Wow, you got some pretty art there, PvP. Gratz!
Why is Anet still ignoring this?
… because all the people who built it went to Amazon Games and the new staff don’t know what’s going on or how to fix something even the old devs had no idea how to balance.
It needs atleast have Sword and shield in the spec.
[..]
Atm i’m Linda torn between Support Herald and a Chronomancer.
There you go. Both of those can use Sword and Shield. Maybe there’s a Warrior build too, but I think that’s the solo “Run-Away Warrior” build, which seems to have disappeared in favour of thieves and more thieves.
I’m pig sick of this:
Breakstun if needed and dodge.
It’s not so hard to do…
It IS hard to do, especially given the short timespans involved.
I’m sick of all the L2P.
I think the “explosive finales” thing will be fireworks are now usable in WvW. Hmm.. maybe that’s asking too much.
Will there be a replacement method for making superior siege?
5. The WvW rank system is terrible and boring. Many other mmos have pulled this off correctly and successfully. The current system is bland and doesn’t allow for further character development in WvW.
The reason the ranking system is borked is … transfers. Again.
With very little to buy, particularly for dedicated WvW players, people are feeling wealthy at the moment and so transfers are relatively cheap. Numerous guilds are regularly server-hopping. This upsets the ladder system and makes it impossible for it to settle down.
Solution: limited server transfers per year. It should definitely happen if the ladder system is to remain in place.
Hum if this was in wvw stealth trap problem solved. Do not chase it just like it come into to trap.
Nobody drops stealth traps because nobody knows where invisible guy is. It’s a hugely circumstantial tool.
When we remove the waypoint upgrade, what should be put as a new upgrade to replace it?
A couple of ideas:
- Golem workshop. Repair old golems, Customise by adding a single weapon from a list.
- Greased floor. Swiftness buff for allies when inside the keep.
I disagree with the OP. The current system is great, keep going, but do polish and fix existing stuff, and as with tequatl, don’t be afraid to remix current content.
I think this would be a fantastic and fresh change for season 2:
Where instead of 3 servers fightin the servers are split by 3 colours and fight each other with WvW guesting allowed to servers within your colour.
I can +1 this. I have reservations about it, but still… very promising!
Lupi can’t be easy on any class, even on a thief, so gz. I didn’t watch the video, is it a one-shot kill or just heartseeker spam?
Selling one are we? Most subtle. Please note the “these forums are not a grey market” sticky.
As a guardian, I feel abandoned by Anet. Every other class eventually kills me but I can slow most of them down a bit.
Necros are obviously top of the pile thanks to Josh Groucheroo and his influence and access to the devs on the State of the Game show.
Arenanet will never ever nerf thief. Karl McLain won’t allow it.
THE issue affecting WvW is not siege trolls. It’s bad MATCHUPS. We need to be discussing a replacement matchup system instead, imo.
Today, the shroud, despite all traits that support it, fail at being a good mean of damage output due to the ratio damage output/shroud decay.
It’s obvious that the developers think the opposite of necro players: Shroud “traits that support it” just got TWO huge nerfs in one “Balance” patch!
Everyone will just stop being 1st
I lolled!
How to kitten PoF classes:
Can Daredevil obliterate it faster than it can obliterate existing classes? If so, forget that class.
That’s why I’ll be leaving my purchase until I see a good reason to pay.
Hey Guys,
Happy Easter! Please could you make lots of videos of you steamrolling the 70 man Abadon’s Mouth zerg? It would make me very happy.
Lots of love from Gunnar’s Hold.
Charr models are a nightmare/disaster in terms of development cost. I concur with the OP, humans should have been the only race.
I’d dearly love to see someone look at this. Please make it happen. Pretty please with chocolate sprinkles and a mountain of Quaggan corpses on top.
I didn’t believe in Stun Breaks either, but just adding one to your skillbar and this particular skill being the only one that is doable while being stunned (at least in my current setup) works wonders since I use it quite frequently now.
Also, as Crinn said, dodge, block, stability.
Stunlock is being knocked down and just being able to watch numbers on your skills, unable to dodge or block or click stability (ironically) because the cooldowns are all permanently up and then you die. That’s Stunlock. It happens all the time in WvW. It’s a nightmare. McLain and Chronacher are obviously not motivated to fix this because I’ve read about management problems on Glassdoor (staff comments) and there’s no carrot OR stick at the company.

