Needed update for Large Achievement Chests

I agree with you OP, as long as ANet refuses to give us decent amounts of new Achievement Points they should allow us to earn the armor pieces earlier, and your suggestion is a great way to do that

Why can’t it be that ANet simply doesn’t want anyone to obtain the armor pieces easily or too soon? If we get the next set of armor/weapon skins now, then they still have to offer something ‘fun’ for AP=35,000 and beyond, which means more work and fewer armor pieces we can obtain within the game.

So I see two scenarios to this if ANet were to address it

A – ANet vastly increases the amount of AP available to players, making it possible to get to 35,000+ AP in teh first place and get these skins

B – ANet implements OPs idea, which would allow players to obtain the entire set of Radiant/Hellfire armor by 21,000 AP.

If ANet goes with option A, well then there isn’t anything they would have to do. You would need to hit 42,000 AP to finish the radiant/hellfire sets. ANet would have to suddenly give players 10k+ new AP to earn (which could be made easier on ANet if they made LWS2/3 and HoT achievements worth more AP) before this even becomes a problem. Even then, there isn’t an “armor slot” for AP rewards until 45,000 AP, so ANet would still have a decent sized buffer to make new armor if they even wanted to.

In ANet goes with option B and don’t want to leave gaps in the AP reward structure, then worst case they could move the pinnacle skins up and retroactively award players who have more than 21,000 AP the extra pinnacle skins they would have (I also think this should be done, if only because they went through the effort of making them, yet made it so that no one can possibly have more than 2 of them despite them being ingame for 3.5 years at this point. That’s kind of absurd, essentially a waste of resources). Or they could make a new armor set, or even just leave the gaps in the AP rewards.

Its not like ANet doesn’t have options here. They could just give us thousands of extra AP right now. Even if they literally gave every account an extra 7,500 AP, it would still take the top of the leaderboard a long time (best case, next expac would have about 2,500-3,000 AP in it for them to hit 42,000, worst case they would have to wait through LWS4) before even finishing the radiant/hellfire sets.

I just can’t imagine that something having been in game for 3.5 years already and still impossible to reach counts as it being “too easy” or “too soon” to acquire. When I think of these sets the only thing that comes to mind is wasted development resources.

The complete achievement reward system needs a redesign

All the Weapon Skins and the armor Skins should get removed from the Achievement Reward List and instead should be replaced (retroactively) with Skin Unlock Items, that let you randomly unlock any weapon/armor skins for your Account, that you haven’t unlocked yet.

This way would be the achievement rewards for these milestones alot more rewarding, especially if you are so lucky to get something unlocked, what would cost you normally eventually alot of gold.

Collecting Ap would become also alot more meaningful, if you would get actually USEFUL rewards out of the chests, that reduce the grind for you, stuff, that helps you in making your game for you multi character friendlier.

The point, is, this even existed for some time after relreasre. there was the time, when achievement reward chests unlocked for you randomly skins, that you didn#t have had unlocked yet to that point and that was the time, where achievement chests felt the very most rewarding!!

This NEEDS to return.

the super ugly weapon skins and the two armor skin sets should get just changed into skins that players should be able to buy with Karma + gold.
This way would receive GW2 some new little Gold & karma sink,s all playrs would profitate from this reward redesign and especialyl could people receive those skins if they really want them faster, without that you need first to grind tens of thousands of AP first just to get slowly step by step the skin parts.

Personally I like the idea behind sub classes ~ quoted from Chris Whiteside

Lol, I’ve just given up on Achievement Chests. If I happen to acquire one, bonus reward! Otherwise, I no longer think about them, or try to obtain APs.

Please, please, please give me this one thing if nothing else, because the game deserves it.

Also, human males need some decently long (rivaling female Norn in length) hair. As a Noble Player, it would show more status I think.

It’s an old thread but they say they read it.

If it doesn’t get noticed you can always try rubbing baby oil all over yourself while screaming at the top of your lungs, “I am teh Leetness.” That does tend to attract attention.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

Hey, Anet. Any word on when the Stag Helm will be back? I thought it would have been Wintersday 2016, but no sign of it yet.

Are you going to make me go months of logging in every day, heading straight to the gem store, and do a search for “stag helm” and come up with zilch? Because that’s what I’ve been doing for several weeks now, and it’s starting to get a bit monotonous!

Every day that goes by without the Stag Helm in the gem store, Trump sends another tweet.

Just sayin’.

I bind all of my keys to Gravedigger and rapidly roll my face across the keyboard while screaming
“I am teh Leetness!” at the top of my lungs, while rubbing baby oil all over myself.

I don’t see any logical argument against allowing an option to deploy gliders differently. No one’s trying to force anyone to utilize gliders in a different way if they’re happy with how it is currently.

I know that for myself, and for a few friends, even this long after their release, gliders still screw me on jumping puzzles all the time. And I don’t really think it’s just a L2P issue either – I have tried letting go of spacebar as soon as possible when jumping, and sometimes the glider will still activate in the split second it takes me to release the button. It’s finicky, buggy, and I’m not sure if it’s hardware related, FPS related, latency, or something else. I get pretty decent FPS in this game even on my potato, and I still suffer from the glider deploying uncontrollably sometimes.

There’s literally zero harm in giving people an option. Giving people a second way to glide if they struggle with gliders coming out when they aren’t wanted isn’t going to break your gameplay if you like the way they’re currently implemented.

Yeah but in my case, I received some Gem Cards for Christmas. I loaded them into my account and they are all just sitting there. But ArenaNet on the other hand already has the money so they don’t care if I cash them in or not…..

