Karl, are you considering centering Water Globe water field on the tempest?
The hype train is taking a wild trip around the Heart of Maguuma, so yeah, forums are only active because those of us who are working (like me).
Why not maybe create alliances that share earnings, or some kind of relationship that doesn’t solely rely on representing? It may further help in WvWing too.
I hope one day ArenaNet will sit down and improve the forums by offering a way to “hide” a post until the OP re-write it, taking into consideration the warning. Also, the broken search…
I wanted magical discs (like in TERA), but folks are surprisingly against it. :P
I am watching closely how GemStore skins will relate to these achievements, they better be VERY careful about giving free stuff for cashers. I’d hate having to compete with those who spend a lot of cash in the game to get skins, as if giving all that huge amount of stuff for GW1 players wasn’t enough.

you could just test it.
This. It’s not that hard to figure out, and there are the forums to answer such questions, sometimes a dev will drop by to help you.
They should offer an option, or maybe come up with a new system for handling item-oriented special particle/color effects. (hope for the second!)
Here is a question to Rubi. What do you do with the question that are not related to the topic, the ones you said you skimmed over. Do you pass them over to the relevant people so that they can have a look at them or have you taken note of them so in future Q&A livestreams on other topics they will be asked? Or are they just Ignored all together?
They are absolutely correct do scrap all non-related questions, because they weren’t requested in the first place. When you are asked to question another specific part of the game, do so, until then all the non-related questions will be ignored. No dev has to pass any question to anyone while they’re off the topic.
They’ll nerf it, and people WILL work around it to get an efficient farm, and they’ll nerf it again, until it becomes “meh” and people leave the map. We’ve all seen this (cough cough Orr cough).
Just to add to the topic: The challenge must be about COMPLEX boss patterns and not solely high amounts of HP, this tendency is boring people at lightspeed and although the game is in good state as of now this may not last much.
And the challenge is not limited to bosses, AC got nice reworks and the bosses are cool but p1 final boss is still bug-able at stairs and all the paths to the bosses are kittening full of trash mob not worth killing. Balance the path itself too.
Please, balance things but do it in a good way, stop Living Stories and fix the game until it gets the best it can be; seems like you fix some stuff just to distract people, but we are here and we see what you’re changing and what is a true rework.
Also, don’t deny reward system is bad, because it is, I have no clue how you’ll figure this out but you have to do something, the game isn’t just about “WOW I went through a dungeon and finished it successfully”… so what? This please casuals but the game is already crowded with casual-focused content, you are moving away any sort of hardcore gamer.
And yeah I had an idea of putting cosmetic/skin item progression, look for it in suggestions sub-forum as it probably got buried down there.
Just look at the prices as they try to still profit something out of this falling market. hahah
Weapons and Skills locked behind Elite Spec
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Why? Quick answer: Balance. Long answer: Balance.
They’ve been doing internal balance passes until they got to this framework. Undoing it would require a whole lot more balance, and could give a lot of headache to the devs.
What surprises me the most is that they chose the easiest way, and still made two elite specs quite subpar. Oh well…
I think ANet should only leave MF as a food buff + gemstore item, it’s enough, and balance loot tables accordingly.
What do you guys think?
I wanted something more flashy, but oh well.
The usefulness will depend on the elites cool-down and duration.
Mist Form and Armor of Earth will see a significant boost from the elite, IMO.
Depending on the overload you use, you must use AoE, they’re kinda forcing us back into cantrips once more. I don’t even…
I’d like an event fairy.
One that shouts “Hey! Listen!” every time a World boss is going to come up.
Maaan! I remember from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, you could have a Fairie Familiar who would say there’s something “funny about this wall” (or something) whenever you were close to a secret passage hidden by a breakable wall.
+1 for the Fairy!
You think Anet forgot?
That’s 100% impossible, they never overlook promises.
Where is our Signet of Arcana elite? ç.ç
It was rumoured to be an elite signet that would have a chance at granting Quickness to the ele upon attacking the enemy with a short ICD, and upon activating it would recharge all attunements.
They should rename those potions to “Selfish Potion” instead. lol
While we’re at it, rename the game to Leech Wars 2: The Rampage of Mob-tagging.

