Sounds good, but is there any word on how players who don’t raid will be able to unlock the Experimental and Envoy armors? I mean,. you have millions of people who enjoy this game, most of which do not enjoy raiding, so it seems a bit off-putting that only those who enjoy raiding will be able to progress this armor (and before anyone starts complaining about how they have to move out of their own comfort zone to earn existing Legendaries, the various requirements to earn legendary weapons are significantly lower time and skill bars than raiding).
Just no. I don’t consider myself a raider (only been able to do it a couple of times since it was put in), but I think the legendary armor should be a raid reward. If you can’t/won’t do the raids, then you shouldn’t be able to get it. As for the weapons having a lower time and skill commitment, you’re only making one weapon each time you go through the process; you’re making six armor pieces for the armor.
Where the reset is doesn’t matter. If you can only do it on X day, you’ll still be able to do it on X day regardless of when the reset is set.
If I always do GM’s 30 minutes after daily reset on Monday’s, changing the reset from Monday to Saturday will have zero impact. The only impact a change could have is during the initial week.
You dont get it do you?
Lets give you a clearly example
M T W T F S S
Currently reset is on 08:30 UTC Monday, so they have Monday to the next monday to do it
Now, if you a person that can only play on weekend which is Saturday and Sunday in this reset timing. If that person for some reason cannot play on that weekend, he will lose that week’s guild missions rewards.
But if you put the reset on the old reset timing which is 00:00 UTC Sunday, that person even if he can’t play that week, he still have until the saturday of next week to do it.
So, it has impact to specific individuals who have serious time constraints.
There are also people with serious time constraints for which the current reset time works better than the old one. No reset time will work perfectly for everyone, and ANet has apparently found one that works well enough for enough of its playerbase that it isn’t a problem for them anymore
Monday mornings (in the EU anyway) are not the perfect time to start a fresh week, no?
First off, I’d like to say that putting half the points behind a buggy story (my friend cannot advance past Roots of Terror after repeated tries because that moron brahmn cannot be talked to, and yes I felt like ranting about it here), adventures, and raids doesn’t make for a good experience. The strongboxes and insights I felt we needed more because those were actually good, and most of the event ones were decent if not tedious.
- Salvage Pit
- Flying Circus
- On Wings of Gold
- Ley-Line Run
- Drone Race
- Beetle Feast
- Haywire Punch o Matic
Of these… only one i have been able to get gold one so far is the salvage pit… not even silver one these and other adventures… and the super-mario effect isn’t my idea of fun… to began with
Wings of Gold should be easy as long as you have the gliding mastery. You have way more than enough time to get them, so just glide a bit higher than you need to. Remember that there’s ones at the very top. Remember you have to return those gold things to that collection spot though.
Drone Race is faceroll if you have poison mastery. (Personally, I think they shouldn’t have had bothered with the poison vines at all) This is one I always do if I’m in TD if it’s available and it’s great if it’s a daily. You don’t have to be anywhere near precise. Just keep hitting swiftness and pause for a second or two when you try to speed up those ramps to make sure you point it right.
Ley Line Run is hard, though silver isn’t hard as long as you just jump carefully. You can almost limp to the finish line if you choose. I recently got gold when I gave it a serious try though it was only half a second from not getting gold. Just look up youtube on where to blast ahead.
I’ve only managed a silver on the rest, so not qualified to make any comments about getting gold on them. Flying Circus was pretty tough.
The ones that make me upset are Tendril Torchers (barely got a silver, can’t even imagine getting a gold because I can’t even find enough tendrils), Scrap Rifle Field Test (barely silver), A Fungus whatever (can’t get anything), Sanctum Scramble (the thing is too kitten ed long and one mistake ruins the whole thing— I’ve never finished it), and Shooting Gallery (the worst)
A special mention goes to fallen masks, an another terrible adventure due to that RNG, but thanks to that RNG you can also get silver sometimes even without trying.
In the end, I got enough mastery points to fill out everything besides raids and had 1 extra to get the first Raid one. The raids themselves give MPs, so that problem would solve itself eventually though until then I’ll be bothered with that flashing xp bar.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.