Sad but true….. Kinda like the 6 Permanent Copper Salvage kits sitting in my bank, with the shared slots I don’t need them, can’t refund them, can’t sell them, and can’t even give them away………

It really appears to me it is all about the money, they really have no sense of loyalty to their customers. Unfortunately it’s a business first and only……… Sad really sad.

I don’t want to kill anymore dragons, because honestly it is mostly just awful boring.

HoT was a massive letdown for me, the areas where not my cup of tea, the enemys are condition throwning kittens and worst of all: the end fight in the mind of the dragon was plain and simple this: boring af. :/

Cant’t they just give us at least a glimpse of Cantha, an ambassador who comes by and says “well turns out we could use some help, we have some kind of chrisis. Finish your dragons and ship over to us”.

Give us hope of seeing the beautiful places of Cantha again.

If the leaks are correct the next expansion is in elona.

Of course leaks generally should be taken with a grain of salt. So i am not sure if they are correct.

This is pure speculation on my part, but from the direction Season 3 is going so far, I have a feeling one way or another the Dragon Story we have been bogged down with for the last 4 years is going to be fast tracking to a conclusion….
But something funny enough I don’t think in 4 years of this megathread anyone has considered them taking the game to a completely new land.
I mean have you actually looked at the Order of Whispers globes? Tyria, Cantha, and Elona comprise of like 10% of the planets land mass….

My feeling is the same, that the story with the dragons is fast tracking to a conclusion. Popping 2 dragons in living story (what I wouldn’t give for them to make a dragon fight map between the two dragons with the players coming in to take advantage) and leaking the third is going to be hit in an expansion (as Kralkatorrik is in the Crystal Desert, last we heard) tends to suggest that their experiment with Lovecraftian Eldritch Abomination is wrapping itself up. With the usual complaints such stories have: Lovecraftian monstrosities are glamorous as long as they stay mysterious and unfightable. And that doesn’t work for a video game.

As I’ve been saying to my friends for a while, the whole leyline/dragons-consume-magic story, which has been in the game since Zhaitan, suggests that the end of the Elder Dragons will align itself for a major change in geography as well as story, because by all indications, magic will be entirely out of control by then, and that will allow them to do whatever they want with the landscape: open random rifts to places like Kourna and the Jade Sea, create another cataclysmic event, crumble Tyria up into the Mists, blast us all to parts of the globe we haven’t seen (btw, does it seem to anyone else that they’ve considerably finessed and improved the Secrets Globe and the way the world map wraps around it since the inception of the game?).

I’m excited about possibly seeing both places we’ve already been, like Elona (which had beautiful maps, especially in Vabbi) and places we have yet to see, like the Isles of Janthir or someplace farther removed. But with Cantha, there’s a special desire to see it, I think, that largely comes from the fact that it isn’t just that they’ve got no story there, but that it was expressly taken away and forbidden. That kind of censorship is tragic, and in a way it’s worse because it affects more than Shing Jea and Kaineng—the Kurzick and Luxon areas were inspired by European cultures and languages. The baby really did get thrown out with the bathwater here.

And I agree with the above poster who said that Cantha has much to offer that’s unique compared to the rest of the game: the huge city-scape of Kaineng and the semi-melted state of the Jade Sea especially. The Jade Sea was one of my very favorite places in all of GW, both version. Echovald Forest would be cool to glide in, although gliding in a forest of giant trees is something we’ve done already, but the aesthetics of an Echovald Forest still recovering from having been turned to stone could be beautiful.

It’s just really sad not to get to go.

The thing is that, other than very fancy magic Rifts (can’t be Asura gates if the Asura didn’t go there to build the other end of the gates) we have no way of crossing to anywhere outside of continental Tyria without dealing with the elephant in the ocean. Problem with that is they dropped underwater combat altogether, HoT was dry as kitten and laughably so since it’s a tropical Jungle, Mordremoth filling the low ranges was a silly excuse as he feeds on leylines and not water. We never even saw a DSD minion unless the Chak turn out to be so (very unlikely). So they have one of two choices: having a whole expansion to reveal stuff about him or killing him off-screen, before even thinking of expanding the world. That or killing two or more dragons is enough to create rifts leading everywhere including Cantha.

And then when you have the skin on your back, as well as the actual shield, you draw your weapons and are now holding the shield while still wearing it?

I can see people wanting the option even when they can’t wear shields on their profession, though I personally do not, I like seeing my character’s armor rather than a large disk. But I can also see a lot of potential problems such as the one above, and perhaps in PvP making others think you are using a shield only then you pull out another weapon set entirely.

QoS: Trading Post "quick sell" button.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: SlippyCheeze.5483

SlippyCheeze.5483

I rarely bother listing items on the trading post matching the asking price others have: it’s just not worth it to me, compared to being able to do whatever I want. I’ll pay that ten percent or so in order to have direct access to money.

Usually, I approach that by gathering a bunch of stuff, then bulk-selling it. That is a slow process, involving clicking three times, that doesn’t really seems to bring any great value to the table:

1. Click the item in the trading post (or right-click and select Sell…)
2. Click “yes, I want to sell this.”
3. Click “yes, I sold this.” aka the “Close” button.

If the best buy offers don’t cover everything in the stack, it’s worse – the close button is in a different position, it’s easy to accidentally list for sale rather than directly selling, and you usually have to manually reset the count from 1 to the rest of the stack.

If it was possible to get a “quick sell” feature, that’d be great: being able to click one button to sell something for instant gold, that’d be exactly what I wanted out of this interaction with the tool.

Even better would be the ability to select multiple items and quick-sell them all, but that’s obviously a bigger interaction change than a separate button on the line item to sell it, and probably not that much better overall…
