we already have way points, wtf you need mounts for
besides they look so silly, and companies add all type of kittened mounts to squeeze money from players.
no no no. we don’t need mounts.
+1
You can play plenty of games out there that meet your mount needs.
forum dwellers would go nuts about the need to
“grind” to get exp, new swords, new potions etc
You already have your mount.
It’s that dead horse you’re beating.
Mounts will just make you lazy and fat. Tyria needs capable heroes, not shambling, wheezing land whales.

Your skin will wrinkle and your youth will fade, but your soul is endless.
Mounts should be “challenging group content”. Each time before you can enter your
mount you must just kill a raid boss.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
I wouldn’t mind having a fast moving mount in some of the HOT maps where there are a serious lack waypoints…
However, I’d rather just have more waypoints in HOT.
Just an fyi
Humans vs Centaurs. umm tactical advantage?
No transportation?
Dude we have helicopters
An entire world with no mounts for player NOR NPC’s is just too unrealistic.
Should I mention that some mobs in HoT have mounts?
Theory debunked. Mounts exist.
In all serious though, this horse has been beaten into the ground so many times we should have held a funeral 50 times over by now. Mounts are not needed. Waypoints exist for FTM (faster than mount) travel. There are various methods of gaining speed boosts already in the game to help you get those waypoints unlocked.
Mounts do exist in the form of cosmetic toys. Magic carpet, broomstick. Not many, but a couple.
Now go eat some pie.
Leader of Looking For Gandalf [LFG]
Worst Commander of Ferguson’s Crossing (Self Proclaimed)
An entire world with no mounts for player NOR NPC’s is just too unrealistic. Every civilization has used them and yet Tyria can’t figure out how to tame a few? How dumb are these inhabitants?
Dumb enough to have site-to-site teleports that require only a tiny piece of self-contained hardware at the receiving end. Yeah, every day I’m on the road I wish we were that dumb. Our mounts (cars) seem absolutely brilliant by comparison… Not.
You might want to start over completely on your ‘realism’ argument. It doesn’t go where you think it does
.
Suggestion: Release a Black Lion mount in a similar timing as the Black Lion Weapon Skins. Each new release will have 1 new mount. Cost: 1700 gems or equivalent.
Suggestion: Runes are a thing. So are speed signets. And Traits. EVERY SINGLE PROFESSION can get a permanent speed buff, but must pay a price for one of the most sought out, most impactful benefits in the game. Decide what you’re willing to give up for it, but don’t expect it to be handed to you in a way that obsoletes all of those existing character options.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

i wouldnt mind mounts but i didnt knew this game needed to be saved.
I found a browser extension that can invert colours on web pages, to make them less blinding during night time gaming. This is particular issue for GW2 (for me, anyway) because I usually have the Wiki, event timers, forums etc. on a second monitor, and all those pages are blinding white.
Just throwing this post out there as an idea for anyone else who has issues with the annoying brightness of these websites.
I’ll include example screen shot of the wiki.

I would have left it alone if it was just one thread, but since you started more than one with the same type. There are two Gs in Suggestion.

5885kittenad.6104:Europe tends to be more socially liberal than America, which unfortunately edits outs swears, violence, and other “inappropriate” elements far too often. It’s why I don’t like big corporate fake “translations” of animes and prefer fan translations.
In other words consider being thought of in Europe as a gift assuming localizations are different from America to Europe. Some stuff deemed “inappropriate” in America is shown in even kid shows in Japan, don’t know about Europe however but do know they have nude billboards so make of that what you will.
Unfortunately, an American translator won’t keep true to the original and think to himself, “Whoa! That would offend a lot of Americans, better delete the episode or at least change some things around utterly obliterating the original author’s intended feel and message!”
Like I said fan dubs and subs are typically better for this reason as they keep the originals.
What in the world does this have to do with the OP not being able to play with his friends?
I’m just saying given America’s conservative values companies have a tendency to sanitize material (e.g., editing out blood and swears originally in a cartoon meant for teens) and therefore being on a European server potentially has benefits.
For one thing, its the same company so any translation that happens goes through their system. Whether or not he is on an EU or NA server, it’s still the same. The second thing is, his complaint is he can’t play with his friends. He wants help with that. Not social commentary about translations or who is more socially liberal.

Server population check online
thank you Lord of rings i knew this information was here some place. just for got this
part of it. and also thanks for posting this too
now maybe some will get the idea
more better but iam not holding my breath on it
That doesn’t offer any new information: it’s exactly the details offered in the “change world” option from the character select screen. It doesn’t tell us anything about PvE or PvP populations, since “world population” depends entirely on WvW _participation. It also doesn’t tell us that much about WvW participation, since it only shows how full each world is — if everyone moved from the servers that were full 3 months ago and spread out, we’d see a similar set of data as if 15-20% of WvW players left the game entirely.
In short, all we know is which worlds are the most popular for WvW among people that play a lot of WvW; we don’t know anything about how many people are playing in any mode.
But people do it anyway, this should be taken out of the EULA. It’s ridiculous. I don’t share my game but for god’s sake between family members? Where are we, in North Korea?
Even family members can get into fights about who did what to a shared account and drag support into the argument. Or husband and wives can divorce or argue, one side locks the other out then support Is supposed to resolve the mess. Or cases of regret, where someone give a family member his account then later changes his mind and contacts support to get it back. All these cost support time and money, which is why they frown on even family members sharing or giving away accounts.
ANet may give it to you.
Is HoT challenging? Yes.
Why Doesn’t it feel challenging? Death does not matter, Death doesn’t matter in GW2, you can pretty much rez rush to the objective and eventually beat it. Sure, it’s annoying but that’s about it. Waypoints in my opinion, were the worst edition to this game…having them every 20 feet was a horrible mistake…
In GW1 there was a severe penalty for death and if your entire party wiped in the instance (Pre- EOTN) it was over, bye, done, restart, gg. By not having that penalty for death you get no difficulty whatsoever. If an encounter is indeed difficult, lets say the Chak Gerent (I see a lot of ppl die to him) and there was no waypoint on the map, you had to be rezed by people and if your party wiped it’d be over, failed event gg. It would add to the difficulty.
Since there will always be a rez rush problem, there will be no “difficult” content in GW2.
50/50 GWAMM x3
I quit how I want
It occurred to me that I’ve never actually stated my position on this. It all comes down to what qualifies as challenging.
While I’m not actually good at playing the game, many people would say I am good at the game. This is all due to the preparation and analysis I make. I build to the maximum and I figure out simple tricks and tactics to beat encounters. Because of this, nearly every encounter in this game (and most games, for that matter), can be reduced down to a series of steps toward guaranteed victory. Once you know those steps, everything is pretty simple, really.
If you are familiar with the game, figuring out these steps should be pretty easy. Yes, there is a good chance you’ll be downed by your first sniper, but after the 3rd or 4th one they’re pretty mundane. If you aren’t familiar with the game, it might take a bit longer. But, so long as you are observant and have decent problem solving skills, victory will come naturally.
A real “challenge” is when executing those series of steps is difficult, or if there isn’t a series of steps at all. The latter is really rare, but the former not as much. Most of the overworld content isn’t too challenging. It is quite a bit harder than the base game overworld is currently, but that is just a series of steps.
I would say that raids are quite challenging, though.
now maybe some will get the idea
