even thought it screwed all the PVE people (which tbh have the most chances to create a legendary anyway).
(ignoring the fact that probably 80% of hardcore WvWers have at least one legendary, they are more common than normal skins)
But true, I was being sarcastic. Because its still how the game works. Everything takes time and in order to get shiny stuff, you sometimes have to do things you dont normally do.
I get my clovers through PVP tracks but I happen to love PVP. Most players here play strictly PVE, they hate PVP and they don’t have a solid method of obtaining clovers. This is simply not fair for them, something must change.
Uh… Thats how the entire game work. In this case you even got it it good since there are multiple methods to get clovers.
For example, I want Ad Infinitum. But I dont want to do fractals. I only want to WvW. What do I do?!?! Something must change, this isnt fair.
Or I could just do fractals but I dooooont waaaaaannnnnaaaaaaa.
Prices of mystic coins have prevented me from making feasts recipes I’d have otherwise liked to have.
I’m currently making Astralaria, so I feel the OP’s pain. I get around this by acquiring most of my clovers from wvw rewards tracks (bloodstone fen is a fantastic track) and loyalty chest rewards, which are 7 clovers per month. 11 months is enough for a legendary doing nothing else.
So at least that plan cuts the number of mystic coins I need in half.
GW2 has never worked in the way you think it should, why should Mystic coins be any different? Frankly, getting Mystic coins as a login reward is quite generous considering what they are used for.
You make it sound like GW2 is a car that only drives backwards, and changing that to include forwards it unnecessary. And then calling it generous that the car drives at all. I doubt that’s the argument you wanted to convey. xD
But yeah personally I wouldn’t mind seeing mystic coins be more available, like picking them at the end of the month or something. It’s not only legendary weapons that use them, and I hate to pick between differents character to focus my account worth of mystic coins on. And I don’t believe anything TP is a good solution to a player material problem.
To me the whole “But it’s on TP!” argument sounds to me like: “Please go here to voluntarily be ripped off by players who want to make a quick buck, while you painstakingly try to grind your materials together. Weee!” … fun… uh no thank you very much. So yeah, I don’t buy much expensive materials on the TP as a result. Then a legendary or fancy skins a much later. And I can stop caring about silly login rewards every day, and stressing about missing out one day because oh kitten I have a life and I can’t always take a moment to login. It definitely doesn’t sound like fun, and I play to have fun, not to miss out because I have a life.
I miss the monthly rewards which made it so it was only 5 months to get 250. That seems also alot more reasonable to me. Although I suppose its the same right now if you wait around for the anomaly chasing every single day. Nothing else to play anyway, do the same boss over and over. More fun…uh-huh (Not that the monthly ever took that long though)
Soo yeah, I think a mystic coin chest after 28 logins is pretty nice. Especially with all the additional legendaries now. And who knows if they add even more legendaries and guild hall upgrades that need them. If not more mystic forge recipes with equally awesome skins. I mean, it’s not only legendaries that use mystic coins. Specialisation weapons are pretty much on hold because of the mystic weapons (or the mystic weapons themselves) needed for it, and I would need to pick between a legendary weapon or a specialisation weapon. Ah well. more slow slow goals because of a limited system that doesn’t account for all the things that need mystic coins.
But yeah, that’s just what I think. And maybe there is some huge stack somewhere in people’s inventories, and I’m totally mistaken that just because they aren’t in my possession it is a problem because a huge stock exists in cyber space. Out of reach. In that (inactive) hoarder’s bank. Useful much. But hey maybe he’ll be generous! Hah! yeah…

