Agreed. I’m more kitten off now than I was when I accepted wasting 50$ on keys. Now I get to waste the items I got from the 50$ worth of chests opened. So before I at least had boosters. Now I have nothing.
It was a cool idea but I mean… the chances are the same as the freakin Black Lion Chests – which is to be expected but seriously lol

This isn’t a “whine.” I don’t even mind using the mouse, but I have friends and guildies that have problems with it, either because of carpal tunnel, arthritis, or other issues. They’re limited to what they can play because of that. No, simply isn’t fair. Like Gryphon said above, this has caused no issues in Guild Wars 1, even in PvP.
I’m sure the Devs could implement this in a way that isn’t overpowered in the slightest. They DID, in fact, in Guild Wars 1.
It’s only fair to have options for everyone who wants to play the game to be able to play it, regardless of physical handicap, especially if that option existed in the game that came before this one.
And, please don’t say that those people should have thought about that beforehand. The option was in GW1, so it’s a logical assumption that it would have been in GW2 before they made the purchase.
The GW1 option is the only realistically fair option, and anyone who isn’t totally self-obsessed can see that.
Official word from ANet would be great. I’m sick of looking for this set, especially if it’s not even in-game anymore….
These suggestions (found if many other games)
These suggestions would improve player interaction and game play:

*in Dungeons, let leader indicate who can CNTRL+T (target call)
CHAT
-Ability to highlight and copy chat (to copy links and paste in browser)
above is really useful and needed. In my guild we link to post links of things to one another.

I agree on all of OP points. And on inspect feature…really? People actually complain about this? If your so scared of it, have option to not let others see you, but dont take away options if others want it…and believe me, there are those that want it. <——
+1 on the face-palm emote.
Seriously. Please fix the camera “auto adjust” while dead. I want to be able to look at the game world while dead. I do not enjoy the being automatically forced to stare at my dead body while the camera circles.
If I want my camera to be faced in a certain direction please let me.
i got digital deluxe edition
20 bucks wasted for something i thought could be nice
even my HoM bonusses are better
My 1600 gems is just begging to be spent Anet!
Make it happen!
I don’t like it, but i know how you feel. Personally i think that everythink should be transmutable because we’re playing skinwars 2 and its all about skins. :-)
I think the math is in favor of OP. It’s cheaper to buy the one you want than to buy hundreds of keys hoping to get the one you want.
Some people like to gamble, though.
~ArenaNet
Costumes should be unlocked instead bought as units, and wearable in combat, just like in GW1.
Each Town clothes slot should have a checkbox in the lower-right corner. Activate it, and it’ll replace the corresponding armor piece when showing armor.
And once you buy them and unlock them once, an NPC should have them in their list available for you for a small fee.
As they are, it’s not worth paying for them.
It’s already bad not being able to use Rytlock’s miniature because there’s no way to re-create it, although I already suggested the perfect way to solve that.
I play GW2 with—and have been playing with, since beta—a close friend of mine, who occasionally has to work very late hours. GW2 is one of our best ways to relax and have fun together. Tonight we didn’t get to play together until very nearly bedtime, but logging in to the Halloween Event was just spectacular.
We spent a half hour in Lion’s Arch checking out all the cool new stuff, and then roamed around leveling our characters in Harathi Hinterlands. The first time we saw a Raw Candy Corn mode was very much an “OMG!” moment. I’ve been loving all the detail that went into this event, including the great art, the scattered pumpkin carvings, the scavenger hunt and especially the Trick or Treat doors. The new achievements are all a whole lot of fun, and I’m very happy with the unrelated changes as well—4500 Karma from a single Daily was a huge surprise.
Thanks for turning what could’ve been a long and tiring night into a fun one for us, ANet. I’m really looking forward to checking out the rest of this content, maybe getting my hands on a rare recipe or two.
Have seen so many people that have spent ridiculous amounts of gems on keys and gotten nothing.
Just a PSA, they’re buyable from players. They are expensive, yes. Unless you’re absurdly lucky though, it’s going to be a whoooole lot cheaper to get them that way.
Some aren’t even expensive yet.
If you don’t have the on hand coin, even buying gold with gems and buying the item with the gold is going to be cheaper in RL dollars.
Anticipating a whole lot more freaking out about opening chests and people not getting what they wanted, kills me seeing people say “I spent $50 on keys and got nothing!” etc.
Nope, what they meant that the costumes are going to be selling just in Halloween, and yes they are totally worth it with the minipets, what is NOT worth it is just the gambling chest and crafting the weapons in-game, in this aspect ANET slipped hard.
I’m happy with my witch costume. It gives a broomstick to fly on, a cat familiar and it can also transform other players by using a cauldron
so I would definitly recommend it if you like costume brawl.
I think the title says it for itself. Towns clothes are useless. Now one spends that much time in town. Just convert the UI to wardrobe and allow them to be displayed in combat like in GW1. I as well as alot of other players won’t spend money on something that we can only display when we are AFK taking a crap. Please convert the slots or allow use to use costume peices to transmute into our current armor. Thanks.
Oh and if someone thinks this will cause problems with PVP. Just don’t allow PVP gear to be transmuted by PVE gear, oh wait it already is!
I would spend 1000 gems if it was regular armor.
Dragonbrand – Level 80 – Human Ranger
Please please PLEASE ArenaNet, I dont ask for much, and will gladly buy two of it…just make the Phantom’s Hood regular armor and not just city wear. >< That beauty is too awesome to simply be worn in town!
Thank you, that is all.
shouldn’t we get housing first, I mean then it would be possible for you to stay in the closet or come out of it ….just kidding. But yeah might go well with housing, if that ever comes about.
I don’t mind taking a chance. But the drop rate from the chests is so incredibly low. It isn’t worth it IMO.
I hope the recipes for the gifts that seem to be mats for the permanent versions of the temporaries are wrong.
- Gift of Souls (Staff) : 1x Gift[s] of Knowledge 250x Orichalcum Ingot[s] 20x Glob[s] of Ectoplasm 100x Crystal Lodestone[s] Artificer 400
- Gift of Spiders (Bow): 1x Gift[s] of Ascalon 250x Orichalcum Ingot[s] 20x Glob[s] of Ectoplasm 100x Destroyer Lodestone[s] Huntsman 400
- Gift of the Moon (Shield): 1x Gift[s] of Thorns 250x Orichalcum Ingot[s] 20x Glob[s] of Ectoplasm 100x Corrupted Lodestone[s] Weaponsmith 400
Some have suggested that the gifts are to be combined with the corresponding temporary to make the permanent. If this is the case, a person would need to gather the mats within the time frame of the Halloween events. This is just absurd and Anet should post to clarify this.