I like what Diku is trying to do because WvW
D___ E___ S___ P___ E___ R___ A___ T___ E___ L___ Y___
needs a solution to the problems of populations and matchups.
I’m not sure Diku’s is the best solution, but at this stage I’ll take anything. ANYTHING.
Our server’s core community is twiddling it’s thumbs waiting for the next match, playing Fallout4 another game and eyeing Camelot Unchained and Crowfall upcoming Realm-vs-Realm-style games with relish.

I think this is a legacy from a period during development when Arenanet didn’t want their game to be about staring at boons and conditions. Instead they wanted players to be able to identify boons/condis people had by looking at the playing area of the screen.
Sadly, they abandoned this at some point and adopted WoW-style buff (boon) and debuff (condition) bars.
sorry, it isn’t the most effective in ppt but it is indeed the most simple way of playing wvw
I concur with this person’s post the most.
- It’s hard enough to get 1 commander, let alone multiple ones
- Small groups will wipe to enemy ones which are larger (usually)
- It is safer to travel in a large group
- Shared death is less impactful on morale. The more people it is shared with, the less impactful the morale hit
What I’m trying to point out is that while having a small group of elite doods who could wipe zergs sounds cool on paper, in practice it would be bad for the game-mode. IMO.
I’m in the same boat as the OP and can confirm there are tonnes of thieves in WvW at the moment making life miserable for soloers with their PvP builds.
Please could Arenanet force Karl McLain to nerf them? He’s been making life worse for everybody else for 5 years.

Gliding is implemented exceptionally well, and is mostly of benefit to defenders. This change is a huge improvement: there are now more and better ways to get big fights faster.
Well done, Arenanet. Kindly ignore these few naysayers.
The Desert borderland Shrine buffs are such that it’s impossible to rely on them.
- The buffs are increasingly useful,
- It is impossible to use the buffs since there is a high chance of them no longer being available when you do,
- This results in people assuming they are never available,
- The resulting play is that nobody cares about shrine buffs,
- No commanders use “zero fall damage” or “fire portal” in combat,
- Nobody makes any effort to activate them for the buffs/strategic value, just for credit/loot instead.
Conclusion
- I believe that if there is to be a buff, it needs to be reliable, not one that could just vanish when it is needed as part of a strategy.
- The “zero fall damage”, “safe lava/portals”, and “invisibility cloud” are all great ideas, but they aren’t implemented in a practical manner.
- Numerical bonuses would be more appropriate for the “maybe it’s on, maybe it’s off, who cares, it’s just a bonus” nature of the Shrines.

My thoughts on this are as follows;
- The armour is pretty, of that there is no doubt. Compliments to the artists and animators.
- It seems that a lot of development time went into it. IMO it’s a massive waste of resources.
- I have never wanted to do raids and this won’t change my mind.
No, no, no GS is fine. Nothing to see here. Please get back to complaining about the real problems such as;
- base HPs.
The free market shall decide*
*except for all the times it shall not.
I like the jumping puzzles, but I hate the timed ones. With this and the guitar-hero bellringing, it seems Arenanet want us to Have a Very Twitchy Christmas.
I don’t think that is something that can be addressed by map design.
I agree, but (IMO) it IS something that should be addressed at the same time, if they hope to retain the returning players and not have them enjoy a few weeks of new map and then leave because the matches are still, ultimately, no better than before.
At least we have Hammers <3
Not for long, if you keep blabbing. Shhh!
This is Ian Boyd, the respected and humble master strategist of GW1

