer cost should be based on those numbers, not total server population which is largely irrelevant.
^ this. Also, why are the old school BG players raging about 2v1,exploits and hacks? I remember when BG was in T-1 the first go round and the forums were exactly 957 pages long with complaints of the JQ/SBI double team conspiracy. I also remember every orb in T-1 mysteriously vanishing and being unavailable for capture. Hell the orbs are gone from GW because of BG <3. That’s another reason I’m still shocked WM went to BG after all the funny posts they made about how BG had no honor.

Yeah. I witnessed similar circumstances in SoR occupied BG Garri late last night/early this morning. I think we counted 8 ACs up on the top floor, to go along with 2 Trebs, a Cata, and however many ACs there were at the two inner gates and on the Lord’s room floor.
Anet really needs to consider capping the number of ACs that can be built within a certain distance of each other. It’s actually forcing us to create even larger zergs just to counter the ACs, defeating what I believe to be the purpose of buffing AC damage in the first place (reduce zerg size and alleviate skill lag to a degree).
I wish I had a gold for every time JQ or BG hide behind arrow carts.
Throw SoR in there and we all can be rich. I wasn’t pointing fingers. It’s the current meta, and all sides are doing it.
This is very shameful behavior, SoR. The minute we get a guild, you guys tank the score to attract guilds. It is just not possible otherwise to hit 20 PPT.
Enough with this kind of stuff please guys. Clearly this is not what’s happening this week. It’s a morale/desire issue, plain and simple. We’ve all experienced it.

I can kind of see where Seigfriend is coming from. I’ve never seen SoR at such a low PPT before and I think the main reason is because they’re demoralized. Losing Garrison, their EB keep and a 20k lead is unfamiliar for SoR.
Being demoralized is one thing. Giving up intentionally to attain some goal is another thing entirely. That’s all I’m saying.

Meh whatever, this is just Noodles’ style. It worked for him on JQ, so it makes sense he’d do similar things on his new server. It was all pretty nauseating for me personally, but that’s just my views.
I wish DB the best back in T2. I was there back in late September when our (BG) mid-week comeback vs. DB kind of marked the end of their run and beginning of the subsequent slide after losing a solid chunk of NA guilds to SoS. It took time, but you guys held in there and slowly turned things around. Kudos to those on DB that stuck through it all. You have my respect for sure.
