….. And Elementalist.

The price won’t come down anytime soon unless supply is bumped up dramatically. Too profitable right now to place buy orders and wait a week to resell.
That doesn’t appear to be true: when the current events first started, the price dropped dramatically, even though there was little change to the supply — people feared a change to the supply and hoarders were willing to sell much more cheaply.
Right now, regardless of any faucets or sinks, buyers are willing to spend much more on the coins. As long as that remains true, the prices will continue to rise.
Put another way: buyers are much more impatient right now than sellers. However, sellers are still impatient: any small change could set off another set of panic selling.
I don’t understand why you say not true, then proceed to agree with what I said?

Ok, apparently I misunderstood. Here’s the quote from Chris Cleary:
Mystic coins
Chris Cleary writes….Most of this price increase revolves around players that are pushing the value up due to the players willingness to pay more. If players are willing to pay more for an item, it’s going to keep increasing until eventually it hits a ceiling for the commodity. We’ve seen the same thing occur with numerous commodities over time.
Right now there is a consistent supply of mystic coins entering the game (way more than are being consumed) and churning through the trading post at a very slow rate. Most of the coins on the market are ones that have been flipped.
In retrospect, this is actually causing the daily login reward to be worth significantly more to players who wish to convert mystic coins to gold.
So the new sinks are increasing demand, but most of the price hike is actually due to people buying them up in order to make a profit from the increased demand.
Either way though the outcome for most people is the same: If you’re able to wait the price will almost certainly drop again over time.
Alternatively maybe talk to people in your guild/s and see if any of them would be willing to sell coins to you for a lower price? (Note: this will have to be done by mail so there is a risk of being scammed, but I assume you can trust your own guild mates, or use an intermediary.)
I know a lot of people who never use mystic coins and are often quite happy if they can do something useful with them instead of just selling them off when they no longer fit in storage. (When I’m not making legendaries I’m one of them. I’ve recently run out of coins for the first time in 4 years, and even then it’s mostly because I gave away or sold most of them. Didn’t know I’d be making a legendary so soon.)
The price won’t come down anytime soon unless supply is bumped up dramatically. Too profitable right now to place buy orders and wait a week to resell.
Did you know the Focus weapon has a legendary variant? Yes, The Minstrel is a Legendary Focus which is one of the most neglected weapon to date. Since its release, it has only one update; “Updated the effects on The Minstrel to be larger, more impressive, and more frequent.”
If you actual noticed properly, The Minstrel has a draw/stow sound effects which you could only hear them with your volume on max. That’s it, only 2 effects (One of which is barely noticeable). And to think that 4 years passed by without any response from Anet or changes being made.
We need a word on this because this legendary at its current state is no better than a normal epic skin. I don’t request for much, I just want to know why hasn’t The Minstrel been looked at and if you think that it takes too much time for an upgrade, just slap Mesmer’s Trident skill #1 as its footfall and I would be happy.
Thanks
Why do we always have to have a white person with us in the story? We finally get rid of Logan and now we get Kasmeer. Before Kasmeer it was Countess Anise.
No mater what happens in the story, there is always a white person with you.
Not trying to come off racist but that is exactly what ANet is doing forcing us to always have this white NPC with you.
How stupid does this sound to you?
Anytime someone says “I’m not trying to be racist but….”, they’re being racist.
There are white people who have no Asian ancestry who have epicanthic folds.
I felt my brain cells shrivelling and dying after reading that first post.
The epicanthic fold is common among Asians but is not a Asian only trait. There are people in Africa with epicanthic folds, such as the Khoisan people. It appears to be related to the structure of the nose (a nose with a low bridge) and is not a racial trait.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epicanthic_fold
One of the primary facial features that is often closely associated with the epicanthic fold is elevation of the nasal bridge. All else equal, a lower-rooted nasal bridge is more likely to cause epicanthic folds, and a higher-rooted nasal bridge is less likely to do so. There are various factors that influence whether someone has epicanthic folds, including geographical ancestry, age, and certain medical conditions.
Edit: google is your friend.

Yeah but the Epicanthic fold kind of gives it away.
The Pale Tree was planted on a human graveyard and the bodies of the humans were used as a template for the Sylvari form. If a Canthan was buried there and it’s face was used as a template it’s not the same as being Canthan. A copy is not the original. Looking like something isn’t being something.
there are a bunch of asian looking NPCs but that shrub isn’t one of them
Neither Asia or Cantha has any sylvari so Trahearne and Canach are not Asian or Canthan.
Well they certainly do all look Asian..don’t they?
No. No Asian I’ve ever seen has leaves for hair.
Or I tried to reply and didn’t have 15 characters.
If your quoting someone you don’t need 15 characters in your answer. The quote will fill that requirement.
Why do we always have to have an Asian guy with us in the story? We finally get rid of Marshal Trahearne and now we get Canach. Before Canach it was Marjory Delaqua.
No mater what happens in the story, there is always a token Asian person with you.
Not trying to come off racist but that is exactly what Anet is doing forcing us to always have this Asian NPC with you.Where is Asia located in Tyria?