I believe you can do cast them while knocked down.
Are there any real differences between Guardian and Warrior for Roaming?
I know that Warrior has more DPS typically, and Guardian is more supporty, but I know that builds can change all of that so I was wondering what the main differences are…
I’ll be roaming with a Thief friend so will any of the Guardian’s attributes make it better than Warrior? I know Warrior can lock down and CC well…
Thanks.
Guardian Roaming, plus 1vx fights. video is only a month old, so it’s not outdated.
This is very atypical. The guardian is very good and these enemies are extremely incompetent.
Welcome to WvW, orenwolf.1953. It’s great to see such enthusiasm when so many people seem to be becoming quite jaded with the state of things. Some thoughts on your comments:
1 – I see that you can’t join Teamspeak, but perhaps you can still join a guild? There are all manner of WvW guilds from total slackers to hardcore raiders. Making friends this way helps immensely. Lots of guilds have banks full of things that are there specifically to help people like you.
4 – This can’t work, sadly, as you point out yourself, because the larger force would have an even greater advantage. They can move from camp to camp much more quickly than a small group as they kill all the guards almost instantly. Add in any towers full of supply they capture on the way and you can fill up a Keep in no time.
5 – Kraljevo.2801 is correct. This is the holy grail of WvW/RvR. While I agree with him/her that time-gating the whole scoring system would be one solution, I think there are other, less dramatic (and, admitedly, less effective) ways to soften the problem, such as stretching resources more thinly the more one side captures – making it easier for enemies to re-capture and ninja objectives.

Also comeon Anet let us know the new ratings system, just shows a complete lack of respect to all those who have paid for this game and put time and effort into it.
Arenanet have NO obligation to explain their internal systems to you, and I encourage them to keep them a secret.
Sure, let’s remove every class’ most powerful ability. Equality, right?
I always recommend to people when getting into investing of any kind to define your outs before you invest. Pick numbers for profit and loss and time early and stick to them.
Funny story. I once bought a bunch of Consortium Clipper skins because they were never going to drop anymore. Then I was happy that the price didn’t deflate and I kept hold of them as a long-term investment/hedge.
Then Arenanet made them drop from new content and my investment was ruined. Great job guys.
My advice is to never invest in anything ever. Someone will change the rules and leave you with nothing.
Maybe they could do time-dilation like in Eve Online …. hahaa!
WvW is having issues with the damage creep.
Even tier3 doors and walls can’t prevent a determined group from standing in a safe-spot and using weapon skills to destroy a door.
This is a problem because THERE IS NO COUNTERPLAY.
…
Yeah there is… determined group to defend a tower is the counter to a determined group who wanna cap it
I guess my original post was really just a vent about the persistent WvW problem of uneven sides, where a small (otherwise they wouldn’t bother being inside the objective) group of defenders has to try to beat away a larger group.
In this scenario, I think there should at the very least be a way to repair the door without being killed by the massive amount of weapon skills striking through it.
Imagine a zone where there are some elements of PvE with elements if PvP. Some of the logistics might be tricky, but if pulled off correctly, could make for an interesting zone.
Key points:
1. No cannons, arrowcarts, trebuchets, or other strange WvW buildables — this is exactly what I’m trying to avoid.
2. A starting safe area for all coming to the zone
3. Bosses/champs or series of bosses with lucrative loot. Loot can also be stolen by others, say if they do more damage (or Nifhlel style of last hit wins)
4. Players can be killed by other players in unsafe zones
5. A way to form teams/squads, or perhaps teams of 5 is enough? Was thinking perhaps an LFG tab only visible while inside the zone.I think ANet should try this. Ofc more details need to be worked out, but yeah, had to get it out of my system.

This sounds like an idea for a whole new game! Good luck with it.
They don’t like polls, but if there were one, I’d say sure, anything.
A N Y T H I N G .
It’s hilarious that we’ve come up with so many suggestions with no reply.
Heck, FIVE LONG YEARS into the game and we STILL haven’t even got a way to see the ladder in-game.
It’s an absolute disgrace that GW2’s only good game-mode gets neglected so routinely.
Anybody remember this? Reminds me of the first few lines of this.
(edited by Svarty.8019)
You know that situation. When someone like Ranger use Rapid Fire and you go to invis.
You are invis and ranger still shooting arrows on you until skill end. There is no logic,
snip
Logic like going invisible as if by magic, or summoning lightning or illusory clones or magical spirit weapons from nowhere? In video games, logic does not apply.
Fireworks still don’t work in WvW
