This is probably a change made in response to player feedback and advice via CDI. People stated that organised small groups should be able to beat larger less-organised groups.
Congrats on destroying an entire game mode.
Think of it as re-education. That always goes down well.
I, for one, have wanted this for a long time and would like to thank whoever is fixing this profusely.
Evidence: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/suggestions/Undo-Compact/first
The hammer is so slow because the developers don’t want you to use it.
Possibly the worst matchup in the history of bad matchups. That league system can’t come soon enough.
Word to the wise on AG. Don’t come to rely on the former GH guilds, they obviously have a track record of defecting not just to any server, but the enemy server, when times are hard.
Good luck.
What? Server balance was achieved in Wednesday’s patch, thus;
Being killed while outnumbered no longer grants any war score to the enemy team.
Worst thread ever.
Should be a “Blob” finisher imo.
I want to thank Arenanet, too. For all of my complaints, this is a terrific game and the developers are for the most part wise and fair in their decisions.
It makes me incredibly sad to see this in WvW. Its always been my main gamemode in this game but Anet is going to have to make a decision very soon to do something very very drastic, I mean big changes to the game mode to fix it, or just call it quits and say we can’t carry on it with it anymore.
I can’t help but say this is completely their fault. They’ve done so little for this gamemode of such massive potential in 4 years.
I’m interested what will happen, too, since the gaming media (DocGotGame on Twitch, MassivelyOP and Zerolives to name three) have been critical of Anet on the topic of WvW.
The druid shoulders look like an ugly tangled mess first glance, but on examination are an intricate diorama of ranger pets.
World transfers need to end. It is most disturbing that Arenanet are letting this go.

Enjoy your new ranks!
While I find this post funny, I think it’s a bit cheap after Anet already have said they’re working on it in this post over here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/WvW-players-who-run-supply-for-repairs/first#post1839964
Decrease base healing, and increase scaling.
Why?
Because as supplementary healing mechanic it should be less useful by all these zerkers who didn’t invest single point into healing power.
Reading between the lines, I think the Johanson flagged this up on Ready Up when he said, “we never said we don’t want to have dps, and a tanks and a healer”, in secret code. Subliminally. Aliens.
I email a prayer wishing such to our great flying spaghetti monster.
A rev in every party would shut this down.[..]
Stop being so hyperbolic and use well though out arguments to justify your position that scourges are ok as is.
Well I just spat tea over my monitor, thanks!
Firstly, a Rev zerg would be just as if not more powerful than the Scourge zerg. 50x CoR = everybody dead, Dave.
Secondly, it’s preposterous for the anti-Scourge lobby to tell people to stop being hyperbolic.
My head exploded.

The game is good, it’s just the combat system that’s poor.
This mmo that has the best combat system in an mmo just doesnt have avery good combat system.
… and there’s no contradiction in your statement.
These new arrow carts are ridiculous. And with the range buff, its hard even to know where the arrows are coming from.
The response will be trebbing the snot out of everything before going in. It will be a protracted turtlefest.
You over-did-it on the arrow carts Anet.
As intended.
The new arrow carts change nothing except that smaller numbers of defenders can defend against close-ranged attackers.
Great change.

Implemented: ???
Ye, I am quite dismayed at the length of time it’s taking to implement such a simple-looking change. It leaves me wondering if there will ever be fixes to a lot of WvW’s major problems.
My optimistic(!) guess is that we will have to wait for Guild Wars 3 to get the improvements to WvW-style gameplay that we all want to see.
the statement soon was almost a year ago..
The statement “soon” is now a legend in and of itself.
it would be really interesting to see if both dawn and dusk share the percent of other legendaries (for example they have 0.01%) or if they have 0.005+0.005.
I made a previous thread about that, but i couldn’t get a dev response on how two precursors of the same type were handled. But knowing how bad the rates can be i assume there is a coin toss to decide what is the precursor(if there are two greatswords).
I doubt they would put extra code in, they are probably just items on a table.
Everything depends upon Arenanet’s fine tuning of Scourge and new stat/rune options.
Judging by the starting position of a 75s cooldown on the Scourge Rune, I think we can write it off for good, frankly. Even if they halved that, it’d be crap.
Looks like the Revenant Ventari legend tablet:
http://massivelyop.com/2015/06/04/guild-wars-2-unveils-the-leafy-goodness-of-the-revenants-ventari-legend/
Could one of the nearby players be a dev testing Revenant? (On second observation, that’s precisely what they are talking about in local chat there).