Ah… Internet Trolls… The bane of cooperative gaming…
It’s one thing if someone is honestly making a mistake. It happens and nobody is perfect.
Or situations like the old Queensdale Champ Train, where someone kills a Champ ‘out of order’ where there was no ‘order’ to begin with…
That’s different.
But to go out of their way to screw other people over? To actually gain any joy out of ruining other peoples day?
If a person finds some kind of perverse joy in that, then they got problems and shouldn’t be playing games… They should be getting therapy! Because something is /obviously/ wrong, either with themselves or with their life!
But lets face it. These people only do it because of the perceived autonomy of the internet. Because the /instant/ there is any form of real repercussion for their actions, they almost always clam up and start to magically behave themselves.
kittens like those shouldn’t even be allowed on online games…
Cheaters, griefers, and low-lifes who get off on harassing others deserve nothing but scorn.
But again… what can we do about it?
… The human race would never have to worry about be oppressed again.”
I think trolls should have their computers smashed. ’Its all part of the game. U mad bro?’
I saw a few people mention reporting the guy, even if he did it on purpose is that a reportable offense?
Anet has said multiple times that griefing is against the ToS. They tried to engineer it out of the game in as many places as possible, but in complex things like the AB meta it’s nearly impossible to do.
To be perfectly honest, everyone on the map who left their inital side to help south made the situation worse… It’s fine for a side to ask for help but most people should know better and remain where they are. Many pugs who don’t know how scaling works can quickly and easily scale events out of control.
Your best bet was never to go help south, it was to remain where you were and waited.
They already have to record 40 different actors for each line. Adding another language would mean 10 more actors (5 races X 2 sexes) and they would need to go back over all the whole game re-recording everything. There would also be the cost of converting all text to Russian. A considerable cost for translation of the whole game, voice actors, and time.
In addition, if they have another language they would probably need to add Russian support with people capable of speaking Russian, as all the other languages have their own support. Also not cheap.
Unless there would be a huge numbers of new Russian players to pay for this it would lose them money.
ANET commented on reddit during last year’s halloween that they had planned to have Mad Memoires return as a collection, but unfortunately it didn’t make it in time for the event. It should be coming this year.
thanks, I submitted the support ticket and no reply yet. I’ll let you know what happens.
I’d also like to see the return of the other 1st Halloween skins especially the Deathly Shoulder pads. I had a couple of the human skull ones and several of the avian and bull, but I sold those that 1st Halloween to make early gold. As Danikat pointed out, I thought halloween would be like GW1 and recycle stuff, so I thought the gold is more important and I’ll get them next year. Well we know what happened there.
I wish it would come back too.
I was away from home a lot not long after GW2 came out (combination of visiting family and work stuff) so by the first Halloween my main character was only about level 30, not enough to survive in the high level maps required to get the Complete Edition.
My guild mates offered to carry me through it but I really wanted to do it myself and stupidly assumed GW2 Halloween events would be like the ones in GW1 – with the same events reoccurring each year. So I told them not to worry, I’d do it myself the next year.
If I’d known it was only going to be available once and then never again I’d have swallowed my pride and let them run me through the maps.

Personally its just something I am not interested in. Given that the place is likely hard to get to and Im not a good jumper, to me its just a waste of time and I would just keep doing what I was there for. I do think calling the populace apathetic because they aren’t interested in what you are is kind of unfair though. Maybe you will get luckier next time. Best wishes on your fun.
If someone says he’s giving away gold or free stuff, it’s 95% of the time someone just trolling.
I personally never even bother. I’m sure most people don’t either.
Look at how effective someone is in a full Dire set.
Nice balance.

I’m not sure why you say they are only from LS2. You can get amulets and accessories from Laurels, Bandit Crests, and WvW Badges of Honor as Indulpatus said.
Well, technically, the ones purchasable for bandit crests are only available after completing the relevant LS2 episodes.
oh now i see most of the ways to get it are from living story season 2.
Only a handful are (depending on the stats you’re looking for). Most trinket stat-blocks are available using currencies appropriate to the vendor with no strings attached.
~EW
Aren’t trinkets available from a variety of currencies and/or methods of acquisition?
Such as Laurels, Badges of Honor, Pristine Fractal Relics, Bandit Crests, WvW Tournament Tickets, Blood Rubies, Magnetite Shards, as well as rewards from different content.