Why did you quote me w/o adding any response? Did you misunderstand my question to you?
Let me rephrase what I said for clarity: There is no one who’s Asian in Tyria, because Asia does not exist in Tyria. You are projecting your own perceptions/perspectives of RL onto a fictional world.

If someone re-quotes w/o reply it usually indicates they are in agreement with what was quoted

Yeah I agree with Chad, you need to brush up on the lore yourself before actually questioning ArenaNet over it.
In any case, I can’t see this thread lasting too long.
Well CowKing, trying or not, you are most certainly coming across as racist.
There are no Asians in Tyria. And an Asian sylvari? If you are equating a plant character to any human race, you have more problems than just racism.
And even if there were Asians in game, who cares? What does it matter what race any character is? SMDH.
Seriously. I see sensitivity training in your future.
I bet the first Pale Tree seed planted by the Ventari in Arbor Bay was actually imported from Cantha.
I bet you don’t even know the games lore.
So of the 3 you mention, only one even remotely fits your post. Marjory is of Canthan decent. The other two are native to the continent Of Tyria.
I never even thought of any of the NPCs you’ve mentioned as asian. I’ve always viewed Marjory as caucasian* and the two sylvari you mentioned are sylvari. If you’re talking eye shape, I know plenty of people from all kinds of ethnicities that have Canach’s eye shape.
I would only equate canthans as asian-appearing in the Guild Wars universe. I mean, you don’t get much more tastefully stereotypically asian as Master Togo or Shiro.
Maybe you have a problem. I don’t mind diversity and I don’t think “canthans” are being over-represented here.
Inb4 thread gets closed.
EDIT: *apparently Marjory is of canthan decent. Still not asian, but as close as you could get to it in GW. For me, her ethnicity is pretty subtle (or perhaps I just never really thought about it).

Is Asia a type of plant/ Sylvari ?
And if so..is Marjory a Sylvari in disguise ?

I’m sorry, but you were 10 minutes into the meta. One player doesn’t have “That much control” over it – As you said, it shouldn’t have been a big deal. Sure, he was a pain in the kitten , but the failure’s just as much on everyone else who let the map reach that point.
But it just astounds me that one player is able to troll the rest of the map despite anet’s stated intention of making that impossible.
I don’t see this as astounding. People who like to troll will be the first to figure out how to exploit a loophole in ANet’s best intentions and GW2’s game mechanics.
/report the player (use “verbal abuse”) or document and submit a more formal Support Ticket. The former takes less time; the latter allows you to explain what happened in detail and “should” get passed to the QA team for review.
Unfortunately, pretty much any large event can be trolled by someone drawing aggro — it’s hard to even imagine how ANet could prevent it entirely without revamping the entire fight. On the other hand, it’s pretty easy for them to identify the person responsible and take appropriate steps (which probably mean an initial warning — a suspension would only happen after multiple violations of the spirit of the ToS).
tl;dr report the specific player and/or the specific actions and cross fingers that anet gets a chance to deal with it before too many catch on
PS might want to remove the details from your post above, to avoid giving someone else the same idea.
So, I just don’t have an SSD and my load times are too high to play the AB multi-map mini-game. I was just wondering if we could maybe just multiply the loot rewards on the Tarir Assault by 10 and call it a day? I mean it doesn’t hurt the economy or anything and everyone’s doing it! Let’s make it official! Whattya say?
Well, I normally DON’T feed the trolls….But I must say:
BUMBLE PUG FOREVER!!!1111ONE
cough
AB Multi-Map is a merged-oh-so-HoT-topic (see wut I did thar?), Some love it…some hate it…and some don’t know wtf it is.
It IS an effective farm.
It IS a fun map to play on (Auric Basin)
It IS a co-operative Meta that MUST BE completed in order to get Grand Chests at the end.
Is it an exploit? I honestly don’t know- everyone has a different view on how to interpret the ToS/ I leave that research up to ANet- MY loot is actually THEIR loot.
Is it hard to join a multi map? NO
Is it hard to understand the instructions from the commander when you join the squad? well, unless you don’t read or understand the language used on that server- your just not paying attention- that’s your problem….not the commanders or ANET.
Enjoy the game, play the Meta of your choosing- don’t put down one play style someone else may enjoy…find what YOU think is fun, and what farm you need to make your gear the way YOU want it- or armor skins, and pretty weapons. (My downfall on those- love my outfits!)
Peace
And don’t forget to play your neglected Warrior!