Alright, I know a lot have talked about this and no changes have been made so I shall bring it back up.
After reaching Dwayna everything gets messed up. Sparks are hard to aggro at times or they bug out by going around the nodes but never enter them.[..]
Seriously, 1 hour and 30 minutes TRYING to do it and I gave up, for a 3rd time. I thought dungeons should be fun and not a place where we “farm” our time in. I really hope some changes be made at least, for that boss.
I reported this issue where Robert Hrouda was looking for it: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Broken-events-in-Arah-Explorable-Dungeon/first#post893234
… and it took two of us 8 hours to complete, losing 6 other players along the way.
Never again.
Note how Riyanto.8197 has rerolled to an alt to do this RNG stuff.
All characters have a hidden Luck stat (not related to MagicFind) that determines how the RNG treats them. You should reroll until you get a “Lucky” character, like Riyanto.8197 did.
Great to see this thread dumped in a subforum that nobody at Arenanet will read.
“But the plans were on display…”
“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”
“That’s the display department.”
“With a flashlight.”
“Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.”
“So had the stairs.”
“But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?”
“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.”
Here is a solution: Join an international server like the Italians, Portuguese, etc have to.
Not the ideal solution but not a bad one either.
My vision for perfect WvW is putting big fights inside structures. That’s when it’s most fun, for me, and what brings all the elements of WvW together.
I think we need more dramatic fighting inside keeps.
I like Desert map Air and Fire keep Lords. They have the right amount of power – sometimes enough to swing a fight and lead to an outnumbered victory. This is a fun thing that should not be changed. Well done, Arenanet.
The old last-gasp, desperate Lord room fights tend be very rare nowadays. In the past, these battles could last long enough for the third side to participate and lead to great, epic battles in the keeps.
I would like to see the return of (or a new replacement for) several features which were removed for dubious reasons;
- the “bug” that meant people could waypoint into contested structures,
- the “bug” that meant people could banner-rez Lords.
These are what made WvW more dramatic and exciting.
While Emergency Waypoints are fun and cool (well done, Arenanet), they are also on a long timer which is six(?) times as long the “bug” – this is too long and often leads to zergs capping before defenders can arrive.
Nobody really wants to cap stuff without a decent (read: even) fight, first!
I also believe that the Desert map Garrison walls need to be reappraised regarding which walls are destructible. At the moment, there are too few options to counter point-blank siege here – this is one reason that there aren’t enough fights at this keep. (On a side-note, I’d like to see the whole structure redesigned from the ground up. It’s horrible even for defenders).
There are plenty of opportunities for the map guys to make changes to the WvW maps, but I’d keep a copy of the current maps so that reversion is an option – WvW players are notoriously picky, but I’d also be looking to change the layout of ABL hills – it simply doesn’t make sense to have a really long wall at one side that people can;
- put lots of holes in, and
- just walk past
In the attached picture you can see, I would remove the blue wall and replace with gates at the positions of the red lines. It would mean shorter journeys for dolyaks, but upgrading hills is difficult anyway.
Everything in this post is my opinion – please explain why, if you disagree.

This sort of thing happens a lot. I think it’s people like Wanze. It’s more likely to be a bot tho. You know there’s all manner of weird algorithms at work trying to fathom prices.
Masterwork (green) Berserker’s Cabalist Gloves went up to 30s 40s today. Mine sold at 9s each, I thought that was a lot!

I am a little horrified that Yb are having their glicko manually adjusted and not earning their place in tier 1 when they solely play a pvd game and avoid fights at every opportunity.
Tiers can’t be considered part of WvW anymore because of the linkings – weaker servers are paired with strong ones, strong ones get a leg-up from their partners.
The ladder is no longer a representation of how competitive a server is.
So the manual adjustment of glick0 in addition in order to make more competitive matches makes sense.
TL;DR * Ladder illogical because Linking.
Please could the devs move the anchor point higher up on the back of Asura models?
As you can see from this image, a slightly higher anchor point will allow the devs to stop shrinking the models when the weapons are stowed and prevent the weapon from clipping with the ground.