I’m just glad it’s a one time deal with the mini games though after getting gold.
Just to point out to the forum scouts reporting to the dev team:
This is not how valuable content should be viewed by your players.
Especially for something that is used as a progression mechanism.
“I’m finding companies should sell access to forums,
it seems many like them better than the games they comment on.” -Horrorscope.7632
There are more mastery points in the game than you actually need. Personally, it’s completely fair for you to say “I don’t want to do adventures in these zones.” But, then, on the other hand, you can’t make a post being frustrated because you’re short on mastery points. You completely chose to not do the content.
I WAS JUST SAYING THIS!!
I decided to try druid in pvp for the first time and omg that staff auto is sick. 1200 range, instant hit, tracking, super fast AA.
I think that staff is good, marks are a lot of fun and good area deny, what i wish is a AA change. Reduce the dmg by 15%, increase the projectile speed 75% and the attack speed by 10%
its sad when i can strafe the hands coming from a necro staff AA but he can’t do that with a druids.
Well…I like using it to mark bomb a boss before swapping to dagger/warhorn and then to shroud but I’m a PvE player so maybe it’s too boring for PvP/WvW? I like having a quick regen if needed, a poison/chill, a mark for removing a few conditions and then a simple one for helping to break bars. Is it boring? Sure but it’s useful…the AA could use some help though, that’s the single most boring skill in the game and soooo kitten slow!
May be it’s just me, but I really love staff and don’t want it changed in any major way.
Deathly Chill is perfect now. It was nerfed in the area where it was overpowered (pvp) and buffed in the area it was underpowered/useless (pve). Those people complaining are always going to complain until they can kitten on necros without taking any damage themselves.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but personally I don’t really care what stats my teammates run in low level fractals.
As long as you have fair DPS and know the mechanics enough that you don’t hinder the rest of the team (E.g. Not stacking on the molten berserker is very annoying), the lower fractals are quite forgiving.
One wold think that a high-profile armor like a legendary precursor would be done better than just copypasting the human model on other races. But if race-specific variations (which would include adapting it for racial physiology, like asuran ears and toes, charr tail and horns etc) are just too much for the overworked Anet devs, then yes, change to male version would have to suffice.
(that saying, the light and medium sets definitely qualify for complete do-overs at this point. And that’s including the male version)
Remember, remember, 15th of November
(edited by Astralporing.1957)
Yes, please change it.
I’m sure this has been brought up already by people far more eloquent than myself, but I don’t really feel like reading through the entirety of this thread, and I figure one more comment can’t hurt.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with adding more feminine armor choices for female charr and asura. Yes it’s somewhat lore undriendly, but hell, so are like 90% of the character names people use in this game. (I’ve lost count of how many norn and sylvari I’ve seen with names pulled directly from Japanese anime.) That being said, if you’re going to go that route, you shouldn’t be using human standards of femininity as your baseline. It should be what those races consider feminine.
(edited by Goliath.7382)
1. New feminine skin for Asura/Charr that don’t have human boobplates.
This.
I know it’s greedy, but the ideal way to handle armor, especially a high-prestige armor like this one (thoug certainly not limited to it!), is to design male and female variants specifically for Asura and Charr, not just coerce the Humannornsylvari armor design onto them.
Please, when you make armor sets, please take into account the differing body structures and social norms of each race. I know that means you’ll need to make three or more passes on them, but I think the additional diversity means a lot to the game.
And ArenaNet? I never thought I’d have to say this to you, but please don’t paste breasts onto species that don’t have them.
Do charr and asura have large breasts? No? Then why the heck would you put breastplates on their armor? That makes absolutely no sense from a biological perspective. The only reason a charr woman would wear something like that is if she wanted to look human, which in charr culture is an INSULT.
I understand that any big changes would require a lot more work than you’re probably willing to offer at this point. That’s perfectly fine, and I’ll scale my answer accordingly.
So, short answer: I would personally prefer the male variants on females.
I would like to add (in case anyone cares): This is the precursor for LEGENDARY armor. On one hand, this “isn’t even it’s final form!” but on the other hand, I don’t expect it to change too much on it’s path to legendary status. So, a lot of people’s expectations are riding on this armor. Out of anything cosmetic, this is not a place you should slack on.
I am definitely in the camp for changing the armor to the male variant. While I can see why some people want the more “feminine” sets for their characters, the most prestigious set in the game thus far is not the place to have it. Sure, release armor with a boobplate. Heck, make it an outfit for all I care. But please, don’t throw lore out the window on something as significant as this set.
P.S. Also if the final legendary set was designed on a per-race basis I’d love you forever. Please don’t just scale it onto charr.
Maybe if you designed armor for women that wasn’t just a bra-shaped piece of metal, this issue wouldn’t be happening in the first place. I understand the need to cater to everyone’s taste, and I’m all for it- if someone wants to wear a battle bikini, let them!- but there are so few options for light armor that DON’T leave their stomachs exposed, for those of us who like something more practical, that the excuse “oh well people want this” holds no water. Yeah, some people want battle bikinis…there are plenty. Give us some armor that ACTUALLY PROTECTS US. Sorry, my main (fem!sylvari) doesn’t really find it appropriate to flash her navel at everyone she meets.
That being said…a good quick solution to this would be, yes, to change the chest plate to the male variant. Remember…six cups, or none at all ;3
Yes, please. Boobplates/bikini armors on Charrs look completely ridiculous, feels completely disconnected to their lore (they don’t even HAVE breasts in the first place), and completely disregard how you presented the race in the first place.