New specializations locked behind gem store?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Lol. They need to pay the bills. I don’t get why people want stuff for free when the game is already B2P.
Farming is fine unless it becomes overwhelmingly tedious, didn’t a dev state gw2 farming would be “creative” or something back then?
In what content over the last 3 years have you ever been called on to do nothing but heal? Elementalist has always been, and has always excelled as a class that can shift roles on the fly mid-combat. A heal-speced Druid heals… and if they use their on the fly role swap… they STILL HEAL.
If you can’t figure out how to bring more to a situation with 4 attunements and 20 weapon skills Elementalist probably isn’t the class for you in the first place. But if you can weave the elements and damage, CC, withstand, and heal as needed the prospect of being a mono-healer ought to look pretty kitten dull even with the shiny new FX. (and you can do it all without the stupid pet AI….
)
Well, I know, but the nature of the class (attunements) is preventing the spec from becoming something somewhat refreshing in terms of gameplay. I pretty much wanted to see more focused roles with Tempest. Chronomancers for instance, got a particular buff, I did believe eles would have it to differentiate from the base class, but they’re still playing around the very same scheme we always had, we’re just delivering the effects from another angle. It doesn’t feel different at all.
Stop faux-guessing and get in early on the REAL answer:
Infinite Continue Coin + Box o’ Fun + 250 Thin Leather + 250 Bloodstone Dust = Portable Super Adventure Box
My body is ready!!
ArenaNet fails at item depth, ’nuff said. That is one thing I miss from WoW.
I see a lot of builds combo’ing nicely with Arcane/Water, but then there is no damage and you could simply skip this spec. Bad thing is that eles are already awesome for healing, so I expected a more damage-oriented spec…
“Shock and Aftershock!” would be a great option if its cooldown wasn’t so high (50s? really?). Element Bastion’s healing is very low, like, really, it’s embarrassing low. Sand Squall should be a blast finisher, and tempests should gain resistance from some source.
Overall, overloads are very lackluster (Earth is fine IMO), and despite people being afraid of powercreep, tempests just don’t do more damage than a Lava Font ele anyways…
It seems I’m not the only one uneasy about GemStore skins interfering in the achievements after all…
These merging really bugs me. I know the subject is related, but it completely screws the talk.
I honestly think that is why it is done, so the conversation is incoherent and all the important points get drowned out in the sea nonsense.
Me and some others were talking about raids, and then we’re thrown into I-don’t-know-what talks. lol
You don’t need to only do one role. I have felt pretty good about a berserker/cleric mix and throwing out heals while also doing boons and damage. Plus the control with most of our weapon sets.
Shh… don’t tell people you can mix ‘n match stats, they’re grab their torches and pitchforks! :0
This is a good opportunity to make use of the newly-added “displacement” mechanics present in revenant skill. Make the elite something like “Seven Winds” (type: Arcane), displacing foes caught in whirlwinds scattered around the area which rapidly move in random locations. Displaced foes receive damage equal to Lightning Rod.
(edited by Valento.9852)
I agree with OP. o_o
It’s creepy, from a single grub to a lurking champion, every mob has a 40% chance of dropping nothing, and this is like 90% in champions…
Please. Make it stop seriously. o_o
It’s only normal the game would expand on options, I find these kinds of topic a bit silly tbh.
The current experience points will be used to level masteries, but that’s a pretty good question: between june, 23rd and the xpac, what will happen with the experience we earn.
I for one don’t WvW much, but I definitely don’t belittle such changes. It’ll have a great effect on overall WvW experience.
Glad to hear they support you in such a careful way! Here’s hoping you get better very soon, and enjoy Wintersday in Tyria! ^^
What boggles my mind is why you do not add polls in-game after completing an event, or after a combat encounter. It’s strange why you don’t do this.
Strangely, they did. For once. During first GW2 closed betas… it was simple and helpful.
That’s why I firmly believe we should NOT get legendary armor with sparkling effects and leave that to trinkets. We already got flashy legendary weapons, if we put more sparkle (and see I like glow) we’ll get blind. It will get to a point that’ll be unbearable.
It’s been talked about quite a few times now, and I’d like to know what you guys think about it. Ever since they released the Collection framework as a new way to track progress for rewards (AP’s, titles, items, etc) I’ve been thinking how awesome it would be if there was a Bestiary collection (maybe split by categories?), to show just how many of the enemies you have seen. They could add very exclusive enemies to hard locations and incentive exploration in all of Tyria!
Seeing this video made me think about it again. It would be very cool to go on a journey Pokémon-ish collecting “data” about the creatures and enemies hahah.
Thoughts?

Just wanna drop this here.
Seems like buying a precursor is starting to get meaningless. Better sell your mats and buy the finished legendary, huh..The last 58 Dusks sold for an average of 1152g (by 54 unique sellers).
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/Dusk-2000g/first#post4048636
Edit: those 58 dusks sold within the last 60 hours.
Around 64k inflating the market even more. ’Cause balancing economy iz for teh weak!
Obsidian Scantum Achievement made me report 20 people, at that point I stopped counting and I am still lieing on the ground, reporting everyone who lays a hand on my mates.
Sorry what? Hahah now this is totally kitten, really reporting for DA BAD GUY KILLED ME! PUNISH ‘EM! =’(
Please, grow up.
Hell I liked to do it alone last year. It’s one of the most fun mini games in GW2.
You can always enter instance alone… this change is pointless… guess I’m losing these achievements this time.
You can transfer freely for now, but it’ll cost 2,000gems in the future.
It’s just a simple game, do they fear SAB will lure the attention off the xpac? It sort of is already. Believe it or not I have a bunch of buddies complaining about xpac features, calling it shallow in content and whatnot.