It also sucked all of the fun out of the game for my opponent (who essentially couldn’t play) and for me (because the strategy would play out pretty much the same way every time).
The lessons I learned? Just because it works doesn’t mean it’s fun and strategies based on denying a player the opportunity to play aren’t a lot of fun.
Thank you, Berk.8561, for the BEST FORUM POST since the game was launched.
TL;DR:
Frustrating things
- Stealth – Playing against stealth is frustrating because there are not enough tools to counter-play.
- CC – Helplessly watching character frozen in place or punted around for long durations is frustrating.
- NPC Immunities are frustrating.
I’ll add that a long-time slogan I’ve been bandying around (this relates to the third point) is, “why give players powers if the bosses are going to be immune to them?”.
^^ This.
It’s annoying to see impossible offers on the TP.
[Leather price] When are you fixing…
John Smith does nothing at work:
To address this, we’re taking a step back from the standard amount of economy balancing we’re doing; in fact, we’ve actually already started doing that.
He does more than babysit the economy
jk… jeebus ><
Hey Talindra,
I play OCX timezone too and am on Piken. We have lots of fun running small roaming groups on borderlands and there is usually a reasonable presence on EB. Feel free to whisper me ingame if you want to chat more
Hi Talindra,
With the greatest of possible respect to Terrier and his server, I’d recommend against this option since I didn’t see anything “small” from them. We have had to fight them for the last two weeks.
Their performance in the tournament suggests they should soon be at the top of the ladder with queues on every borderland.
Hope this helps!

How about now? Is it safe to delete all the junk now?
I still have;
Mysterious Soggy bag,
Strange Shell,
Alchemical Potion,
Map of the Southsun Cove,
Map Fragment.
I think the laser event is really interesting in concept.
The idea seems to be to pull all of the servers to the map with the event on it, and to some extent it works. The problems occur when sides give up, and this happens a LOT.
Let’s propose a scenario: We don’t bother turning up to the event because we know the enemy have more players/more people at the event/our few there got wiped and told us.
Result:
The enemy who did the event say that the event is boring and PvE because there was no fight. They take the map with little-to-no resistance because the other side has given up.
Conclusion:
How is this different than the Alpine maps which were often karma-trained by a dominant side?
There’s an interesting event in the middle which would be received with far more positivity if the old problems of uneven matchups and/or one world/server having greater numerical advantages/disadvantages at specific times of day.
Shade summoning seems somewhat … complex? It seems odd that at times you can pop 3 out and at other times, it’s cooldowns galore.
I guess it doesn’t really matter, they are so situational it’s not really that good a mechanic.
Sand Swell is amazing and should be baseline for necro. That’s the mother of all movement abilities!
Trail of Anguish is also fantastic, and is what the Warhorn #5 should have been instead of bees that aggro everything, putting you in combat and making the swiftness pointless.
It’s pretty obvious that a lot of deaths occur directly as a result of CC. It would be nice if players could quantify this.
Going to add a change list at the top of the bottom post for updates that I make to the list. Here’s one change we forgot to document:
Guardian
- Shield of Absorption cooldown goes from 30s to 24s baseline.
- Shield of Judgement cooldown goes from 25s to 20s baseline.
The above skills will still be affected by the shield recharge trait and will go to 19s for Shield of Absorption, and 16s for Shield of Judgement.
And Anet shows that they still do not know what the problem is…
/agree. Such a shame that the (literally) iconic guardian weapon is so fundamentally weak that you see more engineers wielding the legendary shield than you do guardians.
I like this, but I think it should go hand-in-hand with a lot of other related changes.
On it’s own, this change does mean that upgrading keeps will be pointless. If, however, upgrades cost Karma or were free, instead, then it’s another matter.
DAOC had no AOE cap and had long duration crowd controls that a small group (8 man) could take out large forces. It was fun and the imbalance was not as a big of a deal.
Don’t try to rewrite history. These long duration clipping-range AoE mez/stuns were the bane of the game and ruined the fun for many as they stood there looking stupid while an 8-man group used /assist macros to pick them off one by one or massive PBAoE spam to kill them as a group. This was horrible and unfun.
Anyway, back on topic…
New about season 5 is coming very Soon™!
Here I am trying to decide whether you forgot an entire word or just a letter, but waiting for both news and new info all the same :P.
One letter -_-
You know those bugs you don’t make…
At first glance Ascended weapons seem to be turning the game into World of CraftCraft
According to the Ready Up #15, it seems to me that the reason you are bad is that :
- Warriors have your Kill Shot.
Bullet pointed for the devs.
Well of course there is no reason for vets to play. Its not like sPvP is gonna teach them how to perform surgery on a horse or something.
Well done, sir. Well done. /golfclap
I concur. Some viable alternatives would spruce up this aspect of the game. Having said this, since we do have one solid heal, there’s no urgency for the implementation of said alternatives.
I believe it would require a commitment that MO isn’t prepared to make for the following reasons;
- He gave the WvW players an overflow map, regular WvWers hated it.
- He gave the WvW players a new map, many regular WvWers hated it.
- The WvW players can’t agree on what WvW “should be” anyway.
Why would he put effort into a new project when he can’t even guarantee that it will be popular? At least the living story players seem to enjoy their new content.