you grind out 3 mil more exp for lvl 169 mastery?
They already nerfed them once. And I still can’t get gold on most of them.
The ones I couldn’t get silver in pre-nerf, I still can’t get silver on. Some I could get silver on I can now get gold – salvage pit, beetle feast (get someone to clear the way for you), drone race. Not all the nerfs were equal because the adventures aren’t equal.
pve, raid, pvp, fractal, dungeon, world clearing, legendary questing.. Zapped!
Multi-loot Tarir meta is destroying the economy. With how GW2 economy is tightly tied to real money things like this should be hotfixed the day they are reported, not left unattended for months.
So how long does it take to destroy an economy exactly? Just curious.. since you say it’s destroying the economy and has been for months. When is the economy officially destroyed?
It doesn’t really matter since there’s a built in limit to chest loot, and that limit is keys. The contents of those chests aren’t balanced around time spent to complete the meta. They’re balanced arount time spent to acquire those keys, which is constant. No matter how many alts you have you won’t acquire keys any faster than someone who only plays one character.
I agree we use keys much faster than we can chest farm. I did find a way to help get a few extra in about 5 min or less for those who get to AB meta late. The lowest I got was 12 keys, the highest I got was 22 from doing this. I usually make it right before challenges start if I’m leaving TD meta. The way I get the extra keys is during the challenge events in AB there is an event that spawns at the gate where you need to kill 9 waves. This event takes place at every gate at the same time. Kill one wave and wp to the next gate kill another wave and so on until you do all 4. You will get reward/keys for all 4 events. If you get lucky you can get the occasional vet vinewrath for additional map participation. Doing just those I can gain about 150-175% map participation, anywhere from 12-20+ keys (usually 12-15 avg.) and a little extra map currency to help buy more keys.
Still not enough keys for as many chest as we can farm but hey every key helps. So not sure why all the fuss.Maybe everyone has been doing this all along and I’m just late to the party, I don’t know.
So basically what we’re saying here is – in approx 20 minutes, you’ve earned enough Keys for ~15-25 rares + all the other loot in the chests. Can nobody see the problem with that? The loot/effort ratio is WAY too high – it shifts wealth faster than any other method.
The op was about map hoping and opening the chests in more than one map per meta.
Map hoping itself does not give you access to more keys.
A player can play events that award keys only in one map at a time,(unless they are multi boxing characters on different maps, but that is another matter and if I’m not wrong not even allowed),so by the end of the meta they will have exactly the same keys as any other player that played the same events and for the same amount of time as them.
With map hoping all you really do is spend your keys faster.
As for the loot,I earn just as much and even more rares in VB and TD,so I don’t see the big deal.
If anything, the recent changes and increases in keys earned form events in AB brought that map up to the same level as the other Maguma maps.

Ummm yeah that’s basically what I’m saying and nope don’t see a problem with it anymore. At first I did, but I was mistaken. Effort?? hey I have to help kill at least one wave in each event to make this work. Only Anet knows if there is a problem here and until they say otherwise. Wheres my running shoes it’s almost Octo time.

So why do we even open chests? Why not just give us the loot instead of keys? We could just spend map currency and instantly get the loot that was in the Grand Chests.
-1 internet points.
Excuiz me but what are you talking about?
Chests,or containers such as pods, baskets etc,is one of the universal methods Anet uses for rewarding and distributing loot to players after successfully completing meta events in the new maps.
Keys,or machetes or crowbars, is the way the flow of that loot is controlled, not only from the game to the player, but also from the player to their inventory.

Because chests are loot in a shiny box that is a lot more fun to open.
Because clearing the meta event to get to them means there’s a point to the meta event, but unlike the SW meta it is not the only thing worth doing in the zone.
Because getting a bunch of loot from chests gives you more time to filter through the trash, sort your inventory, and throw away less stuff because you’re too busy getting beat in the face by monsters.

Because, for me, anyway, opening Chests is a lot more enjoyable than loot just appearing in Inventory. There is just something about opening a Treasure Chest. =)