does it seriously cost lodestones? i mean the temp weapons aside from staff arent even really that great. but 100x lodestones is like full t3 culture set cost territory
There is nothing sexy for male. :( unless you love that blaring chest hair *cough -Oh god why.
Indeed, ugh. There are maybe 3-4 sexy male armors in game compared to dozens of female armors. I don’t call that a fair balance. And most of the outfits are norn-only and they’re nothing nice to look at either.
We need more male stuff!

My thief if he was able to use cloth…

So?
Its not like armor matters much, without any toughness/vitality ANY class will melt.
I only wanted it to be restricted to two types of armor per class.
A thief in plate armor makes no sense at all, but one in cloth armor does make sense.
A guardian in cloth armor makes sense as well. (see monk.)
A necromancer in plate armor makes sense. (they are tougher to kill then most classes.)
A Warrior in cloth armor makes sense. (see berserker.)
A Ranger in cloth armor makes sense. (see tracker.)
This would not limit the gameplay at all, this is just for appearance, your weapons and such do not change, neither do

Allow every profession to wear any armor, but cosmetically

^ like i said on that very post, “by the time you figure out who you’re fighting against by the way they’re killing you, it’s too late to make the ‘fight or flight’ call”.
there’s a huge issue with, say, a thief misjudging a squishy ele for a tanky guardian with perma-aegis and throwing away his backstab because the guardian was 1- wearing light armor, and 2- had his staff on his back, thus the aegis effect is invisible.
as the game is right now, if you see someone with heavy armor and a staff, you know immediately that it’s a guardian, and that because of that, you have to break his aegis before unleashing a stronger attack.
that’s just the simplest example, and the easier to draw situations.
By the time you figure out what class/armor your opponent is and/or wearing, you’ll be dead already or close to dead.
You’re then making pvp much harder then it should by trying to analyze your opponent in a detailed manner.
Why not just look at the icon text to the players picture and go “he’s guardian which means this, this and this can happen” rather then “He is a guardian, wearing this gear, with those wpns which means this this and this will happen which means I need to do this this and this” That’s too much thinking, IMO.