How do you know it’s the same guy each time?
If you’re flipping I assume you’re using commonly traded materials so it seems unlikely there’s just 2 of you listing them for sale, and undercutting by 1c is pretty much standard practice.

Is there any chance we could have more endless-versions of some of the transformation tonics? They make great rp-items, especially for other races or mesmers.
I love the Fern Hound Potion, sold by the renown heart vendor in Whisperwill Bogs, but it only lasts 5 or so minutes before ending, and it doesn’t show a timer either. These things are great, but I’ve shelled out tons of karma to buy them for rp cause I burn through them so much.
People love having a fern hound just walk up to them In Character. I’ve amused and entertained many an rp’er with it.
If anything else, would it be too much to ask for longer versions of them? The closest thing we have to a centaur appearance is the tiny toy-centaur-potion.
Asking for the rp’ers and the people who love to run around with weird potion appearances. Please Anet.

also combat tonics!
in GW1 tonics became AMAZING, they were endless, could be used in combat (you’d use all of your normal skills) and they could be maintained indefinitely.
that is my dream for GW2 tonics
I was really surprised when my character said it must be Primordus because I was already thinking the same thing.
We already know the dragons function as sources of magic – back in GW1 we discovered that the asura were inadvertently using Primodus, who was asleep at the time, to power their gate network.
And I can’t think of another big source of magic that could be moving around underground. Plus tracking whatever this is apparently ties into how Seis made a destroyer scythe, which should be related to the destroyers.

I think this could be several things:
First, I think that there are so many trolls on the internet that when many people see a post in chat saying that someone wants to give away something really nice, they assume its a troll. I know I do.
Second, I think that perhaps many people get on the game to do something specific. “Find me” could take a very long time with all the places to hide in a map. Or whatever your challenge is.
Finally, its not like doing your challenge = getting the prize. If 10 people participate but only 1 person gets the prize, people might think there is little chance of them actually getting anything for their effort.
This perfectly sums up my reasons.
Some times I might see something like that in map chat and think “Hey, this sounds fun, I’ll join in”. Other times I’m already in the middle of something and for whatever reason can’t drop it to go and join in (maybe people are waiting for me, maybe I have very little time to play that day). And sometimes I’m tired or in a bad mood or have had too many negative experiences with people lately and I’ll assume it’s a scam and ignore it.
None of which means it’s a bad idea. But it might be better to arrange these things with your guild/s and give people some notice ahead of time so if they’re interested they can make sure they’re online and free to participate.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
I see challenges like this from time to time. It does add an additional element to the game for those that enjoy…so it’s great that you’re doing it.
Myself, I log into the game with things I want to do. I have a list a mile long and I work different items on my list on different nights, depending on my mood. So, I’m not really sitting back on my bum doing nothing. The mini-challenges that you speak of are not my particular cup of noodles.
That said, I do appreciate your enthusiasm in getting more stuff going in the game. More choice is better.

Could be they just don’t believe that you will give anything. Way too often people talk big and then vanish. Especially a location like Lions Arch is a magnet for such people.

The initial post in this thread has some pretty unpleasant undertones. Our races are these: Human, Norn, Asura, Charr, and Sylvari. Whether they have, or an individual sees, certain similarities to races in the real world is irrelevant. They are what they are, and we are proud of the cultures they represent and the rich history they bring to Tyria.
Whether a representative is a major component of a story arc, or plays a secondary role, tokenism just really isn’t part of our story.
I am closing this thread. If someone fails to understand why, you’re welcome to contact us but somehow, I don’t think anyone will fail to see why the closure took place.

3. New jumping puzzle designed by Josh Foreman at heart of the Mursaat Fortress
This is such a terrifying prospect that I just want to cry. Cause you know there will be an achievement tied to it.
Yep I was right. Ley Line Gliding is going to be a very important Gliding Perk from here on as more magic is released into the world so will more Ley Line energy for us to use when gliding.
Very excited for this.
Would have loved to see “9. new guild missions” listed though. It has been a while.
